to find more. This episode ofFive Minute Frights has titled the Indian Boundary
Lake Light. For the past thirtyyears, I go onto my favorite campground
and Cherokee National Forest here in EastTennessee, and since meeting my wife in
(00:53):
two thousand, we gone every summerfor a week of tent camping in the
mountains. Beautiful camp ground includes asmall lake, but since it's illegal to
use gasoline powered boats on small lake, we'd always take our illuminum canoe and
electric battery powered outboard motor, aswas our habit. After dinner and just
before dusk, we'd put some icein a backpack and bring a few beers

to enjoys. We'd cruise out tothe middle of a small lake to watch
for shooting stars as it got dark. We also made a habit of smoking
little marijuana as we gazed skyward. It was fun and we did it every
time we went to a campground.Around fifteen years ago, as we finished
our beers and we're about to leavefor shore, something happened that scared the

crap out of us. At thetime, we were no longer looking skyward.
We were getting back to our seatsas I manned the electric motor controls
for the dark cruise back to shore. Then suddenly, out of nowhere,
we were hit by a bright beamof light from directly above us. There's
(02:02):
no sound, no movement, justto brightbeam of light that lasted about ten
seconds, then back to complete darkness. My wife and I were dumbfounded.
Did that just happened? I askedmy wife what was that? She responded.
(02:23):
For a second, I thought itmight have been a helicopter, but
there was no noise, only thesound of the lake frogs singing. Needless
to say, we got back toshore as quickly as possible, and no,
it wasn't a couple of half drunkstoners. The shaft of bright light
was real. We both saw it, but neither of us could explain it.
(02:44):
It's never happened again, but wethink about it every time we return
for our dusk stargazing adventure. Foryears, it's been a great story to
tell around the campfire, and it'sa god's honest truth. Submitted by anonymous.
