Chuck Kingram on fifty five Karen Scene the talk station.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Hey, forty seven if you give out their CD talk station,
let's ask an expert.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
You know, there's paint, and.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Then there's something better than pain, a lot better than paint.
Todd Harville from Rhino Shields during the program to explain
the product and why it's better and all the benefits
you get from choosing Rhino Shield. Welcome to the program, Todd.
It's a pleasure to have you on today.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Hey, thanks Brian, thank you for having us on today.
It's a pleasure. Hey.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
You know, the idea of not having to do something
regularly like paint is a good thing. I'm a one
and done guy. To the extent it's ever possible, and
it rarely is, most notably with paint because of the
wear and tear you get from the elements. Explain what
rhino shield is and why it's better than paint.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Rhino Shield is a ceramic an elastimeric coating that we
spray on eight to ten times thicker than conventional paint.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
That's the reason why we get in the consistency.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Of the twenty five years lifespan out of our coating,
and it just beautifies and it protects the houses from
the elements, and you're going to get a lifelong you know,
happiness out of your coating on your house without having
to repay frequently.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
So you're saying it's guaranteed the last twenty five years.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
We guarantee it for twenty five years against any kind
of peeling, cracking, or chipping, and we just don't see
the fading like you do with normal paint.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, that's out on the you know, the big box stars.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yeah, that fading is always a problem because it's I mean,
it's going to fade. It's inconsistent fading. So it looks
like you have multiple different sort of shades of that
color on your house, depending on how much the sun
gets to hit it. Now, speaking of colors, what's what
kind of color selection do people have when they choose
Ryder shield?

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Sometimes too many We have fifteen, right, we have thirty
shades of green. So it was sometimes a little bit
difficult to dial in the color that someone would want,
but we make sure that we apply samples to ensure
that you're getting the right color and you're making the
right decision.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Well, I suppose it's important that this is professionally done
and your your guys know what they're doing. Is there
much prep work that has to be done before you
apply the Rhino shield to the home?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Absolutely?

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Prep work is the key ingredient to this whole whole system.
You know, with you know, pressure washing, handscraping down the surfaces,
you're just ensuring that you're getting a nice substrict to
receive our coating.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
And I guess I think about my deck most notably.
I don't know if do you do deck coding, because
I remember when I had it was solid stained paint
and I made the mistake of go in that direction
and every single year I was out there repainting my deck.
Does Rhino Shield offer deck coding as well?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yes, we have a it's called protect Deck.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
It's it's a Rhino Shield product that we code on decks,
just the same application as.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
We do with our regular Rhino Shield.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
But it's not actually, uh, you know, the same Rhino
shield that we stick on our exterior walls.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
That's all right, but I'm sure it lasts longer than
the stuff that I was putting down.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I hated that too. Absolutely, Yeah, it's formulated for you
to walk on. Yes, all right.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
So now in terms of is there sort of some
environmental benefit that that goes along with rhino shield.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Absolutely, it's a low e product.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
These walls will never you know, reach over ninety five
degrees to touch, which is just going to be a
remarkable savings on your energy bills in the summertimes. Is
to keep that wall cooler than normal because sometimes you know,
walls get up to one hundred and thirty hundred and
forty degrees to touch. It's just gonna take a lot
less energy keeping a ninety five degree.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Wallo Oh, well, that's wonderful to know. Yeah, walls do
you get really hot. So there's your energy benefit as well.
And I get this also is a true investment in
your home because if you don't, I mean, if you could,
if you put your house for sale and say, you
know what, I got a twenty five year guaranteed stain
on that that is not going to go anywhere. So
it does provide a fabulous investment.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Absolutely, it keeps you from that five year cycle of
repainting your house in over a twenty five year period,
that's going to get awful expensive.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Ours is a.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
One shot and you're done and you can just rest
assure that you're getting a quality product for the life
that you're going.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
To own your home.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
How long does it take to paint the average home?
And I guess obviously depends on how much surface needs
to be painted. But is this a multi day process
with the prep work that has to be done. I
have to imagine it's not just like slapping a code
of paint up.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
We usually start on a Monday and generally we're wrapped
up by Friday, Saturday at the very latest.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
So uh the idea of rhino shield uh? And and
and its energy benefits, I mean I really really love that.
Is it a durable in the sense like more so
than paint? Like you know, a kid hitting a baseball
or you're chipping a golf ball in the back, I mean,
you might damage your paint. Does it have a but
the name suggest it's like your rhino shield? So does

(06:21):
it carry with it that benefit as well?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (06:25):
And the reason is is that a traditional you know,
coatings or paints that.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
You fly on. Houses are typically dry about a mill
mill and a half.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Ours is eight to ten mills dry. So it's a
thick coating that's going on this building and it's really
protecting the exterior of your wood and cardi board and
things like that.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Now, do you serve the entire Tri state region? I
know you have Louisville elections at and Cincinnati offices. What's
the what's the geographic boundaries for your company?

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Wherever the radio at TV reaches and those markets, that's
where we travel to. So you know, we could be
in southeastern Kentucky as you know, the same day as
you know being in Cincinnati.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Oh, that's fantastic.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, our our market is quite large.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
