This episode of Five Minute Frights istitled The Bipedal K nine. Many might
think I'm nuts, but I swearI saw something out of this world.
(00:52):
I was driving through the Manistee NationalForest in Michigan, heading to a hotel
after my friend's engagement party. Wasalready dark and my only light was from
my car headlights. I was cruisingdown the winding road, enjoying the quiet
and solitude, when I saw somethingstrange. At first, I thought it
(01:12):
was a large dog running through theforest, but as I continued examining it,
I realized it was moving on twofeet. It was something much much
bigger than an average dog. Thecreature was at least seven feet tall.
With dark fur covering its body. Its arms were long, almost touching the
(01:34):
ground, and it had a snoutlike a German shepherd. Its eyes glowed
in the darkness, and I noticedsharp teeth in its open mouth. I
slammed on the brakes and my carskidded to a stop. Was my exhausted
mind playing tricks on me? Thecreature was chasing a couple of coyotes,
(01:59):
and they were running for their lives. They yelped and howled in terror as
they tried to outrun the predator.I was frozen with fear. I didn't
know what to do. My mindraced with thoughts of what this creature could
be. Was it a bearer? Was it a wolf? No, it
looked too intelligent. What was it? The beast turned its head and looked
(02:23):
at me. Our eyes met andI felt a chill run down my spine.
It was like it was staring intomy soul, a sensation I had
never experienced before that night. Itseyes were full of rage, and I
knew that if it wanted to,it could tear me apart in seconds.
(02:44):
I knew I had to get outof there. I shifted into reverse and
stepped on the gas my car spunaround and I almost lost control, but
I managed to get back on theroad and drive away as fast as possible.
As I drove away, I couldhear the creature's howls echoing through the
forest. It was a sound I'llnever forget. It was a sound of
(03:08):
pure terror and anger. I knewI had seen something that I wasn't supposed
to see, something beyond my understanding. When I got to my hotel,
I tried to calm down. Iwanted to convince myself that it was just
my imagination that I had seen anodd looking bear, But deep down I
(03:30):
knew that what I saw was somethingelse. Over the next few days,
I couldn't shake the feeling that somethingwas watching me. Every time I went
outside. During the next six months, I felt like something lurked in the
shadows, waiting for an opportunity toambush me. All I could think about
(03:51):
was that creature in the forest.I don't know what that thing was.
All I know is that it wassomething beyond my understanding, something that I
never want to encounter again. Submittedby Jeremy Katz. This has been five
