the Dark. I'm from a smalltown North Carolina called core Peak, and

I've lived here almost my entire life. In the nearly twenty three years i've
been here, I've never experienced somethinglike what I'm about to tell you.
We live on a farm of aboutseventy acres half witch as woods and swampland.
We have trails in the woods forfour wheelers and trucks, and we're
out in the woods almost daily doingsomething. I have also hunted in these

woods with my friends and family myentire life. We like to go out
to a specific part of the woodscalled the Donut Tree, which is a
single tree in a clearing and probablya good acre or so. We like
sitting around in and listening to music, talking or looking at the stars.
Well, one night, about oneam during the summer about five years ago,

(01:34):
it was me, my husband,cousin, aunt, and good friend.
We decided to go out to listento the wild life and enjoy the
night. We took my husband's olderjeep Cherokee out there and my husband was
driving, Our friend was in frontwith him, and my cousin and I
were in the back seat with myaunt. When we got to the donut
tree, my husband and friend gotout and opened the hatch in the back

for my aunt. My cousin auntI decided to stay in the jeep because
the three of us had an oddfeeling that wasn't normal because we were always
out there at night and never reallyexperienced anything unusual. My husband and frand
walked toward the front of the jeep. They were talking. The three of
us in the vehicle just sat therelistening. Typically you hear crickets and frogs

(02:21):
out there at night, and twigssnapping from deer or whatever critters walking over
them, but the environment was eerilyquiet. This night. Next thing,
you know, my aunt starts screamingand jumps into my lap. When my
cousin and I turned around see whatwas happening, about ten feet from the
back of the jeep, we sawsomething horrifying. The moon's reflection was bright

(02:46):
that night, so I'm sure aboutwhat the five of us saw. The
black figure standing behind the jeep wasprobably seven feet tall and had arms that
hung down by its waist with broadshoulders. Its shape was very manlike when
it was walking. It never madea sound over the leaves or sticks lying

(03:07):
on the ground. It walked outinto the clearing, where its features became
more visible. The three of usin the jeep started yelling to get the
attention of the guy standing outside,but they were already looking right at it.
My husband was scrambling to get backinto the driver's seat to get out
of there, and our friend,an army veteran who I have never seen

(03:28):
scared over anything, was just standingthere frozen. They finally got into the
jeep and we got out of there. This thing just stood behind the jeeps,
staring at us the whole time.The only thing I can describe this
thing as was a big foot We'vebeen out there many times since this incident
and have never seen anything again,but when we go out there at night

(03:53):
now, we're all on edge,waiting to see if it comes back.
