a Dream? I woke up ina cold sweat, my heart racing.

(00:51):
I had just had a dream abouta ghostly figure that had appeared in my
room. It had been standing therewatching me sleep, and I couldn't move
or scream. I felt paralyzed, trapped in my own body. As the
eeriness grew more potent by the second, Then, just as suddenly as it
had appeared and vanished into thin air, I took a deep breath, trying

(01:17):
to calm my nerves. It wasjust a dream, I told myself,
But even as I attempted to shakeit off, I couldn't dismiss the feeling
that something was wrong. I leftmy bed and walked around the house,
checking all the doors and windows toensure they were locked. I returned to
bed and noticed that my husband wasnot in the room. He had been

(01:38):
staying up late more often since hestarted taking meds for his chronic back pain.
I always assumed that stuff made peoplewant to sleep, not stay up
longer than usual. I sighed andtried to push away my worries. I
knew I had to be strong forhim, but watching him struggle with addiction
was hard. So I was alreadyfeeling uneasy before for the unsettling dream.

(02:02):
The following day, I woke upfeeling exhausted. I tossed and turned all
night, unable to shake the unease. As I went about my day,
I kept feeling that something was watchingme. It was like a sixth sense,
alerting me I wasn't alone. Thatnight, I was lying in bed

(02:23):
reading a book when I saw it. The ghostly figure from my dream stood
at the foot of my bed.It was just as I remembered it,
and its eyes seemed to bore intome. I tried to scream, but
no sound escaped my throat. Iwas frozen just like in my dream.

(02:49):
The ghostly figure approached me with anextremely awkward looking stride, appearing as though
it were injured. I closed myeyes, praying it would go away,
but it was still there when Iopened them. Finally I found my voice.
Who are you? I asked,my voice trembling, but the ghostly

(03:09):
figure didn't respond. It kept comingcloser until I could feel its cold,
bony fingers on my skin. Thatwas when my husband burst into the room,
his eyes wild with fear. Hedidn't seem to see the ghostly figure,
but he could feel the chill inthe air. What's going on,

(03:32):
he asked, grabbing my hand.Do you know how it got so cold
in here? I turned to him, and the ghostly figure vanished. I
collapsed into my husband's arms, sobbingwith relief. The next day, we
decided to take a day trip toBisbee, Arizona. It was a small
mining town that had become a touristattraction with its Victorian architecture and quaint shops.

(03:58):
We hoped that a change jo scenerywould be healthy for both of us.
I couldn't shake the feeling that somethingwas watching us. As we wandered
the town. I kept looking overmy shoulder, but there was never anyone
there. Strangely, the tension dissipatedas the day progressed, and I felt
an unexplainable confidence that I would neversee the ghost again. I never did.

(04:26):
Interestingly, after that day, myhusband found the discipline to stop taking
addictive pain medication. I'll always wonderif the ghosts visit had anything to do
with that. Who knows. Submittedby Emma Sanderson. This has been five
