When I was twelve, I foundsasquats tracks in my home in Lyndon,
Tennessee. First, I didn't knowwhat they were. They were huge and

(00:54):
spaced far apart, as if thecreature made them and taken enormous strides.
My Daddy and I followed the trailof prints into the woods across the street
from our front yard. It wasa Sunday afternoon and Daddy was a little
tipsy after having the neighbors over forsome football. I don't think he would
have been so quick to search forwhat created the tracks. FEE was sober.

(01:15):
As we walked, I noticed othersigns of the creature's presence. There
were broken branches and trampled bushes.Looked like a small stampede had just come
through the area. Daddy even founda few tufts of hair caught on a
thorn bush, which reminded me ofhair from a horsetail. I had followed
the tracks for a few minutes beforewe got whiffs of a nasty odor.

(01:38):
It smelled like a dumpster full ofdecay and fish, but we knew no
dumpsters were nearby because there were nobuildings for miles besides our house and a
couple others in the opposite direction.A few moments after Daddy said we should
turn and head for home, myeyes landed on a dark shape about fifty
feet off. It was peeking outus from behind a tree, and I

(02:00):
could immediately tell it was taller thanus. Daddy saw it right after me,
Sweetie, We need to calmly andquietly walk home now, Daddy said,
everything's gonna be all right. Wejust need to stay calm. I
did as he asked, and wemade it home safely. Creature never made
any noises or appeared interested in comingafter us, but its face was so

(02:24):
creepy. First characteristic comes mind wheneverI think about the creatures, how long
its face was. We told mymom about the tracks and the shadow like
figure when we got home. Iexpect her not to believe us, but
then she told us how her friendMartha claimed to have seen a strange hairy
man crossing the road on the wayhome from work one night. According to

(02:49):
Martha, the thing leaped across thestreet with catlike reflexes. Although I was
a little freaked out by what we'dseen, I was also excited of seeing
something so unusual. I begged daddy'dtake pictures of the tracks, and he
assured me he would get on thatfirst thing in the morning. It was
clear he was shaken by what we'dseen. Honestly, I think he was

(03:12):
more afraid than I was. Unfortunately, it rained that night Prince Scott washed
away. I was pretty upset aboutit, but I was still buzzing from
seeing the creature, which helped meovercome the frustration. I quickly became obsessed
with reading every sasquatch related content Icould get my hands on, But as
the weeks passed, my enthusiasm beganto wear off. The excitement of the

(03:37):
discovery had faded, and I realizedI didn't likely never see a sasquatch again.
I began to feel like I hadmissed my chance to acquire evidence of
something incredible. Years later, Istill think about that day in the woods
and it's impact on my life.It taught me to be curious and open
minded, which has made me muchhappier than I would have been otherwise.

(04:00):
Maybe one day I'll stumble upon anotherset of sasquatch tracks and the excitement wonder
I felt as a child will comerushing back. Submitted by Kelly M.
