My Tint. When I was twentythree, my fraternity brother Patrick invited me
to camp in the Mojave Desert inArizona. I didn't hesitate to accept the
(00:53):
offer. It was the summer oftwenty fourteen, and we arrived at our
campsite as the sun descended below thehorizon. We quickly set up our tents
and started a campfire. We spentthe evening drinking beers, cooking, brought
worsts, swapping college stories beneath thestars. As the night wore on,
I grew exhausted from the loads ofbeer and crawled into my tent ready for
(01:15):
a good night's sleep. But soonsomething strange happened. As I lay there
trying to drift off, I noticeda strange light flickering above my tent.
Initially I thought it was a helicopter, but then I realized I wasn't making
any noise. It was something elseentirely. The light darted back and forth
(01:41):
across the sky and way I hadnever seen before. I started to feel
pretty uneasy as I watched it still. I poked my head out of the
tent to get a better look, but as soon as I did, the
light vanished. I brushed it offas my imagination and tried to go back
to sleep. I didn't bother tryingto wake Patrick, but then the light
(02:05):
appeared again. This time it wascloser, and I could see a group
of lights all clustered together in astrange asymmetrical pattern. I sat up in
my sleeping bag, my heart pounding. What was going on? Was this
some military exercise or was it somethingelse? Entirely? The lights started moving
(02:30):
in even stranger patterns, swirling andshifting ways that seemed impossible for any man
made aircraft, And then as suddenlyas they had appeared, they were gone.
Disappearing into the darkness. I satin my tent, trying to understand
what I'd just seen. Was itreal or was it just a figment of
(02:52):
my imagination. I woke up earlythe following day, feeling slightly dizzy and
disoriented. I told my friend aboutthe strange lights I'd seen, but he
didn't seemed phased by my story. He probably assumed I was dreaming, but
I knew what I'd seen. WhenI returned home, I read about UFOs,
(03:15):
government cover ups and conspiracy theories. But the more I read, the
more confused and frustrated I became. There seemed to be no clear answers to
make sense of what I'd seen.I'll never shake the memory of those strange
lights in the desert. Submitted byanonymous. This has been five minute frights
