Speaker 1 (00:00):
Greetings and welcome to the broadcast. Well, it's been quite
a week in the political world, going back to about
a week ago when Donald Trump was nearly assassinated at
his political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Now, obviously, whatever one's
(00:25):
views of Trump may be, no one wants to see
anybody get shot. And that's the situation here. A lot
of mystery and controversy he's still surrounding the entire situation.
Apparently this shooter is twenty year old Thomas Matthew Crooks,
was seen roaming around the area prior to the event,
(00:48):
and he was even seen up on the roof of
the building where he took the shots, and nobody did
anything to stop him. One police officer tried, but fell
off the roof and seriously injured his ankle. There have
been a lot of questions asked as to why this
secret service did not respond a little better to this
situation or prevent it from happening altogether.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
And that's probably a debate that's gonna drag on forever.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Trump himself was shot on the side of his ear,
and there was one innocent bystander in the crowd who
was shot and killed, and two others who were critically injured,
but the Secret Service did pounce relatively quickly, getting trumped
out on the stage in an effort to try to
(01:33):
protect him. Admittedly, there was a lot of seemingly a
lot of confusion as to who was doing what.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Especially there was.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
One copper agent or whatever in combat gear carrying a gun.
He was going back and forth like a crazy mine
on maneuvers, looking like he really didn't know what to do. Oh,
should I shoot somebody? Should I jump down on the crowd,
should I just do magic tricks?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Whatever?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
And I mean, then they got Trump up and they
got him into this group huddle, this group hugged to
protect him, and right away he's raising his fists yelling fight, fight, fight.
You know, leave it to the Donald to try to
turn an assassination attempt into a photo op. Eventually, the
(02:20):
Secret Service was able to drag him into an nearby
vehicle and get him out of there and get him
to the hospital to have his ear looked at. And
you know, again there's still a lot of confusion as
to the shooter. He is not one you would think
would become an assassin. The twenty year old, according to
(02:42):
most people He's a very quiet guy, never really socialized
too much with people, kind of stuck to himself. No
radical postings on social media or any manifestos that he
published that would indicate that he was about ready to
go out and shoot somebody. The rifle that he used
was like a AR fifteen style gun that he had
(03:04):
taken from his father's collection apparently and used in this shooting.
The only other details coming through that this guy had
any interest in guns whatsoever was that he tried to
join the rifle team I guess in high school, and
he was kicked off because he was such a bad shot.
He was considered dangerous to the other people on the
team in bystanders. So obviously does not really know how
(03:29):
to use a gun, and he is one you would
not expect to become an assassin.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
It was also what some are calling like bomb making
material that was found in his vehicle, which again is
kind of mystifying, because by all accounts, he really did
not know how to make a bomb. I kind of
wonder if he did not act completely alone in this
situation that someone else was hu should we say, putting
(03:56):
a bug in his ear to do this. I have
no proof of this statement. I don't think there ever
will be any proof of this statement, but it seems
to me that someone else was behind this with him.
There was something that happened, maybe some sort of incident
with a MAGA supporter or something that pissed him off,
and he suddenly decides, you know what, I'm gonna go
shoot Trump. He did call his job saying that he
(04:19):
wouldn't be into work that day because he had something
to do.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Well there's the understatement of.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
The year, but he would be back the following day,
so he he obviously thought that he would shoot Trump
and climb down off the roof.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
And go back to life as normal.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I don't know what would make him think that he
will be back to work the next day and not
get caught or something, but he felt that everything was
gonna be cool, which it was not. And of course,
once the dust had settled, I'm understanding that Trump is
now going to be marketing sneakers, which I guess what
(04:57):
commemorate the assassination attempt. These high top sneakers have a
picture of him on the side with his bloody face
after the shooting, and that the words fight, fight, fight,
okay really I mean, somebody was killed at this event,
an innocent person was gunned down, to other people seriously injured,
and you're you're pedaling sneakers to honor the occasion.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
What's next? Is it gonna be like a commemorative coin.
Is it gonna be posters and T shirts? Probably? Who knows?
Speaker 1 (05:31):
And this makes me wonder is this gonna change Trump's
view concerning gun rights and gun control? He's always been
a big one, you know, promising people that we're not
gonna take away your guns, You're gonna keep your guns,
and no matter what you know, you're gonna have the
assault weapons.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
YadA, YadA, YadA.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
All is good, but considering that an assault type weapon
almost splattered.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
His brains all over the floor, you would seem to.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Believe that it might generate a change in mindset for him.
I doubt it, but that's you know, we'll see. But nonetheless,
everything goes on from this point. That includes the current election,
which brings me to the next phase of this conversation,
(06:22):
in that Joe Biden, as most of you probably know,
has dropped out of the election, and it's probably a
good thing. As I have mentioned, I do support the man,
but some of his issues lately concerning his health is troubling,
and there's really no way that he could defeat Trump
(06:45):
in his current state, especially considering that disastrous performance at
the recent debate, and of course, being the asshole that
he is. Trump had nothing nice to say concerning Biden
(07:05):
dropping out.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
You would think that.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Nearly having his brains blown out, Trump would maybe develop
a little bit of humility and a different view of life.
But now now he's still the childish, ranting idiot that
he always is on his truth, social and whatnot. He stated,
he's babbling on about the crook of Joe Biden, and
Joe Biden was the worst president ever and he's stepping down, goodbye.
(07:33):
It's unbelievable what he did to the country. Blah blah blah,
blah blah. You know, the usual childish tantrums that the
Donald is known to throw, first and foremost. You could
act like a statesman for once, although it is doubtful
if he could even spell the word, and wish Biden well,
(07:56):
and mentioned the fact that Biden has served many, many
years in public service to this country in different capacities,
which Trump has not. He's only served himself mostly over
the years, so you could mention that and just say
best of luck on all your endeavors and move on.
But no, you got to turn it into a rant.
(08:20):
And then he goes on about the crooked Joe Biden
and that is laughable considering that he was found liable
in a sexual assault civil trial and he is a
convicted felon of many many what thirty somewha counts, and
he's calling Joe Biden crooked. Honestly, you got a wonder
(08:43):
is Trump that fucking dnse? Is there no grip on
reality here? He just can't accept responsibility for almost anything.
He's He's like the five year old kid who sits
on the tour and takes a shit and then waits
(09:03):
and demands for somebody to come and wipe his ass
for him, which may actually happen on a daily basis,
who knows. And then he has the utter audacity to
come out and say that Biden had the worst presidency
in history. No, Donald, your presidency or how shall I say,
(09:24):
a clown show might be a better comparison, was considered
to be one of the worst terms of any president
in history, and there are numbers to back that up.
Despite the lies, and that the rhetoric that he delivered
at the Republican National Convention, which was yet another clown show,
(09:46):
to be quite honest, and he feels that he is
one of history's greatest presidents, which he's not even close
to being one of the greatest presidents.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
There is at no.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Point time will you ever see Trump's face on Mount Rushmore.
I'd be doubtful if you've ever if you'd ever see
his face on a sand sculpture at the beach, To
be quite honest, and if I can continue on my
tangent here, I have mentioned this before and I will
mention it again and again and again as long as
(10:21):
we have to put up with this bullshit that considering
he is a convicted felon, okay, there is a there's
a conviction on the table here. This is not accused,
this is not suspected, This is not a person of interest.
He has been convicted of these felonies of whatever inappropriate
ship that he did. I'm am not going to recite
(10:41):
all the details and bore you into a catatonic state.
But he has no place in the Oval Office of
the White House of the United States of America, where he.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Belongs is in a cell.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
What a guy named Bubba, who's gonna make him his
little buddy, that's rebelongs. There have been some great men
throughout history in this country who have become president, who
have served the office. Well I mean not all of them, No,
not all of them, but by and large, most of
them did their job, and they did their job honorably
(11:24):
and professionally. And again I'm going to use the word
statesmen me because that's what most of them were. If
you go back and you listen to some of the
speeches of presidents years ago, John F. Kennedy, the speech
that FDR gave when he declared war in Japan, They're eloquent,
(11:44):
they're well spoken, they're educated, they know how to talk
and how to communicate. It's not this childish, bullshit rant
that we're getting from the Donald. And I can absolutely
guarantee you that not a single one of them ever
said they were interested in dating their own daughter.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Just saying so.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Before I hyperventilate here, let me just try to summarize
a few of my points. One, the attempted assassination was
a tragedy all around. Fortunately Trump was not killed. I
would never want to see anyone killed over their political
whatever it.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Is they call it.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
No, there's no there's no excuse for gunning down anybody period.
So but but but but but but he survived, And
I was kind of expecting maybe to be like a
change in him, but there wasn't.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
He's worse. If anything.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
He's rambling on that, by the grace of Almighty God,
he survived. No, he survived by the fact that the
bullet didn't go a half inch more to the right.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
That's how he survived.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
It's kind of called dumb luck in the fact that
this kid really wasn't a very good shooter anyways. Is
his high school rifle team would attest. So it is
it is time for Donald Trump to go away. It
looks as though, and thankfully, it looks as though Kamala
Harris is gonna be the nominee for the Democratic Party,
(13:22):
which is good because I have stated before that I
would like to see her in a position to become president.
I think she can handle the job very well. I
think when push comes to shove, she can do the job.
I don't think she's gonna take anyone's shit, which is
a good thing considering how dangerous and how unstable the
world is getting. Many of us don't realize it, but
(13:43):
things are not good in the world. We need somebody
as the leader of the world, at least we're supposed
to be. We need somebody in charge who's first of
all stable and who can get the job done and
not carry on and rant and throw childish ant drums
and call this reporter a bad reporter and that reporter
(14:03):
a bad reporter.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Just answer the damn questions when you're asked, move on
and get things done. We don't need excuses.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
We don't need a bah bah. We don't need you
signing stupid executive orders and then holding them up for
everyone to see like you're some kid who just completed
an art project in kindergarten. No, we need a real
professional in the Oval office.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
And that is not Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Having said all that, as you could probably imagine, I'm
most likely gonna vote for Harris if she's the Democratic nominee,
and hopefully she will win, because there are many who
are very knowledgeable in the political scene and government who
(14:52):
have stated at point blank that another Trump administration would
be a very bad thing for this country. And they
weren't mincing words when they said. It wasn't you know,
a half joking comment. It was serious, and it is serious,
and it's time to take it serious. It's time to
turn things around, you know. No more insurrections or a
bunch of you know, childish idiots who want to overthrow
(15:16):
the government when they don't get their way.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Now those days are over.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
So enough on of that carrying on, let me just
mosey along here and talk about a story and actually
a video that I saw recently concerning this local convenience
store chain known as Sheets.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
They're they're popularly here in Pennsylvania.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Actually I believe they got their start in Pennsylvania and
they've since moved outward to a few other states.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
But in a.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Sheets Comedians store recently, a customer went in and tried
to purchase some products with a fifty dollars bill that
was older.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Than nineteen nine.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Well, the cashier refused to take the money because, as
she stated, Sheets has a policy they do not accept
any bills older than nineteen ninety. In short, if you
get old money, they're not going to take it at Sheets.
(16:21):
So apparently, I guess Sheets thinks they're above federal law
concerning US currency which anything from nineteen fourteen onward, if
it's still in circulation is considered legal tender. You have
to take it. But again Sheets thinks they're exempt for
(16:44):
whatever reason. You know, we're all familiar with some places
of business that do not take big bills like hundreds
for whatever reason, which I think that's ludicrous too, But
in this case, they're not accepting anything, even a five
dollar bills if it's old.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
I guess they never heard of the expression old money whatever.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
And of course it should be noted that Sheets is
an operation that at one time had a policy of
not hiring people for positions with the company.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
If they had bad teeth.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Now that is a form of discrimination, and I believe
there was some sort of a suit or something which
had that policy overturned.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
So they don't do that anymore.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
But this stupidity of not taking old money, you know,
they probably take you know, bitcoin, they probably do that, right,
but they won't take the ancient bills.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
It would seem that the upper echelon.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Of the Sheets chain needs to educate themselves on the
precedures and laws concerning currency in the United States of America,
which they are obviously not from me, but here's here's
an idea.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Here's a suggestion.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
If you need to go to a comedience story to
buy I don't know, hot dog, a soda, or maybe
a box of condoms, and you have old money on
you older than nineteen ninety, don't go to Sheets, that's all.
Go send Blaze else, because there are plenty of places
out there. I'll be more than happy to take.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Your old money. Sheets won't well give the business to
somebody else. That's all there is to it.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Maybe if they start losing enough business because of their refusal.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
They'll wise up.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
But until that time, there are still plenty of places
to go shopping with currency that is just a little
bit past its prime.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
So in the.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Remaining a few minutes here in the broadcast, let me
just touch on a subject I don't think I've hit
on lately, and that's my One of my favorites is
fast food, and in particular go to McDonald's the clown cuisine.
Day before yesterday, I went into one of the local
(19:10):
McDonald's for a breakfast sandwich. Actually I needed to get
two of them, one for me and one for a friend,
and I ordered two of the egg, cheese bacon bagel
whatever the goddamn things are. So the nice girl, you know,
she takes my order and then she rings it up
and the total for the two sandwiches comes out around
(19:31):
thirteen dollars. At first I thought I misheard her, and
then I looked at the little digital display on the
cash register and it's showing the amount that she had
told me.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
I couldn't believe it. I almost I almost shit.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
My pants over thirteen dollars for two sandwiches.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Good God.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
And the thing of it was, the sandwiches weren't even
that good when I got them.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
One of them.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
The bagel was so hard it was like riga mortis
had set in. You could use the damn thing as
a weapon if you're being attacked and actually hurt my
teeth to bite into the thing.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Christ I should sue for personal injury and breathement or whatever.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Now I understand that everything prices has gone up. It
costs money to operate a business. Yes, I get that
you got to pay your people decent wages, and McDonald's
has raised their wages for some of their employees, which
I can understand. I mean, you can't even make a
living on what they're probably making now, even with the
increased money they're taking in. But good god, really, what
(20:43):
does it cost them to make one of those sandwiches?
Like maybe a buck and a half when you consider
all the what goes into it.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Christ Now we're at the point where you get two choices.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
You can either eat at McDonald's for a year or
buy yourself a ferrari.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
As you it will probably cost you less to buy
the ferrari.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
So needless to say, I am probably not gonna be
going back to McDonald's anytime soon unless I take out
a loan in order to get my food.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
But anyways, so.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Before I close out here, let me let me just
touch on one final thought. I having to glance over
at the headlines scrolling on the little computer screen on
the console that Fleet was so nice to provide me with,
and I have I saw this news story come across
that was telling me a Trump supporter was putting a
(21:38):
Trump sign out in his front yard and some guy
came along took down his Trump sign. Well, the Trump
supporter put the sign back up, and this guy proceeded
then to run over the Trump supporter whin an ATV, seriously.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Injuring the man. And it's like, no, no, we don't
do this sort of thing.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
You may not agree with somebody's political affiliations, and as
you know, I'm not a fan of Trump, but we
don't go running over their supporters or hurting them or
injuring them. No, we don't, we don't do that sort
of thing. Okay, that's not appropriate. Obviously, Now that the
guy with the ATV is in a lot of trouble
overdoing something stupid which he should not have done, in
common sense should dictate right there. But let's let's try
(22:19):
to keep the remainder of this this campaign season, the
remainder of this election Season's let's try to keep.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
It civil, shall we.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
There's no need to hurt anyone because of their political
affiliations or beliefs. You know, we may not agree with
each other, but let's just leave it at that. No,
no injury, no no hurting. Okay, So that's just not good,
not good, not good. Hopefully the man the Trump supporter
will be okay. I have not seen any updates as
far as his condition, but it was not good from
(22:50):
what I understand. But anyways, on that note, it is
now time for me to sign off and run out
the door. Here like that, thank you for once again
taking the time to listen to this glorious festivities that
we have here on this podcast, like remind you to
please feel free to subscribe, because it is free to subscribe,
(23:12):
and as I always point out, there's not much as
free anymore in life. It's certainly not food from McDonald's.
So until next time, take care, be nice, be happy,
and so long for now, bye bye
