Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's Wednesday. You know what that means. It's time for
all lead talk with the Hey w fanha podcast team.
We just watched the episode of Dynamite. Kenny Omega's return
was the big draw. But I'm gonna start from the
beginning with Buddy Matthews and Will Ospray this match. I'm
just gonna say, right off the bat. Over the last
(00:24):
couple of weeks on Dynamite, my reaction in the live
chat had been this match is going on too long?
Is it over yet? And it's been pretty much reciprocated
by the other people in the live chat. Not everybody,
but some people have re suprocated. My thoughts on this
match between Buddy Matthews and Will Osprey was I don't
(00:45):
want this thing to end. I would have been very
happy if it was a one hour time limit draw.
Put it that way. What did you guys think about
this match?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
You know, God damn it, Buddy Matthews is so good
rate at making himself look fantastic while simultaneously elevating the
people that he's wrestling. I've seen it. We saw in WWE,
we saw it in New Japan. Buddy is just absolutely
a gem. Probably the best wrestler in the House of Black.
Osprey obviously fantastic in his own regard, but this match
(01:16):
was a very solid start to a very good dynamite.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Yeah that's the way you start a show, am I right? Oh?
Hell yeah that was great. Anybody else have thoughts on
this match?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Pretty much what I expected. They're both very good and
they put on a very good match, so it was
a very good way to start.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah, rd is this gonna get? Is this a hit
or mission for you?
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Absolutely a hit. This was a fantastic match, something I
never knew I needed, but I'm glad I got. And
I think matt Manard said it in the commentary link
and you might miss something. This was fantastic, fast paced,
their strengths. Buddy Matthews continues to impress as a singles wrestler.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Yeah he does, And comments were made Buddy Matthews is
just such a good seller. He really is. He looks
legitimately injured all the time. Well, I mean he doesn't
overdo it, he doesn't, just enough to make it look good.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna jump ahead of the fed stands that
are about to pick this match in promo following up
like a part, you know, over speculation over what Malachi
Black is doing in AW moving forward. That's I think
that's because there's been a there was a lot of
talk Malachi Black today during the program, and you know,
(02:46):
we didn't see him. As a matter of fact, two
times in the past ten days we've had some very heavy,
you know, story pointing in the direction of the House
of Black breaking up.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Well, do you think that that's a squerve?
Speaker 2 (03:01):
It could be a serve. I mean, like I wouldn't
say breaking up, but Malachi not being involved with that
anymore to some degree. I mean, the dude has wrestled
nine times in the past two years to one single,
one or two singles matches. You know, is this a
It's hard to call the ball on him because he's
so public about wanting to stay involved with the AW
(03:21):
And I'm not trying to pay a negative connotation on
this program. This dynamite was fantastic, but you know, you
know that his presence hasn't really reinforced the idea that
he wants to be here.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Well, let me put it this way, if people start
talking about Malachi Black, probably by I don't know, probably
by the end of this podcast recording, which we're recording
right after Dynamite. Probably by the end of this podcast,
he will be meaning Malachi will be on Instagram. I'm saying,
(03:54):
I can't believe i have to do another video again.
I'm not going anywhere. Everybody should out up. Don't believe
anything you say unless you hear it from me. All
the of all the wrestlers that I've ever you know,
been a fan of, Malachi Black doesn't leave you hanging
like will e're won't they? Malachi Black will come out
(04:17):
and say I'm not going anywhere. Stop, you know, and
that's that.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yes, is not a company that nor a person that's
known for the old bait and switch.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah. I mean, I don't know about you guys, but
I was kind of expecting something at the end of
the at the end of the show with Buddy Matthews. Uh,
you know, we'll talk about that where we talk about
the Kenny Omega segment. But let's move on because again,
(04:51):
this show is packed. The next thing we had was
Private Party. Uh, private Party. I believe they won the
tag belts in late October. They've had two matches since.
One was their successful defense in a four way and
(05:15):
the other was the match against Leo, Russian Action Andretti
last week. That's it. They've only had two defenses in
nearly two and a half months now. So we were
talking about this earlier on the subreddit, and what we
came up with was we're so smart at aw fandom,
(05:38):
We really are. We came up with, what Private Party
needs is Hurt Sidy get to kill them, you know, metaphor.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Do you see anything, you see any conceivable reality where
they don't murder them.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Now, if the mets gets made and they don't beat them,
there's a problem.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah, don't beat them. What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
If Private Party doesn't, If if the Herd Syndicate does
not destroy Private Party in under five minutes, there's an issue.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah. But by the same token, if you wanted to
get Private Party over as champions, what better way to
do it than against Hurt Syndicate. Seriously, so either way
you win.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Man, They didn't just sign Lashly and Shelton n MVP
to like multiple a multiple year deal to not to
have them, you know, lose to Private Party. As much
as I love Private Party and I love the idea
of the belts being on them, you know, they don't
they're not as convincing.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
It was a good story. It should have been over already.
They they're they're not strong enough to carry the titles
for long.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Well they're Here's the point, though, is that we don't
know that because they've not done anything with the titles.
And again that's not Private Party's fault, it's the booking's fault.
I mean, think about it. We also have the Trios
champions that haven't done anything, and that's again the booking.
The C two kind of put akebash on the tag titles,
(07:22):
the Trios titles, and frankly the TNT Championship as well.
There's they just didn't do anything with during the entire
ce too. So you know that's that's what happens. But
let me ask you this point blank, guys, Private Party
Hurt Syndicate. Is this a few do you want to see?
(07:44):
Is this something that you're like, oh, yeah, we got
to see this, or are you just kind of like, okay,
it's watchable, nothing special, is it? I would say it's watchable.
Read did you were you saying something too?
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Isaiah Cassidy has an emotional gear that he didn't hit
tonight that he usually does. Maybe it's difficult because they
haven't faced much adversity yet as a tag team with
the Belts. But you know, I think it would go
a long way for them to maybe have a timeline
with draw in their first match, just to kind of
raise the profile Private Party because you know, right now
(08:26):
it's not looking good. The Hurts In think is pretty dominant.
But I think Isaiah Cassidy can take this place. Is
that he hasn't been able to yet.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yeah, because well Mark quin is not the talker in
the group, that's for sure. But of course, right after
this segment, we went right into Bobby Lashley versus Mark
Briskow and what I thought was a pretty dark good match.
I thought it was interesting that, seeing as though the
hurt Sid the Kate were still out there, Private Party
(08:58):
just decided to leave. Didn't make much sense to me,
they just abandoned their post, but they came back. But
what did you think of the Bobby Lashley of Mark
Briscoe match.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
I thought it was a pretty good match. I actually
thought that Briscoe might have had a chance to stopping Bobby.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Lastly, I mean they did present it like that because
Briscoe did have some strong moments and lastly did really
well making brisco look pretty strong. If you ask me,
would you agree with that?
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Yeah? And Mark's I mean, he's known for a tag
team camp, you know, being tag team champions. I think
they said what thirteen times? And he's won a few
singles titles, But I don't think people give him enough
credit for the ability that he does have, because he's
one of those guys that can just go and go
and go for a while.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yeah. But I think it's safe to say that when
you were looking into this match, you were looking at
it as a pretty much a Briscoe guaranteed loss. One
of the things that somebody pointed out was that when
Briscoe came to the ring, there was no banfair merchandise
(10:18):
or anything like that for the Conglomeration. Did you guys
know us that?
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah, he didn't have he didn't have the Conglomeration come
up on the screen like they did later in the
night Kyle.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Im back with Undisputed Kingdom.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, that was pretty much of a production problem, I think,
and I.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Think they forgot to tell him that the Conglomeration probably
isn't a team anymore. Yeah, and they just said, well, okay,
let's do it that way. But then again, when they
came out as the United king the guys for the
next the other match, the only one that they didn't
come out to anything to do with the United Kingdom.
They all came out to their own thing. I mean
(11:03):
Rod Roderick.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Did, but yeah, yeah, but Cole didn't.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
No.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Well, since we're talking about it, let's us move on
to one of my favorite matches in the night was
the Casino Gauntlet match. I really enjoyed it, and I
especially liked that they took their time with it and
they didn't rush it. I mean, they got a lot
of guys out there. Well, Jeff Jarrett came out, but
he didn't last very long. Wheeler you to of all people,
(11:34):
beat him to a pulp and brought him to the back.
But I thoroughly enjoyed this match. Of course, Will Hobbs won, which,
if I'm not mistaken, wasn't it Will Hobbs that when
he got injured. Wasn't that in the match against John Moxley?
So this is kind of a revenge match, And I
thought it was interesting that when Will Hobbs got on
the mic that he didn't mention that hopefully he will,
(11:58):
you know, during collision or you know, in one of
their vignettes they do for social media or something like that.
But what did you guys think of this match? Jay
White came out first, and I don't know if you
noticed this, but by and large, every person that came
out afterwards, their first person they did a move on
(12:18):
was Jay White. Quite a bit of times, j White
got his ask it tonight. He was there for it.
He worked his Assah that. I had a lot of
respect to Jay White tonight.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
He did a lot of ass kicking too, sure.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
I mean he wasn't the only one getting his ass gig.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
I mean he hit the Blade Runner like five or
six times.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Anybody that orage Cassidy didn't come out?
Speaker 3 (12:49):
I thought when they hit I thought when they hit
the Conglomeration music, it was going to be him.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Well they would have played the Pixies for him more
than likely. Right. Uh So, yeah, there anybody that you
were kind of surprised about, Go ahead, RD, I thought
I heard you chime in there.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
I was just gonna says in Cassidy's neck broken. I
mean you got two pile drivers last week after the match.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Hey, we've seen broken necks and broken hands. Remember who
was it? Isaiah Cassidy got hit with the hammer and
then they won the tag titles two weeks later. So
broken bones are empowering at aw.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Oh, I mean we heard a lot about that later
on in the evening. I broke my neck, wrestled for
twenty more minutes and one we'll get to that. We'll
get to that. Yeah, this match is awesome. The only
thing if I were to critique this, you're they're thrown.
So I love that they're finally making the World championship
like not a concession prize, like a consolation prize, excuse me,
(13:52):
Like they're actually giving meaning to holding the title. I
don't like the idea that the top that mocks is
the top of that pinnacle, because I could name five
wrestlers in eight right now that can outperform him tenfold.
You know, the Jared thing is a little confusing. I
loved I'd love to see it just because it'd be fun.
But I mean, like they're throwing a lot at the
world title right the world title right now, and just
(14:14):
it doesn't seem to have like a very strong focus.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Mattressweet though, Yeah, yeah, I mean it wasn't it was
just a fun match and went on for a long time.
I love the way they set it up.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
You know.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
No, it's not like every three minutes a new guy
comes out. It's totally random and it's believable that way.
It adds a little bit of an edge to it.
But uh, yeah, I mean they're not being a lot
of guys out there. Well, speaking of edge, let's talk
(14:49):
about the rated R legend Adam Copeland. I refuse to
calm cope. I'm sorry, that's just dumb to me. I
just can't do it. I just got used to calling
him Adam Copeland, and now they want me to change
his name again. I don't know if you noticed his
shirt he spelled legend wrong. Ye, somebody made a post
(15:12):
about it already. Oh they messed up. I know they did.
It's they it's l edge and you know basically so,
I mean it was odd purpose guys, you know you
with the program. He actually trademarked that about six months
ago or something like that. So yeah, it was just
(15:35):
a matter of time. Uh this, let's talk about Copeland exclusively. First,
what did you think of this promo? I thought it
was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
He's always strong. Ben strong at doing those promo is great.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
I mean he did talk about breaking his neck and
about breaking his leg. Uh, you know, and just stop
breaking stuff and you can wrest all for ever twenty minutes,
you know, thirty minutes the next week everything. You know,
you don't have to take six years off of horber
LONGI was it six years that he had to take off?
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Think it was that long?
Speaker 1 (16:16):
You know?
Speaker 3 (16:16):
So people, I don't think a lot of people realize
that this is the culmination of the former Shield as
Copeland's enemies or opponents, because he's done this with everybody.
Now that he's got the Moxley, Ask.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Everybody flat out, do you think that Copeland's the guy
that takes the championship from Moxley.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
I don't think he's the guy because I don't think
he wants to be the guy, to be honest, I
don't think that's what Cope's doing this.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
For, right.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
I think he's doing it to move it along and
to raise the stakes on it. But I don't think
he has any plans to win in the title.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, we'll We're gonna circle back to the MGF and
Jeff Jared. I just wanted to go on the Cope
Copeland first. Uh here, but of course after Copeland did
make his promo in the ring, here comes the Death
Writers and immediately the crowd went mild. Uh. By far
(17:25):
the weakest segment of the night in my opinion, just
it was hard to even continue to watch. You know,
almost went and looked up, you know, started up by
Candy Crush game on my tablet, so I had something
entertaining to watch it. I'm sorry, I mean said, I've
said it before and I'll say it again. I gave
(17:48):
the Death Writers a chance, I really did. They're not
doing it. And the AW World Championship isn't even in
the championships in a W. In my opinion, the a
W World Championship isn't in the top four because it's
been so brow beaten down. It's just not So they've
(18:14):
got to get this. They they've got to get this.
They got to expedite this. Get the title off of
John Moxley. What was the last time we saw the title, guys.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
When he won it?
Speaker 1 (18:26):
When you see it last when he won it, when he.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
Won Yeah, that's the last time.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
But that's the point. It's not about the title. It's
not been anything about the title.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Well, that may be the point, but but that point
you're talking about is not working.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
I disagree, but I still like what's going on. I
think it's there's nothing wrong with it. It's a it's
a it's a long term term story that has not
been totally bad. They've done things with it. They've they've
made it bigger every time it's been after a competition
at one of the pay per views. It's just getting
(19:07):
bigger and bigger. It's still got a ways to go.
It's not going anywhere for a while. I guarantee you
it'll be around for a while. We'll be around till
all In at least all In.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
I I hope it doesn't last that long.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
I hope it doesn't get dragged out that far. But
they're gonna need something convincing for the you know, it.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Should have ended on the last ramp. Perfect in my opinion,
Go ahead. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
What are the chances Omega wins it? A revolution?
Speaker 2 (19:45):
That'd be great.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
I don't think that Omega's Omega is not going for
the title.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
He's not going to the world title. He's gonna start
with Okada.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
He's gonna start.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
He just said after the wrestled Dynasty. He's going after
the title. He said he wants everything, he wants the
championship back.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
That don't mean going forward now, yeah, I think I
think it's Here's the thing. Let's just say that Kenny
Omega came out and said, Moxley, I'm coming after you.
That's three guys tonight that said that they were coming
after Moxley. Does we've already said that? Nobody nobody spoke
(20:24):
up and said that they thought that Adam Copeland was
going to defeat John Moxley. I'll ask another question. Does
anybody think that our House Hobbs is going to be
John Moxley?
Speaker 2 (20:37):
No?
Speaker 3 (20:38):
No, but I don't think it's going to be a
clean win.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
I mean, then, well, what do we get another triple
threat match, another casino royale they need to stop having. Yeah,
I mean, like you have almost ten people chasing this
belt right now, someone that the next person in the
pecking order is going to have to step up. I
don't know why the.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
God this reminds. This reminds me too much of the nWo.
Not that it's as interesting as the nWo, because at
least the nWo was humorous. They were entertaining. There's none
of that with the Death Writers. They're dry as dry
could be. There's nothing entertaining to me personally about them.
(21:21):
But the other thing that that the nWo did in WCW,
being that they were all initially EXWWE guys. Those three
guys meaning Scott Hall, Kevin National Hall Coke could come
out to the ring and hold off the entire locker
room from WCW, and that was a bad look for WCW,
(21:43):
that their wrestlers were completely browbeaten by these WWE renegades. Well,
this is kind of the same thing with the with
the Death Writers. Here, you have a group that is just,
i'm sorry, completely uninteresting, and nobody can come close to
(22:07):
beating them. It's weird. I'm sorry, it's weird. I mean
tonight when Powerhouse Cobbs, Hobbs came out to make the
save everybody in the ring cleared out from the Death
Writers because you know, I guess five on one isn't
or whatever it was. Yeah, five on one is not
(22:29):
good odds against Powerhouse Hobbs. That bothered me. It's just
so stupid.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Was anyone paying attention to Dax Harwood while he was
fighting in the crowd.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
What do you do?
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (22:43):
No, what do you do? You got DVR?
Speaker 1 (22:48):
What's saying we're not going to go back and watch
it now?
Speaker 2 (22:53):
To jesus, uh they what? I can't remember who he
was fighting with, but like there was like a noticeable
botch cam was would off of him, but went towards
the hard camp, so you could still see him in
the back. Miss a chair and miss a not a
chair up garbage can spot? Oh completely whifted he was?
Speaker 3 (23:13):
He was going up against the Claudia.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Yeah, like Ricky starts sitting, uh, Brian Danielson with the
chair on the ring post.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Yeah yeah again to this, yes, God, but.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Anyway, Yeah, honestly, I mean, you're lucky. I'm able to
even say that I saw a part because immediately I beat,
my eyes got heavy, my eyelids started closing. I thought
I was gonna fall asleep. I have zero interest in
the Death Riders at all, zero period, just being honest.
(23:53):
So well, let's let's go back to MJ comes out
and cuts you know, with the Jeff Jarrett of all people,
I don't even know how to start with this. What
do you guys think of this?
Speaker 3 (24:12):
So it was hoping that he doesn't come out and
say that every time he has a wrestling match, he's
I'm starting. I've been thinking just just if he's going
to wrestle, let him wrestle. He doesn't need to do
that every week. But when MJF came out, that was
so good and funny.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
I mean, uh, I'm jaffer Cutta promo, so can Jeff Jarrett.
That these guys had some had a bit of chemistry,
did they not? I mean I thought that, Yeah, I
liked it, And honestly, you know this is I was
very staunch in defending Jeff Jarrett when he entered aw
because I thought it was awesome. But they haven't really
(24:51):
done much with him right honestly, just for Legacy's sake,
I wouldn't mind seeing them put the World Championship on
him for a couple of weeks, to like just seven
races they didn't think.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
I would much rather see him be the guy that
helps a younger kid win the championship. I'd like to
see him be a catalyst for this death writer's story
to end. I mean next next week, they.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Could do it old school wrestling. They could beat the
shit out of him and then he can hang his boots.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah, that's true. Well, you know, look, when it comes
to MJF and Jeff Jared is not something that anybody
if you would ask them, what do you want, probably
nobody would have said Jeff Jared MJF. But now we
got it. I'm not complaining about it. Although you know,
in a world full of good Fellas and the Godfathers
(25:51):
and those types of movies, this is kind of twin peaks,
but doesn't mean that it's not good and it doesn't
have potential. So let's hold onto our hats and see
where this leads.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
How long until the how long until the one hit
Wonder shirts come out?
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Ah? Check shopping?
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Uh yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
You know, look, and then after this we get to
what I thought was one of the most entertaining parts
of the night, which was Harley Cameron. Of course with
Mariah May and Harley Cameron is just nuts. She's just insane,
(26:42):
and it's apparent. I mean, if you've been paying attention
to social media, there's been a lot of pictures of
Mariah May and Harley Cameron together, so apparently they're really
good friends and uh yeah, and they're getting a match
on Collision, which I believe was the only match in
that just for collisions so far during tonight's show. But
(27:04):
it's Harley Cameron and Mariah May. How did you not
want to see that? And it's a non title match.
So maybe Harley Cameron could win this by some fluke
and that would set her into a more deranged path.
I kind of want to see that, what about you, guys?
I'd love to see that.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
That'd be fun, be interesting definitely, you know, shake up
the women's locker room a little bit. Imagine that she
wins every she retains for like six months on Folly's Accidents,
Swoopsie daisies. That could be a really fun arc.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah, I mean, wasn't there an arc years ago where
somebody just kept winning accidentally? Yeah it was David Arcatt
I think.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Yeah, Nick Gage fixed that run.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Oh god, I still don't know what they were thinking. Well,
they played WCW. Those idiots.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
They put pre recovery Nick Cage in of Oh god,
the pizza cutter. I can't even.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
God forbid, make the side of the cross, kiss the thumb.
There you go, Oh my god. So then we had
the women's qualifier match, which a lot of people thought
was Tony Storm's match to win, and while she came
out of it looking like a rookie, which I thought
(28:44):
was brilliant. I love what they're doing with Tony Storm,
and they're booking her as a rookie and I'm here
for it. I think it's brilliant. And I wish that
there had been more of a play between Chris Statlander
will On Nightingale tonight, but there really wasn't. It was
a pretty much of a straightforward match when you say.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
There was just one part of the match where Chris
put her hands behind her back and asked Willow to
hit her because I think that she's asking for forgiveness.
That's what I thought that The match was a very
classic case of, you know, like developing a story inside
and outside of the ring. I thought it was very
well crafted. I think we're going to see a little
more of Stanton Willow in the future, but I wanted
(29:29):
to emphasize something with Tony Storm as well. Kelson, just
to piggyback off of you. This is arguably one of
the most entertaining thing that's happening in all of televised
professional wrestling right now, the Tony Storm stuff. There's no question.
I can't think of anything else on any other program,
including AW that's really signed.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
I don't know. Yeah, Tony Storm's getting a lot of
crowd reaction, but you know, real American beer got some
good reaction.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Oh god, oh my god, I can't you But I told.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
You I was bird. I went out bought a case
of that ship.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah I wasn't.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Oh yeah, it's.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Said that he admitted it.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
That's seriously, honestly, though, honestly, what in the hell were
they thinking that we said this last Like, what the
hell were they thinking?
Speaker 2 (30:33):
What sending him out there?
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Sending them out there in Los Angeles of all places too?
Speaker 3 (30:40):
That money grab baby you know what, got a beer.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
You know what, though, he's going to have that dominic
mysterio heat, that the I R L heat for the
rest of his career, and the Los Angeles just set
the example for everybody else. He's going to get booed
everywhere he goes from here on it.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
I don't think he's gonna have much more.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
I mean, you know, like I said last night, I
gotta I don't buy the fact that Triple H is
in charge. You can't convince me that Vince does not
have everything to do with w.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
W, isn't in charge. Endurance is in charge.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
That well, but Triple H is the head of creative,
He's the he's the guy running the show for them.
But I there's just no way you can convince me
that it's not Vince.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
There's just no way.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Everything that they do rings true of what Vince used
to do. But you know, it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
I don't know anyway. I just thought that this kind
of rue with with this being popular. You know, Tony Storms, yeah, Shade,
Tony Storm guy is getting the reaction. Maybe Hulk we
got just as much reaction, but yeah, Tony Storm is
(32:03):
getting the reaction. I mean, look at Tony Storm. W
w WE fans even like what Tony Storm is doing.
They they you post it. I posted on Greatness of
Wrestling subrendeddigo nuts. They love it. They think it's great,
except for some people just go trash or something like
that because they're not smart enough to actually watch something
(32:27):
and understand something how funny it is.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Well whatever, because it's not happening on NXT, where the
women get very little representation.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
Yeah, well you figured they would. I mean, they got
all that time, you know, I mean especially on Raw.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
I know, three hours of wrestling on Netflix. We got
three hours of programming and forty three minutes of wrestling.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Way to go, that's confirmed. Yeah, we went to last night.
I can match of the night on Raw happened at
the ninety minute mark. Ninety minutes you had one match. Now.
I don't know about you, guys. And I love a
(33:14):
great story, and I love a good promo package, and
I love a great recap and whatnot. But there's only
so much. But it's like watching a movie that's all trailers.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Right.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Am I raw?
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Nope, stopping when he's telling eyes and it'll be that
way next week, you know.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
And then except that has an intermission for five minutes
and that's actually part of actually like the prologue to
the movie. I guess. I don't know, it's just it's weird. Yeah,
But you know what was funny is that they announced
the collision ratings and I don't remember what it was,
(34:02):
but it wasn't, you know, fantastic. It was like I
can't remember, let's just say five hundred thousand. I don't
know what it was.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
This significant increase.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
It wasn't it was it was much lower than the
last last week. I think last week got like six
hundred and eighty five thousand because it had that college
football playoff leadd some people just didn't didn't change a channel.
But yeah, so it was down in like the four
hundred thousand still wasn't bad for Collision.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Hold On, hold On forty five.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Collision three.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Three forty five. Okay, I'm sorry missed, but three three
hundred and forty five thousand. As soon as they posted that,
the AWWW fans came right up into it and they
were saying, you know, this is embarrassing, you know Whatno,
you know, this is like whatever? You know? Okay, First
(34:59):
of all, most of the people that I know of
watched Collision that watch Collision watched it on Max, just
like most of the people I know of that watched
watched Dynamite last week watched it on Max. The second
thing is, so, so let's just say right now, aw
(35:21):
Collision got three hundred and forty five thousand last on Saturday.
Do you know what ragat.
Speaker 3 (35:30):
Zero?
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Absolutely no, nobody watched. By WWE's logic, WWE fans logic,
nobody watched. Yeah, but that's the problem that's how stupid
this is.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Hold On, that's the problem. You think that WWE fans
use logic. They don't think logically.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Yeah, but I'm just saying, and I don't hold I
don't think that. You know. Here's the thing. There's a
discussion going on about this, right and great there's wrestling
right now on the Greatness of Wrestling Subreddit. People will
say something to get people riled up on the Internet,
you know, Shane, It's not it's not exclusive to WWE fans.
(36:20):
Aw fans don't do it too. And I don't care
if the guy gets mad at me or not, because
I'm only speaking the truth. You and I both have
a buddy named air Air Gold. It's a good guy,
you know. I like him. I've spoken to him person
the person voice on voice chats for hours, I really have.
(36:44):
And but on Twitter he said an absolute prick because
he posts the dumbest shit you ever heard in your life.
Because all he's doing is trying to get engagement reactions.
And that's what people do on social media. They post,
whether it's on Twitter, if it's on Reddit, they post
(37:06):
to get a reaction. It's as simple as that. Sorry
for preaching, but I gotta say it.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
So I got, I got something that would be an
interesting thing with the whole Tony storm. H sall, guy,
I guess you want to call it. I kind of
wish she was a little more off her rocker because
she would be a match for Harley Cameron. And if
you have Cameron and the champ going again with each
(37:37):
other and starting to have something, if they could be
if they became friendly, that could lead to so much
of a story.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
It would help Harley Cameron for sure, exactly.
Speaker 3 (37:48):
But Tony's just not I mean, she's we know it,
but Tony doesn't know it, you know what I mean.
She's she's insane, but she doesn't know she's insane. That's
the hard That's the best part of it.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
Man. Let's like a Marvel arc, Like, Hey, what if
Harley Cameron was What if Harley Cameron delivered the bump
that knocked her back into being timeless Tony.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
I was thinking about that earlier too, when we first
started talking about I thought, you know, that would be
be that would be the way to end, that would
have her deliver the blow that brought Tony back to Tony.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Well, I mean, I got I've got a, I got
a go ahead, Shane, But I do have something I
want to say. I have a I have a fan theory.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
Well, we compared this to Folly and a couple of
pods back because it is very fully adjacent. But when
he was finally starting to bring all his characters around
at once, how many Tonys are actually up there? That's
the real question. I mean, like, now we they kicked
her back to the beginning of her career. What happens
when she gets back to where she was and realizes,
(38:52):
oh shit, like I was a two time champion already, Like,
I don't know, man, there's a there's so much room
for growth with how this is being real presented. I
really hope that they continue to like throw curveballs at
us with this.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
I would say, you have three Tonys, you have Tony
Storm that came into a w, you have Timeless, and
now you've got Rookie.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Yeah, but what about the outcasts? Pretend that didn't happen?
Speaker 3 (39:22):
It didn't really, I mean, seriously, did it happen.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
I think of a year from now, we will be
looking at the Death Riders pretending that didn't happen, just
like now we're looking back on the outcast and pretending
that that didn't happen.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Where is Saah, That's the real question. We haven't seen
her in a while, Harley. They had her with Harley Cameron,
and she just hasn't been around.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
And she's so good with Harley Cameron. I mean, those
two are just gold. They really are. I'm sorry, but
I when I went to the Dynamite Rampage taping and
during the long commercial break, Sorea got on the mic
and she engaged with the crowd during the match between
Karashida and I believe it was Harley Cameron and Sorea
(40:06):
was hysterical and got great crowd reactions. There's no reason
why they can't ever do that in aw But here's
my fan theory regarding Tony Storm and what's going to
break her out of these delusions that she has. So
(40:29):
tonight we saw Kyle O'Reilly come out to the ring
to the Conglomeration music, and I think that that was
done on purpose because that same production sound guy that
(40:49):
allegedly screwed up is going to be part of the story.
He's going to have a match that he has to
put the music to for Tony Storm, and he's gonna
accidentally put Tony Timeless Tony Storm's music on and it's
she's gonna hear it. It's gonna break her out of it,
(41:09):
and she's gonna lose her current delusion and go back
to her former delusion. And so yeah, so, uh, schizophrenia
at work here.
Speaker 2 (41:23):
Well, multiple personality disorder. I mean imagine it's like a
tic someone figures out how to wop it up, and
we see like a bunch of different versions of Tony Storm.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Yet another version of Tony Storm, whereas the next one
she's gonna paint herself green and think she's a statue
of liberty.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
God, Well, she's done it before, but I think she's
gonna do it because probably the last thing Mariah May
wants is for Tony Storm to remember that she was
one title of Tony Storm.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
Yeah, but I mean, like, if this is rookie Tony Storm, uh,
she would already know Mariah everything about Mariah May like now.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Yeah, but she's not. She's even before ae W Tony Storm,
because she wasn't a rookie when she came to a W.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
She's she's pre everything.
Speaker 3 (42:28):
She doesn't know anybody or anything. She knows what Tony
Storm knew when Tony Storm first started.
Speaker 4 (42:35):
To wrestler in the world, right, yep, Darty, So she
she has some right in recognition of her, some semblance.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
Of her, exactly the character I.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
Could see Mariah. I could see uh Soria getting involved
in this Tony Storm thing too, to uh possibly change
her personality.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
She's sitting, sirius. I was researching this wall when we
brought Surrey up before. She's taking a break. She's on vacation.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
See, she probably went home for the holidays. We're her family.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Yeah, she's taking a little break right now, so she
could do more stuff again because she hasn't been on
the red carpet a minute. But it's nice to be back.
That's that was Wait, what the what the fudge? She's
co hosting on MTV's Catfish What oh Lord.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
There you go. I don't think of anybody better to
do it.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
I mean she cat catfish every aw fan unearthed when
she's joined the roster.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
So talk about those big lips or hers that kind
of look like a catfish if you squid your eyes. Sorry,
but anyway, listen, So let's get to the meat of
the show. Something that we were all looking forward to
(44:03):
the return of the Cleaner the Best Bout Machine. Kenny
Omega return tonight. What did you think of his U return?
Speaker 3 (44:18):
I do not like his new theme.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Yeah, I didn't like it.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
That terrible, I thought. I I get why he did it,
I get why he got people involved in that. He
did it for he should have been a one and
done at in New Japan. He's got to come up,
go back to the original because that is terrible.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
You like the theme?
Speaker 3 (44:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Man Uh. The composer of the two of the best
Final Fantasy games New Balu Metsu and Miazami God I
can't remember his first name from Final Fantasy seven to
fourteen scored it. It's what he represents everywhere else on
Earth except for aw battlecries and aw thing. He used
to come out to One Wing an Angel in Japan.
(45:01):
He did the bull Club thing before that, whatever the
Golden Lovers were doing, which is Final Fantasy based. Yeah, yeah,
I think this is more.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
You saw his entrance of Russell Dynasty, right sure did
that was great?
Speaker 2 (45:16):
I mean Russell Kingdom last year when he did One
Wing an Angel and he had the animation synced up
to his movements like it's just that I think it's
a better representation to Kenny Omega.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Yeah, so you saw Kenny Omega came to the ring.
He started talking about his diverticulitis. I said it, anyway,
do it again. No, I'm not gonna push, but anyway,
he came out and explained about his struggles and whatnot.
(45:52):
I don't know. The audio for that whole segment was
kind of a little been off, like you could. I
don't know how you guys heard it, but there was
like the microphone was picking up one guy. I don't
know if it was a guy or kid or a
girl actually, because it was kind of high pitched, but
the one guy climbed, Yeah, kind of drowned out everybody else.
(46:16):
I did hear that?
Speaker 2 (46:19):
You know?
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Uh, when you get something like a big return like
Kenny Omega, you put five thousand camp five thousand microphones
in the crowd. I'm sorry, you do. You want to
pick up the crowd noise. You hover boom mics all
over the top, hanging from the ceiling, you know what
I mean, hanging from the raptors, get them in the crowd.
(46:42):
I don't think they did that. I don't think they
they did it right?
Speaker 2 (46:47):
I actually, Kelson, I agree with that completely. You basically
had like one microphone on all four positions in the audience,
and whenever the mic was faced at it, you heard
one guy screaming something ignorant it was it wasn't you
know what? Uh, half a billion dollars a year on
the Warner Brothers deal. Yeah, pay pay a goddamn sound engineer,
(47:11):
Tony Kahn. This has been a consistent issue for five
plus years.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
Dude, Yeah, exist one of those things. I mean, you
know when Hulkkin's reaction was louder than Kenny Ovegas, you
know it, and you know it wasn't. But that's where
it came off. That's that's the point I'm gonna make.
(47:35):
So Yeah. But so then we had, of course the
Callus don Kallis family come out. What did you think
of that whole thing?
Speaker 3 (47:54):
I think it's interesting. I think it's gonna lead to
a I don't think it's gonna be in a coda
right away. I think they're gonna they're gonna do the
Okada thing down the road, maybe towards all in, but
I think like starting next week, he's got who they
who They make that match with I can't remember now
(48:14):
just added a second ago, So Omega versus Oh Cage, Yeah, yeah, Cage.
So I think what's gonna happen is I think the
first title that Kenny's gonna have a shot at is Takeshta.
Speaker 2 (48:34):
That that's intriguing and also completely believable.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
And I think everybody talks about that. You're talking about
you're doing the poll on what titles what, and everybody's
always talking about they want some of the titles combined.
That might lead to to instead of Takesha Okada, like
I thought before, it might lead to Kenny and Okada
title for title at all in to combine them into
(49:02):
one title.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
Yeah, do a unification. That's a really good idea.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
I think that would be that would that would make
a w that would be the biggest thing in the
men's division in years.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Yeah, and I wouldn't mind seeing Takeshta versus Omega at
Grand Slam.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
Takeshta. It actually has two belts right now?
Speaker 3 (49:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (49:23):
It does yeh.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
So imagine he drops both of them on Kenny. Then
Kenny goes after Okada. We got another belt collector run
hm hmm.
Speaker 3 (49:31):
I don't think that I don't think the never open
weight type title that Takesha has is going anywhere for
a while, because that would have been that'd be a
waste of time in signing him to a contract in
New Japan for him to have the title for less
than two months.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
That does anyone have the like, I I know the
topical details because he's still under contract with AW as well,
and yeah, like so I remember, how does that work?
Is it like Yuka and Rijo where they're still on
Joshi contracts and just allowed to cross the streams and promotions.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
I don't think you could have a contract anymore for Joji?
Speaker 2 (50:07):
Oh yeah, yeah, well didn't she defect full time to
a W like eight months ago?
Speaker 1 (50:15):
She graduated from t J PW. But I don't know.
I don't think that Rio has ever graduated. Here's the
thing when you're talking about Dakeshta, I'd actually hate to
see him lose any of the titles that he has
because he's the guy right now in Japan. He he
(50:37):
defended his the AW International title twice in two days.
He's defended the AW International title three times in the
last ten days or on two different continents. He's a workhorse.
Keep them keep those titles on him as far as.
Speaker 2 (50:58):
You see how good he made look during the during
their match.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
Yeah, well, net I'm sad that that isn't herous this
tonight because she was saying, that's the E E that
I want to see. That's the E C from New Japan,
the E C E that loses so goddamn always an
A W is not the e C that people that
know E E are used to.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Oh yeah, you.
Speaker 3 (51:25):
Know murder Grandpa. It's the same for him. He comes
to ae W and he's nothing. You go to New
Japan and what's him wrestling? He's like a god?
Speaker 1 (51:34):
Yeah, well you know what it is like. It's it's
just amazing how different a wrestler could be in one
company compared to another. Look at the match card for
the n J p W show. She actually had a.
Speaker 5 (51:50):
Knack that was like what the hell is that?
Speaker 1 (52:00):
I was like, holy crap, it's a nick.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
Hey anyone here?
Speaker 1 (52:04):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (52:04):
An intent a super Nintendo fan.
Speaker 1 (52:08):
I used to be.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
I'm going somewhere with us. There's a video game called
earth Bound. Are you familiar with that?
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Now?
Speaker 2 (52:18):
There's a character in earth Bound called the Starman that's
exactly how Ishy is shaped, Yeah, look it up, and.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
Then Starman is not like anything like et No here, let.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
Me see if I could find a jiff of this.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Okay, But anyway, moving on, so, so I kind of
wanted to talk about a couple of the things. We
now know that Chrystal Lander is going to be number
one in the SEO Gauntlet Women's division next week on Dynamite. Uh,
(52:58):
would you be totally upset if they did it kind
of the same way that they did this one tonight
with the men's where they had so many wrestlers come
out and who who do you want out there in
this match? I mean, I mean, there's there's a lot
of Harley Cameron's in the world, but there's also a
(53:20):
lot of Willow Nightingales and hey, baby Soraya comes back
for that match? You never know, uh, but there's a
lot of champions out there. Would you be upset if
Mercedes Monet poked her head in?
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Now?
Speaker 3 (53:37):
I wouldn't be surprised if she did. But that was
kind of funny that they mentioned that she wrestled this
weekend but did not mention that she won and is
now a triple Crown winner. I thought that was kind
of funny. Yes, they did. It didn't I must have
missed it because I didn't think.
Speaker 1 (53:57):
Yeah. With her at an interview with her saying they did, yeah,
She's like, I I'll have three titles and four.
Speaker 3 (54:04):
Belts when they un did that happen? Where the hell
was I at?
Speaker 1 (54:08):
I don't know, you know, unless a.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
Blackout or something, because I didn't see that part.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
She's officially the most decorated woman in the history of
best professional wrestling.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
Yeah. So, I mean, look, you've got of course, we
had with all Nightingale, Chris stat Lander, and Tony Storm
tonight they should probably be in it. Uh, You've got
maybe Rio comes back, Uh, by La Rose. Look, you've
(54:40):
got Julia Hart. Uh. There's all kinds of champions that
are just there. I don't think Marina Sir is ever
going to wrestle ever again.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
Why it's gotta happen.
Speaker 3 (54:57):
No, you know, I was so hoping. I was so
hoping that the two times that she's been involved in
the match that Cope's been involved in, I was so
hoping to see his wife.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Oh yeah, I was next baby.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
I think Well, Beth Beth Phoenix was backstage.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
They've been talking about her coming back too.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
Yeah, isn't she still under contract with WWE?
Speaker 1 (55:21):
No, no, no, that was confirmed months ago. As a
matter of fact, Oh fantastic.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
Yah. When he first signed, they did an interview. I
don't remember which one of them did it. They did
an interview with somebody, I think it was Copeland and
he was talking. They asked him that question about if
Beth was going to come back into wrestling, and he said,
she hasn't. She has no contract anywhere and she's considering it,
but they haven't made any They haven't really talked about
it much. I would love to see her come back.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:49):
I want to throw something out here at you because
it's funny that Chane brought up Marina Shaffir. Because I
wrote down twelve wrestlers, female women wrestlers that I thought
would be good to have in the Casino Gauntlet Match.
And as I was writing down the list, and I
(56:10):
don't know where I put that list, but as I
was writing, because I never showed it to anybody. As
I was writing the list, I had Marina Shaffir, Nila Rose,
Julia Hart, Jamie Hayter, Tony Storm, thunder Rosa. These are
(56:32):
tag teams. These are tag teams. And I'm thinking to myself,
wouldn't it be interesting if they actually used the Casino
Gauntlet next week as a catalyst to create the tag
team match tag teams, the women's tag teams. You know,
(56:52):
start it. You're not not create it, but start to
talk about it. Because everything that I came up with,
I was peering them off Willow Nightingale or stat Lander,
you know what I mean. It's just like all the ones.
If I put a name down, I immediately put a
tag partner with them. Because again, I do think that
(57:12):
Julia Hart and Jamie Hayter are going to tag. I
really do.
Speaker 2 (57:17):
I'm I mean, now that she's taken the mist, it's
completely possible turns sky Blue, remember.
Speaker 1 (57:22):
Yeah, And if you looked at the reports, the feud
between Jamie Hayter and Julia Hart came about because it's
what Jamie Hayter wanted to do. She wanted to work
with Julia Hard, so she pushed forth, which I thought
was great because that's what we need in aw Now.
(57:48):
Another topic of discussion that I just wanted to throw
out there we can talk about briefly before we end
the show is uh As I said, earlier, I mean
to post at AW fantob subreddit asking there's eight belts
at AAW. Okay, of the eight belts, of the eight
(58:11):
title belts at AW, which one do you think right now?
Right now, not which one, I'm not asking which one
should be the most prevalent, but right now, which title
belt do you think is the most prevalent in AW?
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Anybody I would have said a TBS title, even though yeah,
I think that's the one they're pushing the most.
Speaker 2 (58:48):
Yeah, okay, that's the TBS title. It's I mean, like,
just wheel it down. It's not the World Championship. It
could be the Continental, but it's not the International Intercontinental.
What is this you know, circa nineteen ninety seven. It's
not the tag titles, it's not the trio titles. It's
(59:10):
barely the women's world title. There's more going on outside
of the title scene with the women than there actually
is going on with the world champion. So yeah, it's
the TBS, that's fair enough. Oh yeah, thet Sorry Daniel
Daniel Garcia, Sorry, obviously it's not the TNT either.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
Well, but again, a lot of the problem with those
titles on the men's side is you had the C two.
You can't discount the C two took place.
Speaker 1 (59:39):
That very inter very good point.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
There were way too many. That's one of the problems
I have with this. The C two should be like
the New Japan thing. It shouldn't be drawn out over
a whole month. It should be a weekend. They should
get together, do a whole weekend two shows, get the
mat this is over with, decide to see two. That way,
(01:00:02):
you don't interfere with all the other stuff that's going
on because you put everything else on the back on
the back shelf. Yeah, and then people go, well they're
not doing of course they're not doing it. You had
you How are you going to have Daniel Garcia, who's
the T and T champion, have other matches other than
the C two matches? Makes no sense?
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
Yeah, well, I don't usually do this, but I've been
actually read to you what I wrote about the eight
titles in order as far as the level. The way
I worded it was, let me look real quick. The
question that I put on the AW phantom is which
(01:00:43):
a w AW titles are the most important right now?
Put them in order of most to the least importance.
So this list and I think you'll see that I'm
agreeing with or you're agreeing with me, because I typed
this list before died. I want to state that number
one the TBS title. I wrote. This is a tough call,
(01:01:06):
but I'm going with the TBS title right now as
the most important title. Here's the thing, I honestly believe
that the women, the woman wins this title from Monet,
is going to be a bigger deal than any other
person who captures any other title in AW Right. Now,
that's that Number two, the international title, and I'm putting
(01:01:28):
this second because Takeshta has really made this an international belt.
He has defended this belt three times on two continents
in the last ten days. And we're not talking about
jobber matches. We're talking about wars. Number three would be
the Continental title. And the reason I put this here
(01:01:48):
is that this was a There was just a tournament
for this title, and that's why it's this high. And
if Kenny Omega does set his sights on this title,
this could easy easily elevated to the top spot. Number
four be the Women's World Championship. Honestly, this should be
number two behind the aw World Championship, but through Know
(01:02:12):
Baltimore or I may it's become the secondary women's title.
It's behind the TBS title, and then I wrote insert
a wide gap here. Number five would be the AW
world title, and I wrote this, when is the last
time we have ever seen this title? This belt has
been dragged down by the most uninteresting storylines I've seen
(01:02:33):
in years. Frankly, this whole thing is a must not
watch TV from me. The only reason I'm putting it
this high is mostly out of respect for those who
have held it before. Right now, this title is almost
utterly meaningless. Number six is the TNT title, and I
wrote for this the C two really hurt this title.
(01:02:54):
They put Daniel darkas Garcia in a moderately interesting food
fewed this will call the teased. This would cause the
TBS title to leap frog the world title for me.
In other words, Daniel Garcia the TN title the t title.
TNT title became more irrelevant because Daniel Garcia was busy
with the C two and not defending the TNT title.
(01:03:18):
Number seven of eight is the tag titles. This belt
has no heap, mostly because they're not giving Private Party
anything to do. And finally, the Trios title is at
number eight. Someone told me this title still exists. I
had to look it up to confirm it. So here
it is on the list. That was it that anything
you disagree with?
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Well, and again the trios title had the same problem
that the TNT title had because Claudio was in the
C two. There's no way he could have defended those
if they wanted to have them, as they were used
to do so many matches with the trios titles. You
can't have anybody that had a title that was in
(01:04:00):
the C two was going to diminish the title because
of the month of no matches whatsoever. True, So you
know the point of having the C two, I get it.
It's a great thing to do. You can't put current
champions in the period. End of story. If you're going
to it's it's you know, you you tell some especially
(01:04:23):
you have a problem you keep saying, you know, forbidden doors,
the we set time for ae W.
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
This C two is the same thing with the titles.
Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
Yeah, and it's the same thing with the titles. Because
no sooner did Daniel Garcia win the TNT title. The
C two started the next week, so he went a
whole month as champion, with no defenses, right, and that's
not the TNT title, because the TNT titles usually defended
every other damn show.
Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Yeah, I mean Jack, Yeah, Jack Perry defended it on
collision every collision for like a month and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:05:02):
Right, Yeah, it's just you know, come on, I mean, no,
I agree with you. I mean a lot of these
titles are less prestigious simply because they're not the family. Seriously,
we haven't seen the Trios title. I think, I think
at the fifteenth of this month will be I can't
(01:05:23):
remember it's two or three months before they've been defended.
Since it's been defended period, I mean, they're just totally forgotten.
Why do we even have them? Why do we even
have this title? Get rid of the trios title. Make
the women's tag team title. Least they will get out
there at perform, you know, have a meaningful match instead
(01:05:50):
of no match at all. What's the point? You know,
I'm in a crown all sudden, the aw fan Hub
Champion of the World.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
I would have internet.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Nobody's gonna challenge you, so it's a title.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
I'll challenge y'all. Ain't got a challenge me. I'll come
after you all I ain't sitting on my laurels. Baby,
we're gonna defend this title.
Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Yeah, well get over here.
Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
It all comes down to there may be too many titles,
but they're also the the the way they do the storylines.
You know everybody keeps clamoring for women's tag team titles.
What's the point if you don't have?
Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
But it won't be.
Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
They won't be because we.
Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Know you hate women's wrestling.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
I don't hate women's wrestling. I don't know why you
think I hate women's wrestling. No that there's just like
I hate some of the men to wrestle. Here's the point.
You have women's titles that are only one of them
is being defended right now on a regular basis. It
has been on Mercedes for almost a year. Ban said yesterday,
(01:07:09):
you hope he's not gonna keep these titles titles.
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
Wrestled more matches last year than any woman in aw
So you can't put that. I mean the wrestlers. I'm
putting it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
I'm not putting it on the wrestlers, but the way
Tony has done women's wrestling, it makes no sense to
make another title for them that he's just not gonna
he's not gonna book write.
Speaker 1 (01:07:39):
Well. Look, the argument is that there's too many titles.
We have eight titles in aw and I've asked this before.
Somebody please tell me what's the difference between the Continental
and the international title. If somebody could tell me what difference,
(01:08:00):
I'll shut up about it. Nobody to this has ever
been able to tell me a difference other than they
look different. I don't count that. I'm talking about the
actual meeting behind the titles unified the Continental, International, International titles.
You've got rid of one title there. Just make the
trios titles a ring of honor exclusive. You've gotten rid
(01:08:24):
of another title there, and you're not losing anything because
they don't. When's the last time we saw a continental
championship match other than during the CEA two. They don't happen.
When's the last time we.
Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
Saw a.
Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
Trios championship match three months ago? They don't happen. At least,
if you have a women's championship, tag team championship, they'll
get out there perform. I guarantee you they'll get out
there perform, and they'll be meaningful matches.
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
I mean the s up, I mean they've busted up
most of the factions and trios they could still you know,
have trios matches, but like the whole point is to
have like an established faction doing it. I mean, bull
Club's broken up or bull Club, bang bang Gang, whatever
you want to call them. You got two injuries. You
know you got the acclaimed are about the breakup? Where
(01:09:20):
the hell's daddy ass? You know that you just brought
on it? Yeah, I mean like they're the top light.
Just lost Androtti and uh you know Leo Rush. They
were one of the best trios in the whole entire game, right.
Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
Well, here's the other problem that you have with the
Trios Championships. When you have a trios match, you have
six men in the ring, one of those guys out
with injury, it ruins a match for five other people.
The less people you have wrestling is the better off
you are. So yeah, tag ed and I am one
(01:09:57):
of those proponents that say this all the time. The
trio's belts have taken away from the tag team because
there's too many tag teams getting a plus one and
call themselves a trios just to get out there and
challenge for a totally meaningless trios belt. They should stick
with the tag team, do a tag team tournament, do
whatever you have to do. What was one of the
(01:10:19):
best things that they did? When you say, okay, no,
no tag team, we don't need another tournament, what was
one of the best things that they did last year?
I would say that one of the best things that
AW did last year was the blind tag team that
got Adam Cole and MGF together better than Babe was
(01:10:39):
a hit.
Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Sorry it was old T shirts, that's for damn sure.
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
Yeah, and people loved it. We talked about it on
the podcast, a lot of people talked about it on
Twitter and on other social media, talked about it on
the AW fan hub sub reddit. It got a lot
of discussion. There's no such thing as bad press, yes,
unless you're hoe cokeing.
Speaker 2 (01:11:06):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Actually, here's the thing with this. I want to say
one more thing about the whole COVID thing.
Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
What is it? Uh? All, Real American Beer paid WWE
or Endurance whatever to get their branding on the show. Okay,
now ww is going to pay Real American Beer so
that they can remove the branding from the show because
they don't want that ship on their TV.
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
You know, is that real?
Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:11:38):
I guarantee you that that's that. Well, we know that
that branding for real American beer is on on Raw,
on Netflix. I mean, it's all over the place. But
I would absolutely think, I absolutely would think that that WWE,
if they were smart, would get it taken off because
(01:11:59):
it's just bad publicity for them.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
I mean, at this point, I don't think they're going
to lose viewership over it. I mean, well, they got
zero lately by their principles. Yes, they got the goose egg.
I'm I don't know. I don't think that is going
to do anything to affect how people perceive the product.
(01:12:24):
I really don't. They'll call it a ball drop and
move on.
Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
Happens back to a W though. My point is is
that yes, people argue that they have too many belts.
They have eight belts w W, by the way, as twelve.
That's not including an xt UH, but just on the
(01:12:48):
Ron SmackDown brands, there's twelve. A W is eight, but
that's too too many, and one one lesson they need
and one exclusion meaning the women's tag chack titles, because
I really do believe that the women are good enough
on AW two, do you come through with this now
(01:13:10):
on WWE. You know, one of the guys that moderates
with me at my Greatness of Wrestling, he's a big wwfan.
He's been on this podcast Max and he says that
the WWE and TAG Women's tag are dead in the water. Well,
it is what you make it. If you book it poorly,
(01:13:30):
it's going to be dead. I do think that AW
has the talent in the women's division to do a
very very very good women's tag division, and I'm pulling
for it, I really am. So anyway, that's going to
(01:13:50):
be the show for tonight. That's all lead talk for
this Wednesday Dynamite from Tennessee. Where Tennessee was this Do
you remember Clarksville? Clarksville? That's right, yeah, last train you
see us, our old asses all the.
Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
So, how's that the first thought that comes into our
mind when your clerks.
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Because because it wasn't even a monkey's band, because we're old.
These the other three guys that are here right there
are like what they're going, huh talking about the monkeys?
What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
Hey, we're the monkeys.
Speaker 1 (01:14:29):
But anyway, that's the show. We'll be back on Tuesday
night for edition and we'll be publishing that on Wednesday morning.
Thanks for listening, guys. For everybody on the a W
Fan podcasting, This is Kelson, Good night, everybody, NOY Guys,
