Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yes, I'm about to comb my hair in front of you, guys,
because it's a little wild. It's a warm day in
Los Angeles, is beautiful. I'm working, try to get shit done,
but I want to talk to you for a second
about what's been going on with me a little bit,
because you're in If you're a fifty plus, this could
happen to you too. If you guys hairy, I helped
(00:25):
you head of hair. I'm so happy might see me
put it in up better. It was just it was
really getting my nerves, so I just wanted to get
it a little better. Kids. So I was born in
nineteen sixty nine and I went to school starting in
nineteen seventy three. I am, I'm sorry I got vaccinated
(00:53):
a kid. I know that's a that's a big thing
these days. But I did get vaccinated. And they have
vaccinated before the school so early, so the mid seventies
against them, the seventies, the early seventies. But I turned
thirty years old. It was hot, so I didn't have
(01:14):
agehid diseases, so I didn't get measles, mumps, or chicken pox,
the main ones. I didn't get any of those. I
got a few other things about those pretty healthy child,
pretty healthy adult. I don't wanna get this stuff. At
age thirty, I got mumps. My faces game bigger and
I was feelingly sick, and I'm like, what is going on?
(01:36):
And I'm like, I'm getting mumps. I actually have the
mumps at pictures, of which I got to find it somewhere.
I'm not finding for this episode. I can't find it
mumps because at an actual pictures there were those camera
phones back then. I was thirty, back in the nineties,
so there's no cameraphone at momps. It was dangerous. I
had to sleep a certain way. It was crazy. I
couldn't believe it. Everybody was mesmerized by it. Well can
(02:00):
at fifty six years old, So I'd just say, you know,
this can happen to you. I was sick weeks ago, fever, chills,
extreme fatigue, the whole Shenanigan, so whole kit, whole kitten kaboodle.
My doctor before that when I because I'm going because
(02:21):
I have I have cancer and other stuff, don't do
a little kind of stuff, so doing lots of blood
work all the time, just checking for things, checking my
PSA numbers and stuff. So he was like, I want
to check it. He kept saying, you need these certain shots.
And I didn't get the shingle shots. And I said,
I never had chicken pox. I don't know why why
would I need to get it. I just I never
had it, and I just thought it would be very
(02:42):
rare for me get chicken poxes. I'm an adult. I'm
an older adult, So like, why would you even think? Why
would he even think I would get it? I don't
know anybody else who's gotten it in their fifties or sixties,
well kids, all those symptoms, head and string on the side,
the whole thing. He something made him techy, and he said,
I can't positive for chicken pox. And I have no
(03:08):
no bumps, raises, nothing, think he's itching. So thank you Jesus.
I have to go about that kind of stuff. Had
no itching then that kind of stuff, Thank god. But
I was. But he was like, you are contagious. You
need to stay home and go through quarantine. Now, for
those who don't nice to be a nurse. So for
those who don't know, when you first are catching the
(03:32):
cold and we get a regular cold or a flu,
when you're catching it, you're the most contagious, so you
start feeling down and you start to cough or whatever.
At the very beginning, that's when you should separate from people.
Try to attack it, like I did, try to attack
it right away, you know, emergency, I'm growf it whatever,
(03:54):
all this stuff. But Champbox apparently, especially this form, you're
the most contagious after you've gotten it. It said, literally
I could have had the I go exposed no symptoms
for about to up to ten days. So I just
I just was like walking around. I didn't even know
I had it. Then I got sick and I started
(04:15):
feeling on Sunday, and then I assumed it was Covidok,
I took your test and was in COVID or whatever.
But it's chicken pox. And it's like a four or
five six day period. You're contagious whilst you have it.
Then it goes away. It's like a twenty one day
cycle or something. I can't I just I tell people
(04:36):
because I could go to the Emmys. I can't go
to I can't go to my friend Tony Moore's final performance.
All this stuff I can't do. I'm like, I literally
have doctors, like I literally have something. So unique. You
can't make this shit up. It's just crazy. So all
you guys out there, if you've near a chicken pox,
you can still get it. Apparently I was told that
(04:58):
the vaccines that were given out from like nineteen sixty
eight to seventy five, which is me, we're not as
life long as somebody as they thought. I guess that
makes sense on some level. And I was like, Okay,
so James Lodt Junior is gonna have to he can
say he had two childhood diseases, but as an adult,
(05:18):
I don't want measles, So be cautious out there. I know.
For me, I've been out about more, doing more red
carpets and interviews, and I've been riding the trains more,
walking more in public, doing being around more people, to
be sub ctual, all kind of stuff. You know. I
use hand sanitizer, I wipe things, and I do all
(05:38):
that stuff. But it's just life. And I said, normally
I don't get very sick, but no, but also emotionally
I'm worn down. I fully admitted why wiving all these
sick things, and I'm totally the last mostly just say
three years, I've been very emotionally taxing on me and
physically on some level. Two. But everything's going on my life.
(06:00):
I have a lot of plates spinning in the air,
and so when you get worn down. Even though I've
tried to trying to sleep and I do all these
other things, it's a lot. I have a lot of stress.
I don't show it. I'm a very calm person on
the outside. Don't really show it, and I just can't
cure it to myself and whatever. But I think it's
it's in there, it's holding in there somewhere. So I
(06:22):
just feel like that helps you get sick, right, It
kind of helps you get you know it. It gives
you susceptible to the viruses things that go along. So
and virus is likely for some reason. I've had the
Bells policy, which is the virus. I've had COVID three times,
which is the virus. I had scarlet fever and scarlet tina,
which like it's a virus. So I've had things that,
(06:43):
you know, they like me for some reason. But restaurant,
I'm not sick anymore. I don't feel like. There's a
couple of little residual cough a few things that knows.
But I'm pretty much like raid to run rag free
in the world, and I felt dropped in my house.
Yea to do it, so I fifty plusters out there,
just be very careful. I will get a shingle shot
(07:05):
now because now I've had it, I don't want shingles,
so I will get the shingle shots, which I wasn't
gonna get originally, and I might get the flu shot
down again. I used to get the flu shots to
get all the time and then maybe sick. My life's
changed since then, but I'm like, I don't get the flu,
but now I'm trusted it anymore. But I also have
to be careful with what I have to talk to
my doctor, because I'd be careful because I'm trying to
(07:26):
handle my diabetes, trying to handle my weight loss, trying
to handle my cancer, trying I got my body. Is
a lot going on right now. But my old war horse,
I'm hanging in there. So I'm just saying for you
guys at home, just be very cognstant that nowadays you
can catch anything. You know. See this happens at fifty plus.
I'm James Junior. Talk to you next time.
