Speaker 1 (00:00):
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Welcome to Always Hold on to Star Wars, because just
what the Internet needed was another podcast talking about Stars
Star Wars. Jesus, I just one word did that.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
We take a few weeks off and we've completely forgot.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
How to do it. I'm one of your hosts, Joey
and joining me. We've had Cavante go Away and Chris
and today we're going to be talking about episode three
of Hard Knocks training Camp with the Chicago Bears. I'm
just kidding. We just I think we fell off a
little bit. N CAA football came out Hard Knocks's center
(01:14):
stage for me, so I think we're all we all
were starting to head down football mode. But there's there's
Star Wars news out there.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yeah, news we're all super excited about.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Right Ah man, I actually don't remember what I said,
but I probably said that if they made a season two,
I guess I'd watch it.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
I think I was. I feel like my emotions were,
like the thing I was the most annoyed with was
that season one was just a dumb setup for what
we all wanted out of the show. So I am
kind of bummed.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
That and we're not gonna get it.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, breaking news for everybody. The Acolyte Season two was
announced that it has I don't know if canceled is
the right word or they just don't plan on moving
because they had said no, they said that they did
not plan on developing a season two, which takes me
even more into the Actlyte because this is the whole
problem with the sequels. You write the story and then
(02:13):
you say, Okay, we're going to do a season one.
We're gonna do a season two, We're gonna this is
how it's going to go. You don't just say, oh,
season one was good and pointless and didn't go anywhere,
and now it's time to think of a season two
with one of the most pivotal characters of setting up
the prequels.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
But anyway, well, let's let's preface this. It didn't It
didn't get canceled or not renewed for any of those reasons. Yes,
the simple reason, and there's speculation about all the internet
talk got it, But the reality of it is. Viewership
on the show dropped drastically after episode three, and the
viewership for the finale episode of season one of the
(02:49):
act Lite was the lowest that there's ever been for
a Star Wars finale TV show. So just the fact
of the matter is people weren't watching it.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
People weren't watching it. Yeah in you know, for we
were we watched it. No, and there's gonna be more
fun things we talk about. There's gonna be more fun
things to talk about with in Star Wars in this episode.
But yeah, basically, what's you're saying, Christian like your spot
on with that? It's guys, this show wasn't canceled because
people on the internet. Twitter's not real, Okay. Twitter's not
(03:17):
a real example or real understanding what the real world
thinks about things. Okay, So just because you see people
loving something on Twitter or hating something on Twitter, doesn't
mean that's what everyone feels about it.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Is going to be great. Twitter seems to say that,
and it's true.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
You guys all heard the three of ours issues with
the show. I don't think any of you guys will
take our criticisms out of that and say we're just
grifters online who are mad about Obviously, I'm mad that
there's black people and women on screens. I mean, you know,
I hate that kind of stuff. But uh, yeah, it
just unfortunately it just wasn't as uh as great as
it could have been. And look, better shows have been canceled,
(03:58):
So let's not act like this is some kind of
unjust trapped tragedy. Shows you cancel all the time.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
I'm just gonna spontaneously throw this out there. Let's just
go around the table. What is the weird show that
you are the most upset about that did not get renewed.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
I know, I have an obscure one. It's a it's
a Hulu original show called The Path. It was it
was I think there was two seasons of it, and
it had a the actor the actor who played Jesse
Pinkman and Breaking Bad. I can't think Aaron Paul he was.
It's a cult show, right, And by the end of
(04:40):
the second season you find out that our character actually
is because they present the show as if like you
don't know if the culture really or not. And then
by the end of the second season he exhibits supernatural
powers which would put him in line with like their
religious like God, and we're like, oh, it's getting somewhere,
and then it never did, never finish the show.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
So when I first got into TV, it was around
that CBS Powers Monday night sitcom when you had How
I Met Your Mother? Two and F Men. I think
maybe right when Big Bang Theory was getting going. I
don't know for sure, but there was a sitcom called
The Class and I was young. I was probably way
(05:20):
too young to be watching Two and F Men and
How I Met Your Mother, but I was because the
whole family sat down and watched these sitcoms. I don't
even remember the story, to be honest. It was just
like a normal sitcom about I think it was about
people who were in the same elementary school class and
met and kind of all met each other again when
they were older. And that is when I learned that
(05:41):
things couldn't get renewed, and I was like what When
it came back around in the fall, I was like, Oh,
where's that other show? Like, oh, okay, we just don't
get to continue with that. And that was my first
lesson in that I have way too.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
Many and I'm sure there are very obvious ones that
I just can't think of on the spot right now,
but the first one I'm gonna go with was the
Nickelodeon show Animorphs.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
I love those books series as a kid, and I
think they had like sixty something books. That show could
have gone on forever. It was good, it stuck to
the story for the most part, changed me, but like
the production value wasn't there, so it wasn't gonna keep going.
But the one I can think of most recently, and
I got onto this after the fact, not when it
was on TV, was Pitch. It was like the story,
but the female pitcher who played for the Padres, Mark
(06:29):
Paul Gosler's in it. What's her name, Ali Larder. There's
a whole bunch of people got Dan Lauria. Isn't it nice?
It had like one season, one shortened season about a
female pitcher. She was the first female pitcher to ever
pitched in the Major League. She played for the Padres.
I love that kind of show because it was inside baseball,
it was actual major league teams, and I thought they
(06:52):
had a really cool premise and that didn't get rid
of it. But I'm sure there's more than I'm missing.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
And we probably all should have mentioned the Tomorrow people.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
I never like that and like like Firefly, you know,
like you know, the classic one, the.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Big ones that everybody talks about.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Yeah, there was so many that I can't think of that.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
There was one on There was a show on Fox.
It was it was about the X Men, but it
wasn't Legion. I forgot the name of it, but like
they were like offshoot X Men that I was really
into and it got canceled. But but yeah, but I
have to say the Accolyte unfortunately, unless you know, they
changed their mind, which they could, but at this point
it has been reported by every major outlet, no season two.
(07:30):
So alright, no more, no more? Uh, Hot Sith Lady,
uh and Hot Sith dude hanging out no more? And
I'll go and get the joke out now. It's just
the power of one season. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
It really just happened to coincide with we finished our
coverage of the Actually it's kind of why we finished
our coverage of Acolyte. We took a little break, and
then when we were coming back to talk about the
things that we want to talk about, uh, the news
came out we had to touch.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
On and yeah, before right before we started recording, I
think we were just waiting for Kevi to win his
first national championship. Yes, in NCAA football.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
I did, I did. I'm a champion though once.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Once that happened, we were able to come back into
the show.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Yeah, everything revolves around video games, right. So speaking of
video games, it is there's a very big one that
comes out next week that I am super excited for.
I pre ordered it, so I get the three days early.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I couldn't pre ordered this sign outlaws In.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
The new Star Wars video game, I've seen completely mixed
reviews of the internet. There are people that say it's amazing,
don't listen to the review bombing, and then there are
other people say this is the most god awful thing
they've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
So just like sounds like Star Wars recently.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yeah, that's about right now. Just look at people's track
record on what they're behind and normally and then you
can figure it out.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
So, Kevin, make me feel better.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
I don't know video games as well as you do.
I'm a frequent player, but I don't get into the
world and the law. And so Ubisoft is making.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
This yes, uh, like they make all the Assassin's Creed games,
they've made those do well, right, Yeah, those are open
world games. They made the uh oh man, the hacker games.
I can't think of what they're called the hacker games
where you you're in Chicago, you can hack people. I've
watched Dogs. Sorry, they made all to watch Dogs games. Uh.
(09:25):
They make a lot of the uh they make the
Tom Clancy Ghost Recon games, so they're they're used to
making big, large, open worlds. I'm actually really excited about
this because I think, as just with video games as
well as Star Wars, people are expecting way too much
out of And before I say it, you know they're
expecting way too much out of out of games. I'm
not saying that they're not expecting them to be good
(09:46):
or be well made. That's a different situation. But we're
we're at a point now in our life where we
can play a game where we can travel on different
planets and be in the Star Wars universe. I'm not
complaining about that. Uh, That's something I've all always wanted
to do. So Ubisoft has lost favor with a lot
of the gaming fans because they kind of have gotten
(10:09):
the formula that people are kind of I would like
to see refreshed. All the Assassin's Creeds are starting to
kind of feel the same. All the tropes of their
games are starting to kind of be evident, but this
is them doing something different, So I'm excited about it.
I think that you. I think, Chris, you're gonna love
this game, like I think you're gonna love it. I
(10:29):
think I'm gonna love it. But uh, you don't have
its attractors. But that's that's everything.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Yeah, I hope. So, I mean, I'm the time period
is something that we haven't explored in a while video games. Actually,
you know what this this time frame has been pretty
exploring video games, So Shadow of the Empire. It's set
between Empire strikes backs in Return of the Jedi.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Okay, that's I mean.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
So it's like Syndicate, Crimson, Dawn, the Pikes.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
So it might be a good It might be a
good thing if you're really up on the current comics.
I'm sure because the Kurt the Kirk comic run has
been kind of in that area, so that would be
I'm curious if they'll pull in from there.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
I'm sure they are. Like Kira, Kira is confirmed to
be in it, and she's big in the comics too.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Right. Oh, I need to finish the newest Fallen Order
game before I get to this one.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
But yeah, man, a gamer again.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
I just I start it, I get lost, and then
I have to figure out where I am, and then
something else happens in my life and I move forward,
and then I come back in three months when when
my son was born, I played the first game with
him in my arms, sleeping the entire time. So I
guess that's just what I need before before the next
(11:43):
game is just another child.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
So eventually, yeah, I'm just excited for the time frame
in particular. But the idea that you could be a
criminal and you could gain you can gain like faction
points with whichever syndicate or crime group that you want to.
I've is everyone always against the empire, but like you
could double cross, you could do a job for like
(12:05):
was it Crimson Down that's the name of it, right, Yeah,
from solo, Yeah, mixing everything up, or the Pike syndicate
and or the Huts. You could do a job for
one and then you could like double cross them and
get points at the other one, and then that'll that'll
change in the game how you can access certain places.
So if you have good favor with one of the
crime families, you can get better access to like they're
(12:27):
huts or I'm sorry, they're huts. They're they're like pubs
and canteenas and stuff, or you can get better jobs
with them. And I guess you know everyone's against stormtroopers, right,
so yeah, it's always fun shooting stormtroopers.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
I've paid attention to the idea of this game, I
haven't followed it too closely. I will definitely. I won't
pre order for the early access, but I'm definitely gonna
buy it right away and see if it catches my interest.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
And I'm super excited to see what they do for
different planets and then interplanetary travel, like I know you
could do space battles and stuff, and like to get
off planet, like from you get in your ship you
start to take off. I think there's like a cut
scene to get into space or some which is fine.
I get that, Yeah, but I want to see how
it's like when you get to new areas.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
I kind of hope it's close to the Spider Man
games or like the GTA games, where you don't really
need to be focused in on the story. I just
want to pick up the game the controller, turn on
the game, and have fun.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Yeah, you can absolutely do those things.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yeah, Yeah, that's the problem I have with Fallen Order
is when I pick it up, I'm like, oh, I
forgot I was lost in this cave and I don't
know where I am. And it's just like, once I
finally get the groove back, I'm done playing for the
You know, I don't have you know, I don't have
the ability like I did, you know in college, to say, Okay,
(13:52):
I just bought this game and I'm not going to
class for the next two days, and this is what
I'm going to do. So if this game is something
I can casually pick up and just have fun with
more often and stumble into the story, that would be
perfect for me.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Typically I get caught up and like I want to
finish stories because I just want to know what happens.
I think I'm gonna try really hard on this one
not to do it so like I'm gonna spend a
lot of time in the world.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Getting Vider Man PS. Five, I was done with every
side mission before I went in and finished the story
of the game. And that's that. That was so much
more satisfying. It was just it really good, lets you
live in it.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Fun fun video game. There are there are some positive
Star Wars things coming out that we can at least
be excited about. That's where what D twenty three comes in.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
Right, Yes, so Disney's convention that they have every other year.
We got a lot of Star Wars content out of
this one. Actually, I mean this, this D twenty three
seemed huge for content in particular, Like if you follow
a lot of Disneys, So there's Pixar movies coming out
that they.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Gave a lot.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
We'll get to you in a second. We'll give you
the floor. I know you've got a lot to say, uh, Pixar, Disney,
Pixar movies coming out. There's a lot of If you're
a theme park guy like me, I'm like, I'm a
big Disney World guy. I go a couple times a year.
There's a lot of park park information that came out
about new rides, new lands coming That stuff was huge.
There's all and it was all confirmed stuff. It wasn't
like we're thinking about this, it's like, no, we're actually
(15:24):
doing this. A lot of there's some movies kind of
like new Freaky Friday sequels coming out. But then also
I feel like we got more Star Wars stuff that
we would normally get at a time like this, we
got like footage from Mandalorian Grogu. I don't know if
it was if anything was new, or if it was
just like re editing or putting old pieces together, but
it was teasing the movie coming out that's coming on
(15:45):
in two years.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Yeah, that's a pretty cold play.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Now, there's no way that I'm saying it now, there's
no way that movie is not happening. That one that
was that was only happening. That one's happening, right, Daisy
feels a lot like Henry Cavill, like they're just going
to string that along and then they're like, oh, we're
going in another direction.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Well they did commit. I guess they did commit, And
I'm using quotation marks to putting two to three new
movies out yes, coming soon, So we'll see. I don't
think it'll be the three that they announced what was
it like two years ago? But we'll see. But speaking
of a new movie and another tangent rant here, Joey,
(16:30):
you have some strong feelings about one of the announcements
that came out here, I do. I guess it's partially
tied to Star Wars because they do touch on Star
Wars stuff in it, and I.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Have a great Star Wars analogy to go with it.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
George, George Man, let's hear it all right.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
I was born nineteen ninety four, as I've said a
few times here, So Toy Story holds a very very
special place in my heart. In the second Toy Story film,
what he learns a valuable lesson about why it is
important to be there for a child and not just
go off and live your own life as a toy.
(17:07):
We have a purpose, we have a thing that we
need to do, and Toy Story three puts a bow
right on that and says, you know what, it's not
all about your kid, It's about any kid. Yeah, And
they move on to Bonnie and that's wonderful. And then
this hot garbage called Toy Story four comes out where
(17:28):
we betray every lesson that we've ever learned, and what're
you just like? All right, guys, I'm out, my old
girlfriend's back in town. Peace like that.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
That's the that's the overall, that's the.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Arching, overarching story. Yeah, but whatever, you know what? Like
same with Star Wars, right, I wasn't a big fan
of the Last Jedi when it came out. I thought
there were some things about Luke that I wouldn't have
personally done. Seems like Mark Hamill wouldn't have personally done.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
But you know, Lucas perhaps anyone.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
Yeah, but at the end of the day, it's a
story that came out. Yeah, and you know what the
last Jedi, I will say has grown on me. Toy
Story four has not. I but somehow.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
What he returns, Yeah, somehow.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
We got a Toy Story five and they.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
That's Toy Story five and they're just like, oh, yeah,
it's gonna be like, oh about the you know, toys
against like technology. Great idea, that's a wonderful idea for
a toy story film. I know Pixar can do a
wonderful job with that. But you tried to make this
grand statement about what he's character in the last one,
about how he grew and evolved. Let's just stick with that,
like that was the right thing to do. And you're like, nah,
(18:42):
just bring him back because like, we can't make a
we can't make a bunch of toys and it's not
what he Anne buzz I am very upset about this.
It just seems like a cash grab. I kind of
want to protest it and just wait because I really
don't feel like rewarding this, but I know I'm gonna
go because I love Toy Story, my son loves Toy Story,
(19:07):
and I am conflicted and I'm upset. Thank you for
the floor.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
I agree with you. One person here for you, buddy, here,
I will counter just with this.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
My kids are a little bit older than yours. Cav's
older than mine. Yeah, anytime there's new content, even if
it's the shorts that are like two to five minutes long, cool.
They eat up any new content for characters that they love.
And I got tell you they're super excited for another
Toy Story movie regardless of the story.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
This next one looks good. I think I am just
going to cancel my Disney Plus subscription or at least
take it off the main TV and I'll watch Star
Wars in the back room and just tell myself and
then like take the Toy Story for like sleeve and
put it into whatever this movie is and just make
him like, oh, like yeah, they there's some stuff we miss.
(20:00):
I don't know. This fourky guy seems cool. He just
showed up in between movies just like wheezy. I mean,
no big deal, like, that's fine, you can just have
But no, we're just gonna say that Toy Star four
did not happen and move forward with what he just
being back. If they don't explain it, If.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
He's just there, I'm sure they'll explain it. There's no
way he just shows. If it's just a line of like, oh, yeah,
the circus was back in town and here I am,
I'm just going to lose it. I am going to
lose it. Another non Star Wars topic, but it was
news from this event. Well, what did you guys think
(20:33):
of the Skeleton Crew preview?
Speaker 3 (20:36):
That looks fun as hell, seeing fun as hell, seeing
my personal crush Jude Law use the force at the
end of it.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Man, I think that this will completely hinge on two things.
One lore or Star Wars like timeline or facts that
they actually tend to bring in. I'm hoping it's minimal
like the original first season of Mandalorian type thing until
they a little bit. And Two how likable the kids are?
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Yeah, kid actors, it's crucial.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Yeah, it's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
We're gonna have to really be bought in for these kids.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
But I think this is a similar concept to and
or honestly, and or for the first time we got
to see the lived in part of the universe. We
just saw the suburbs and Star Wars in that trailer,
and that is cool. I'm excited for that. That's gonna
be cool me too.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
I'm excited for that for that type of thing, Like
what goes on in the background, what's the everyday life
of things? We can see the big start, the big
timeline and uh, you know, like political pieces and what's
going on in the major thing?
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Is their uncle going to be at the dinner table
talking about how he thinks Palpatine was playing both sides
of the Clone Wars or something, and he.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Have like a Star Wars thanks given were speaking politics
of Star Wars around the table.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
That's you want.
Speaker 4 (21:52):
Jude Law is an old Jedi, right.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
He appears to use the Force, or at least the
trailer is cut to make it looks like he used.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
They call him a Jedi.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
They call him a Jedi. H that could be a
herring in the trailer.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Sure, that could just be a kid seeing the Force
and thinking.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Yeah, he could be a bad guy. I don't know, uh,
you know, sit there all the new regions kidding it
seems like a fun light project, which might be good
right now to maybe have a little bit more fun
with Star Wars instead of it being so serious. It
feels like because I was one of the issues we
(22:25):
have the act, like like the tonal shift of like
is it supposed to be fun or is this serious
or I don't really know how to take it because
some scenes you're goofing off. Some scenes is very dramatic.
This kind of seems like it's a kid's It seems
like he's you know, we know Star Wars is for kids,
calm down, for the friends, but you know, this seems
like it's made more for like a younger audience to
check out.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
This is a direct knee jerk reaction. I will say
by Disney two stranger things. I'm like, I feel like
like probably.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Oh yeah, I'm trying're trying to have something like that. Yeah,
and I'm cool with that. Yeah. So I'm hoping for
it to do what I'm hoping Star Wars TV.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
You know, I hope it is received better. I don't
want to say I hope the shows are better or not,
because you know, the shows are gonna be up to
people's interpretations. I just hope they're received better so we
can because it feels like another I'm a little nervous
that nothing can come out in Star Wars anymore. It's
ever going to be actually treated fairly. It's just gonna
either be you hate it or you love it, and
there's not gonna be any nuance to it if this
(23:23):
ends up having a divisive response like the Acolyte did.
I'm nervous about Star Wars TV, you know, because why
do it? And like why even want to participate in
it if you know you're just gonna get like harassed
and like you know, panned online, which these guys are
(23:44):
all human I know right now the Cassidy Acolyte, who
you know, we didn't fault in anything wrong with it, are
probably not having a great day right now. So like,
I just I hope it does good. You know, outside
of that they showed they showed and or I mean,
come on, and or is like the most the safest bet.
It's like Caleb Williams one of the Super Bowl that
you're right, he got starn tutin. Uh you know, so
(24:09):
I mean end or season two, you know, need more
of that. Can't wait to see that.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
Yeah, and I think all the aside showed from the
end or too looks incredible.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Crenick. That's the biggest thing for me is h and
and I think that is the formula for Star Wars television.
From everything we've seen so far, the most successful maybe
not the most successful, but the best things we're getting
are the least attached to the main story. You know,
(24:42):
I loved Kenoby, we loved Kenobi. The world had some
issues with it. Did not look Knob and the and
the and Honestly, at the end of the day, a
TV show you have to give a lot more creative
control to the people making the show than necessarily a movie.
Where a movie is going to be this contained story
(25:04):
that is the story's approved before it moves anywhere. At
least that's how I assume things work. But with a
TV show, you want to give them the ability to
make their own stories. Mandalorian and or honestly, even Ahsoka
Ahsoka's the timeline in which Ahsoka is taking place is
not going to drastically affect other things. Yeah, those have
(25:27):
been the best of Star Wars TV because they're not
necessarily and of every single episode, at the end of
every single episode, you're not going to have YouTuber sitting
they're saying, oh my god, this ruins everything, because we
there's nothing to ruin where. That's why I think Skeleton
(25:47):
Crew can be very successful, because it's not if it
stays detached and in a season two you can grow
into it like and or yeah, and or it looks
like it is going to well we know where it
ends is at Roque one, so by nature it has
to grow into that.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
But even even season one and Or it touched on that,
like you know they're talking about Palpatine. You have man Mathma,
you have Sagarera, you have like they really they put
themselves in a place where people could have been saying
the same thing like this this runs everything and this
breaks everything. But they did a good job of it.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
It's so well done. Yeah, it's hard hard to fight it.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, but I think if honestly, I know we loved
I loved seeing Kenobi, maybe we move out of that
realm of seeing your beloved characters. Maybe a cameo here
and there, you know, a nice cgi Luke Skywalker every
once in a while is good for the soul.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
But I need my live action calcasts man. I need
my car, That's what I want. Man.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Yeah, I really wonder if we'll see any calcasts until
they finish the video games, because they do have a
story they.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Want to find.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
That's probably why there's a third video game eventually.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
And he's gonna die.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Oh man, don't tell me that. So I mean outside
of those two, but they they also announced you know,
it's called The Mandalorian and grogu mm hmm. I wish
it was a different title.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
But okay, well, you know how they sat down in
a room and they said they came up with all
these creative titles and they and somebody was like, okay,
so how are how are regular people going to know
that baby oodas in this movie? They're like, good point,
good point, all right, just basic basic title. Yeah, get
everybody and their kids there.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Curious to what that's gonna do and how that's going
to kind of flesh out this apparent you know, kind
of offshoot Star Wars movies that we're going to have
with all these kind of Disney plus characters interacting with that.
So I am excited about that.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
Did we get any Ahsoka, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
I don't think there was nothing. I don't think there
was anything about Soak at all.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
I think there's a season two confirmed.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
I've been kind of on and off Twitter. Do we
have anything about the RecA.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
That just that they're doing it? Okay, they did confirm
they were recasting. I guess someone had gotten sides for
what they were calling for for for the season two
they are. I think it is confirmed they're doing a
season two and is confirmed they're recasting. They're recasting Balen
and they're also casting Ablo. Okay, yeah, they are going
(28:22):
that route.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Just gets Sam Whit. We're in here just as the scientist. Guys.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
It's a way to get Anakin Skywalker involved.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yeah, yeah, because Hayden is here for I think Hayden's
here for a while.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
I'm happy he's back. Yeah, you got the shows, you
got the movie. And then I think they had like
a lego Star Wars, like little.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Oh my gosh, this is the front and center news here.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
You know, like just a little tiny lego Star Wars.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
It's like a Star Wars.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
What f right?
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Yeah, somebody that Yeah it looks amazing. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Mark Hamill is voicing Luke Skywalker. But but he's like
a dude.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Mark Hamill is Luke Kywalker.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
This is what he wanted to do. Yeah, we're getting
Darth jar Jar. That's the most important thing right behind me,
right here. This is my Millennium Falcon that I have
had since two thousand and five. I think I'm buying this.
They're they're already selling it the Dark Falcon and it
comes with a dark Jar, Darth Jar Jar that, like I,
(29:23):
I cannot wait. Their Holiday UH Special was wonderful. We
watched that like two years ago. The Halloween one was
is fine, it was pretty good. The Summer Vacation one
worse than the Halloween one. They are ramping it back up.
The Lego content is back. This is going to be incredible.
(29:46):
I can't wait.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Isn't the new isn't the most recent Lego Star Wars game?
Isn't that multiplayer?
Speaker 4 (29:52):
No?
Speaker 2 (29:53):
I don't think so. Wait it is?
Speaker 4 (29:55):
No, it is like it's open world, it's open world.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Together.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
I was like jell, like, I mean, dude, all right,
and with that, always hold on to Star Wars. But no, no,
I'm excited for those things. So there's some fun, exciting
things to look forward to in UH in Star Wars World.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
As far as coming up, keV, you've been recently. I
don't know if at Disney where they have the the
ride Smugglers Run where you get a pilot and lineum Falcon.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Yeah, I have a bad experience with that. I'm not
a great pilot. I learned that day.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
You got to be the pilot because it's a you
have a chance.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
It was so nice because everyone was like, this is
his first time ever being here. Let him pilot because
everyone has already done it, and they were not happy
that I was.
Speaker 4 (30:46):
Another rock as right now. Like the storyline of it
is Hondo is running a business and you're you're running
a mission for him to get some quaxium.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Hm.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
They announced it d twenty three. There's gonna be a
new storyline for it with the Mandalorian and Grogu.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Oh that's super cool.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Oh so I don't go.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
You can come on there all the time.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
It doesn't support online multiplayer. I'm sorry I've been googling.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
I'm so sorry, Joey.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
I don't know if it'll be any different in that.
I think I think you still pilot the Falcon and
are there, but it'll probably be something like the Manlorian
and Groger in there, the Boots Starfighter are probably part
of the mission or some point.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Okay, that'd be pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
And then like recently this year, they added new stories
to Star Tours.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yes, enjoy Star Tours.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
There's storylines from the prequels all the way to the sequels,
and every time you ride it you get a different
story kind of mixes and matches. But they added they
added storylines with the Mandalorian, with Ahsoka, and with and
Or Nice that all got added this year as well.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Okay, another reason to go back. I mean, and the
only reason I got to go was because my buddies
having a bachelor party there. Uh my kids have not
been yet, and I told them they have to buy
their own ticket. Unfortunately there's too many of them. But
hopefully one day we'll go. I mean, that's all great
about Star Wars and everything, guys, right, but like us,
like what are like? Like what are we doing? The
Acolyte apparently took so much out of us. We had
(32:19):
to take a break. But now we're now, we feel refreshed.
We had a vacation from Star Wars and mainly from
people arguing about it on the internet. For I mean,
I know, I took up, I took a personal like
sabbatical from Star Wars social media because uh and and
today with today's news, I had to get barried back
off because it's all back and I'll say, Okay, I
(32:41):
just got to ride this one out.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
But we get to hop back into something that I'm
actually quite excited to get back in because that means
one thing and one thing only. Chris, you know what
that means.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Joey's Clone Wars voice.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
We get to Joey's voice. Yep, we gets narrator.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
There are heroes and villains on both sides.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
We're getting back into the Clone Wars man finally and
uh and no show when it's a gonna win December, December, December, Okay,
three months we got, Yeah, so we won't be interrupted
by another show that'll take over our entire podcast and
emotional health for several weeks.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
We get back looking forward to some in depth coverage
of the Clone Wars.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
No, we get to finally dominate the Clone Wars and
talk about a show that I guess on themes started
off with a couple of people saying, I don't know
if I like this, And because they had I guess
an idea and an objective it ended up being one
of the most beloved projects in Star Wars. It also
(33:43):
had characters and people didn't like in the beginning and
representations of characters they thought weren't accurate. But as they
kept going because they had they had, they had, they had,
they had, they had, they had a goal. You know,
they had a story board well as you.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Know, that was George Lucas Star Wars at that time.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Oh yeah, yeah, that guy.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Yeah. But perhaps to them, we talk about doing something
in a space that you grant the potential to ruin
it all or break lower, et cetera. Season seven that
they brought back, that they came back and finished season
seven of the Clone Wars. That's some of the best
Star Wars content we've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
Yeah, I'm waiting. I'm waiting for the super cut officially
release it, you cowards. Just splice splice that last darc
in nice four k on Disney plus mixing animation and
live action. Heck yeah, heck yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
I do have one question, because you know, we're talking
about future things going on D three stuff, and we're
kind of doing our post coverage in the News of
the Acolyte, right, So I do have one question about
the Acolyte. Do you think these characters are going to
just go away or do you think we will see
these characters in different projects to some maybe an animation
or reference in a book, a comic. Do you think
(34:59):
that we will hear about Kimeer and Osha and May
and you know in these because you know, Vanessa Roe
is already in the you know, she's like, she's already there.
But like as far as these other characters that they're adding,
you know, this guy named Kiati moundy know, I don't
know if he's gonna come back, you know, stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
But in twenty forty one, when the Star Wars equivalent
of Deadpool and Wolverine comes out, Kimier is gonna come
walking through the door.
Speaker 4 (35:24):
Yeah, yeah, I think that absolutely you may see novel
and comic book adaptations because I think people are gonna
or the people involved in this are going to be
dying to tell their story and to tie it in.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
We even Charles Saul was an executive producer.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
I don't think that we're going to see any new
shows or even movies that touch upon this for a
while because of it, especially especially these characters. Maybe we
might see something in a closer timeframe. I don't know,
but I think definitely novel comic books is the arena
that we'll start to see these characters again.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
I'd love to read the novelization of their story continuing,
but it has to be different than Dark Disciples, I
mean not.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
A novelization has to be better written than the TV shows.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
I'm saying, like, it's weird for me to say, like,
because uh, now that this is over and I've been
hearing people's like talk like recap the stories. Uh, it's
weird that I think this would have been better as
a novel than as a television show. Oh yeah, yeah,
I think I think I would have enjoyed it a
lot better if it was a book, more so than
a television show.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
I don't know what, Yeah, because honestly, yeah, because in
a book, the episode, the flashback episodes would have been
perfectly fine placed where they were.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
I feel like, yeah, yeah, but you can even spread
them out more. You can do like a chapter flashback
than a chapter. Yeah. Anyways, see what they give us. Yeah,
so coming up Clone Wars that'll be coming your way
from us soon, probably be another brief break before you
(36:56):
hear from us, but then uh, we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Yeah, So thank you guys for listening. I hope this
was a quick little moment out of your day just
to you know we're back and we're gonna get into
the Clone Warks for you guys.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
And if you missed us as much as we missed you, yes, because.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
Man, you guys understand how much, like so much life
happens to me where like I can't record with you
guys sometimes that you guys always know, I'd really am
happy when I get to because I need this so much.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Same here, man, you know what I need.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
You know what I need to I need a Joe.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Yeah, you know what? You know what? Uh, I don't.
I don't know if I have a great one, but
but but I'm gonna go for it. Okay, Hey, Uh,
why couldn't Luke find love?
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Why it was always with Solo?
Speaker 3 (37:42):
He was looking in all the wrong places.
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Too soon.
Speaker 3 (37:52):
But yeah, with that horrible Star Wars joke, hopefully you
guys got a chuckle out of it. As always, guys,
May the Force be.
