(00:01):
Do you have a favorite scripture,You'll go to scripture one that keeps you
in track with the path God haslaid out before you. I have a
few go to scriptures that I useoften. Welcome to a woman's place,
(00:26):
girl, Get up. This isDonna. I'm gonna share a few of
my favorite scriptures in just a moment. I like that beat. Do you
(01:08):
like that beat? I do likeit. As I said before the beat
came on, I'm Donna and thisis a woman's place. Girl, Get
up? How are you doing today? How are things going for you today?
Pray all is well? Whatever dayit is. I'm recording on one
day, but you may be listeningon another day. Thank you for listening.
(01:30):
I appreciate it. I'm going tobe doing the next few days,
a few weeks. Praise bullet points. Praise bullet points. Just a moment,
just a moment, just like that, to kind of stimulate our thinking,
(01:52):
to have us to think a littlebit more about who we are and
how we are and what we're doingand how we're doing. I told you
I have a few favorite scriptures, and one of those favorite scriptures I go
to scriptures two Corinthius five twenty onewhich reads in the King James version.
And I like the King James versionbecause I love the language. The language
(02:16):
is lyrical to me, it's beautiful. But I understand the ducks and the
these and the dowels and the doesertdoes it doesn't one? Well, those
words that we no longer use oldEnglish words can trip up a reader and
(02:37):
slow a reader down and make themwonder what in the world are they talking
about? But I love King James. So I'm going to quote from King
James. He whom you know sinbecame sin for us that we might become
the righteousness of God in him,he being Jesus, God being the Father.
(02:57):
It is the posts. Can Iput it that way? To Calvary,
he who knew no sin became theatoning sacrifice for our sin, took
on our sin. We had adebt we could not pay. He paid
a debt he did not. Oh, I think I messed that up.
But you get the drift. Sothis particular scripture, as I said,
(03:21):
I use it quite a lot.I re memborized it many years ago in
a course I was taking the Evangelismmovement, and it was a study.
It was six courses. I believe, and you started at the basics,
and salvation is never basic. Andyou went all the way up. And
(03:44):
He taught you how to share thegospel, and he taught you the scriptures
to share, and he taught you, taught you about the gift. We
often speak of him John three sixteenwithout really getting the entire drift of that
text of chapter three. But Idigress my favorite scription. As I said,
(04:04):
I memorized this verse many years ago. But I had a few years
ago a moment of revelation about thisverse and the Philippians one and six.
Work God is doing in us,he will complete it till the day of
Jesus Christ. He that has beguna good work, and you will complete
(04:26):
it till the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians won six. I had a
revelation as I thought about taking Corinthiusfive twenty one, and as I thought
about Philippians one six, you knewno sin became sin for us, that
we might become the righteousness of Godin Him. And then He that hath
begun a good work in you willperform it till the day of Jesus Christ.
(04:47):
And this is the revelation I hadactually it's been longer than a few
years. I can't even remember fiveyears or so. Since then, I've
seen kind of the same thing byother people. But I want you to
know this was my thought many yearsago, and I have people who can
(05:08):
say, yes, she was atthe conference and she shared that. But
I digress again. So let's go. Here's what came to me out of
these two verses. As I ponderedthe verses. Not like Edgar Allen Pole's
speaker in the poem The raven Is, he pondered, I don't know,
(05:33):
we can weary. I'm digressing again, am I? Not? All right?
So let's get back. What didGod give to me about these two
scriptures? Here's what he gave me. The extraordinary Jesus became ordinary flesh that
we either ordinary flesh might become extraordinaryin him. The extraord ordinary became ordinary,
(06:01):
that weither ordinary, might become extraordinaryin him. Just let that marinate
for a while. Sit on thatfor a moment, and think about that.
Philippians four pin thirteen says I cando all things through Christ, who
strengthens me. I can do extraordinarythings, things beyond the ordinary, simply
(06:23):
because I do it In Christ. What was the word to Paul when he
was complaining? Garius the word complainingwhen he prayed to God three times about
this throwing in the flesh. It'skeeping me from being as effective as I
would like to be. I don'tknow how much more effective Paul could have
been. But hey, maybe I'mmaking a supposition here. But again,
(06:48):
Paul said, and here's what Godsaid to me. I've forgiving me this
wondrous vision. Here's what he saidto me. Nope, yes, I
know that's not in the text, but that pretty much was God's answer.
In other words, God says, you must rely on me every step of
(07:12):
the way. And as you relyon me, as you trust me,
as you move, move, andhave your being in me. Remember this.
My grace is sufficient. And Paulsays, I get it in my
weakness. I am made strong becauseof your grace. And that's a word
(07:35):
for us today. In my weakness, I am made strong because of God's
grace. Isn't that something? Ican do all things through Christ who strengthens
me. And it can be translated, I can endure all things through Christ
(07:58):
who strengthens me. Trust in theLord Proverbs three, with all your heart
to lean not to your own understanding. Oh, my goodness, my understanding
is so limited, so limited towhat I can see now, what I
can hear now. Cannot look beyondthe four walls of the house. I
(08:22):
can look outside the windows, butI cannot see past the house across the
street to see what's going on overthere. Trust in the Lord with all
your heart, lean not to yourown understanding in all, in all,
it means all. That's all,in all your ways, acknowledge him,
(08:43):
and he will direct your path.He will make your path straight. So
that's it. That's my favorite scripture, one of my favorites, one of
my go tos. Do you haveone? If you do, in the
comments, let me know. Butyour go to scripture is you may even
(09:03):
have a life scripture. What's yourlife scripture? Put it in the comments,
my life scripture. I'm so gladyou asked Luke nine twenty three,
and he said, unto them all, if anyone would come after me,
let him deny himself, take uphis cross and follow me daily. Yes,
I know those are masculine pronouns.Remember I like King James, And
(09:26):
I'm not offended because i know I'mincluded in that statement. God is not
parcel, He's not playing favorites. So as we come to the end of
another podcast, I thank you forlistening. I thank you for your encouragement,
(09:50):
and I pray that what I shareis being an encouragement. By the
