Speaker 1 (00:07):
It's Wednesday. You know what that means. It's time for
all the talk with the a W Fan HUBB podcast team.
This is Kelson and I'm here with m K m K.
This episode. We're not gonna talk about everything. We're just
gonna hit some points that we'll have like a pote
pori at the end. But this episode kind of started
off hot with FDR in the ring.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
What did you think about this segment?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, once we got pack to once we got past
the mic issues, it was a good little segment between
the two. It's good to see. Uh it's weird to
say C and Z, but I'm just gonna say the
E and C connection back together and doing things and
sneak attacking and working well together. Uh, it's it's a
(00:56):
little it's a little vintage feel that I love to
to be a part of.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
So yeah, I enjoyed it. FTR is just they're built
for heel work. I'm sorry, I think they're really good
as I think they're good as baby bass. I am
not saying that they're not, but they are just especially
DA's hardwood. I mean he is just just he drips
(01:23):
heelish stuff on the mic and Look, this got me
looking forward to C and C against FTR all out. Look,
I'm gonna go a little bit off script here, but
when you think about it, when you think about it,
(01:43):
we had, you know, right after the FTR segment, we
had a Darby segment where he literally challenged John Moxley
to a match It all out Now. Wheeler Yuda later
in the show said no. But my point on this
is that, like at the first fifteen or so minutes
(02:05):
of the show, I mean, you know that Moxley and
Darby is going to happen, even though ye, at the
first fifteen minutes of the show we got two matches
for the next paper be already set to me, that's big,
that's big.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah. Yeah, It's better than I normally do. And I
will say that I think the two will put on
a great match. I think what they're doing is okay
with the Death Riders and and Darby. Darby's putting his
life on the line there nearly every week for this feud.
And yeah, and it's the one thing yeah, yeah, yeah,
(02:40):
when doesn't.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yeah, Darby could go to bed and put his life
on the line.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I mean, come on, he just plops down on the
on the bed in the night and yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Probably it probably slips sleeps out of bed of nails. Yeah,
but look, well look let's move on because I want
to talk about the women's tag match. We had Megan
Bain Penelope Forward against Chris Statlander and Harley Cameron. Uh,
interesting kind of thing going on here was The ending
was really interesting. Yeah, I don't know. To me, it
(03:19):
seemed like Willow was protecting Meghan Baine and not help
helping Chris Statlander. It just and I think they did
that on purpose, you know what I mean. Does he
want to make sure that, oh they're not just gonna
hug it out like Christian and Copeland did. Willa's gonna
have to earn it, and so is Statlander. You know,
(03:40):
I think this is interesting.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah, I yeah, I really do think that this is
a good little feud. I've been discussing people about Meghan
Bane and some people out there Phil Meghan Baine has
been doing nothing, and I don't know why that is,
because she's been made to look pretty darn good. She's
still one of the top people in the division. I
(04:02):
think with or without championship, she doesn't need a championship
right now, and she's doing she's doing good, and I
think Willow and stat together will be it's an interesting tale.
Will they won't they trust issues?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah, I mean I have to interrupt you because what
you just said is something that's really important, because look,
we have a topic on the AW fan Hub subredit
right now discussing should the AW Men's World Champion and
the AW Women's World Champion defend on every pay per view?
(04:41):
The answer was split, yes and no. I mean we
did have a pay per view recently Double or Nothing
where Moxley did not defend the AW Men's championship. Remember
they had anarchy in the arena that he participated in that.
But my point is is that this is yet another feud,
(05:02):
you know with Megan Bain uh and Chris Statlander or
whatever is going on here. This is another area where
there's no belts evolved. And we already talked about to
FDR and Cope and Christian there's no belt involved there. Yeah,
Darby Allen and John Moxley, there's no belt involved there.
(05:25):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah. You don't have to have a belt to make
a match special.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, and if and if uh hang a man took
a break from this one. I wouldn't be opposed to
it or or do a number one Contenders match. You know,
it doesn't bomb because it had to be a pay
view with him because I felt that, I felt that
another people do think that, and it needs to be
(05:53):
a main attraction. But with Tony Storms, she's kind of
running out too of people who.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
You know, yeah, yeah, yeah, well, you know, speaking of
the Men's World Championship, we had Hagman Adam Paige doing
in ring promo interrupted by Don Kallis. So it looks
like if if hang Man Adam Paige is going to
have a match at all out, it's going to be
(06:21):
against somebody from the Don Kallis family. Now there's a
chance it won't be hang Man Adam Page versus somebody
from the Don Kallis family. It could very well be
hang Manaddam Page and Kenny Omega against somebody against two
people from the Don Kallis family. Uh, what do you
think about that? What would you rather see Hangman solo
(06:42):
or Hangman in at tag with Kenny.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Omega, Hangman attack with Kenny Omega. I'm af for Kenny
on pay per views. I think Kenny needs to be
a special attraction guy much like some of the you know,
other big names that wrestling have been and saved him,
and those two have history together and that little cool
move they did at the end was reminiscent of their
(07:06):
olden days and stuff. So I wouldn't mind seeing that.
Like I said before, I don't I don't need hanging
out on every pay per view defending it and and
just give him some more things to do. And the
don Callis Family will be interesting and who they pick
will be interesting because there's there's a little bit of
(07:26):
turmoil in between the don Callis family. If you haven't noticed, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Mean, did you notice that there was a little bit,
like you said, of turmoil between Takeshta and Okada. And
I'd like to see that match with a definitive baby
face and a definitive view, which you know people. Again,
we've had discussions about this on the aw fan hub subreddit.
(07:52):
We made a post a couple of days ago asking Okay,
Osprey and Swerve strictly her out by the way, best
wishes to swear strictly. He did have his meniscus surgery
earlier today, but by and large with Osprey and Strickland out.
(08:13):
We asked who needs to step up, and by and large,
the the consensus pick was Kenoski Takeshta. He was the
most offense mentioned. But when they mentioned him, they did
say A lot of people did say do a face
turn h I think would work as a face he
really does. He doesn't need to speak, he doesn't need
(08:35):
to do promos. He's just that damn good.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
He's already a baby face in my eyes, he's a.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah, you know, I think you're right because you know,
you can't help a cheer for the guy. Yet he
just got that charisma. I guess he's.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
So talented and stuff. You don't really there's been a
lot of stand alone Japanese guys who can't speak a
whole lot of He does fine, but there's been a
lot of good people out there who just don't need
a expokesperson. And he's so talented. You know, he'll go
up against the Kada and he's not meshing well with Wardlow,
(09:14):
So I think it's on his own, right, I really do,
And he'll do fine.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, you know, And he doesn't necessarily have to go
on his own. He can definitely get a connect team
partner as well. You know why not? Why not?
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Yeah, he can do just that, you know. But but Causelin,
how do you feel about Wardlow being with Don Callas?
Is it too much Dallas family? You know?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
I think Don callous even tonight when he said, you know,
I I have a half the roster under contract, I
think he was kind of eluding or hinting to the
fact that I'm not going to have the half the
roster under contract for very much longer. I think there's
gonna be people like Takeshta that are going to leave.
And if to takes somebody from the Don Collis family
(10:02):
as his tag team partner with him, I don't know,
but you never know what's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, I like Wardlow in there because because Wardlow kind
of needs a mouthpiece himself. He just needs to stay
healthy and have car accidents and stuff. Look, he's a
prime guy to take under his wing. But if you
notice about Don Callas, all of us big prime people
(10:29):
end up leaving him anyway. Yeah, he doesn't keep his
big guys. And Ocado went fairways and then went back
and I think it's very.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Well, we lost you. But anyway, I want to go
on to our pote Parie section. One of the things
that I wanted to talk about, just very briefly was
the interaction between mean Tony Storm and Mina shear Kala,
because I thought that they did that brilliantly, because you know,
(11:06):
Mina shir Kawa had a broken hand. Now, whether that
was true or kay fabe that she just took time
off and used a broken hand as an excuse, I
don't know. But I love the way Tony Storm said,
how's your hand doing? Basically at minas her college just
hauled up and slapped her across the face, and Tony
(11:26):
Summer's like, my god, you're back. I thought that was great. Yeah,
I did. I thought it was terrific. Is there anything
that you wanted to point out about the show?
Speaker 2 (11:40):
You know, I told people I thought it was an
okay pay per view. My popo ri is something I
really wish that Gabe Kid would get away from the
death writers. In my opinion, I want to see a
different side of him, and right now he feels like
a lackey. And what happened at the end of that
(12:01):
little thing when Darby getting away made me, I don't know,
feel a little different way about him, Like, what are
they doing with him? Are they wasting him? Do you
know much about him? Kelson?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Well, why I know that. Actually Fightful had a report
about Gabe Kid, I believe earlier today. It may have
been yesterday, but I believe it was earlier today, saying
that Gave Kid is still under contract with New Japan
Pro Wrestling, and they did not have a timeframe as
far as how long his contract is for, in other words,
(12:36):
how long he's going to be remaining under contract with
New Japan. But they also did say that he is
considered a full time member of the Death Writers as well.
So when it comes to Gave Kid, I don't think
that because he's under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling,
I don't think that they are able to make him
(12:59):
more than what you can call him a lackey, because
he's not gonna be able to stick around long enough
to do a long, you know, storyline. He can participate
in a long storyline, but he can't be like a
main character. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Well, just how Darby escaped him pretty darn easy tonight,
and he seems so milk toasted. But I don't know,
he just hasn't caught on to me. And I heard
he does some great matches alone. With Kenny Omega's first
match back, I heard he was amazing, but I just
haven't seen that spark yet. Maybe if he ever gets
a chance to come to AW he can be that person.
(13:37):
But I just I just haven't seen it yet yet,
and I want more out of him. If he's going
to be that guy, well.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I think what you're going to see and I think
what they're hoping for is uh Eddie Kingston to come back,
because it was the match against Eddie Kingston that with
Gay Kidd that gave kid, you know. I mean sure
it wasn't intentional, but it was during that match that
Gabe Kid injured Eddie Kingston and that's why Eddie Kingston
(14:05):
has been out this entire time. So I'm sure that
they're going to have a rivalry. And I think they're
just biting time with Gabe Kid because they don't want him.
I mean, think about it. If Eddie Kingston does come back,
you know, anytime soon. With some people are saying he is,
(14:25):
and some people are saying, don't hold your breath, you know,
but you never know. These are just some people, These
aren't you know, a w or Eddie Kingston saying this,
But what I'm saying is, if Eddie Kingston Dunk does
come back, Gave Kid is the ready made feud. That
is the ready made feud, And it would be a
(14:48):
shame if Eddie came back and Gabe Kid really wasn't
available for a few because he's, you know, dedicating his
time to something else in a w So you know
that's that. I think that when Eddie does come back,
it's gonna be more kind of a thing where he
comes back and doesn't really have matches right away. He's
(15:11):
gonna probably have like shouting matches and maybe a few
fisticuffs in the middle of the ring where he knocks
somebody out with an elbow or a punch or whatever,
poking the eye. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Just like I would like to see Eddie come back
as more as a manager type and less wrestle. I
know that would And it's not just because he I
don't know, he's such a great mouthpiece, but I just
I just don't like seeing him wrestle as much. And
I don't think they need him right now.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
No, I think that I kind of agree with you
because let's face it, you know, and I've said it before.
I love Eddie Kingston as a mouthpiece. I love him,
you know, his personality, his his wrestling is not good.
I don't know, you know, Yeah, I mean, what I'm
(16:03):
just saying is I wouldn't even trying to be practical here.
When you look at the AAW roster, a guy like
Eddie Kingston kind of doesn't fit that well with a
lot of the guys that are in the AW roster.
I mean having him going against Ace Austin or Speedball,
Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight. You know, these are guys that
(16:26):
have a totally different style. Eddie is old school. These
guys are new and athletic, and that's just something that
you know, Athletic is not Eddie's style. Now, he's good
at what he does, but it just doesn't It just
doesn't match anybody. Yeah, however, however, I do think it
(16:48):
matches Gabe Kid, and I am looking forward to seeing
that play out. But after the game Kid thing.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Happens, Yeah, you know who's next done? Probably he has
some beef with him, probably Moxley.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
But again, you know, look, the way I look at
it is when you put somebody of the caliber against
like when you put somebody of the caliber like Moxley
against somebody like Eddie Kingston, suspension of disbelief goes out
the window because just looking at the two of them,
(17:25):
Moxley would kill him in a real fight.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Yeah yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
And and he should kill him in you know, wrestling match.
I mean, it's you know, I'm trying not to say
bad things here, but I really, really really think that
that's where where this needs to go. Is you know,
Eddie Kingston against Gabe Kid and and and then just
(17:54):
maybe special appearances. I don't know. I just I think
it's I think it's passed him by. You know, look,
there's wrestlers in w w WE that have been passed
by you know, there's wrestlers in in indies that have
been passed by Oh yeah, you know. You know now, now,
Eddie Kingston could come back and we don't know, he'd
(18:18):
maybe been you know, with these weird injuries and stuff
that he's had over the years. I'm sure he could
come back. He's been gone for a year and he's
been training. He could come back and be Darby Allen
the Second for all we know. You know, we so
we got to wait and see. Do I think you
will be No, but we'll see.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
I call it for older wrestlers to come back and
bounce back.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Yeah it's tough, yeah yeah, but but yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I mean, look at Kenny Omega. He's came back, but
he didn't. I don't want to downplay the guy, but
he didn't look his best tonight. I don't know if
he just had a shade. Uh. Some people were joking
online that he looked like Rodney d Ram from the
Wrestler tonight just didn't look like himself was throw me off.
(19:11):
I don't know, but he didn't look right.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Yeah, well, you know some people just look, I'm gonna
be honest with you, MK. If I had gone through
with Kenny O make it, gone through, came back, had
a wrestling match in London, not only a wrestling match,
but a lights out, un sanctioned steel cage match, and
(19:37):
then I have to fly back from London to the
United States that appear on a show in Philadelphia. I'm
gonna be honest with you. I was thinking about it.
I was like, I hope these guys are not like
shell shocked and jet lagged, you know, you know, because look,
I couldn't do it. I mean if I did that,
what I say, what if I did that, if I
(19:58):
went to Forbidden Door not wrestled in it. If I
went to forbidden Door, yeah, and flew home to the
United States, you know, Forbidden Door was on Sunday. Today
is Wednesday. I'd still be wrecked. I'm sorry, Yeah, it is.
(20:20):
I can't drive two hours without being wrecked for a day.
I can't imagine doing that, you know. So you know,
look when you say something like Kenny Omega, maybe maybe
he didn't look good tonight, but I think there's a
valid reason for it. You know, maybe he's just freaking tired. Yeah,
(20:41):
and I hold that unfaulted, you know, at all for him,
you know, is taken out. So yeah, it was like
seventy four feet. I think it was the last time
we just that's what we did discuss last night. I
think we decided up seventy four feet last night.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yeah, of course to keep on ground.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah, it'll be eighty six next week. Yes, but you know,
when you look at it, I heard something saying that
like if you took your testines out and stretched it out,
it would have stretch to the mood or something like
some ridiculous thing like that. So what's the big deal
he had two feet of his intentions take it out?
I mean, soll what you know he's got more? Yeah,
(21:22):
you know, it's not like yeah, you know, if I
lost my finger or something, I still got you know,
tye more whatever. You know, come on, as long as
it's not my thumbs, you have to have the opposable
thumbss technically whatever. But anyway, is there anything else you
wanted to bring up in the potpourri?
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Nope, that's it.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
All right then, well, I guess we'll call this a night.
Thanks for listening, everybody, Thank you MK for coming in
and talking about it. And we will see you Tuesday
night for ignition on our discord. Everybody is invited to come.
We're gonna talk about some hot topics in aw see
(22:04):
you then. This is Kelson. Good night, everybody, Good night,
