Speaker 1 (00:04):
It's Wednesday. You know what that means. It's time for
all the talk with the aaw fan on podcast team.
We just saw aaw Dynamite from Sacramento, California, the go
home show leading into Collision on Saturday night and of
course followed by Revolution on Sunday night. This is the
aw Fan Podcast Team's Revolution preview and prediction show. Let's

(00:31):
get started by talking a little bit about Dynamite.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
This is Kelson and this is Shane d Hey Kelson Man. Listen, Honestly,
I'm gonna I'm gonna say the dangerous thing like it was.
It wasn't a bad Dynamite, but it wasn't a typical
go home show. I mean, like, I enjoyed Dynamite for
the most part, but it wasn't huge or explosive. I mean,

(00:55):
I think to me, the biggest thing that happened during
Dynamite was the wheel you know, uh, the wheeler uta thing. Like,
like everything else is pretty predictable. I'm uh, I'm excited
for the pay per view on Sunday, but I mean
we didn't really get anything building into like uh into
the pay per view. I mean, what do you think

(01:16):
about it? Guys?

Speaker 3 (01:19):
I agree, it kind of wash after the last few weeks.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Leading up to this week. It was kind of a
dud to me.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I mean it was. It was a decent show, but
nothing major.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Well, don't forget. Also it was a go home show.
I mean, nothing really happens. And also also it did
come out before a couple hours, two or three hours
before to show. I believe is that there's some kind
of illness going through the aw locker room and several
talent was unavailable tonight. That's not dud. They got nothing

(01:52):
to do with the with with the matches tonight, but
you know, it's still.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
It was a little disappointed enough to see keny Omega.
I mean, you know, they're four days away from pay
per view and he's been backing up Will the whole
then to a bank working together us. Kind of disappointed
enough to see him tonight.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
But maybe he was one of the illnesses. You don't know. Yes,
I hope nobody was really. I hope it was just
a sniffles or something like that. If I was, you know,
so probably or something.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
We got collision in the tubes as well, So I
mean it's not like, excuse me, it's not like we
don't have more eight of you things to look forward
to prior to the pay per view, you know, lots
of room for press as well. I mean, I'm not
saying that it was a bad dynamite. It was a
good dynamite, but it just at dynamite and collision have
been exceptional that we've we've been spoiled for the past month.

(02:49):
That like, I just figured that coming into revolution with
as it seems, you know, it seems like they're about to,
you know, pull the blanket back and start in some
bigger things in terms of like the death Riders and Cope,
and there might be some belts changing that they might
have taken some liberties with this dynamite. They really didn't.
They kind of just played it safe. They played very

(03:11):
safe on this dynamite.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Hey Shane, you know you brought up Wheeler. You did
you catch the get a haircut chance?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
No? No, I did not.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yeah, the whole crowd was doing get a haircut, get
a haircut. You know what I was thinking too, is
that is that if he does get a haircut, that's
his face turn. I mean, literally, seriously, well was it?
I did not mean that? Literally?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I bet that figuratokes guys.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Grows some able, he turned face.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
No, he's wore face now if he grew hairy, turn
heel man, don't you watch the shows? Do you not know?
Bald is bald his heel? I bald his space, and
and and and Harry is heel. So I mean Ricochet
is just Harry, you know? Yeah, he's Harry.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Within John Cena balding is heel balding not?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
But is bald in the heel?

Speaker 5 (04:23):
Or she has your heat?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
My favorite part, look, look, my favorite part of Dynamite
was was the look on Penelope Forward's face when you
realized that Megan Babe was going to pick her up
and throw her on her ring at Chris stat Lander
and uh thunder Rosa. I thought that was priceless.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Yeah, that was a good sight. That was that was
that faces prices.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I don't know about you, guys, but I don't ever
want to see Megan bay And lose a match.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Ever, and with with her current trajectory, I don't think
that Tony Kahan is going to put her in that position. Yeah.
I again, it was a solid offering for Dynamite, but
it did not feel like like a go home show.
It felt like just like a normal dynamite or getting
normal aw programming. So I hope that this is not

(05:13):
indicative of what Revolution looks like, because honestly, guys, I
would like to see Revolution blow up. I want to
see them do some crazy stuff at Revolution. I want
to see people come back. I want to see you know,
people debut. I want to see explosive matches. And it's
just this dynamite just felt very it felt safe. It

(05:34):
just felt safe. It just felt like they were playing.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
It didn't feel and I feel that was the right
thing to do, especially given what time of year it is,
and there is a go home show, so god forbid
someone gets injured is vital to the show on Saturday.
On Sunday, I'm sorry, So if someone gets hurt or

(05:57):
as you said, there's an onus going around, it's the
right decision to make.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, well, well, look enough about dynamite. Let's get into
the meat and potatoes of this show, the clean shaven
segment of this show, the Revolution preview, and we're gonna
start at the bottom and work our way up to
the top of the match card. And I know d

(06:23):
had something that he wanted to say about the zero
Hour match, the trios match, So go ahead, d We'll
let you go first.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Oh yeah, I might be in the minority here. In
as much fun as we had with Cassidy's International Championship run,
I kind of miss funny Orange Cassidy, and he's really
toned back to the humor. I'm going to make the
zero our priority, and I typically don't because I miss
funny Orange Cassidy. I've been watching the Pack and Cassidy

(06:56):
match from like five years ago just to cope.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Well, yeah, I mean Orange Cassidy was, you know, sloth
the wrestling. He's really not done the sloth thing at all.
So that's really all all I can say about anybody else.
Somebody comments about the zero hour match, But do you
see do you see who's gonna win this match? Let's
just go ahead and say it.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
I think it's gonna be Cassidy, Big boom Aj, and
Mark Briscoe.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, and you want to know something, Mark Briscoe really needs,
uh needs a win.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
But but well, I'm really looking forward to is I
want to see how Orange Cassidy and how Big boom
Aj play off each other.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Well, I mean, you know, Big boom Aj, I get
the allura of having him involved in AW. He's a
social media presence, you know, he's kind of an ambassador
for Costco so I, and he has some professional wrestling training.
But I mean, at the same time, there's a part
of me and it's just like we could be doing
things that are a little more relevant, you know, for

(08:06):
everyone that always wants to pander and say, oh my God,
and you know, ring of honor things being done in
AW you know television that it would have been an
opportunity to maybe see Athena or you know, or maybe
you know, I almost said Anthony Henry Port guy is
out with the shoulder surgery at you know, the workhorse
the other side of the workhorsemen, or you know, something

(08:30):
a little more you know, relevant. I just it's clear
what we're getting for zero hour, it's very it's very clear.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Well, I will say this man Seor did do some
major scouting. I don't know if you saw the picture
that I posted at the AW found Hub subreddit, but
on on X Mansor did post a picture of him
doing some extra work for this match, and the picture
was a even I guess it was yesterday evening or something.

(09:00):
He went to Costco and stood outside Cotsco took a
picture to side with the middle figure up. So he
is prepared for this match. That's probably all the preparation
that he's going to need to do for this match,
because there's no way that that back seven Johnny TV.
How long has it been since Johnny TV has been
on the winning size of a match at aw or

(09:20):
Rigga Honor. I can't remember. So let's move on to
Let's move on to the actual show instead of spending
more time talking about the zero hour shame. What's the
first match we're gonna cover here.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
We got Okata and Brody King, and that's what we got.
I love the reaction to this. Yeah, we got Ocatta
and brody King. Like, I'm not, like entirely stoked on
this match. I wanted to see Okada actually doing things
and and we we know, like like Ocada and Brody King,

(09:58):
it's not good. We're not We're gonna see Okada retain.
We're probably gonna get a really good match out of
the two of them. But Okada's there with the prospect
of them unifying the continental and international championships. O kinda
ain't dropping the Brodie King ain't dropping that belt off
of Okada. It ain't happening. Give us something a little

(10:19):
more believable.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
Yeah, I mean this match was just added this afternoon. Uh, Shane,
I agree. Does anybody on the panel think that Brody
King is going to defeat Okada in this match?

Speaker 5 (10:33):
No, not no chance of that.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Does anybody but think that this is just going to
be a straight up match. I mean, I don't think
that there's any outside interference. I don't think there's gonna
be any story to it. I think it's just gonna
be a match and it's gonna be done with. It's
going to probably be a good match. Brody King always
puts on a good match. Surprisingly, he can wrestle anybody.
I have to hand that to Brody King. He could

(10:57):
wrestle against anybody.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah. And the only way you know that they're not
going to unify the titles is if if Brody wins.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Because we're pretty you.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Know, we'll talk about the other match later, but that's
what it looks.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Like they're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Do we have faith in them keeping unified titles together?
They've proven so far that they don't do that very well.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
So we'll see anybody else have any comments on this match.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Yeah, I dude, it's a bit speculative because unfortunately, I
think we've all seen that pick on Twitter of Buddy
rolling his ankle at Grand Slam. I think their real
intention was to build a bit more on this angle,
but I think Buddy's definitely out, So I think this
is kind of just the remnants of a story they
wanted but just got hurt by the plague that seems

(11:47):
to hit a w luckerom's behind every great pay per view.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Hey, match, has Rea Ripley been on w W lately,
like in the last three weeks?

Speaker 5 (11:58):
Yes, Yes, you lost Scott.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Because because because she and Buddy were apparently on their honeymoon.
So I guess hony moon's over and so it was
a championship that sucks. That's mine, no one. Yeah, we're
not going to talk about w W E on a
Revolution show. The next match to talk about UH is

(12:30):
going to be the Hurt Syndicate defending their World Tag
Team Championship against the Outrunners. I'm gonna say this, and
you guys can hate me all I want, all you want,
but I'm gonna say this, if this match lasts more
than two minutes, they've messed up.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Yo, no way that the Runners rule, man, I mean
like that that that I don't think that the Hurt
Syndicate is about to drop them title. But I mean
the Hour Runners are fantastic. I would like to see
them continue to develop their brand within the AW Banter.
There's a lot of room for growth in the tag

(13:11):
team division for AW and this is a very good
showing for them. I know they just put these belts
on the Hurt Sidicate, so it's improbable to think that
they're gonna popcorn the titles around. But if I were
to say I'd like to see belts on someone that's
not the Young Bucks, I'd put them on the out Runners. Man.
They're fun.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Well look, you know I will say this, there's nine matches,
not including the zero hour matches. We if this match
goes ten minutes, it's way too long. There's no way
the Outrunners should win this match. They're in my opinion,
there's no way the Outrunners should ever get another tag

(13:52):
team championship opportunity. And I've said it before and I
said an to get it on mean and I meant it.
If the Outrunners ever become tagged champions for more than
like a week or two. I'm done because I can't
take aw seriously anymore. And I mean it, and I
mean it. I'm done. I can the company to open something.

(14:14):
So they're they're they're fun outside the ring, they're awful
inside the ring. Now they can they can improve, but
they're awful inside the ring.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Well, then who's then who's dropping the tag team titles
off of the Hurt Syndicate.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
If you pay attention, they're looking they're creating more tag teams.
But that's that's for a discussion for another podcast. Uh.
They they really are building tag teams up. You got
Buddy Matthews and and uh Brody King. You've got the
Guns are back, which, of course, yeah, they just lost,

(14:52):
but that doesn't mean that they can't come back. You
got the Young Bucks.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I really do think that Jack Perry is gonna team
up with Lucasaurus again. I really do believe that that
there's others. There's definitely others that are that are around.
I mean, maybe Max Castro finally gets his head out
of his ass, or re teams with Anthony Bowens and
they come back more hungry than ever, you know whatever.
I mean, there's there's a lot of possibilities. Uh, who

(15:20):
does any Let me just put it to the panel.
Does anybody think that the hurt said they could have
any chance whatsoever of losing these belts.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
They're not going to lose the below, but it wouldn't
be It wouldn't be a thing if they did. The
only the only way they're going to lose the belts
this Sunday is if somebody, if one of them get hurt,
that would be the only way. But the out Riders
would not. The Outriders would not be a problem to
have the titles because the fans love the Outriders and
it's about what everybody else talks about.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
You got to.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Let me interrupt, you interrupt you something. Who would the
hell are the Outriders?

Speaker 3 (15:58):
They're a tag team in it, a w that everybody loves.
Everybody loves them.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Are they anything like the Are they anything like the Outrunners?

Speaker 4 (16:08):
That's what I said.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
No, you said the Outriders like five times.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Oh okay, I mean, I mean I didn't.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Know that I said that, But now you messing with
me anyway, I know, and I do that on purpose.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
No, you don't.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Seriously, the fans are behind them.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
They're they're they're they're a blast from the past.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
They're the comedy duo.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
If you would tell if you would team them up
with Orange Cassidy and you wanted to just have a
trios team that was full comedy, full on comedy, you
put the Outrunners and you put him together. You put
them with Orange Cassidy. They would not hurt the division
if they won the titles for a while, they wouldn't
hold him for long. But everybody, the major majority of

(16:55):
the fans are behind the Outrunners period.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
They are that They're just fun to watch.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
All right. Anybody else think the hurt sidy to drop
these titles on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Absolutely no, no, no, no, the hurt sydy gets going to
carry these titles for six months. They'll carry them into
all in.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Okay, that's that's a spicy prediction, Shane. You want to
go ahead and start the next match. And I think
I think this one, I think this one is one
that you said yesterday that you were looking too forward
to the most right.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yeah, I'm Jeff and Adam uh and Adam Hangman at
them Paige Man and and Uh, I guess sure that
this was probably the excuse me, I'm grabbing my mgf
uh scarf. This was probably the high highlighted dynamite for me.
Is it looked like they're actually starting to do things
with MJF that are a little more controversial other than
just having them come out there and talk crap. I mean, like,

(17:50):
I think this match is going to be fantastic. Either
way that you spin it, you're gonna get some good
story and continuity into the future of whoever is going
to be taking this belt off of MOX. Now. So
if it's an if, because I could from a yeah,
I could see either of them winning. It's probable that
either of them could win, and it gives relevance to

(18:11):
both of them. MJF wins, you know, he's headed towards
the title and he really is what he claims to be.
Adam Page wins, and he is really the final boss
of aw as everyone predicts. I mean, you're getting this
is a good match. It's it's gonna be fantastic, and
that these guys are going to absolutely slaughter each other,
which is gonna be great. Adam Page has a history

(18:32):
in pay per view matches of having Match of the
Year contenders, right MJF as well, So the putting these
two guys together is no brainer.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Peton, let me ask you this because of the way
I feel, and so I want to see if you
feel the same way. I really don't care who wins
this match. I just want to see this match.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
I agree with you completely. I don't care who wins
this match. I love both of these guys equally. Hearts
out And for those of you that have been listening
to these pods for the greater part of the year,
I'm an MJF Stan as well as at a page Stan.
I just honestly can't pick one for this gut for
this match. Whoever wins wins, and it's gonna be great.

(19:13):
It's gonna be fantastic.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
The greatest thing about this match is something that you
said is that it could go either way. This is
really of the rest of the matches on this card.
Most of them are unpredictable, and this is one of them.
I mean, there's no clear winner to this. This could
go either way, and to me, that makes it more entertaining.
I want to open it up to the crew here,

(19:36):
what are you guys thinking about this match? I?

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Like I said last night, this is a sweeper match
and it has so much potential, and the fact that
there's no storyline attached to it for the most part,
that makes it even better because that means they're gonna
go all out on this.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, anybody else have something to say about it? A
hangman out A Page and MJF.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
I think it'll be a great match, And I don't
know why, but something tells me they're going to end
up doing more than this match and working together down
the road. They just that that that they're chemistry is
pretty good. But they both kind of have the same
agenda and they both are way too much alike.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
You think, go ahead, go ahead, Shane, I I Suddon.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
I gotta got to expand on the statement, you know
alike in what sense? I mean, Like, both of these
guys have the potential to be the phase of a
w MJF last year when he was a babyface obviously
showcase that he has the potential to do everything in
professional wrestling at A. Page has been carrying the banter
of the final Boss of aw for five or six years,

(20:56):
man like, But expand on that, man, Well.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
It's like Adam Page's attitude is He's going to do
what ever the hell he wants to do. He's gonna
do it how he wants to do it. He's gonna
do what he wants to get where he wants to go.
Same with MJF. They both are after the same thing,
and they're both on the same trajectory. They both if
you if you had them in different companies, you'd be
comparing them to each other every day. You're right, they're

(21:25):
both have the potential to be the face of the company.
But I don't know why. It just seems like they're
pushing towards a.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
I don't know, an insane combination for a while.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Possibly they kind of would have the same effect in
going for the title as Cope and Switchblade, had they
have each other's back and do it out of mutual respect,
something like that.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
Hey, thank you the ones to go after the tag
titles too. I look at them. There's a light at
a darkness in both of them. Julia Hart on Dark
before it went off the air, did a vignette and
she said, good people do bad things and bad people
do good things, and that's can be said about Max

(22:14):
and Hangman at in Paige. They're not I don't look
at Max as a heel and I don't look at
hang Man at a page as a baby face one.
And I thought it was interesting the T shirt that
that MGF wore today was said MGF did nothing wrong,

(22:36):
which is a play on words for what is normally
said about Hangman Adam Paige. I really do think that
they're going to fight their way into a mutual respect,
if that makes any sense. And I think I said
this on the podcast about three or four weeks ago,
that I thought this was the way that this was

(22:56):
going to head and maybe maybe we're right on this.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Yes, it that way. It does just to to finish
on that. It won't be like when it was him
and Adam. It won't even be close to the same thing.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Does anybody have a definitive pick in this match? Oh?

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Yeah, that's me.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
It's hang Man.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
Who's that ded? Did you say he thought Hangman was
gonna win?

Speaker 6 (23:29):
It kind of needs to be Hangman, at least in
my opinion.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Why why does it need to be Hangman in your opinion?

Speaker 6 (23:37):
Well, the way I see their story is a bit
different here. They both are very much the heroes of
their own story. But Hangman is faltered while MJF is
obviously delusional, which creates a bit of a weird happenstance
when they actually try to interact in everything. But the
reality is Hangman is a guy who thinks he's a

(23:59):
good person who does bad things. MGF knows he's a
bad person that is capable of good. It's a very
y any kind of thing. But this story has to continue,
and the only way is for the definitive evil to triumph.
But the real evil is Hangman Page's anger, not mjf's
stuck up inness an ego. Yeah, that Hangman's fire burns

(24:21):
harder than mjf's pity rage.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
But well, I think, but what if they come together,
as Sutton and I had said earlier, and they offset
each other, they keep each other in check.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
That's what I'm thinking is the long built is going
to be them getting a weird alliance and less than humor.
It's going to be played for proper drama, and it'll
be the more serious version of bebe that we didn't
get with the Adam Cole thing, because Hangman as a
straight man is still freaking terrifying. But we all love
to laugh with coal.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that you brought up a very
good point who is capable of doing worse things U
and I And something that I agree with you on
is that an impassioned Hangman Adam Paige is going to
destroy the entire company if he chose that he wanted
to do it. But MJFF also has that power. Does
he realize it or not? Could be the thing that

(25:18):
comes into fruition from this match if he wins. You know,
I I would love to see m jaff win this one.
To be honest with you, I love Hangman at a page.
He's one of my favorite wrestlers in AW But I
mean an MJFF win here not only solidifies his his
his his his move his current movement, but it also

(25:39):
paves what Hey, there's always going to be stories available
for Hangman at a Page. Always, there's always going to
be stories MJFF. I think he needs this win more
than Hangman does.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
State. Would you be upset if this went to a
time limit draw?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yes, I'm sick of seeing those. I'm sick of seeing those.
I'm sick of seeing draws. I'm sick of sine. I
want to see clean wins. I want to see decid
it wins. I like for the whole entire pay per view,
not just for this match. I don't want to see
I don't I only want to see interruptions as needed, you.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Know I will. Well, No, I'm just gonna say, well,
the next match, I hate to say it, but I
think you're going to see interruptions.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Are you talking about Momo Mamo.

Speaker 1 (26:21):
Talking about I'm talking about Mercedes Monet and Mamo Watanabe
for the a WTBS Championship. And let me give you
an explanation why I think you're going to see something
in this match, because there is a crap load of
crap they could happen in this Uh. Mamo Watanabe. First
of all, she's in the hate faction in Stardom. Now,

(26:42):
Stardom is kind of famous for not really having a
heck of a lot of heels. Uh. They well, at
least not lifelong heels. They they flip flop back and forth. Uh.
There's a lot of matches in stardom where you don't
know who to root for, kind of like the MGF
and Hakman Adam Page match. You don't know who to

(27:04):
root for. You know, based on a heel and face.
She root for your favorite of the two. But Mamo
Atanabee is definitely heel. She's in a faction called Hate
that is one of the few factions in stardom that

(27:25):
are actually heels. Put it that way, now, how did
this match come about? Mamo Atanabe won the Women's International
Cup at Russell Dynasty to earn her shot at any
of the championships at either CMLL Bring of Honor, Stardom
or AEW. She chose to face Mercedes Monet for the

(27:49):
TBS Championship. How did she win that four way match
in the Women's International Cup at Russell Dynasty. She won
it by using her baseball bat to knock the snob
out of Athena, who has been backstage with Momo Watanabe

(28:09):
and Mercedes Monet. But Billy Starks a minion of Athena,
I don't see mamo Aatana be winning this match at all.
But what I do see is a very very strong
chance that Athena comes out and cost Momo Atana be

(28:31):
the win, and then we will finally see some kind
of movement going with Mercedes Monet and Athena leading to
a TBS Championship match at all. In between Athena and
Mercedes Monet, it's time to start building, and I think
what's going to happen is that the first it won't

(28:54):
be Athena against Mercedes Monet. Initially, It'll probably be Billy
Starks against Mercedes Monet. We may even have a tag
team with We're with Mercedes Monet and somebody else against
Billy Starks and Athena. I mean, there's all kinds of
things going on, but this match is going to be

(29:16):
something different. Now. The other thing that that can come
of this would be if Athena gets involved. Clark Conners
is doing kind of an excursion in aw his partner
is Tecla, who had to run in with Athena, so

(29:38):
this could get really convoluted. I would not at all
be surprised if next pay per view, which is double
or nothing, I believe right, I would not be surprised
if we saw Thecla at Mercedes Monette against Athena Billy
Starks at that pay per view. I'm calling that right now.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
You know. But anyway, go Bechla is fantastic. For anyone
that's watching wrestling outside of their preferred programming, you're missing out.
Thekla is the future of women's wrestling. She's a menace.
She's a fantastic wrestler, she's got a great mouthpiece. Everything
that she's doing in Japan is great. I love to
see her crossover and Athena would be a great prospect

(30:20):
for that as well, because you're talking about a woman
that should be the AW Women's World Champion. And I
will challenge anyone here to disagree with me. Athena is
one of the best women's wrestlers on the AW roster,
and she is one of She's one of the bigger
draws for a Ring of Honor. Now we have Juan

(30:41):
in our chat saying that Megan Bane is the future,
and yes, though I do agree Megan Baine is the
future if we're talking about women's tag teams, uh in aew,
I believe that Megan Baine is the future for women's
tag team titles. But if any individual wrestler on Tony
Khan's payroll deserves deserves entitled, I mean use the term titled, yeah,

(31:05):
like that would be Athena. Give her her day in
the sun. Please.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Yes. If I have to use one word to describe
Athena when she wrestles and even when she does backstage promos,
is that word would be infectious because this draws you in.
Everything she does is fantastic. She's fantastic on the mic,

(31:29):
she's fantastic in the ring. She's built for this.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Yeah, I mean even her days on AW Dark. I mean, like,
how much attention did she put on aw Dark with
her matches. People talked about how brutal she was back
then and how controversial it was. But it puts so
many eyes on the product, and she's one of the
main draws for Ring of Honor. Please, Tony Khan pump her.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I don't think you're right there. I don't think she's
one of the main draws at Rigavater. I think she
is the main draw Honor.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
There we go, Kelson, you.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Know, I hate to correct you there, but I had
to buddy anybody else think that Mobo Watanabe has a
chance in this match.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
I actually had a quick mention about the Athena Roh thing.
If that's all right, yeah, go for it. So at
the time, I was where they were running Final Battle
every year, and one year I went there. It was
the I believe it was a Mark Brisco Jay Brisco
tribute match. On that card, there were three people who

(32:31):
were so loud I could hear them from the far
into concessions. That was the main event, Samoa Joe and Athena.
No one else even got close.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
When you said they were so loud, you're talking about
them personally or the pop that they got.

Speaker 6 (32:47):
The popular got on entrances, Joe asked me, because everyone
was screaming from the fire it was so hot. But
as far as Athena is concerned, you could hear it
throughout the arena and without you know, the Blackpool combat
and no Samoa Joe. She really is the only person
on who was getting those amounts of pops. Like if
you're there in person.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
You know, with Athena, I don't know if anybody else
agree with me, will disagree with me or agree with
me is I think one of the things when she
came into aw her feud, Remember her initial feud was
with Jay Cargill, and j Cargill is what five foot ten,
five foot eleven and Athena is five foot period, So

(33:30):
I mean she was a much smaller woman that people
really didn't know that didn't watch you know WWE at
that time to see her as Eember Moon there and
she just didn't look right going against the who's this
new little person going against Jay Cargill. Basically, that's the

(33:51):
way a lot of people took it, because that's the
way a lot of people wrote about it in, you know,
on the aw fanub subreddit. I think it was ortun
i for Athena to have to go against Jay Cargill,
and she had gone against anybody else, I think that
she would have had a longer stay in a W
and maybe and not have gone the Ring of Honor

(34:11):
at all. But hey, maybe the Ring of Honor thing
was the best thing for her because she's certainly thrived
and she's certainly shining. Anybody else have a comment to
make about this match before Shane takes us to the
next match?

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Yeah, well, I love how this transformed from a conversation
about we didn't even talk about Mercedes Mane. We talked
about Momo and Athena, but let's talk about let's talk
about go ahead, let's talk about Swerp, Strickling and Ricochet,
because that was certainly a focal point of Dynamite this evening.
They revisited Swarp, Strickland, and Ricochet three times on Dynamite

(34:50):
this evening, and it seems to be a bigger draw
for the pay per view. Now, for those of you
that are not hip, this is not the first time
these guys have done this round about before. One of
the bigger Lucia Underground draws was kill Shot and King
Puma or Prince Puma rather, which was Ricochet and Swerve

(35:10):
back Shane Strickland Swerve back then, I think these guys
are gonna burn the goddamn barn down. I would, personally,
as much as I love Swerve, would love to see
Ricochet go over here because it would be fun and
it would it would give it would give some beef
to Ricochet in ae W and make him look like

(35:31):
more of a contender and less like a bitch.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Yeah, well, Shane, let me ask you this because for me,
this is kind of the kind of same match as
MGF against Hangman on a page. I really don't care
who wins this match. I just want to see the match.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Oh yeah, the match is going to be a banger
for those of for those fans that are into the
aw style of wrestling, you're certainly going to get plenty
of that from this, and and Ricochet is going to
go off. These guys have some real life chemistry. For
if you haven't seen them wrestle before. You guys are
in for a banger. I don't care who wins. I

(36:09):
hope it's Ricochet. I love Swarve Strickland, I love him,
but I hope it's Ricochet.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
I think we're I think Swerve needs to win more
than Ricochet does. Why because I well, because Swerve needs
to get that embassy jacket back and or an embassy
robe back, and uh, he needs to get on a
on a winning streak. He's not one very much lately.

(36:36):
When you really look at it, you know he really hasn't.
And uh, if Ricochet loses, I think he's proven himself
he could be the next person to go into the
Hurt Syndicate. I don't know Ricochet neither, because you're just
remember what he did try to get into the Hurt Syndicate. Initially,

(36:58):
they turned him down and MV twop turned him down
basically saying you're not mean enough. Why. I think he
is proven that he's mean enough now and that he's
that he's very capable and willing to hurt people.

Speaker 6 (37:14):
Yeah, I think this is going to be Swerves to win,
because ironically enough, I think Ricochet will bounce back from
it pretty easily because he's got a few directions he
can go anyways. And what does he lose being a
complete snibbling heel by taking the loss here, he loses
very much nothing because it's all based around his character work.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Speaking about character work and Ricochet, I mean, like, how
has he improved since he's joined the aw roster. One
of the biggest criticisms of Ricochet throughout his entire career,
the tenure of his career, it was his lack of
ability to cut promos, and now he's out there like
a savage cutting them hardcore. Ricochet looks fantastic.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Absolutely, any sound fantastic? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
I saw a sort in on mute and I'm waiting
for I'm like.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
So, here's what it comes down to for me. They
put the number one contendership on the line in this match.
Unless Cope wins Sunday, you're feeding one of these two
to Moxley.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
And as we've discussed.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
For months now, it's going to be somebody like Darby
or you know, one of the other people. These two
have not even come into that conversation about who's going
to unsee Moxley. I think Ricochet wins. I don't think
he wins it clean. I think he wins because I
don't see Swerve getting another shot at a title without

(38:46):
seriously getting a chance to win it. And if they
put him up against mox and it's not part of
the plan, whoever they get, whoever gets this title shot
is going to be fed to Moxley, and that's just
not going to be good for Swerve.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
I do have an opinion about that, but I want
to share my opinion about what you just said. Something
when we talk about the box leyan Adam Copland mass,
is that fair enough cure?

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Brother, I mean to me, it comes down to.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
I think Swarre is gonna lose because I think once
says something in the in the chat about it doesn't
hurt his standalone nobility if he loses a match Ricochet.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
I like Ricochet and I like what he's doing, but
I don't think he's ready for the world title yet.

Speaker 1 (39:30):
Cool right, And I agree with you there, I really do.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
Yeah, but that might be the point. I mean, I mean,
like uh Thworth doesn't ever need to win because he's
going to be over with the aw audience. One like
one hundred percent of the time. He's another one of
those guys. I don't like the idea of feeding someone
to Mox. I mean, like, in a perfect world, I'd
like to see Cope drop this belt off of box
at this pay per view because it would put a

(39:57):
screeching halt to the death Rider's story that needs a
little and then then needs a little TLC, you know,
like and they kind of they kind of did some
expansion on that today on Dynamite, Mox went in the
back and you know, finally got me by myself, right
like I.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Love you, I love your boxing, the impressions and your
persons of everybody, because they're they all sound like, uh,
it's like Marlon Branda with marbles in their in their.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Mouth, irand no, I just I I want a convincing
title match. I don't want to think at the end
of a pay per view that I'm spending fifty dollars
on that you know that that that that we're gonna
get exactly what I think, and then the guys that
are going for the belt don't stand a chance like

(40:46):
like it would be I would believe that sports Stricklan
would take that belt up of Mox I don't want
to believe in feeding people to mox because I don't
think Max is the end all be al for aw
I'd put that, I'd put MJF for Kenny Omega or
you know a bitch.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
I totally agree.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
I totally agree with you.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
But the problem is right now, as we've talked about
for the whole time that death rathers have been a thing,
that these guys are not the ones that were mentioned
in any of the wins to beat.

Speaker 4 (41:19):
Moxley for the title. You know, I would have loved
to say.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
I'm not saying he's going to win on Sunday, but
what I'm saying is if you have, if he wins Sunday,
to me, would feel like one of these two is
getting fed to him because it's not how they and
we all know how Tony Kahn is.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
He gets something in his head and he does not
deviate from that.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Yeah, so let's talk about Boxley that Yeah, yeah, we're
getting We're getting off topic here. To get back on topic,
let's talk about the next match in a steel cage
Kyle Fletcher and will Aspin Shane. Again, this is yet
another match and I can't say it is predictable at

(42:05):
another match that I really don't care who wins. I
just want to see the match. What is going on
with revolution in me? I just want to see these matches.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
I'll tell you. But this match it's going to go
to a draw because Eddie Kingston is coming back to
knock off his.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait a minute,
wait a minute. Remember they're going to be inside a
steel cage. So the only way that Eddie Kingston can
knock anybody off of anybody's pedestal is by him climbing
up the steel cage and into the steel cage.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
You could come through the mat he's telling you.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
I'm telling you right now. Uh, that's that's not gonna happen.
And by the way, by the way, I've got to
say it. You know what I'm gonna say. I love
Eddie Kingston.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Yeah, I can't believe you invoked the name of Eddie
Kingston chain.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
What were you thinking?

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Oh my god, I was thinking that I miss so
much that I'd love to see him around.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
That was a sick move.

Speaker 2 (43:14):
Now that this match is good, Kelson bro this is
another It's like almost every other than the outrunners and
hurt Syndicate. This is like every match on this card
is like doesn't matter who wins, It's gonna be cool,
Like like we're gonna get a banger match.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
Totally agree. Totally agree. Yeah, Flesh and Hurt Syndicket and
and Okada. I mean those two matches they're predictable. Everything
else is just speed. Just feed me, take my money
and feed me.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
Yeah. I mean it means we have good We'll have
plenty of good wrestling to talk about next Tuesday. I
got my money on Ospire though. I mean, like Osprey
is on a losing streak right now, and he's been
like murdering and looking fantastic, and I just I think
that like Fletcher needs to get knocked on a peg
and have that crown taken off of his head, and

(44:04):
Don Kallas needs a wake up call, and this could
be uh step they would have there. They're Ospray is
gonna win this match because they need to start building
all in and Forbidden Door. I'm just gonna say a
plane because United Empire is a prospect for for Forbidden
Door and Osprey is a World Championship contender as well.
So I mean, like I'd like it, I don't think

(44:26):
Fletch is there yet, and I think he's going to
carry a mid card title. I think he might take
the Continental or the Inner Continental or the t the
TNT off of Garcia, but I think's got this one.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
Does anybody else have a definitive winner in this match?

Speaker 2 (44:43):
It's the rubber match, right, rubber match?

Speaker 1 (44:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (44:47):
Okay, Ospray's winning it. I don't see Fletcher getting the
win over him. I think this is going to be
a bad pay per view for the Don Kallis family,
and I think this will be the one that Will.
I think this will hurt him the worst because he's
putting so much of his energy into flet You're being
the proto star, and I think that Oustbury's gonna take

(45:09):
him out, especially since he got the crap kicked out
of him on Dynamite tonight.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
Okay, what about you do? I know you're gonna say something.

Speaker 6 (45:19):
Oh, I was saying I'm one hundred percent behind Kyle,
and it's not because of the story. It's because Will
really wants to kind of put him over. I think
this being the rubber match, it should go to Kyle,
and it makes the most sense to do that because
Kyle is the younger, stronger guy right now, in the
long term booking, why not continue to build him as

(45:40):
this scary, freaking nature that he's already pretty much doing
at this point. I wouldn't let Kyle babysit my dogs,
let alone come into my house. Keep selling that, please.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
Fair enough.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
I love that idea. But what about the prospect of
United Empire invading AW. I mean like there's like there's.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
A we already we already saw the seat, We already
saw the seat of doubt and Mark Davis.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Tonight, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mark Davis is obviously you know,
they're playing that. He's getting played angle. So there's a
lot of room for you know, extra you know, I
don't say curriculars. This is where my head is at today, guys. Uh,
you know, there's a lot of room for growth in
the storytelling. But I think Osprey is going over.

Speaker 6 (46:30):
True. But as you mentioned, with Eddie Kingston possibly coming down,
and at this point, my money's on a potato canon
because Eddie's not climbing that cage, but Mark Davis would
be happy to climb that cage, and I'm certain that
that would be drama, just him inserting himself into the
match while being as complicted.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
As he is.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Nice. Yeah, well we'll get a We'll get a great
outcome regardless of who wins.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
Yeah, just another one of those matches. Speaking of another
one of those matches, sh.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Go Takesha Omega bro like, Takesha is one of the
greatest professional wrestlers on Earth right now, I'm saying it
plain his day. Guy's a worker and uh they have
to again, they have to build forbidden door. And uh
with Takesha recently being signed to UH a dual deal

(47:22):
with New Japan, you know, like him retaining it is
completely a thing. And I know that Kelson, you said
this is going to be a bad night for the
don Kallis family, as it should be because boo, don callous.
You know that was me, that dude, Oh.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
That was you.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
I apologize, it was me. I love you. Sudden my bad.
It's where again.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
Anymore?

Speaker 4 (47:47):
You already getting upset because they against the men.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
I mean, come on, he's only going to be upset
that he doesn't show up.

Speaker 1 (47:53):
I mean, but he stayed by saying it was a
parte potato cannon. So no, I just can't wait for
this podcast to be over because gonna go eat some potatoes.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
You know, uh do I I the like. Let let's
talk about the reality of this match. There's a lot
of speculation that they're going to be unifying the two
intercontinental titles. I'm saying intercontinental. I'm saying it. I don't care.
I'm you yeah, doing it. There are two intercontinental international
in the Continental Classic that I think they're gonna put

(48:26):
a both on Kenny and unify him. I think that's
gonna happen, But honestly did it'd be cool to see
the Kesha go over and then carry that belt in
foreign promotions and defendant in foreign promotions, you know, I
love that, Uh, But I don't think it's happening. I
think Kenny's gonna win. Kenny needs to win. Kenny hasn't
been around, Kenny's been injured, sick, diverticulitis, and he's out

(48:47):
there putting the work in. I think Kenny's gonna get
this win. You know.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
Kenny Omega is the Johnson to make a wish could
feel good story, you know, So, yeah, you gotta put
the belt on on Kenny. Although this is just another
one of those matches. I just want to see the
match man, I just want to see this match. You
know it's gonna kick we I mean, I'll make a prediction.

(49:14):
Since I've not made a prediction about winners of the
matches on some of these matches, I'm just gonna make
a prediction. Come the end though, Sunday night, we're gonna
be freaking exhausted.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
Yeah that's right, and I'm we're gonna come back and
be eating or you know, eating our words from this pod.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
We haven't really said anything I'll landish on this pod.
I mean literally, I mean this is just one of
the I mean, dde, do you have a definitive pick
on this match?

Speaker 6 (49:53):
I'm a bit split, but I have all of the
biased to catch it. Is possibly my favorite wrestler right now.
He's been for a while and he keeps moving the
bar up. It's really unfair to me as somebody who
wants to mark out for Kenny. I think I want
to cash to keep it. And with this dual thing,

(50:13):
the biggest drop ball was they started having Pack go
to everywhere and defend the international title to cash. It
is the dude to do that. I don't know if
you guys have seen him defending the belt in other places.
It's all been really good stuff and it gets eyes
and ears on stuff that you.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
Talked about it last night. As a matter of fact,
Oh for sure.

Speaker 6 (50:34):
Oh yeah, I normally wouldn't watch those promotions, but takesh
it is showing up and fighting their top champ. Yes,
modern day Rick Flair, please, modern day Rick Flair.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
But the thing about it is Ken you can do
the same thing. He has this bigger reputation, has this
bigger reputation, and he's had that reputation for a lot
longer so and he wouldn't be that big a.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
Deal put over new talent man like Takesha's arguably like
the one of the next biggest things. Leave the belt
on him. I mean, like that that could be cool.
And d I have to expand on what you said,
because we did discuss this last night. I mean like
they did a lot with pock defending the International Championship

(51:23):
overseas and it brought Kip Savian back in the fold
and it was it was engaging, and it it put
new eyes on the product and other products. I mean, like,
there's nothing wrong with either of these guys, uh taking
this title. There's nothing wrong with it because it's gonna
be great.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
Well.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
The other thing that taking the international title, or getting
Kenny with the title is that could then for another
entry into the crazy, unbelievably wild World Championship match that
gives contenders, that gives takesha an open.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
Book does right, Yeah, I mean I beat the I
beat the greatest wrestler on Earth three times. That makes
him the greatest wrestler on Earth.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
But but listen, you can't say that.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
Because he's been caught off like three times.

Speaker 6 (52:17):
Yeah, over talking, guys, when you get on a thing.
My biggest worry is because I know a bit more
about diverticulitis, and we've seen people who have fully recovered
take one bad shot and they're just done for several months.
My only worry is if Kenny has truly fully healed

(52:38):
from it. I'm not sure that t K would take
the risk of trying to do that with Kenny only
for it to be just shuttered within a couple of
months because Kane needs to go to the er for
a little while.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
That's a good point.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
I mean that that's Kenny's choice. Like that's a thing,
like like Kenny is one of the few guys in
aw roster that is calling his own shots. I mean
he's like, like, that's Kenny's choice, and he's worked through injury.
This is a guy. This is a guy that required
spinal fusion. This is a guy that like every single

(53:13):
part of his body was broken and continued to carry
six belts and wrestle in TNA on his off days.
Like like this guy, you know, like like it it's
hard to believe that they're not gonna put this belt
on Kenny. Yeah, but like it's uh, I don't think
that diverticulitis is currently affected for Kenny Omega, because even

(53:34):
if he is in pain, I think he's going to
choose to go out there and perform.

Speaker 1 (53:40):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
We almost have to kill him, literally almost have to
kill him keep him out of the ring.

Speaker 6 (53:47):
Yeah, that's my worry.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
Uh. The universe, Well, that's the scary thing is that
universe will kill him. He's one of those guys he's
gonna like unfortunately, Like I love Kenny Omega, He's one
of my favorite, He's he's top he's top two for me.
But unfortunately, like time waits for no one, right, you know,
time airs for no person, and Kenny's body has been

(54:10):
working against him for the past three to four, three
to three to eight years, and he's been working through
crazy injuries. This is his last run. This could be
his last run, so you know, I you knows. And
putting him in the ring with Ta Castro means he's
going to be protected one way or the other, like like,
it doesn't matter who goes over here, It doesn't it's

(54:33):
gonna be great. But I think about what is going
on Kenny.

Speaker 1 (54:37):
Well you well, Shane, you alluded to. Kenny'll be in
the top two. Number one obviously is who for me?

Speaker 2 (54:47):
Yeah, McK foley.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
McK foley, Okay, I would not have expected. I'm not arguing,
and I just would not have expected to say that.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
Yeah, McK foley for me, Like, well, the thing I've
I've met Nick Foley and and I've read his book
and just.

Speaker 1 (55:02):
He's just that was a great book, by the way,
Yeah that was like, oh man, that was funny.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
Yeah, Like Mick Foley, if you've taken out of wrestling,
he would still be a compelling read. And he's a
fantastic professional wrestler, and he lives and breathes professional wrestling,
and he's not married anything, and he's all about the business.
I love mcfoley, I love him. He's my number one.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
Fair enough, Well, look, let's move on to no disqualification,
false count anywhere, and you can only win the match
by pinfall or submission for the aw Women's World Championship.
Mariah May and timeless Tony Storms Hollywood ending again. I

(55:51):
can't be upset if either of these women walk away
with the belt. I really can't. Uh, this is a
rubber match, and and well, I kind of gotta go
with Tony Storm on this one. But if there was
any matches in here that we can see outside interference,
maybe Mina Srikala gets involved in this one some way, somehow,

(56:15):
But who would she side with? I don't know. I
mean that my prediction, though I do have a definitive prediction.
I do think that Tony Storm is going to win
this match, but for some reason, I don't think it's
gonna be clean, nor should it be, because it's a
false count anywhere match. They've already said. I believe Tony
Storm said that she's gonna drag Mariah May throughout the arena,

(56:37):
and I fully expect that to happen. There will probably
be blood let's put it that way, or at the
very least tomato juice from a concession stand.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
Maybe we'll get Luther too.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
One can only hope.

Speaker 2 (56:55):
Oh yeah, man, this match again, just to mirror you,
to reiterate, this is a card of doesn't matter who
wins other than you know, a couple of matches. I
believe that this has been said very many times on
this podcast, and I hope that people will expand on

(57:15):
this statement after I make it. But Tony Storm is
probably one of the more intriguing and interesting things that's
happening in all of professional wrestling, not just women's wrestling,
not just AW, not just WWE. But she has a
very compelling character. She has a very well thought out character.
She's acting on very well. And honestly, if you are
not hip to Mariah May from Stardom, Mariah May is

(57:38):
a rock star and she's a a plus professional wrestler,
and this match is going to be a banger. But
I see Tony going over here. They're going to keep
this belt on Tony. It looks great on her, It
looks great for the women's division to have it on her.
It makes the belt relevant. Like Tony holding this belt
makes the Women's Championship the most interesting sting championship in

(58:01):
all of aw There I said it out loud.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
You know, I'm gonna tell you something. If if Tony
Storm does win this, that does win this match like
I think she will, I would not be at all
surprised to see Mariah May challenge pretty for like the
Strong Women's Championship or even the id iw GP Women's Championship,
because she's that good. And I think, do you have

(58:27):
to take whatever happens in this match. I think you've
got to put a little bit of a break on
Mariah and Tony from this point because you just can't
keep doing the same thing. You know, they got to
put them separate. They can always come back to it,
you know. I don't think that this should go any
further immediately after this match, Well.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
What if Mariah went? What if Maria ma wins? Though?
Like that puts every woman in the every woman in
the locker room. I notice that means that means Tony
Storm is infallible. Well, I mean I mean that it
means that it's gonna mirile May winning this match could
be the best possible outcome only because it's going to

(59:10):
create a landscape for the women's division that is completely unpredictable.
Anyone could come after this title, but again, I don't
see them lifting it off at Tony right.

Speaker 6 (59:24):
I have a kind of a theory about that. I'm
worried that the Tony thing was mostly for the hometown
pop and also so she could carry that belt around
while she was filming Queen of the Ring. I'm betting
that they saw the free promotion in k k Win
Heck yeah. But really, this is one where I don't
have a definitive pick. All I want is for the
match to be falls count anywhere. The way it needs

(59:46):
to end is getting pinned on the stage under that
spotlight that Tony's been using. That would be Catharsis, Oh my,
let's go.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
My biggest worry with this is either one of them,
where do they go from there? Because, like you said, Shane,
this has been the best story, best character anywhere in wrestling,
no matter men, female, doesn't matter, New Japan, CMNL, WWE,
a W It's the best. But if it reaches its

(01:00:19):
natural conclusion, it just kind of scares me.

Speaker 6 (01:00:22):
That they won't they won't follow up on it, you
know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
It'll it'll be the end of it, and then what's next.

Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Well, I can tell you what's next. If Tony Storm
wins this, Mariah May and Miniature at Kower Reform Rose
Gold and go after toda w Women's World Tag Team
Championships together with with Tony Storm with the belt, then
you have right around the corner, you have double or nothing,
and you have uh, of course all in and she

(01:00:53):
has already challenged, had already been challenged by Mayui Watani,
the i WGB Women's Champion. So I think you could
have a belt for belt going on there or just whatever.
So there are challengers, challenges out there for for them.

Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Well, god damn it, how how good did Mariah May
look not this week, but last week during their spot
on Dynamite Dynamite? How compelling and convincing did Mariah May
look as an antagonist to Tony Storm. I mean, like, uh,
these are two arguably of the best women's wrestlers on

(01:01:35):
the on the entire platform right now. And the fact
they they're in a program together, we're spoiled. We're like
one hundred percent spoiled, you know, agree, Yeah, And honestly,
you know, I digress this is like a who doesn't
matter who wins, right, but like you know, it's also
like a it's obvious who's probably going to win. But

(01:01:55):
like I mean, like either way, you know, it's gonna
send rip through the women's locker room whoever's carrying this
belt after this match, and this match is gonna be
a banger. They're gonna kill each other. It's gonna be fantastic.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Yeah, you know what you had mentioned that where do
you go from here? I think after this match they're
gonna need about two or three weeks off each just
to recuperate from this match, so that time.

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Oh, I agree with that. But what what I kind
of find I think would be an interesting thing to
have happened would be those two two get back together
as a team for a while.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
That could that's a very good possibility. I mean, you
never know what happens in the world of professional wrestling.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
And if you if you paid real close attention to
the way they were talking tonight, it was kind of
funny because that's where I got That's where.

Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
It kind of came to me that I could see
that happening. I really could.

Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
Yeah, you kind of tell that they have some mutual
respect and love for each other, you know, as far
as their characters go, Well, Shane, you want to bring
us home.

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Bring us home, I'm gonna be that guy. It doesn't
feel like bringing us home, because honestly, this is uh.
It's said that the headliner for this event is probably
the match I'm the least excited for Cope versus Mox,
you know, to be honest with you, I could care

(01:03:25):
less who wins. I would like to see. This is
coming out of my mouth. So for anyone that wants
to grill me next week and like go through the
old pods and all the crap I talked about Darby Allen.
You know, I believe this could be a device to
bring Darby back and this match, and I think that
would be more interesting than the match itself. And I
hope Cope goes over because you know, the Death Riders thing,

(01:03:50):
you know, for the people are bitching about the Death
Riders thing for the wrong reason. It's stagnating because it's
a story that's already been told and they haven't done
anything to expand on it. They're kind of just you know,
especially and they showed it tonight with how you'd have
walked out on Locks. It's it's predictable, you know, Cope

(01:04:11):
goes over, Darby comes back.

Speaker 6 (01:04:13):
Cool.

Speaker 1 (01:04:15):
I don't think Darby's gonna come back, though. I hate
to be a disappointment to you there, buddy. I think
I think there's next to a zero chances in fact
that Darby's coming back because streating to it makes no
sense for him to come back and then go climb
Mount Everson missed a couple months anyway, so it would
probably be more like September before Darby comes back.

Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
Yeah, he's too busy up on Everest right now.

Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
You don't want Shane. I gotta be honest with you.
When you said that you thought that this match, uh
was probably the match you were looking forward to the least. Uh,
I have to disagree with you. I'm looking forward to
this match slightly more because it's a little bit more
in doubt. The match I'm looking forward to the least

(01:05:02):
is Hurt Sindekt and the Outrunners, because that's an obvious
win for the Hurt Syndicate. There's in my mind, there's
no way the Outrunners could possibly win this match. That
is the ultimate filler match for me. Uh, This match
is second worst on the card. To be honest with
you and Sutton, when we were talking earlier about the

(01:05:25):
Swerve Strickland and Ricochet match, you brought up some things
and I said, well, we'll talk about that when we
get to the main event match, which is Moxley and Copeland. Right.
I do believe that Swerve Strickland probably is going to
win this match uh against Ricochet uh and get the

(01:05:48):
World Championship shot. I don't believe that Moxley or Copeland
walk out of Revolution as AW World champion. I think
Christian Cage is joy to work, is gonna work, is
going to walk out as ed swear Strickland will win
the AW World Championship off of Christian Cage.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
Well, that would just be fun.

Speaker 3 (01:06:12):
And I see I see Christian coming out, but I
don't think he's gonna win because this is gonna be
where kill Switch returns and costs him the match. I think,
I honestly think that they're gonna take the title off
a Marx. I don't believe they would have wiped out
the entire crew except for you to if they didn't
have intentions of there being a chance for Cope to win.

(01:06:35):
I think, uh, Christian comes down. I think he turns.
In the title shot, he looks like he's gonna win.
Kill Switch comes out, makes it look like he's gonna
help Christian, and he beats He power slams Christian and
puts Max or puts a coke. That's now that matters ends.

Speaker 1 (01:06:55):
I thought so too, But I think that's too predictable.
I think I think Lucasaurus, if he does come out,
will help Christian once again. Look, here's the thing. One
of the things you just said. The death Writers, in
my opinion, are over done with gone. The Blackpool Combat
Club are over done with gone. They should never If

(01:07:21):
if Adam Copland walks out or anybody but John Moxley
walks out of Revolution with the World title belt or
the World title briefcases, the case may be, the Blackpool
Combat Club and the Death Writers should go bye bye.
They should not be a thing anymore. Because the Death

(01:07:41):
Right the Black Hoool Combat Club haven't been around since August.
The Death Writers have started on August twenty fifth, basically,
and at all in, and uh, I mean, I'm sorry,
not all in. They started in September, early September. At
all out. I'm sorry that's correct where they started. Uh,

(01:08:04):
And I just don't see it now. The other thing
that could happen is a clean shaven whe were you
that comes out and cost John Moxley to match, you know,
and and and maybe in that case the prevented from
being convoluted Christian not Christian, but uh, Adam Copland walks around,

(01:08:25):
walks out of revolution with the belt, you know. Uh,
And that maybe down the line we see Christian cash
in that. Because Christian has been walking around with that
stupid briefcase for how many of mon? Why did he
win it?

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
I mean a year ago?

Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
Dude, Yeah, it's it's preposterous.

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
I just don't see I don't see the fans being
behind a Christian case title run.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
I don't think it's gonna last more than a couple
of weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
If he does the title run, it pisses people off
and puts eyes on the product exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:09:03):
Well, here's the thing about the death Writers.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Everybody cracks and is bitching and complaining about the death writers.
But here's the thing you're talking about the death writers.
You can hate on them all you want, you don't
have to agree what's going on. And you don't have to.

Speaker 4 (01:09:17):
Like it, but you talk about it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
And that's the point.

Speaker 1 (01:09:21):
I disagree with you. They're talking about it, but they're
talking about it negatively. Nobody that says things about the
death Writers negatively wants to see the death Writers. And
I'll say that is a fact.

Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
But what's still saying, uh, good press, negative press, doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
It's press well people because of the death Writers.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
If you don't, I mean, you can disagree, and it's
my opinion. But people in the stands when they're there,
they cheer form, they boo them, people are still watching
because it doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
Well, the stands have three thousand people on it, and
on TV you have a million people watching it, you know,
between Max and TBS and TNT. My point is is
that if you look at and I'm one of those people,
the death Writers, how many times have I said it?
I hope that Death Writers been made events so I

(01:10:21):
can go to betterly Seriously, that's people literally change the
channels when the Death Writers are on. They have no
opinion about it because they're board stiff and they don't
want to see them. That's bad press in this case
is not good press people. I mean, I really do
believe that John Moxley is going to lose this belt

(01:10:42):
because they've got to do an entirely different thing with
Moxley and everybody else was in the Blackpool Combat Club
and death Writers because it's it's killed the product. The
product is weak with because of them, and they couldn't
just end it. This is the ending that they needed.
Adam Copland. Is Adam Copeland or somebody other than John

(01:11:05):
Moxley has to walk out of Revolution with this belt
of John Boxley walks out of Revolution with this belt
it It just doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
But I mean, why would they take the belt off
of him before all in? I mean, they have to
build the all in card and I don't think that there.
I don't mox is whether you like the story, whether
you like the angle or not, mox is still a
convincing champion.

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
Moxley is a good champion, but he's invested in this story, okay,
And because of this story, even though he's now what
today is tonight is Wednesday when we're recording this, All
the Revolution pay per view is less begins less than

(01:11:57):
four days from now. Moxley is on an island, right
He needs to lose the title. If he wins the title,
he should come back like the next time he comes
like if he wins the Let me put it this way,
if he wins this title on at Revolution, if he
retains the title at Revolution on Dynamite on Wednesday, when

(01:12:20):
he comes out to gloat, he comes out the wild
thing that none of us Death Riders bullshit. The Death
Writers are dead. The Black are dead.

Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
Here's the thing about being with Claudio and the others
laid out with the Concerto.

Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
They don't bring people back from concerto in two weeks.
People can usually get hit with.

Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
Concerto, don't come back for a while, right, So if
he come if he does retain the title, he may
be on his own from now until all the end.

Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
I said what sha he said is absolutely correct. John
Moxley and all In would be a very good champion
or championship contender to have for all In. But if
he goes to all In as the head of the
Death Writers, still that's a monumental mistake, in my opinion, monumental.

(01:13:26):
They just can't do that. They can't do that to
the fans. The fans don't want to see the Death Writers.
It's a failed experiment. It literally did not work. He got.
I mean, Tony Kahn at some point has got that.
I really do believe he's doing it right now. The
way he's setting this up, he's he's gonna give fans
service here because the Death Writers their failure. The Death

(01:13:49):
Writers are an absolute uninteresting failure. It's something that has
been done before, and it's been done better before.

Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
Oh it's been done way better that the Death Riders thing.
As much as I I see what, I don't want
to see any joyed because I'm so sick of it.
But it's been that that that that they're not taking
any liberties with story. They're not really ripping the bandit
off and doing anything crazy. And I just had this
conversation earlier today. I mean, if you were going to

(01:14:18):
do something like like the Death Riders, man, you got
to go after everybody and you got to make your
faction look infallible, and recently that's not the case. Like
like I mean, Dynamite today, go ahead, chit. I'm sorry, no, no, no,
I mean I'll say this and then pass the buck.
But like even tonight on Dynamite Man, you made your bitch,

(01:14:41):
you made your JD McDonagh, you're JD. McDonald's like, Uh,
the wheeler you'd to today like look bigger than the
world champion on a Wednesday show broke them on. The
Death Riders needs to either like up their game and
start killing people or move on from the story and
put the belt on someone else.

Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
It's too late for them to start killing people, because
they started off killing people in early October. They were
you know, there was a joke. There was like a
tempted murderer in a w every week for like three
or four weeks, and then all of a sudden, they
just started being pansies. You know. They'd attack people from behind,

(01:15:21):
when another person came out, they'd leave. Yeah, what's the
difference between what's the difference between Max Caster and the
Death Writers? Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:15:30):
Nothing one of them has a belt there you go, yeah, no,
how about the rap career.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
No one of them has a briefcase. Three of them
have a belt. Three of them have a belt. One
of them has a briefcase.

Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
I keep saying, man, it's Paul Fiction. Man, it's Marcellus
Wallace's soul on the inside of that briefcase. They're going
to pop it, and the belt isn't going to be there,
and it's like, hey, I'm the champion now, but where's
the belt you get out of here?

Speaker 6 (01:16:00):
Yeah, I've got a theory for it. So I see
the potential where the long term booking storytelling makes sense
because at this point Max Is attempted to take a
vacation and then had to come back I think three
separate times, and basically him trying to make you sick
of the death writers is to make you sick of

(01:16:21):
him so he can take a break. I think Cope
is going to take it. At the pay per view,
Christian comes out but doesn't cash in and taunts Cope
because the whole point is he loves the control, but
he doesn't really want to give it up. So he's
going to basically use that to hostage the all in
main event, and we're gonna have stuff building towards that.
With so many hungry contenders, we're gonna get a tournament baby,

(01:16:45):
and then the all in main event can be something
that makes sense and it'll be putting over somebody who's
an aw original there for the long term to be
a big crowning achievement.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
I think that's a good point. Wait, where did d
come from. I love this guy. I was talking about
where are the tournaments? I talked about it last night
on the pod. Where are the tournaments? Tony Kahn's whole
entire kink used to be like tournament for everything. We
haven't had a good one for a while.

Speaker 3 (01:17:12):
The problem is they haven't really had a great tournament
in ae W. They do them, but they don't necessarily
do They don't do them well.

Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
The Continental, bro that's the only one, and and even then.

Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
But but the problem with the Continental is even that tournament,
the very first one was totally predictable from day one,
and then once you got to the last couple of
days of the of this year's or last year's, everybody
knew what was gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
Yeah. Well, my problem so with the Continental is the
first one was awful because we do from day one
that Eddie Kingston was going to win it. Anybody was
going to win it is a moron. I'm serious. I
mean everybody this podcast was like, Eddie's gonna win it.
We even predicted losing the first match, you know, I

(01:18:06):
mean we knew he was gonna winner from the get go.

Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
So it was.

Speaker 1 (01:18:08):
Stupid to even have it. This past one was a
better tournament because it was a doubt on who was
gonna win it. The thing that made it weak was
that they had belt our title holders in the tournament
and then put the TNT title on hold. Who else
was had a title in this tournament?

Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
Actually that was the only one I believe, Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
But anyway, I play it even then, and not only
put the TNT title on hold, to put some of
the better contenders for the TNT title on hold as well.
So yeah, that's where that got weak. They definitely need
to not put title holders in the C twos.

Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
So when do they do the Owen Hart Tournament.

Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
I want to say, that's like in October.

Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
Is it that late in the year. I thought it
was before that.

Speaker 1 (01:18:58):
I was thinking it was then. Yeah, maybe maybe you're right.
I think maybe September to.

Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
To to go on these go off these idea.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
If you're going to do that and you're going to
have a tournament for it, make it the Owen Give
because they did it with the women's last year.

Speaker 4 (01:19:16):
They actually made the Owen Women's worth something.

Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
Because they gave Mariah her shot at Tony and got
her involved in that. They already do that with the
men's They they if they're going to do a tournament,
which I love the idea. I think that's a great output.
It would make more sense to do that that way,
and it would fit who Cope is and what he
does when he said a time in tim of guineas
there to put people over and do his thing.

Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
But you're supple interrupt you because you're right at that
Maria are undershot at all In at Tony, and that
all In was at on August twenty fifth, so it
was definitely July and early early August probably is what
it ended.

Speaker 3 (01:19:56):
So you and think about the people who are right
now wanting to be contender for the title. Swerve mjf
hang Man, Jay White, Uh, who else you can put?

Speaker 4 (01:20:09):
That's four guys right there.

Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
You need three more. You could put Christian in there, Christian.

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
In there, you could put I mean there, you could
put two other guys. It doesn't matter who the other
two are could be, or.

Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
It could be or Fyle Fletcher, it could be sudden.

Speaker 6 (01:20:25):
You're inquest on where I was thinking, because the Owen
Cup tournament is usually June to July, depending on how
they schedule it. But they can always move it back
a few weeks, right, it's kind of the next tourney
to come up. However, my thought with Christian holding the
briefcase over people for the all in main event is
because he puts Nick Wayne in the tournament and can

(01:20:46):
go through with Yeah, Nick Wayne's gonna be in that tournament.
You know he will unless somehow we get Lucasaurus back.
He's doing better, but if he's not comfortable to be
in the ring, uh, save that for later. It will
hit whenever he comes back. But having Nick Wayne do
a career attorney up to that point just to get
mad at his dad at the last second and then

(01:21:06):
give it to someone that Christian is very scared of.
Who do you think we could put out there that
Christian is very scared of?

Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
Adam Gopland Copeland.

Speaker 6 (01:21:18):
Yeah, yeah, I think I think we can make this
work where where it does the no reverse thing and
makes Christian scared as ship. No better pay per view
than when you know the heel is on the ropes.

Speaker 2 (01:21:30):
Matt Sidell.

Speaker 4 (01:21:32):
Matt Sidell.

Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
Yeah, well, I'm sorry, I said, Matt Sidel. He's fantastic,
He's a great.

Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
Russell's great, he's great, but I don't think Christian's gonna
be scared of him.

Speaker 1 (01:21:44):
Yeah, especially down with an old thirty three record in
a wide Sidella's never won an AW Signals match.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Uh well Yeah. In the future, for the AW fan,
look forward to our media, We're gonna do a top
five of the worst debuts in in professional wrestling history inside.

Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
Oh my god, Number one's got to be a shock master.

Speaker 6 (01:22:16):
Though they worked it into a bet segment. If you
guys saw that.

Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Sure did? Yeah, oh god, yeah, I mean side la
It's is a good worker and he's fantastic, but like
you know, r I P. I mean, like, unfortunately, it's
like one of those instances like, hey man, you completely sorry,
Jericho botched your debut completely after it and the bum

(01:22:42):
like the dude disqualify.

Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
I kind of think I kind of think you got
it right the d because, like you said, Marxist had
to come back, and it wasn't like he had a choice.
They actually had to have him come back from three
times he was supposed to go on vacation because they
had to have his name to keep the show going,
and this definitely would be a way for him to

(01:23:07):
get some time off.

Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
Yeah, I agree, I agree with you on all.

Speaker 6 (01:23:12):
That he loves the meta storytelling. The Bucks have always
loved the meta storytelling. Tony versus Mariah is the peak
of meta storytelling. And it's kind of the match I
want to see the most on this pay per view.
I think I'm happy that he's doing it, even if
it's a way where Max is kind of the gimmick's
gonna rub the fans the wrong way because Max wants

(01:23:34):
it to. It's almost like him him getting a potato
on us for constantly calling him back to work. Sometimes
we need a weekend, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
And speaking of weekends, revolution is this Sunday. And by
the way, AW did announce that starting on Sunday, all
AW pay per views will be available for purchase on
Amazon Prime Video. So there you go another look. People
are upset. Oh, we don't want to go. We don't

(01:24:06):
want to see it on Amazon. You know, Amazon sucks,
you know Bezos and whatever. You know. Look, the thing
is is that Amazon Prime has a lot of subscribers.
You turn on Prime Video to watch a TV show
or a movie that they have, and you see an
advertisement for AW. Guess what that brings more viewers into
AW at AW is getting paid to do it, So

(01:24:28):
why the hell not that you know, you don't you
don't have to, like Prime Video or Amazon or anything.
But guess what, it's good press, not bad press, it's
good press. But look, we will be back at eight
forty five Eastern time on Tuesday night for our Ignition

(01:24:49):
podcast and we will probably be doing a lot of
talking about Revolution. Shane, did you have something you want
to add?

Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
No, I'm petting my cat.

Speaker 1 (01:25:02):
That wasn't reasonable, Okay, No, I I tell you, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:25:08):
No, go ahead. I want to say that that that
revolution is going to be a banger and you.

Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
Know, yeah, we're going to be exhausted. I'm telling you,
there's so many of these matches are gonna have us
on the edge of our seats. I think we are
going to have a lot of matches that are going
to keep us on the edge of our seats. Our
heart rates are gonna be up, We're gonna be biting
our fingernails, We're gonna be you know, just nervously watching,
and we're gonna be emotionally drained by the end of this,

(01:25:38):
uh pay per view. I really do think so. So anyway,
that's the show for tonight. I can't think of anything
else we need to say, right, Shane, do you have anything?

Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
We're going to go anyone? Pepper in.

Speaker 4 (01:25:55):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
All right then well forty ae W FANHA podcast. Thank
you for listening. This is Colson.

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
That's a shandy.

Speaker 1 (01:26:05):
Good night, everybody, have a gank you. Good night. Eddie Kingston.

Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
We love you.

Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
