Speaker 1 (00:08):
It's Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
You know what that means.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
It's time for all the talk with the aw Fan
podcast team. I'm here with Sutton and we just watched
AAW dynamite from Cleveland, Ohio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Wow, that's all I have to say.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
I mean, if you're trying to attract new viewers, Sutton,
I believe this is the way you do it.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
I mean, just overall, what did you think? Great show?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Really, really great show.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
I was really impressed this one compared to last week
was amazing. The difference in the shows.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
I was thoroughly entertained by like everything that happened, I
really was. It was just that it's been a really
long time since I felt that way. Let's us get
right to the review. I don't want to. I want
to just jump right into the first match on Moxley
versus Speedball Mike Bailey. The crowd was on fire for

(01:05):
this one for Bailey, and he didn't disappoint. This was
a really good match. They had really good chemistry together.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Yeah, I thought they did too. It was a lot
better match than I thought it was going to be.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Bailey really, you know, he looked like he could win
this match at any moment, and you know, he wasn't
bullied by Moxley. When he was bullied, he bullied right.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Back when he first came in. I wasn't sure because
I'd never seen him before, and some of the hype
that they did in the hype video kind of it
kind of made me think of Sean Michaels in the
old days. When I started to see him, there was
a couple of times it looked like that was what
he was going to be. He is nothing like that.
He is very, very good at what he does. Even
for his small size, he's impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
You know, the one thing that I will say that
I'm glad that they stopped is when he first came
into a w Speedball, Mike Bailey was doing those karate
poses or whatever he was, whatever you call them.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
He was doing them.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Way too much, and I thought it took away from
his wrestling. I mean, posing is one thing, Actually doing
it is another thing. So I'm glad he's gotten away
from doing that all the time. Yeah, and you know,
the one thing that stood out to me was the
pop that Bailey got in light of what happened last night.

(02:31):
I don't know if you're up on that, because I
know you were ill? Did you see the news story
with the apparent troubles between MVP and Speedball Mike Bailey.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
I saw an article I did not get to read.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I didn't see.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
I mean it was I saw it just before we
come on the show in our actual discord, and I
didn't get a chance to click on it.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, well tonight. Basically what happened was just to give
Fred anybody else is that a story broke last night
from Fightful Select that had been broken by and Jacob
was the guy's name he broke. And I can't remember
what organization he's from. And I apologize for that, I

(03:15):
sincerely do, because I do like giving credit where credit
is due. But I'm drawing a blank right now, and
I'm sorry. But I said that mbps B boy Mike
Bailey have a have a they don't like each other,
and and you know, it was was one of those things.
And in the back of my mind, I was thinking

(03:36):
to myself, is.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
This a work?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
And the reason why I thought it was a work,
because I think you maybe may agree with me on this,
is that I think the hurt syndingg it was intended
to be a heel faction, but for some reason, the
crowd likes them.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We talk about heel face factions all
the time, and it's not like it used to be.
They definitely are intended to be a heel faction, but
they're so damn likable, and I think it's just because
everybody is so glad to see them there. You know,
they're glad to see it. They're glad to see the
Hurt Syndicate in aew because everybody knows they weren't getting

(04:16):
used the way they should have been in WWE, and
here they're gonna have a chance to do what they
want to do. So yeah, and I kind of think
that a lot of stuff that they're doing right now
is work because you know, that chemistry with the with
the you know, Speedball and uh, I can't think of
his name. I just had it on tip of my
tongue to uh. Yeah, they've had a good chemistry and

(04:40):
they've had some good battles with them so far, and
you including a match that they put on together. So
I don't know if I'm buying into this hole they have.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
They have problems with each other, well, well there was
a big to do about it. I mean, it was
the biggest news that broke last night after after like
nine or ten o'clock. I mean, it was pretty fair
late last night Eastern time anyway, And when this broke
and fifel Select did a deep dive into it said that,

(05:09):
you know there are problems backstage and you know and
with between MVP and Lashly and Benjamin and whatnot. Well
tonight I was paying attention to it tonight just to
see if there was anything going on, and there was backstage.
It wasn't shown on Dynamite, but backstage they did a

(05:32):
little bit. You know, IAW does these backstage videos that
don't make it onto the show, but they're actually quite good,
and they put them on Twitter and whatnot, or they
end up out there in social media land. It was
a backstage segment where Mike Bailey was just standing there
and coming up from behind him, you know, his.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Back was turned.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Coming up from behind him was MVP, Shelton, Benjamin and
Bobby Lashley. MVP walks right up behind Mike Bailey says
f you Speedball. Of course he uses the word. He
says the word, and Bailey has a shittating grin on
his face and he says, f you two MVP, and

(06:17):
then MVP turns to the other guys and says guys,
and they kind of bowed their heads, and Benjamin says,
f you, Bailey, and then lastly says you Bailey, and
Bailey says f you two guys, and then they walk
away and.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
He went Bailey's waving at them.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
I thought it was hysterically funny, and it just kind
of proved that this was kind of a work and
that maybe they're overblown, maybe they don't particularly like each other,
but it's not like a world ending, you know, a
promotion breaking thing. You know, It's just one of those things.

(06:57):
And it was just a tongue in cheek bit that
was perfect, you know. I posted it on the aw
Fantom sub reddit for some reason. For some reason, the
audio got on sync because I posted it on Blue
Sky and it was perfect. I posted and somebody else
posted it on the discord, the Wrestling Hub discord.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Uh. But yeah, kind of kind of looked like that,
you know.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
So then we had a couple of backstage segments Alex
Windsor and Tony Storm backstage that was kind of a
standard stuff. But then you had something really cool between
Darby Allen and John Boxley where after the match with
with Boxley and Bailey, Darby Allen kind of kidnapped. I

(07:45):
guess the best way to put it Wheeler Utah or
you know, when you get bullied by Darby Allen, you
know you're kind of yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
I love you though, because he just out of nowhere.
I've bean with the thing on his put the the
plastic bag on his head and he was gone, and
it was like, oh my god, that was crazy. Yeah,
it's going to be interesting that. It's kind of interesting
to me that that's going to be as far as
we know so far, that's going to be h Darby's

(08:16):
return match.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Kind of weird, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Although I mean there's still what this isn't the fifty
at nineteen days, so they could give him a couple
of matches in between. But that seems kind of weird
to me that that's going to be his return match
right now. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Maybe, but you know, look look at look at it
this way.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
I mean, you know, you know, was in a I
guess it was either a plastic bag bag, yeah, a
body bag. They opened it up and he had taped
to his forehead. It's kind of disappointed that it wasn't stapled,
but it was taped to his.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Forehead and it just sad.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, it was a piece of paper that just said
Forbidden Door. So looks like we're gonna get Darby Allen
and John Moxley Forbidden Door. A good match, you know,
this is something I I definitely am gonna be looking
forward to. Then we had Mercedes Monaa parking Lot with
Renee Piquette, which led right into the TBS title four

(09:12):
way match.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Uh, you know.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Between Queen Amanada, Sky Blue, Billy Starks and Alex Windsor. Now, uh,
last night we were pretty much all saying, you know,
we were predicting Alex Windsor was going to win this match,
but then that's what happened.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
But this was a really good match.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
It was a good match. There was it was. It
was really good. I was you know, I thought the
same thing as soon as I knew it was going on.
I knew Alex was gonna win. I just I haven't
I feel bad for Queen Almanada a little bit because
it seems like she's been put in every one of
these matches to lose. Yeah, you know, I mean she's

(09:58):
been in the last four or five of these four
women matches and they and she's always losing. I mean,
but then again, there was there were some unclean spots
in this match too. There were some match spots that
I think they kind of didn't work the way they
were supposed to. I mean, they.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Covered her with professionalism, yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
I mean that was good. But the worst one was
the one with the Scott Blue in the chair. I
was like, seriously, you're gonna not be able to climb
on her back and then you're gonna hit your head
on the chair, And that was just so sad looking.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Well, you know, stuff happens.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
It can't be Hey, look the way I look at
it is when you're doing a four way match, that's
probably one of the more difficult matches because they're all
going against each other. Uh, And I you know, I
have a little bit of forgiveness for that. The only
thing that I don't like on four way matches is
when somebody just gets like a simple elbow to the

(11:00):
side of the neck and they're a lot of action
for six or seven minutes, you know, but.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
They really didn't do I love the spot.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
There was one spot, it was early in the match
where sky Blue got socked right in the head, and
the other two that were in the ring is one
of them was already out of the ring, but it
was Alex Windsor was already out of the ring. So
it was Queen Aminada and Billy Stark's going at it,
and somebody socks sky Blue and she fell backwards. But

(11:30):
it didn't look really convincing enough. So what did Blue do?
She got back up and got involved again and got
socked again, and then she fell out of the ring.
I thought that was really really good work by sky Blue.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah, that was that was very interesting. There were a
couple of spots that I kind of was worried about
some of the moves they did, because there were a
few that it weren't like that or the chair shot,
but where they looked like they were not hit right.
Windsor did one on the first time she did the
running power bomb on Blue that did not look good.

(12:04):
She came down kind of weird. And there was another one,
but I can't remember what it was right now, but
there was another one later in the match, and I
think it was Queen Amanada did something to and it
was kind of Blue again. I believe it's just they
didn't look right, and I was like, oh God, here
we go. Someone's gonna get hurt.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
But and of course Alex winsor wins the match. We
had a Theta on Tony Storm and Mercedes Monette outside
the rink. I kind of thought maybe that was a
wrong call because it kind of took away from the
match a little bit having them all, all three of
them out there throughout the match.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
I don't know, it just.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Seemed, yeah, especially in Storm, it just kind of took
away from the match just a air.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
I think it's the only way that this is the
only way they have to build towards Forbidden Door, because
they're not doing anything else really. I mean, yeah, they
have a couple of segments here, but I think that's
what they're trying to compensate for lack of everything else
by having them out and get involved every match. It
does take away from it.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Though, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
And then we had what I thought was the most
unintentionally funny part of the show. We had the Young
Bucks backstage with Rene Piquette, and that's when the Bucks,
you know, gave one of the production crew a note
saying exactly what they wanted to have said during their introduction.

(13:34):
All Right, But what was unintentionally funny was it immediately
went in ring and there was Rene Piquette standing in
the ring to introduce Kyle Fletcher, and I'm like, well, holy,
you know, holy warp.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
You know, she wasn't even out of breath.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
She made it. She booked Obviously the the Young Yeah,
obviously the the Young Bucks segment was pre taped.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
But I just thought it was funny.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
And I can just imagine watching Simon Miller tomorrow on
Ups and Downs. He's going to bring it up because
he loves that kind of stuff. But anyway, Kyle Fletcher
is in the ring, he cuts a really great promo
for him. I mean, look, when it comes to it
was a good promo for him. It was a good
promo overall, wasn't the greatest, but I will say that

(14:26):
this was one of the more convincing T and T
champions doing a promo in the ring and getting real
crowd reaction and real heat. It didn't hurt that he
had Don Kallas and the entire Don Kallas family another
mel Coleman painting that was out there.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Actually he didn't have the whole Kallis family because.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Well, we don't need to see we don't need to
go into all that, but you know what I'm saying.
They did have the don Kallis family out there, you know,
representatives of the don Kallis family, and of course Don Challas.
You know, anytime he grabs the mic, he's gonna get booed.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
And you know, the Cleveland crowd was great.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, I love I love the chant. We won't repeat
it here, but that was a great chance.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Yeah, and uh, but anyway, I don't know how you
feel about it, but I thought that, again, as I
said earlier, for a T and T champion, I thought
that was probably the best promo I've seen from a
T and T champion ever, to be honest with you,
at least thought that I can remember.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
In the last for the last few T and T champions.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Definitely, Yeah, I mean yeah, yeah, he made you feel
whatever you whether you like him or not, or whether
you think he's a great champion or not, at least
he made you feel and that's what he had to do.
Then we go backstage once again, Adam Copeland back stage
and challenging Stokely Hathway to a match next week. Why

(16:04):
it's it's look, I'm not upset about it.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
It's just gonna be a fun you know, destruction of
Stokely Hathway next week.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
I don't think it's gonna get to that. I think
they're gonna break it. I think they're gonna come out
and keep him live because they can't let him die
if they if they do not come out and stop
that fight, Stokely's not coming out of that walking. There's
just no.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Maybe maybe maybe not, but it's gonna be interesting that.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
That then we had the match of the night. You know,
there's no offense or buts about it for me.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
I don't know you feel about it?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Brodido versus Max and Jeremy Jackson. I guess that's what
they're calling now. Just just hysterical. The you know, with
Justin Roberts reading the note exactly the way they had
it written with YEP, with the commas and exclamation points
and question marks, and then the cell phone ring tone

(17:09):
entrance music with just.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
It was just perfectly done.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Yeah. I think it was Matt Jackson. Earlier today we
did an interview and he said, look, if you can't
poke fun at yourself in this business, you're in the
wrong business. You know. Look this this stupidity that Max
and Jeremy Jackson are going through right now is is
really helping them.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I mean, people were paying attention.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
I said this last night, and I don't know how
you feel about it, but it's gotten to the point
where every Young Bucks match kind of had a feeling
of sameness to it, and what this stupidity is doing
is making them stand out again.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Yeah, I agree, and I think that I think that
this is something that they needed to do because with
all the craft they were pulling as EVPs, I think
that actually took away from their wrestling because they didn't
win anything without having some kind of help. And now
they're actually going in the ring again and being the
Young Bucks, not being the EVPs, doing what they're supposed

(18:25):
to do, playing it and being the way they're supposed
to be, and they're looking good again.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
I mean, look, the Bucks were hot. I mean they
were they I don't know if they were doing anything
different than they normally do, but it just hit different.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
I was just really worried that they were gonna that
they were gonna win that match to night, because I
think if they would have won that match, Cleveland would
have rided.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
I don't know about that, but uh, because I think
that the Bucks are getting We mentioned it last night.
We we thought that maybe the young Bucks are going
to be doing a face turn soon. And I think
that's that would be a smart move. You know, let
them keep making fun of themselves, let them own it

(19:13):
and and just continue to do it and be a
not a real not I wouldn't call them a comedy act,
but an act, you know, a group, a couple of
wrestlers that are you know, there's well they're frankly, they're EVPs,
and but bring back the fun of wrestling instead of

(19:35):
the you know, we're we're cartoonish evil is the way
I would describe describe them, you know. But look, we
can't talk about this match without talking about Brody King
and Bandido.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
What a team.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
I mean, they I love the way they didn't have
They had moments where their chemistry was meshing and it
made sense because they haven't been a team for so long,
and I love that. Obviously it was on purpose. They
did that those spots on purpose and showed that you know,

(20:15):
even though we're not one with each other, we are
still a great team. And boy, if we actually improved
by ten percent.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Lookout.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Yeah, that's they are. They are impressive, very very much impressive. Yeah,
I mean, I mean they're they're They're probably the most
over of anybody right now, at least it seems that
way to me. I mean, you have Swerven, those guys
are over, They're always going to be over. But these
guys are, like Max now, they're more over any They're

(20:52):
They're over enough that I think I can see them
winning the titles, the TED titles and not being a problem.
But I got a feeling that I had a feeling
that they're going to lose next week because MJF is
going to do something to prove himself as part of
the group instead of just all about him.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Well what does MGF have to do with it?

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Though?

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Well, like I said before, I think this whole thing
with m JF and and.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
But what I'm saying, look, I mean, it's not Brodido
against the Hurt said.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
Are well, So if you're the Hurt syndicate, who do
you want to face? You want to face Brodido Brodido,
who are as much the size of them and equal inability,
or FTR, which is the smaller team. I don't want
to face FTR.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Well, if you go by the story that was released
last night, Uh, one of the things that was said
by H allegedly said by m VP, is that he
did not want to lose to a team like FTR.
You know, with the Hurt Syndicate. He wanted to lose
to a team like jet Speed.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Well not he not jet Speed, they did say specifically,
not jet Spit because he doesn't want he doesn't like
Mark Mike Bailey, but he wanted he wanted Hurt Syndicate
to put over a younger team.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Well, I guess you know, Brodido is a younger team,
you know.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
I think, Look, I just think that if T I
think he's going to come out next week and he's
going to cause one of the teams to lose because
he's now he has to prove that he's a team
player and not just all about him. And I don't
think if I don't think the MJF is out of
that one wants to be out of the Hurt Syndicate
just yet.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yeah, Well, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I I we'll talk a little bit more about it later,
but you know, when we talk about the MGF and
Mark Briscoe match, after this Brodido and Max and Jeremy match.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
We had Max.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
We had a lot of backstage and front stage interviews.
I mean, we had the Hurt Syndicate and then JF backstage.
We had FTR and Stokely Hathway backstage.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
We had the.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Swerve Strict Lit interview on the on the Ramp with
with Renee Piquette, and then we had Mark Briscoe backstage
with hang manh atanm Page and then finally we had
Queen Amanada, Willow Nightingale.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
And Chris Statlander backstage.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Uh, everything was kind of I want to talk mostly
about the Queen Amanada thing because she, you know, she
lost again, as you said earlier, and that's that was
the point of this interview. But again, I think it's
okay that she lost, because I think it's obvious that
what the plan is for Amanada at all is blooded guts.

(23:54):
And I thought it was interesting, you know, we were
wondering because the the Face team needs.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
A fifth person.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
The the Heel team already has five, but the Face
team has four, and I was wondering if maybe Chris
Statlander would be the fifth on the on the Face team.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
But after tonight it kind of doesn't seem that way,
you know.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
I still don't like what they're doing with all that.
I think it's ridiculous the way they're treating I just
think that Stantlander's being mistreated in this whole thing because
they're making it like she's obsessed with h with the
Willow and it's really not been that way. Everybody's making
it hurt, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
No, no, no, no, because if you remember like three months
ago when this all started, I am, and I am
still convinced of this. I think Statlander is doing it
really good acting job in k FABE because I think
she wants other people to believe.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
That she's not a part of this.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
I believe that Chris Statlander and Willow Nightingale are in cahoots.
I really do. I think that this is all better Ruse.
And I still think when Blood and Guts arise, you're
not going to know who the fifth member of the
Face team is until right then. It's going to be

(25:31):
like the surprise thing, you know, one of those things
that makes you want to watch the show just to
see who the fifth member is going to be. And
I believe it's going to be Chris Statlander. I really do.
I think it's going to be Statlander.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
It could be. I mean it to me, it's it's
got to be doing something because this whole action was
styling it. It'll make any sense to me because they're
you know, they've been having her possibly with doing something
with the death Riders, and then and she's in the
back trying to say she wants to be her own person,
and they keep bringing it back to her and Willow,

(26:04):
and it just doesn't make any sense to me. I
hope you're right. That would be awesome.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
I think it's gonna come down to stat Lander coming
out herd Willow hugging, and then when they have the
the Women's Tag Team Title Tournament or whatever they're going
to do to crown the women's world tag team title holders,
it's going to be Statlander and Willow Nightingale as a team.

(26:29):
It's got to be. They have too much good chemistry together.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
I mean, I mean.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
When you when you know, five months ago last year,
if you were saying what's the best women's tag team
right now, most of the people, I believe more than
half of the people would have said right away, Willow
and Statlander, Right.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Yeah, I just I just you know, I don't get it.
It's just it's weird that they do this when they
shouldn't because you're waste I mean to me, is waste
too much time doing this crap because you get two
people that could be having some seriously great matches, but
they're just I don't know. I hope you're right.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
So then we get to the main event, and as
I said last night, I was a little bit disappointed
in the booking of this main event, and I'll share
again why in that. I think Mark Briscoe is kind
of a little bit overused right now. I like Mark
Briscoe a lot, but I just think that he's wrestling

(27:31):
too many matches. As a matter of fact, three of
the last four months in aew ON TV programming, he
has wrestled on average more than one match a week,
on average, exactly.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
And that's that.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
I was a fan of Orange Cassidy and I got
to the point where, oh God, it's Orange Cassidy again.
I don't want to get to the point where oh God,
it's Mark Briscoe again.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
I love the way they booked this match.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
The end of this match where Mark Briscoe lost as
he should have but he did he really lose because
he didn't really lose. He probably would have lost anyway,
but because I think he was down and out. But
when he took the pin, he didn't really take the
pin because he had his foot on the leg.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
He had had his leg on the rope.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I mean, right, And I think they're drawing this out
too long. This should have been over already. They shouldn't
continue to do this with him and Mark Briscoe. It's
it's it's exposing Mark's Briscoe too much, and it's given
him j if an opponent that doesn't do anything for him. No,

(28:40):
you know, he was coming out of being on Mark
Briskow every week. Mark Brisko up until the last couple
of weeks, has been a loser every time he wrestles.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
What's that differ He's had recent Mark Briscoe has had
recent success. But I agree with you that he was
I mean, let's face it. I mean we made the
remark on this podcast many times on the Ignition podcast
in particular, where oh, Mark prisco is in the match,
He's gonna eat the pin. I don't like that, but
it's just the truth. It is the truth.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
And more often than not Mark briskco Ate the pin yep.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
I just I think they got to end this soon.
They just they just need to get this match over
with him, that Briscoe will go back to who he's
been wrestling, putting where he needs to be getting towards it.
I think he's more of a TNT title Champe title
than the world title.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Yeah, and even if.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
He gets at the world title shot, you know he's
not gonna win it.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Well, Hangman did come out and they had, you know,
their confrontation, and so it does seem kind of obvious
that maybe a forbidden door we're gonna see Hangman and
MGF and we had talked about this last night on
on our Ignition podcast. But this forbidden Door really doesn't
have a lot of forbidden door in it.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
And to be honest with you, I like it.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
I do like it because frankly speaking, I as I
said that, I I you know, it's it's it's kind
of a negative, but I really don't think it is
forbidden Door was kind of like a Battle of the Belts.
It pay per view pay per view for him because

(30:20):
nothing ever happened.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Well, and it was more of an exhibition than anything.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yeah, exactly now now, now, God.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Now, to be honest with you, I think they should
have renamed it something like aw versus the World, included
a couple extra people, but made it not Forbidden Door anymore,
because you're right, the Forbidden Door part of this is over.
Everybody that was in the Forbidden Door that we wanted
to come over here, so you don't have anything new going.
You know, Hey, look it's gonna be Okada, Okada's come out.
He's here already. Never mind, Uh, you might get to

(30:55):
see Zach Saber Junior maybe, because you never know what's
gonna happen with that, right, And I think Tony timing
this year was a little screwy. You don't time something
like this if you want that kind of event after
the week after the g.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
One, well, yeah, don't forget.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
You also have the Stardom five Star Grand Prix that
literally ends the day before Forbidden Door is over. And
it's very weird because even though the Forbidden Door is
on the twenty fourth and this five Star Grand Prix
ends on the twenty third, there are already people that
are in the five Star Grand Prix that are booked

(31:33):
for Sedi Girls on the same day as Forbidden Door.
So that kind of tells you that even though there
there are startup women that are wrestling in the Five
Star Grand Prix, other the ones that are in the
actual finals, there's gonna be some that are available. It's

(31:58):
weird because we had that four way match for the
TBS title contenders, which Alex Windsor won, which we all
thought it was gonna happen, because now Alex Winter Winsor
could go to the two Arena in London as the
hometown hero and look, that's gonna sell tickets.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
That Alan will sell some tickets.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
For Forbidden Door because you have the hometime hero, hometown
hero going to Forbidden Door and actually wrestling against some
of the best in the world, Mercedes Monet and whoever
is representing representing CMLL and whoever is representing Stardom. The
one thing is that if you remember the last time

(32:37):
they had one of these qualifier things, CMLL had a
four on four just like aw did, and so did Stardom.
They have not announced that yet, so that being said,
maybe we don't get a four on foreign CMLL, Maybe
we don't get a four on four and Stardom.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
To see who wins.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
This tournament is a tournament or a four way to
see who gets into forbidden Door.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Maybe they just appoint somebody.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
Look, you know, I like the way to I think
the whole point behind this, to be honest with you,
is I think it was always supposed to be shooting. Sure,
that was supposed to be in there. But yeah, now
even though she's rehabbing and she seems to be doing
really really well, you know, it's still very very very
iffy whether she's gonna be ready or not.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
And what eighteen days ready?

Speaker 3 (33:29):
I don't think he could be ready.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
I mean, she's not in a cast, she's not in
a brace. She's working out in the gym.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Yeah, but working on the gym and taking bumps and
landing on that elbow or taking a shot to those elbows.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Eye.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Yet there's that's I couldn't see that.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Well, that's that's just the thing. You're in a four
on four match, you're protected.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Yeah, I guess I don't know. I was wondering if
they're going to make this part of the tournament somehow.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
I doubt that.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Look they're not. What I'm what I'm thinking is is
they're gonna wait until three or four days before. If
you're ridden door stardom is and they're gonna assess whether
sure he is ready, If sure he can go, they're
just startup. Is just gonna flat out a point. Surey
to come out, and it's gonna be sure he representing stardom.

(34:20):
If sure he can't go, they may have a match.
They may even have a four way match, or started
may just appoint somebody. I don't think they're gonna go,
you know, with a four way, you know, because again,
the five Star Grand Prix is still running, and the
people that are in the four way would be the

(34:41):
people that are in the five Star Grand Prix. And
even if they did a four way, it would have
to be done with people that are eliminated from the
five Star Grand Prix, and that wouldn't happen until what
five to ten days before. It'll be another week or
so before a week to tend from now before they
could definitely put people in this fair way.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
And let's put it this way.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
If you're a stardom, you don't want to put people
that are winless in a tournament to represent you in
this match. You want to put one of your best
in this match because it makes you stand out, you know.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
Yeah. But here's the thing. I'm not sure what the
five Star Grand Prix. I don't know. Is it like
a wrestling tournament, like a g One you.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Know what the g One Climax is New Japan.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Yeah, it's exactly the same thing, except with women.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
It's exactly the same thing.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
I get what you're saying. But there could be depending
on how they did it. If one of their top
names got eliminated from the five the Grand Prix at
an earlier stage because they want to have them in
forbidden door, they could do that. Then they put them
up against whoever. You know, that person whoever, I'm not
sure who it would be, but you put them up

(35:58):
in that. So I mean you do still have if
they have somebody two days.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
Before No, and I let me let me, let me
interrupt you there, because I am a big fan of
a five Star Grand Prix and I'm keeping up with it.

Speaker 2 (36:10):
Uh, their big names are still in contention, but there's nobody.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
There's no big name so to speak, that has been eliminated. However,
I will say this, Remember I said that there is
uh and you may not write I don't know if
you're a Stardom fan, of you're familiar with Stardom wrestlers,
but there are some wrestlers, as I said earlier, that
are already booked for a Seddai Girls show on the

(36:39):
same day as Forbidden Door. And every one of those
wrestlers that are booked from Stardom are in the Five
Star Grand Prix except for Hazuki uh and I was
Azuki and I'm not.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
I'm having a brain cramp here.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
I don't know if Suzuki is in it or not,
but anyway, uh, Starlight Kid is is uh is booked
for this Senti Girls.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
That's a poy sire. Who is the IWGP Heavyweight Championship Champion.

Speaker 3 (37:14):
I'm sorry, who's their current champion.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Stardom has kind of like the same setup as aw.
Their world champion is called the World of Stardom Championship
and that's Sayakamatani, and then you have the Wonder Stardom Champion,
which I guess you could say is commeserate to the
TNT Championship, and that Starlight Kid, now Saya Kamatani right

(37:37):
now is undefeated in the tournament, so chances are on
the twenty third she's going to be in the finals, so.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
They could in essence, they could, even though it's only
two days before it, they could make the type of
the person who wins the Rand Prix their entry. I mean,
they don't need to have if they're having these other
women who are participating in the Grand Prix being a
match on the same day, there's a chance that some

(38:08):
of those might still be into it at the end.
So yeah, I don't think it's I don't think it's
gonna be as big a problem as everybody might think.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
It would be, because well, well you got to keep
in mind that they're wrestling in Japan the Forbidden Doors
in London, and that's quite a jount from Japan. And
you also have to look at the time differences. For example,
right now, it is what almost eleven pm here in

(38:39):
the eastern East Coast of the United States. In Japan,
it's something like noon, yeah you know what I mean,
or eleven o'clock in the morning. So if you're wrestling
on the twenty third, if you're wrestling on the twenty

(39:04):
third in Japan at that there's generally their start times
or six thirty PM, you're looking at like five o'clock
in the morning Eastern time, so that gives you, but
he had time in the end of the.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
Show is over.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
It gives you maybe twenty four hours to get out
of Japan and over to London. And also you need
to keep in mind, you know, the the visa issues
and the travel issues out of Japan are unpredictable as
could be. So it's it's you know, it's going to

(39:41):
be interesting to see you represent and then when you
look at CMLL. We talked about it last night. Mercedes
Monet won the CMLL Women's World Championship out of Zeusa's
by necessity because Zukesas was injured and she was able
to wrestle the match, but it was a fairly short
match and Mercedes Monet won it. But I don't know
if Zuxus is able to come back, If if Zeuxis

(40:04):
is able to wrestle, she would be like easily the
person to represent CMLL, because you know, Mercedes Monette took
her belt. But other than that, I mean, you have
Loch Catalina, you have Persephone, and maybe Raina isis. You know,

(40:27):
there's really not that much in CMLL that would be
viable championship contenders, and you would definitely when you're looking
at CMLL those women that I've mentioned Zeuxis, rna Isis Loch,
Catalina and uh Persephone, they've worked with Ring of Honor
and R and AW wrestlers before. You definitely don't want

(40:51):
somebody coming in that hasn't worked with somebody before. So
like from Stardom, I mean you're looking if you're going
with that. Uh Hazuki, by the way, is in that
Sedai Girls show, so she's not available. But you have
somebody like Momo Watanabe or Watanabi who has worked in

(41:13):
AW before.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
Sayah Kama Tommy has.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Worked in a W while she worked a Ring of
Honor match a couple of years ago. So I mean
there are some Ring of Honor I mean Stardom wrestlers
that have worked with you know, either the Ring of
Honor or AW people before.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
So I mean we still nineteen days, so who knows
anything could happen in nineteen days yep.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
So, but you know, overall, let's go back to dynamite
tonight create it A through F grade school grades. What
would you give tonight's show?

Speaker 3 (41:53):
I'll give it a B plus?

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Okay, was there any reason for that?

Speaker 3 (41:59):
I think some of the stuff after the tag team
match was just they could have done without it or
done something better with it. I just I think that
they should have made the tag team match the main event.
There's just nothing you could do after that match. It
was gonna make any better. That was the best match.

(42:19):
That was one of the best matches in a while.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
Yeah, I'm going to disagree with you as far as
I think that the tag team match was in the
exact right spot, because if you look at the quarterlies,
by the time you get to the main event in
AW shows, that's the least watched part of the shows.
So not as many people watched MJF and Brisco as

(42:44):
they did bent Brodido and the Bucks put it that way,
So I thought that putting Brodido in the Bucks where
they would get more exposure, was the right move because
now I really do believe that that match was so
damn good that people that have and watching AW for
the first time or just maybe the second or third

(43:04):
week that they watched AW, that's the kind of match
that will bring people back to watch AW again, you know.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
And that's just the way I feel.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
I'm going to give this show an a for the
reason I really just stated, with everything that's been going
on in WWE and so many people saying I'm going
to check out AW if you're if you're looking at
AW tonight for the first time and you're a WWE fan,
I just don't see how you could ask for anything

(43:36):
more than what you got. I mean, you got really
good promos, you got really a lot of story, and
you got some just smash you into mouth matches.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
So I'm giving it an A. I'm giving it an a.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
You know.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
So I was close to an A, but it just
I don't know, I wanted to see a little bit
more after that match that I just didn't get. I
I was disappointed in the MDA of Risco match. I
just I just didn't really care to see it. It
wasn't like it was something that I was going, oh God,
I can't wait. Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
I didn't want to see it exactly, and that's why
it was perfect for the main event. It doesn't sound
stupid saying that, but it's true.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
I just think they would have had a lot more
people stick around for the main events that would have
been the main event. I just do because people wanted
to see that match, and I.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
Again, I just I do not believe that this show
was structured tonight for AW fans. I think it was
structured tonight for New a w fans, and that's what
they did. And the first three quarters of tonight's show
just smashed you in the mouth.

Speaker 3 (44:54):
Yeah better than.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:58):
