Speaker 1 (00:05):
It's Wednesday. You know what that means. It's time for
all Lee Talk with the a W FANTA podcast team,
our a W Dynamite review show. Dynamite took place this
week in snowy Omaha, Nebraska. And yes, we did confirm
it from last night. Omaha is in Nebraska and Nebraska
(00:26):
is still a state.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
It hasn't been annexed by Greenland.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
You guys are so meeting me last night. It's Shane
over here. Hi, everybody. I heard it's pretty cold up
there right now. Did they actually get you know, yeah, well.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
They said they said like a foot of snow at
the beginning of the show. But anyway, this is Kelson,
this is Shandy Dane.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
What do you want to talk about? First?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I guess we'll go right down the line. Let's just
talk about everything we can.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Well, let's the first of all, that international championship, the
four way match was exceptional, and I know this is
gonna be like the I could almost guess that this
will probably defy the panel. But to be honest with you,
I think that we kind of needed an outcome like this.
You got three guys who are always executing at one
hundred percent. Now we have the privilege of seeing all
(01:21):
three of these guys together in a pay per view match.
I think I don't think there's any conceivable reality where
Kenny Omega drops the belt to either of these two
find performing gentlemen. But you know what, they took a
stab at some pretty bold booking, and I thought it
was a fantastic idea.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Well, you know what, it started off really unusual because
the show started at Orange Cassidy's music kit. When does
that ever happen?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Oh geez, I mean a never in the history of AW.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
I mean, I love that they're trying new things, I
really do. You know, Speaking of Orange Cassidy, there was
one spot in that match that had me literally rolling
on the floor laughing when he tried to pin Mark
Davis and Davis kicked out at one, and Orange Cassie
argued with Bryce Rensburg saying it was a two count.
(02:16):
It was a two Like, what does that matter?
Speaker 3 (02:20):
You know?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
He I just thought that was funny.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
He doesn't want to plus one like it adds stats
to his AW roster page.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, maybe he doesn't his head.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Uh you know what. You know what, though, I said
this before and I'll repeat it until whatever I do
not like Multiman matches. I do not like them. I
did not like this one, and I can promise you
I won't like the International Championship match between Kenny Omega,
(02:59):
Ricochet and Speedball Mike Bailey. I just don't like the match.
I just don't like them. I never have it, I
never will, and has nothing to do with the combatants
or anything like that. I just don't like the matches.
I absolutely hated this match.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
You know, can we at least, at the very least
Kelcit acknowledge the fact that these guys put the time in,
They worked their butts off. They you know, they they
absolutely did the thing they were supposed to do.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
When they weren't standing around doing nothing from half the
match they were doing they're working their butts off.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yes, okay, fair enough, fair enough? Anyone else got an
riveting opinions on this match? H Wow, got like Mommy
and Daddy at dinner. Quiet over here?
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Jeez?
Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah, So I guess we're just so at Dynasty. We're
going to get Kenny Omega versus Ricochet and Speedball Mike Bailey, who,
by the way, did not do more than ten karate
poses tonight. I was very proud of him because his
first match was kind of preposterous, how many karate pos
as he did.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
But uh, well, you know he looked you know what.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
He looked like. You ever passed mortal kombats who arcaded
an older quarter, an old quarter mounch er, That's what
it looked like. Every time you passed the mortal kombats,
you arcade. You got Speedball doing one of these right here.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
So yeah, these guys look great.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
You know, whether you love the match types or not,
I think it was still a good watch. Good.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Like I said, I just don't like the match type.
That's it. You know, It's as simple as that.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I there's just too much standing around doing nothing for
no reason.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
It just looked like a tank for a while.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Yeah, so let's move on. Because this match was not
advertised until earlier in the day, and it was for
the TBS Championship, which I thought was really odd that
they did this match, as I fully expected this match
to get a little bit more build up, But I
understand why they had to do it tonight because of
the weather issues. That Tony Kahan did come out earlier
(05:11):
today and say we'll be adding more matches, but we
just don't know who's going to be here yet. Well,
Mercedes Monet and Billy Starks.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
As Taz would say.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Were there and they put on a match.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
What did you guys think of it?
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Exceptional? I think Billy Starks is a fantastic young talent.
I think Mercedes did a fantastic job of selling for
her and putting her over. I think that we had
an opportunity to finally see some really good story building here.
(05:47):
Now we know what direction they're heading in. I don't
know if we want to like dip into the end
of the card, you know, but we definitely got.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
A yeah we can you're talking about the vignette or
the backstage thing Mercedes did. Yeah, absolutely, that's part of
and we can just we can incorporate that put it down.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Remember when I used to mispronounce vignette on every so
what I say, it's vigner.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
Like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's great.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
No, No, now we know that. Now we know Athena
is on the way here and you know she's going
to be passed that Mercedes Monet had all that stuff
to say about her, and you know what, we've seen
some pretty compelling drop kicks from uh Athena, and I
believe that Mercedes just cut herself, uh check with her mouth.
(06:38):
That can't it can't give it? Is it? The expression?
She cut wrote the check walk you can't shack get cash?
So she go get her ass kicked about that?
Speaker 1 (06:49):
You wait, I just say that that's good because I
was gonna ask you.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
I don't know where my whole, like my family's from
Tennessee and I'm in Ohio. I don't know where the whole,
like I'm getting a twang thing is coming from today,
but like she's gonna get smacked there.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
You go, Well, what did you guys think of this match?
Anybody have an opinion on it?
Speaker 2 (07:15):
It was a match, It was a match.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Well, you don't like Mercedes so well?
Speaker 4 (07:20):
And and I'm sorry, I like Billy Starks, but she's
just one of the things that bothers me is when
they talk about somebody five hundreds, she's got five hundred matches,
and according to the commentators today, that doesn't mean a rookie.
I'm sorry. If you have five hundred matches in in
a couple of years, three years, five years, that's the
hell of a lot of matches. Absolutely, I just didn't
(07:42):
I don't know. It just it didn't seem like the
Billy Starks that you had in r H was the
Billy Starks that we saw tonight. He didn't look the
same and it's just weird that they would do that
that way.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Well though, I don't know about you, Shane, but I thought, yeah,
I agree with Sutton and that it wasn't the Billy
Starks from Ring of Honor. I thought it was a
better version of Billy Starks tonight. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
I don't think it was dialed in at all. I
think Billy Starks came out there and she had something.
I mean, who who wants to stay relegated their Ring
of Honor programming, you know, especially considering that you know
the whole draw off or Ring of Honor right now
is your mentor? Yeah, you probably want to show up
to the party during a match with t the TBS champion,
(08:29):
you know, if you're if your you know trainer is
going to be entering the ae re entering rather the
aw arena, you want to be right there by her
sell side and look compelling. So I thought the match
was great. I'm just saying it. You know, I expected,
you know, the definitely one of the better, finer parts
(08:50):
of the show this evening.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I don't know if you guys feel the same way,
And I don't know if Mercedes has just become a
really great seller. But there was a couple of kicks
there where I'm thinking where Bersiti's is. The look on
her face was like, you've got to be kidding me
again kind of look on her face. You know, she
looked like she got the snot kicked out of her
throat again. I don't know if you guys noticed that
(09:16):
or not.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Possible, Yeah, I mean they could be. They could be
preempting like a future injury for her, like you know
she did, now's her time. They targeted the neck. She's
you know, she's on her way out, isn't Hasn't she
been neck injured before?
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Is that her? No?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
No, that the injury.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
That's the injury she gives the other.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
People, that's the injury she gave the Soraya. Yeah, it
was a Sasha Banks that hurt Soria. Uh well, anyway,
well let's move on. What do you want to talk about?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Neck?
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Shane the outrun? The outrunners have been Yette, yeah, out.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
I mean, hey, not wire.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
It was clear that like for this specific dynamite that
they had to, you know, fill some time, because it
doesn't feel like that with the snowstorm that everyone was
actually able to safely make it to the arena. So
I get they probably had a lot of stuff recorded
on the back end, you know, to prepare in the
event that's something that might happened. Did we need it
(10:27):
at Outrunners? Vigne? Hell?
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Yeah, that wasn't really.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Hell the time, you know.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
But like you said, did you mean the same Vigner?
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Yeah, no, I said that, I said, I said Vigne intentionally.
Now I'm poking. I'm poking fun of myself, which I
should do more often. It just I I they it
did this specific show feels like exactly what it was.
(11:03):
There was a snowstorm, they got caught in the center
of it, and they had a lot of time to fill,
and they figured out how to fill that time the
very very best that they could.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
I was surprised that they actually did not promote after
the Outrunners Vigner. I hoped. I kind of thought that
they would promote the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. I mean,
it's on Max, it's on TBS, it's on TNT. At
least I think it's on TBS. I know it's on TNT.
(11:37):
I thought they were promoted, you know, but maybe they
just got thrown off by.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
The wisdom that the outrunners were spewing.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
You know.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
I mean, I got to get a shirt made that
you know, it's it's it's ninety percent metal and the
other fifty percent is all in your head.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, or it's ninety nine percent still in the eighties
and and one percent of it's reflecting off the satellite
that is your dome piece. Let's move on to the
next vignette, the MJF thing man like, Now, this was
clearly planned for this program, and guys, for the first
(12:18):
time in the history of this podcast, you're gonna hear
me say it. I don't care about what I do,
not give a flying Dutchman about what the hell's going
out with them, Jeff right now, because they're really not
making him look too compelling to me right now. I mean,
he's losing all of his matches again. It's like watching
him get power bombed into oblivion by Wardlow and then
(12:41):
putting the breathalyzer on him backwards again, except they're doing
that to his career in aw like just if you're
gonna do something with the guy, do something with the guy.
Rip the band aid off, stop dragging it through all
the way to pay per views. Let's get some real
stuff going. Let's let's see some dev MJF. If you're
not going to give that to us, you might as
(13:03):
well just, you know, damp his paycheck and send him
out to NXT in two thousand and seven, twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Wow, does anybody else have any opinions about the MFMJF vignette?
Speaker 4 (13:17):
He needs to lay off the self taining because that
was terrible.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
I didn't notice. I honestly, I didn't notice.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
You know what, Shane, You know what, Shane, Here's here's
here's what I think. Later on in the show, he
had Hagman Adam Paige on hag Man Adam Paige beat
MJF at the last pay per view. I don't understand
why MGF is getting this push. Kind of like you're saying,
(13:50):
is do I think MGF will deserve it eventually, Yes,
But right now I don't think he deserves this because
he's not in the world title Pichure. In my opinion,
Hagman is we at least Hangman is higher up at
the world title picture than mjf is.
Speaker 6 (14:09):
That's just as he should be, because I mean, at
least what's going on, Like, at least we know that
if Swerve Strickland drops this bet belt off of Mocks,
we're gonna get more of Hangman in and Page and
Swerve and that's gonna be frickin' awesome, you know, Like
(14:31):
that's that.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
There's nothing else really, you know, I'm not gonna talk
that one to death.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, I get it, but I don't know it's it
is what it is. You know, it's wrestling, so so
everything doesn't have to be logical, but I want it
when it is logical.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Uh, let's move on, because.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
As we approached the nine o'clock hour or the hour
mark of the show, they try it out the street fight.
Was anybody surprised that this wasn't the main event? First
of all? And the second of all, what did you
guys think of the street fight?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
I liked it.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
I thought it was a good match. The use of
the use of the hell's the name of that damn thing?
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Bike?
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Spike? Oh yeah, because I keep forgetting it spiked because
they referred to as female but call it spike weird anyway,
that was that was crazy. That was just one of
the sickest things you've seen I've ever seen in wrestling.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah, that was kind of disgusting. That was I think
it was making the announcers squeamish.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Yeah, I think it made him a real squeamish And
it really to me when you saw when you have
looked at the at the camera, the hard camera, he
looked like he have a freaking clue what to do.
Speaker 5 (15:52):
Yeah, was O God.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah, that was certainly uh inter rusting match. The spike
in the back thing was a little bit like extra.
But then again, you know how many pictures of there
are falling around the end of Internet of mocks with
pencils sticking out the side of his head or you know.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
A whole newer viewers.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Sticking out of the center of his face. I mean,
he's done everything from the like body suspensions to like,
you know, full on nail beds, So this isn't anything
new for him.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Yeah, I don't know, it's to me that was the
highlight of the match for sure, because it caught my
attention because the rest of the match honestly did not.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Yeah, Kelson, I got to get you back on this one.
You know, I always try to be optimistic about these
sorts of things. I think that the most interesting match
was is that there was a Christian cage angle without
Christian cage.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
So yeah, I was wondering that maybe Christian got stuck
in this, you know, in the air report somewhere and
couldn't make it because of the snow. But and Nick
Wayne and Mama Wayne were there, so.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Be punished by Mama. He's not allowed to show on
TV until he apologizes to her son.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Unless this is their separation from Christian Cage. But I
really don't foresee that being a thing.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
I don't either, simply because they really didn't play it up,
meaning the announcers, they did not really play that kind
of up. They if it was something they would have
planned a seed. Let's put it that way.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah, Kelus and I agree with you on that one.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Well, then we had Bandido backstage. Oh by the way,
Boxley won the match, yay whatever?
Speaker 3 (17:52):
And how did he win?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Well?
Speaker 1 (17:57):
One, one, two, three or five people interfered on his behalf.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
I will say we did actually get Dax Harwood walking
away from Adam Copeland, and that is a more interesting
element to the match, But I do not foresee this
something that is something that Tony's gonna pull the trigger
on full time. I think we'll probably get like some
collision banter this weekend, like maybe some bouncing up like well,
(18:28):
you know what, I'm just sickuld being surrounded by losers.
We haven't been on a weeding streak since we were
triple Crown winners, since we partnered up with you know, Cope.
You know, But I think that's as far as that'll go.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
I'm mean to be honest with you, Shane, I forgot
all about FTR being around.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
You also overlooked the most important part of the whole
thing was the end when Prince Nana made a phone
call and I guarantee wasn't calling Swerve.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Who do you think he was calling? There?
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Pal, he's calling in some backup because he ain't stupid,
and they know that they've got four people that they
have to go against, So he's calling in some backup.
I don't know who it is yet, but he's not
not coming to this party by himself. I almost guarantee that.
Speaker 5 (19:11):
Well, I'll tell you who.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Maybe he called the Bongles.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Yeah, no, I'll tell you who, it's not top dollar,
so what if it's more? Oh please no, don't what now? Man?
And Edzo's cleared his name and he's doing great work,
and he's been talking about a W a lot lately.
(19:37):
You don't think it'd be fun to see Enzo and
a W right now with everything that they got going on.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Not really, only if it's a big Bill.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Yeah, that be the worst part.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Well, I mean they've already kind of hinted towards breaking
the two uh boo Jericho and Bill.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
And we know that's gonna happen. But Big Bill would
be better on his own.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
I have grew with that statement completely. When they separated
the two of them in w W, they were fantastic.
It was fantastic. I mean it didn't last long, but
like I mean, it wasn't for a you know, it
didn't last long for two reasons. One they got him
back together and two Enzo was gone about three weeks
after that. But like, yeah, I think Enzo I hate
(20:20):
to be that guy. I would love to see Enzo
be involved at the bigger promotion and get some screen time.
I think he's had plenty of time to sit on
his hands and repent for his sins against the father.
You know that says a gig against the big brother
against Big Daddy Fed. You know, someone told me they
hate the term the FED today to me talking to
(20:43):
a wrestling fan at work, like, oh, it has been
the FOD since two thousand and one, and I was like, yeah,
tell that to the Fed. Their pal.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
And spicy prediction for all in twenty twenty seven is
going to take place in Cardiff, Wales, and Big Bill
is going to become the rain Aw World Championship. Yes,
he's going to take the briefcase off of John Moxley.
Probably will take until twenty twenty seven for this to happen,
and the crowd is going to go nuts because well
(21:13):
Bill is the favorite wrestler of Cardiff.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Bro that belt is coming off of mox at Dynasty,
it's going right back on Swerve. They've already hinted enough
to it, and you know what cool. Maybe it'll break
up the Death Riders. Maybe Beauty will finally screw up
and land the wrong shot. Maybe Danielson is coming back.
This spank is protege. You know that there's a lot
of things to unpack there, but I they listen one
(21:41):
thing I will say, if Tony Kahan doesn't nut up
and do something other than what he's doing right now,
he's going to start losing viewership again. He's on top
right now. He's got to keep the he's got to
keep the foot on the gas.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Well that's that's the other thing that I wanted to
talk about, is we started it, then we went back.
But Bendino backstage looks like he's working toward challenging Chris
Jericho again. And they did make a match between Bendino
and I can't even remember who he's wrestling.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Go one Saturday, Saturday or.
Speaker 5 (22:16):
Sunday Sunday Nighthors TV.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yeah, Johnny TV. Oh freaking hum. You know, nothing against
Johnny TV. But that's just why you wasted time.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
That announcing that match is not going to get anybody
to tune in to watch that match.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
It's a match, Are you ready go for it?
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Chris Jericho is going to drop that belt on the
sixth during zero hour because Fozzy is going to be
on tour from the sixteenth of April until the twelfth
of May. And there it's like it's not like one
of those like you know, Fozzy goes on. They're only
(23:00):
doing festivals. They're playing like every three day, So but.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
Where are they going on tour?
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Uh? Well, Chris Jericho, you sure do owe me a
t shirt. Fresno, California, the twenty sixth, the twenty fifth,
Whiskey and Go Going and Hollywood. Uh the they're playing
the tour Okay? Yeah, yeah, they're all Does anyone care?
Speaker 2 (23:30):
No?
Speaker 4 (23:30):
So well, the only problem I have with that is
the last time he had a title and was supposed
to go on tour, they went on tour in Europe
and he didn't drop the title.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Yeah, I kind of have to agree with sud here Shade.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
I really don't think that Jericho is going to drop
the title because of the tour. He may drop the
title because Beddido's hot, you know what.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Just to be fair the last and I was in
a hub the last time, you know, like I made
this statement that Jerry remember that this was almost a
year ago, right, so oh he was going on tour.
He's also backing up the tour with a quarantine tour
as well. So just saying, just saying, I'm not paying
(24:20):
fifty five dollars plus fees to go see Fozzy though,
that's crazy. The price for his tickets are outrageous.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
But his fans will, especially when you have baby Metal
and Ginger. I think touring the United States at the
same time.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
I'd rather go see baby Medal.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
I'd rather go see Ginger.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Ginger.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Ready, Ginger's opening up for baby Metal. So there you go,
h come here.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Yeah, I was looking at it. It's like baby like
like fifty days, they're playing thirty six dates or something like.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
It's insane. It's insane. Anyway, what do you want to
talk about next, Shane.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Yo, let's talk about Uh, we didn't even get we
didn't even talk really talk about Bandido, but just a
brush on it. Bandido cut a promo, moving on to
Ospray and Airfox. Ospray and Airfox it was a fun match.
I want to touch on the assassins. I have to say,
(25:29):
like the like the elephant of the room is the
Assassin's Creed drama and Ospray came out wearing the black,
white and red the cover color for the new Assassin's
Creed game, which got an eight out of ten on IGN.
And for those of you who play Assassin's Creed games,
that's actually pretty good for ass an Assassin's Creed game.
(25:51):
It looks like the game is a lot of fun.
It's actually taking a little bit of heat online the
woke Artmi's coming after it. We're not talking politics on
this podcast. But back to the match. The match was good.
It was a good match. It was just a solid
filler match.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah, it was what I expected.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
It didn't ve me disappointed, but it didn't give me like, oh, hey,
r Fox, does there's a child for a child? Yeah,
but I would say, tor Fox, if it was a child, No,
I won't let you have my baby because that's reserved
(26:28):
for Atisaro.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
You might.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
You know what you yourself check because you might set
you on fire.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
Went at just Sarah debut in a w We did
a podcast and it was just me and Alex uh
who has is doing his own thing now. But Alex
and I both decided on that evening that we wanted
at Sarah to have our baby, each of us so
because we just fell in love with that.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
To Sarah, he's fun, he's fun. He's like, he's like
uh Luchador Brian Danielson. That also is Chris Jericho the Wizard.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
And a little bit of Beast Mortos too.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
And a little bit of best Mortos.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
You know, there's really.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
You know, there's really not that much show left to discuss.
I mean, you know, we already touched on the Hangman
backstage thing. We know that this is gonna gonna end
with Hangman and Swerve. We touched on Mercedes Monette and
all the crap talk she just did do Athena. We
know that Athena is gonna show up next week and
knock her block off, and then we're gonna get a match.
(27:44):
And yet we'll probably get a match at Dynamite, and
if we're lucky, Athena will finally earn her place back
on aw television by taking the belt off of Mercedes
Moninee on April sixth at Russell Dynasty.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
But now, Sane, did you get the impression that it's
not only going to be a Theena, but it's going
to be Billy Starks as well.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
Yeah, that'd be great because you know, Athena puts over
Billy Starks a ring of honor, a ring of passes,
the torch on Billy carries, the ring he carries, you know,
the ring of honor, the banner, and Athena finally is
where she belongs on TV every single week, Missile drop
(28:27):
kick and every woman that gets in her way.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Same. Before we get to the main event, I want
to bring up some breaking news. Well it's not breaking
news anymore, but Tony Kahn didn't mention the status earlier
today of a wrestler that has not been on TV
for a while, and No, I thought it was very
(28:52):
interesting what he said. Uh, the wrestler is Camille. The
way Tony Kahan was talking, he basically said, I mean,
I'm paraphrasing. You know, Camille said, Tony con said, she
turned her back on Mercedes Monette and it'll be so
(29:15):
interesting to see what she's.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Gonna do when she comes back.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
Good for Tony.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
So Tony basically came right out and said, yeah to
Camille is still with us. You know, we don't know
where she was. He was doing the whole Kape thing.
You know, we don't know where she went. But when
she comes back, she's gonna be pissed.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
You know that might you know, her injury might actually
be legitimate, and I never want to say in a
perfect world behind the statement, her injury might be legitimate,
but you know, she comes back has something to prove
and we get some good rassling.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
You know, it was kind of weird because I was
kind of so were to half expecting Camille to show
up during the main event of this match to tonight's
Dynamite the main event match. Of course, it didn't happen,
But I think that that's a pretty darn good feud.
If you were to have Camille, Chris Statlander, and Mega
(30:17):
Baine in the same ring together, holy crap.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Oh yeah, what would call that a slobber knocker?
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Lober knocker?
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Well, what did you get? What did you guys think
of Bain and Statlander? I mean, as we talked about
last night, well, MK brought it up, you know, he's
not with us tonight, but he did bring it up
in chat that he had concerns about Megabine no selling everything,
and we kind of talked about it last night. Was like,
that's kind of she's as an Amazon.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
You know, she's a punch.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Isn't gonna have the same effect on her as it
would on every other wrestler the aw women's division.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
But what did you guys think of this match tonight?
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Very good match, very good match. Not exactly thrilled of
the outcome to be honest, because I'm uh, you know,
a gigantic Chris Statlander fan. But I understand why we
(31:28):
needed to have it. I suppose I it was a
good showcase for both women and they both came out swinging,
and I just I'm sick of seeing Statlander to be
used as enhancement talent when she is more than capable
of being in the world title of arena. If you,
if you could put the belt on Jamie Hayter, you
(31:49):
could have if you when Jamie Hayter was the middle
person in that in that faction with Britt Baker and
whatever her face is rebel it was rebel, yeah, like
or could I just go back to whatever her face?
If yeah, if you could put the belt on Jamie Hayter,
why the hell can't you put it on? Why can't
(32:10):
stat have a belt? Run? You know, I, you know,
just give her her day in court because I know
that she could carry this company on her back. Sutton, man,
I know this is a sore subject for you too, man,
because you're in the same position as me. Bring us home, brother.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Dude, just like this.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Okay, Tony Collins does not have a good track record
with handling women's division. There are plenty of things that
he's doing wrong in the women's division. I don't have
a problem with the women's division. I like a lot
of the wrestlers in the women's division. But I get
bad news for you. Don't count on a thing of
beaten Mercedes for that title anytime soon, because one Mercedes
(32:50):
isn't losing that title until she's beaten Jay Cargill's record.
I guarantee you that's gonna happen. She's not losing that
title before the end of the year because if he
wants to erase j car Gill from the company, and
that's what it's gonna take to be done. So she
gonna keep that title forever until Athena. I keep saying
this and I'll say it again. Until Athena loses the
(33:13):
r o H Women's title, she will not be in
ae W. She has she said, she said that in
the past. She doesn't want to be in both. She
wants to be in one.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Or the other.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
And until they take that title off of her, be
it giving it to Billy Starks or somebody else, She's
staying in r o H. Christat Leonard has been.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Misused what's that you take it off of vacate.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
Well, she could do that too, but I don't see
her doing that again.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
R o H.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
She's all he got right now. There's not a whole
lot of other things to do in r o H
besides her. Look who the champion is on the men's sides,
Chris Jericho. When's the last time he was in r
o H and defended the title?
Speaker 3 (33:52):
That would be a whole zero whopping since death before
to sign her.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Okay, it's been three months, four months on my So
the point is, Chris Statlander took this company when when
they had to jade Car Gill fiasco during the pandemic
and put it on her back. She did everything for
this company. She's been the best women's wrestler in this
(34:18):
company since she came back from her knee injuries. Again,
she hasn't missed any time since then, and she's done
everything they've asked her to do and they don't give
her any credit. And it's terrible. I'm sorry, it's just
that's just like, why would you even want to work
for a company that does that to you?
Speaker 3 (34:37):
I mean, you know, the promise the promise of future
advancement I mean like, yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
But how many times are you going to promise somebody
in five years that they're going to get a shot
eventually and they just keep giving it to other people?
I mean, winning that title off with Tony Storm and
that's just something unless Penelope does something to cause it.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
I'm gonna tak you.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
I've been trying to get this in. I wanted to
say something a little bit controversial here. Uh stat Lander
when she was out with that knee injury. I think
that derailed her a lot more than you think it did,
because part of me is thinking that she was never
supposed to take that title off of Jade Cargill. I
(35:27):
think she was supposed to take that title off of
the current AW Women's Champion.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Uh, Jamie.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
Look, if here's a controversial thing that I'm gonna say,
based on the booking alone, Based on the booking alone,
Jamie Hater should have never been a w Women's World Champion.
Let me let me finish the thought. Let me tell
you why, Steve, let me tell you why that.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Let me let me tell you why.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
Okay, with the exception of Siraya, Jamie Hayter has of
the AW Women's World champions, Jamie and and of the
TBS champions.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
To be honest with you as well, Jamie Hayter has.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
The worst winning percentage of any of them.
Speaker 7 (36:27):
She just she she doesn't, she said the fifth She
said the like, if I'm not mistaken, she said, like
the fifty six percentile in the women win and win losses.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
So she nearly loses as many matches as she wins.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
And that's the booking.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
That's why I'm saying it smprised me that Jamie Hayter
was booked to be world champion and on the women's side,
because she wasn't being booked as a winner before that.
And if you look at what she became the interim
world champion, look at the three months before that, you'll
see she wasn't winning squad right.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
Well, here here's my counter to that. And we've seen
this time and time again with TK. He does not
change his plans. He kept the title on Jade Cargill,
the TVs title on Jade Cargile so long because Chris
Statlander was out. As soon as she came back, she
got a match immediately as a second match in a
(37:26):
pay per view against Cargile and beat her. And that
was the end of Cargo. It wasn't we're gonna set
this up ringing. She came in and after a pay
per view match that Cargill had already won and got.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Beat, Cargill was but Cargill was already on her way
out the door.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (37:42):
Yeah, but it's it wouldn't have mattered if it wouldn't
have been it wasn't. It's just the way he does
his booking. He's always done it in the past. He's
not changed things. That's just like you can sit there
and people were complaining about John Moxley having this title.
If we were right back when we first predicted this,
that Darby is the one who's going to take the
title off of him, this is perfectly what he would
(38:05):
be doing. He keeps the title on Moxley until what
he wants done is done.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Yeah, I'm just saying, and Darby Allen's probably not going
to be back at a w until like.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
I don't know, October, right, But I mean the point
is he's done this almost every situation. Look look what
he did with the Devil in Uh, with Matt, with
Max and Adam Cole. He delayed that whole thing a
whole entire year because of injury, and then had to
(38:39):
match when they came back, even though nobody cared. He
kept that match a whole year unreserved, but as soon
as they were both healthy again, he had to match TK.
I love him to death and he's one of the
greatest promoters of all time, but the guy has issues
when it comes to getting an idea in his head
(38:59):
and not change his mind. I'm just saying that Christlander
has been misused. She's done a lot for this company
and she's never really been given a real title run.
She should be the next in line for the women's
world title. We know Meghan Bane's not winning, unless, of course,
he decides to make her a monster that doesn't get
beat like he did with Jake Cargill. So you know,
(39:22):
maybe Stantlander will get a shot after Megan Bain does.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
But wins as if that's part of the story. If
it's gonna be an ongoing story, I could see Meghan
Bain winning. If it's if it's gonna be one and done,
then there's no way Megan Band's gonna win.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
You know how that's you know what that's pretty It's
reminiscent of how Eric Bischoff booked the junior heavyweights in
w CW right towards the end of that, like, you
want to hold on to these stories because you don't
got a lot of these guys doing the same exact thing.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
You know.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
You gotta work, Yeah, you gotta work with what you have.
So when someone gets put on the reserve list, you
kind of got to just accept that and and bring
him back when I bring him back into the fold
the same way that you had planned. But the thing
is is, like, didn't work then, doesn't work now? Yeah,
And it's funny to watch Bischoff take shots at that
(40:22):
now considering that like he screwed that up way way,
way way worse, you know, like for like that that
geriatrical douchebag wasted so much of Ted Turner's money and
has the goal to sit there behind a microphone and
act like he deserves to have commentary on what happens
in professional wrestling today, a podcast for a different day, folks.
(40:46):
What I will say. What I will say is that
is that at the end of the day, I agree
Stunton in terms of just the stat Lander thing. I
actually agree with you completely. She's taken it on for
lack of better terminology, and excuse me for saying this,
but she has taken it on the channel whole bunch,
and it's not I I honestly think that she's worked
(41:10):
enough towards the goal of having more notoriety than being
an enhancement talent for someone that's been on the scene.
And this is me eating my words from last night, okay,
because you know, I like I was pretty aggressive about
making that bron breaker and panic comparison, like, like, you know,
to someone that just showed up to the party, for
someone that's been around since day one, Come on, show
(41:32):
this chick a little more respect, you know, if you're
gonna at least have her plow through other women who
are actually getting beaten like you know, Penelope Ford Thunder Rosa.
When was the last time Rosa won a real match.
It makes sense that she's getting beaten up, you know,
like Thatt's the you know, stat is still winning here
(41:53):
and there.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
You know, I just you know, it doesn't seem like
it doesn't seem like a chained But when it comes
to the former women to the Women's World champions Funda,
Rosa has the best winning percentage in solo matches. I love,
you know, but it doesn't seem like it because she
just doesn't seem like she wins that often.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
But she does.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
Like I said, the biggest problem I have with the
women's division is you've had titles. The titles have been
locked in way too long, including like even the Women's
World Championship. I mean, they drug that out a whole year,
sixteen months. It was the best thing that's ever happened
in aw but it was locked into two women the
whole time. Mercedes has had the TVs title over a year.
(42:39):
She's not even been given any kind of chance even
look like she's gonna lose the title. She got her
throat destroyed in the last pay per view and still won.
They're not taking the sedle off for her until he
wants to have somebody she's going to break that record.
I'm not even sure what Jay Cargill's record was.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
Sixty one. I want to believe.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
I believe it was, and there's no way that Mercedes
is going to come close tough.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Right that, I really don't There's no way.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
I probably, Yeah, I think we could probably end this
one on throat destroyed.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
Yeah, I do think that you're going to have a
lengthy program between Mercedes Monett and Athena and that it'll
probably go back and forth over several matches. I really
do believe that we're going to have a trilogy similar
to uh, well, Hater and Heart and Queen Aminata and Heart,
(43:42):
you know and don't get.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
Those are the.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
Yeah, but I'm just saying that they don't necessarily have
to be for the titles.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
They could just be rivalries.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
That's one of the things that I've said before. You
know that I love what I see matches that our rivalries,
like Kyle Fletcher and will Ospray at the last pay
per view at Revolution, there was there was no title
on the line there, but that match meant something, and
(44:14):
that's when you know you're booking, right.
Speaker 4 (44:16):
I got a question for you. Remember in December at
the last pay per view when Mercedes beat stat Lander
and we talked about how Statlander was going to get
the third win to take that title back.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
Yeah, it looks like she's not even gonna get a
shot now.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
No, So you know, like I said, Tony, Tony Kahn
really has bad issues with the women's division. He doesn't
he sets things up the way he wants him to be,
and he's not changing it no matter what happens. And
he's not looking out for people who have been there
a longer. He's not looking out for his day one
people like he does on the Men's Sign. It's just
(44:52):
he's he's doing a really pissed poor job. Other than
the Mariah and Tony h that everything else he's been
blowing completely. That's just my opinion.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
But my brother, it is a predetermined sport. Who are
we to say that they don't have a working agreement
where Chris Statlander continues to take the owl and then
one of these days she has her come up and
we don't we we can only guess. We're Yeah, this
is the problem with Spara smart marked them across pro
(45:27):
rep We are I mean, and I am a terrible
offender of this, says to be so entitled to believe
that I know exactly what's going through these guys, these
bookers' heads when they're putting these people in the ring together,
like we just don't know, Like it's just.
Speaker 4 (45:45):
Very based off of let's go based off of past evidence.
Let's just put it that way. He's not shown any
ability to do anything good with the women's division. He
really didn't have a whole lot to do with the
Marid storm thing either. That was more our j.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
And he nailed it. You know.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
It was more his idea and than Tony's.
Speaker 8 (46:06):
And that's the point I'm I'm just going based on
what I've seen for five years of watching Tony Khan
run the women's division and not do a very good
job of it.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
The the truth of the matter is r J. City
was a writer on the Tony Stormer Mariah May thing.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
This was an interview that came out right around Revolution.
I'll see if I can find it again, but it
did state that that r J was a writer, he
was part of creative but it was Tony Kahan's baby, so,
you know, hard to believe, but that's what That's what
(46:50):
it was said.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
And we we talk about this ad nauseum. But I
think it's only because our passion for course no a
w you know, we want to see this company continue
to grow, so to see you know, Benjamin Franklin said it,
those who don't learn from the past are doing to
repeat it, right. We want to see it, you know,
or do we want to continue to see the same
(47:14):
you know, derivative dribble or do we want to see
do we want to see some bangers man?
Speaker 1 (47:19):
You know, we want to you know, you know, there's
so many questions that I have. You know, we talked
about Chris Statlander. I'll talk about you know, you can.
I don't want to talk about it, but you can
think about, like Marina Shaffir. How many times there is
Willow going to come out and closeline Marina Shafir before
they say, hey, let's have a match. You know, I
(47:40):
don't think Marina Shafir has had a wrestling match at
actual wrestling match since twenty twenty two or something like that, So, uh,
what's going on there? I mean, and frankly, Willow is
another one. She's She's definitely paid some dues and deserves better.
That's why I hope that we're going to get this
(48:01):
women's tag team title going, because there's a lot of
wrestlers that deserve it, you know, that a pay their dues.
I mean, you could look at women like Sky Blue
who just ate loss after loss after loss, Julia Hart
ate loss after loss after loss, Willow Nightingale.
Speaker 2 (48:23):
Eight loss after loss after it.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
Didn't seem like it, but if go back and look
at her early record at AW, she couldn't beat a fly,
you know, and now she's Willow Nightingale, you know. So
it's it's something that happens. Megan bain ate it too,
you know when she first arrived at AAW.
Speaker 3 (48:46):
Does it feel like that there are too many female
puegode souls? No?
Speaker 4 (48:52):
I what I don't get is and it makes me
upset about it. And why I have such issue with
the women's division is they don't seem to that problem
on the men's side, well, the titles side.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
The men's side is a little bit different to me.
One is that there are a lot more men than
there are women in a w Well, yeah, but the.
Speaker 3 (49:18):
But they.
Speaker 1 (49:21):
I don't know how to phrase this. Tony Kahan likes
his old geezer wrestlers, and there's not that many of them,
so you're just gonna see them all over and over
and over and over again. I mean, you've got guys
like You've got like guys like Swerve and hang Men
and MG to definitely deserve it. But how many belts
do do those three have had the last year one and.
Speaker 4 (49:49):
They have more men involved. Okay, for example, Yeah, they've
got more titles. But right now, for the men's title.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
You have.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
And JF hang Man Swerve. Uh, who's there? Everybody else
I'm missing that are all wanting the title that you don't.
You don't have that many women in the women's division.
You have as many women wrestlers that could be up
for it, but it's two people. It's Meghan Bain and
Tony Storm.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (50:17):
For every title on the men's side, they have more
than one person going for it. On the women's side,
it's you either have one champion and one person going
for it for both titles. They don't have multitude of
women that could be up for it. You could have
You could have stat and Baine, and you could have Thunderosa,
(50:39):
and you could have anybody else you want to put
on that all going after Tony Storm's title.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
So don't do it. Yeah, just to get just to
give you guys some actual statistics. There are officially one
hundred and ninety four individuals signed to AEW under aid
you contracts, forty one of those being women, and those
women also include Renee Renee Piquette, Alisha taut laxin Air,
(51:11):
So more like thirty eight.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
At those women also women like Red Velvet, who an
athena who.
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Never wrestle in a W anymore, haven't two years?
Speaker 5 (51:27):
Jarrett?
Speaker 3 (51:27):
Yeah, Karen Jarrett, my MoMA, mother, Wayne, you know. And
then those people actually have dual contracts with Ring of Bonnor.
Of course I'm looking of course, you know me. I'm
on screen number two right now doing all my big men. Well, anyway,
Emmy Sakhuri is still signed with AW right now. That's impressive.
Speaker 1 (51:49):
Yeah, well, look that's we're going to end the show here.
That was our AW Dynamite All we talk. AW Dynamite

five Eastern time for Ignition, where we will talk about

women's division's, uh, this is something that's worth talking about
(52:33):
in AAW because the men's I mean, maybe, well, there'll
be a topic that we talk about on Tuesday night,
do you guys feel like the men's division just doesn't
have interesting belts. There's I mean, think about it, the
belts that are not being defended as much.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
You know, join us on Tuesday night for our for
