Speaker 1 (00:00):
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Welcome to always hold on to Star Wars because just
with the Internet, it needed was another podcast talk about
Star Wars. Today, we've got Chris Hello there and Cavante.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
How's it going man?
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Here to talk about another season of Clone Wars.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
We're truck along through and this is where things really
start to pick up with season three.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Overall? What were how do you guys kind of start
out with this one? So far to it?
Speaker 1 (01:05):
So the title of the season is Secrets Revealed.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Oh my gosh, I didn't even know that the season had
a title. Yeah, the seasons have titles.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yes, I think it should be called World Shrinking, But
that's just me.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Man, I was gonna say this season should be called
Oh look who it is?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Are you saying? There's going to be a lot of
comback players.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, and some some are fantastic.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Others are like, what what the hell are you doing here?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Why are you here? Glad you started off with the
world world Shrinking? Because man, the need to do that
for for properties I did? Sometimes you don't need to.
This is an expansive galaxy, far far away with all
kinds of amazing characters you can create. We don't need
the connected tissue everywhere in Star Wars. Not everywhere, we'll see.
(01:57):
I guess they're kind of getting away from that now
maybe maybe maybe we don't want that. We'll see, but yeah,
now I'm with you on that one man.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Overall, I think the season starts out a little rough,
and I think it picks up, oh yeah, as it
goes on and finishes strong, a lot stronger than it starts.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Yeah. Yeah. I think if anybody looks back on this season,
finally they're talking about the last couple of arcs and
not the beginning. Because of the beginning, the beginning, I think,
I think me, you texteds like a you know, I
don't ever have a hard time watching these things, well,
but I had to make myself keep watching it, like, OK,
I gotta get through this. Well.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I guess for shure preface that it starts like the
first arc is great.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Oh yeah, the first arc is great, and then it
kind of drops off for a little bit, and then
that it gets better. Yeah, but you guys are sitting
here thinking like what was the first arc? I mean,
we'll tell you, we'll get there.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
We'll get there. Joey, you're here. You didn't introduce yourself.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
I am, Oh, yes, I am.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
You introduced the Chris and myself and not yourself.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
It's the Clone Wars. We're not doing that without Joey.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Yeah, yeah, everyone knows. Everyone knows, everyone knows. What about you, Joey,
What do you think about season three so far?
Speaker 4 (03:02):
I had some of my favorite arcs in it, some
of the ones that I've gone back and rewatched the most.
Like you know, I think Mortis is going to be
rewatched quite a bit with especially with ah Soca coming up.
I mean, there's there's a lot of lore that they're
pulling on from this season, I think, with a lot
of the projects they're doing right now.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
So we allowed to talk about lower anymore? I forgot. Sorry.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
This excites me for the next few seasons too, because again,
it just keeps playing the groundwork for what we know
is coming.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah, I gotta say, we know that the Clone Wars
as a whole, the series as a whole has a
weird timeline like they don't. It doesn't really flow chronologically
start to finish, like it bounces around from the end
of the Clone Wars at the beginnings of this is
the first season where it really threw me off watching chronologically, Yeah,
because you can go on the internet and say here's
(03:55):
a watch order and the order and stuff happened, and
then go to that. We're not doing that. We're watching
season by season, and this is the first season. I
think something's happened, like, wait, this is this guy died.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Last season, now he's here again.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
Yeah, I mean it's kind of fun that they don't
have to say, oh, we're going, oh, previously.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
On or anything like that. They're just they just jump
right into wherever you're at now.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Well you get the previously on if you're in the
second or third episode of an arch.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, but they don't have to say like, oh.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
This is not even but it's not previously on. It's
it's they give you a background. Sometimes you you jump
right into it an episode arc and it's got a
description like wait, did I miss that episode?
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Because really, really the opening flashback is is more of
just the crawl for every individual episode. And now I'm
never going to not read the crawl of any movie
in that voice.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I interested that to myself.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
And we're not going to ever read it without your voice.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
I'm going to start a cameo. Oh man, well and
make money on my bad impression.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Well, uh, speaking of that not bad impression, is it
time for that?
Speaker 1 (05:01):
I think it's time for the kessel rundown.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Let's do it.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Burmoil spreads across the galaxy. Season three of Star Wars,
The Clone Wars takes us deeper into the chaos as
the Republic battles to contain the rising power of the Separatists,
political corruption threatens, the Senate, Clone Troopers grapple with the
cost of war, and the Jedi face dangerous new foes,
including the Sinister Knight Sisters of Dathamir. Meanwhile, a mysterious
(05:32):
journey to the Realm of Mortis reveals the cosmic balance
of the Force itself, testing Anakin Skywalker's destiny is the
chosen One. With alliances strained and secrets uncovered, the fate
of the galaxy hangs in the balance as the light
and dark side of the Force collide.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
That's it. I'm about to write a letter today, Feloni.
It's time get this amount a job.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
I think I accidentally killed this guy like a few
episodes ago too, so since he's no funger with.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Us, I can just even though he's fully living.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
I just I just assumed he was dead at one point,
so I'm just trying to take his job. I'm actually
gonna be you Lauren in and Or season season two.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
I just I'm gonna use the joke that Kev's used
every other time we've had this, Like, I need to
go turn my Disney Plus off.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
I think it's playing in the background.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yeah, Disney Plus is playing in the background. Need to
cut it off real quick. No, I'm not still watching
Disney Please cut it off?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
All right. So that's a season overall description. Now let's
get into the arcs and episodes. We start off strong
with an arc called Camino and in this arc, we
follow a group of Clone Cadets who are headstrong, willful, stubborn,
and don't work well together and they're about to flunk out.
(06:52):
But Jedi Master shock T, who does not die in
any of these episodes yet, she wants to give another try.
So they give another try. They pull through, and they
become Domino.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Squad, right, yes, Domino Squad Yes.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
After they like successfully pass their training, Grievous and Ventures
Attack Camino, Grievous from the Air and Ventures from Underwater
that was interesting. Yeah, and the Clones got to like
work together to fight er off. And then we move
(07:29):
into a standalone episode where Ryloth is under siege and
there's a Gedi Master that's trapped on Ryloth. The Republic
is trying to send supplies to save the people and
like food, humanitarian supplies like food and medical aid, not
not like extra troops. But they have to use toy
Daria as like a launching platform to send their stuff.
(07:52):
But today toy Daria is neutral, despite the fact that
we have seen them in other seasons aligned with the Republic. Yes,
so they go there to like ask, hey, can we
do this. Then the Separate to show up and say, no,
you can't because if you do this then we'll see
this as an active war. And then Toyd areas in
the war. So they go back and forth. Eventually they
do send it. They are able to send aid bell
We're gonna and charge our banks, are able to get
(08:14):
aid sent. I just want to say, the Jedi Master
who is on Ryloth like fight in this battle. His
name is I'm a Gundi.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Yeah, I say, do you know I read that writ
I'm a gun Die.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
I'm a gun die.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Yeah, I'm a gun, right, Master die is.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
I'm a gun die.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
I'm a gun. I'm gonna die, Master, I'm gonna die.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Oh that makes so much more sense now, Oh man,
how did I I.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Did? Okay, To be fair, I didn't reason. The reason
I caught that is because I had the captions on
and the way I read it. I read it like
out louds like I'm a gun, I'm gonna die, and.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
He does.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
H r P, I'm a gonna die.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Next, we have an another standalone episode called Sphere of Influence,
which is essentially The Phantom Menace but for a different planet.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yep, yeah, it's actually accurate.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
The storyline is, okay, they're trying to kill a senator or.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Like it's kidnapped.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Yeah, yeah, the Chairman's kids kidnap because the planet is
being blockaded by the Trade Federation and they wanted to
to sign a treaty or make it so.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
The Phantom Menace, the Trade Federation is a one trick pony,
just as Exciting Pads in it.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
He's involved.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
There's no Duela fates.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
In this, so imagine imagine episode one without.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Or pod racing, just just the political corruption side.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
We say everyone's favorite part from phandom minutes.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
I don't know what you guys talked about. I love
talk about trade disputes.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Speaking of corruption, that's the name of the next episode.
There's an arc. It's a mandal or arc. Essentially, there's
corruption on mandel Or and Ahsoka has to infiltrate to
figure out what it is. And Setine and Padme are
are best friends. That's world shrinking to me, right. Yes,
it is albi Wan's love interest from before and Anakin's
(10:24):
love and just mouth they just happen to be best
friends friends, a duchess that should stand that stays on
her planet. She doesn't really go to the Senate. She's
a senator yea. His friends with a senator from Naboo.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Up anyways, who's also in love with the Jedi.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Yes, interesting little subplot where there's a black market being
established on mandel Or that's undercutting the government and some
government officials are involved, and yeah, we get to see it.
Ahsoka be kind of like a master role. She goes
there to like teach cadets. I thought that was pretty cool.
So she she had like the superior levels she would
higher up.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
She taught, Yes.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
And what to do for that.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Next, we have an episode called Assassin Done Don Dun.
Someone's trying to kill Padme no way no, and Ahsoka's
having visions about it and has to go like save
her from Hondo Naka's ex girlfriend who is still alive.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Yeah, yeah, was sur process here.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
The next after that we have an arc where cad
Bane has to free Zero the Hut.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
Not a comeback not a comeback player that cannot even
be nominated.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
And then they go to Narhutta where Zero the Hut's
being held by the the Hut Council and then escapes
and gets hunted by one by cad Baine but also
by Obi Wan and Quinlan Voss.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
The only thing I can say for this is one,
there was a majority of that episode where we just
saw R two D two and c threpo shopping. But
we all know my love for Quinn Voss. I did
not realize this is like his only time he's ever
going to be in this show.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Well, I think he comes back later on, doesn't he?
I don't.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
They were setting them up for his next big arc,
which never happened and became a book.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
It became a book. Yeah, the dark disciple is an
arc for him that was going to be a clone
Wars to become the book instead. Yeah, great to se
Quillan Voss. Yeah, it's just good to see you. I
wish it was more all right.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
And then we have a arc where basically again the
Senate corruption, they want to vote to have more clones
and deregulate banking, riveting stuff.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Padme doesn't want to happen. She just thinks if we
could just talk to the separatists, everything would work out.
So she essentially commits treason because you're not allowed to
talk to the other senators, and she goes under cover
with Ahsoka to go meet with a separatist senator who
essentially they propose a treaty in the Separatist Senate and
(13:00):
the war. Yeah, and it goes through. They're gonna do it,
and then of course at the last second it doesn't
because they attack Coorusont, which Coursont hasn't been attacked in years,
so it makes all the senators be like, no war,
we need more clothes. This was this was all a
floy and pat means like, no, it's not, I know
it's not. For a fact, Like, how do you know
(13:23):
where were you? Did you do something you weren't supposed
to do?
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Also, a separatist senator, lady with the neck tattoos. She
can fix me, she can fix me.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I just love how it's illegal for Padme and Ahsoka
to be there, but they're literally sitting in the Senate meeting.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Yeah, the separatist Senate meeting.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
And we also have something called we have droid suicide bombers,
So that's interesting. Yeah, yeah, we can talk about this
when we get there. But I just I just love
the way Grievous treats droids. He treats them like they
have choices, they have feelings, and they're like real living
beings that make the.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Sums like you, guys are you're not gonna.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Come home from this. You probably won't come home. Actually
you won't come home.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
They're troids, like you, program to do something. They don't
have a choice anyways.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Then we get the like Datha meir arc Massage basically
is growing too powerful, so Palpatine tells Douku to kill her.
He thinks he does, but apparently doesn't, so she then
she wants revenge and she goes back to Dathamare, which
is like where she's from, and gets savaj oh Press,
who is the brother of Darth Maul and has some
(14:36):
like undercover plot. He's going to become Douku's new assassin,
and he does, and then they turn on Douku and
then they go off on their own and and then
what Savage goes off to look for Mal.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yes, he learns that his brother survived his.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
And we learned that Mal has survived. Yes, this is
when we first learn.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
It's so funny that, like, I've always known Mal survived,
but I forgot when I saw it. I was like, oh, yeah,
this is how they tell us that Star Wars needs witches.
It does I do like the witches of daf from here,
I'm calling Savage. I know it's Savage, but his name
a Savage Opress, which is hilarious to me. I thought
he was like. I don't remember seeing this the first
(15:15):
time I watched it or remembering it, but I was
really kind of impressed by how savage and oppressive, you know,
Like I was like, oh, this guy's a pretty not
a joke, So I was kind of happy about that.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Yeah, I weirdly do remember when I first watched this.
I was it was back during COVID when I first
watched the Clone Wars and I was building my Lego Clone.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Turbo tank nice and I was.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Watching this arc and I was like, this is this
is what the first arc where I was like this
show is awesome, Yeah, I got that was like it
for me where I was like, okay, I'm fully in now.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Next we have the Mortise arc, which is probably one
of the most popular Clone Wars arcs now, like you mentioned,
thanks to the Ahsoka show. Essentially, I'll be one. Anakin
and Ahsoka get called to this distressed call from this
really old signal and they end up on this weird
plane of existence called Mortis where there's the father, the son,
(16:14):
and the daughter and basically a big strong part of
the forest. It's all in balance. You have the son
who leans to the dark, but doesn't really go to
the dark until Anakin, o Beyond and Sosoka get there.
You have the daughter who's the light and the father's balance,
and the father calls him there because he's dying, and Anakin,
being the chosen one, is the only one that can
has the power to keep things in balance and balance
(16:36):
out the daughter and the son. Essentially, the son revolts,
tries to kill the father. The daughter jumps in between,
and the brother kills the daughter. Her son kills the daughter,
brother sister, mother, father, son kills the daughter. Everybody's killing everybody,
and then tries to steal the ship. That oh when
(17:00):
Anakin came in on to escape, but they stop him.
Anakin kills the son and I guess for all intensive
purposes here, balance is restored. Also, the daughter gives like
her life force to Ahsoka to bring her back to life.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Yeah, because it's soa dies here main character death plus one.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
You explained that thoroughly, and there's still so much that
happened in this. I cannot believe so much lore in
world building watching this now, like I enjoyed this, I
probably was like what are they doing? When I first
saw this, Like, what are you guys doing? Why are
you make it as complicated?
Speaker 1 (17:35):
I gotta be honest, like I I didn't watch it
until Ahsoka because I never watched the show when it
was on. I'd seen pieces and stuff. I went back
and watched it for Ahska. But I imagine, like Joey, you
probably out of any of us, you probably saw it first. Yeah,
you saw it before you knew who Ahsoka like Ahsoka
Show and everything, right, Yeah, when you watched it, did
(17:55):
you think it was as big as it is?
Speaker 2 (17:58):
No? No, yeah, it was like a throwaway, right, but
I wouldn't but yeah it was. It was cool and interesting,
just more hinting at Anakin's future. Yeah, it was. It
was a It was a cool allusion to how.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
Important it would be in the future.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
No, absolutely, to me, it was a cool thing alluding
to Anakin's future. But I guess for what you're saying,
chrisy throw away perfect example the Doctor Fate episode of Smallville.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yes, yeah, that it gives you.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
It's just there to like hint at what the future
might be, but not like, not a big story exactly.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
It's a cool moment, but not progressing the plot of
the universe massively forward as much as it is.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I was gonna say the only thing else I would
I would have mentioned there is one we get QUI
gone that's cool, mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Liam Neeson right, yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Yeah, yeah, Liam Neeson out, Liam.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Neeson, Yes, and you get Schmie Skywalker.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Yeah, Anakin gets shown kind of episode three, it looks like, and.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Then his memories and the original trilogy.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Yeah, so like he sees all that and then his
memory's wiped so he forgets it, but.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Plus one amnesia account.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Yeah, watching it now, I do like the world building
and the lore expanding. But if I probably would have
watched this when it was coming out, I would have
been like, what are they doing? Yeah, it's too much.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
He can't see that, right.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Yeah, well yeah, I would be pissed.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
The next arc, which is another one of the biggest
ones of the of the episode, we have the Citadel
and Citadel Rescue. The arc is called the Citadel. Essentially,
there's a there's a Jedi master that's been captured and
brought to a Jedi prison. So the notion of this
is actually interesting to me. There's a prison that's meant
to hold Jedi and correct me if I'm wrong, Like,
(19:50):
it wasn't just built by the separatists. It was built
a while ago for Jedi who go rogue or breakaway
from the from the Order.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Yeah, yeah, I think that's how they explained it.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
But it just happens to be on a planet that
is now under separatist control and they're using it to
this Jedi hostage. The Jedi, who, by the way, has
very important like hyperspace route information that they need in
order to win the war. So another mcguffin or whatever
that you gotta go try it. So they get there
and you realize he only has half of it. His
(20:22):
captain has the other half. I'm sorry. They get there,
Obi Wan and Anakin and some clones are going to
go break him out of there. Ahsoka stows away, his
Anakin told her to stay behind. They go there and
to rescue the Jedi Master. They get him out, find
out Helia has half the information, so they have to
also rescue his captain who has the other half. Breaking
(20:42):
out of the prison and trying to escape, the Jedi
Master dies and gives the information to Ahsoka. The captain
is Tarkan. Yeah, he's Captain Tarkan right now. Eventually he
will be Grand Moth Tarkan, we know from that great
movie Rogue One.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Which it gives me a lot of gives me a
lot of questions about the republic structure, because at.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
What point can clones no longer rise and.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
What point does it become political appointees because clearly, like
I don't.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Know, it's it's interesting to make a big conversation to happen. Yes, yes, yeah,
but I'm.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Right there with you wondering one of those things as well.
And then the last arc for the last couple episodes
season is called Chewbacca returns.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Yeah even though this is his first this is his
first time.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
Yeah World Shrinking episode one. Yeah, you're right, Chewbacca returns,
but this is the first time we ever see Chubaka.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yeah due season three would have been better to leave
these last couple of episodes.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Yeah yeah. So we go back to Felusha for another
battle on Felusha, which now I think we've gone back
there every season. Ahsoka gets kidnapped and dropped on this
planet where these Trandosans are hunting Jedi youngling for sport.
She finds three or four other one three I think, yeah,
three other Jedi young lings, and they're gonna try and
(22:03):
revolt and get off this island and beat the Transitions.
Eventually another prisonership comes they take over the ship. There's
only one prisoner. It's a Wookie just happens to bea
Chewbacca who just happened to get captured by these Transdosans
and brought here for hunt.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
And then Chewbacca gets captured a lot apparently this Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Yeah, but they escape and basically it's just a it's
another demonstration of a lesson that Ahsoka learns to take
care of herself and everything that Anakin taught her she
has with her and boost her confidence and there's a
learning experience for her. And that's season three.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Yeah. Interesting.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
I can I ask you, guys if there's anything I
miss but I guarantee you there I did mistakes.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
The only thing I was gonna mention because I know Chris,
you and I are or were the gamers of this.
Did you did you did you get excited about Delta
Squad or did you see why I would get a
quite about the Delta Squad from Star Wars Republic Commandos
the video game. Those bulky looking Clone Troopers come out
of that ship. Oh yes, Delta Squad from the video game. Okay,
and that that canonizes those guys, and I'll know. And
(23:08):
if you guys never played Star Wars Public Commando, you
absolutely should. It's one of the best Star Wars games
out there. You get to play an elite Republic Commando
unit during the Clone Wars like there you go. Then
you get to like lead and charge them. It's an old,
old original Xbox game, but it's been remastered. I'm sure
we probably get it on PS five now, Yeah, probably.
But when I saw them, I and the best part
(23:30):
about it was like, I don't know if they refer
to him as Delta Squad, but like if you know,
you know, kind of moment like when he came to
Oh wow, that's Delta Squad. Like that's how my reaction
was to it. Thought was really cool ation. But yeah, no,
that was out of all the out of all the
crazy cameos and stuff we saw, Dela Squad was one
of the more surprising ones for me.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
Everything's been said, and I think we need to move
into our certain points of view.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
You're going to find that many of the foods we
cling to depend rickly.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
On our own point of view.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Let's let's talk about the first arc and then skip
the other ones and move on and just talk about
the good stuff here.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah. No, this this is definitely the hottest and coldest
season for me so far. The things that I were good,
I really liked, and I was like, this is this
is Star Wars. And then the things I watched, I
was like, yeah, this is Star Wars, but this is
like the other part of Star Wars that you know
sometimes you don't really I guess with Clone Wars, I'm
when I'm watching Clone Wars, I'm in the mood to
(24:29):
watch the war. Yeah, you know, so I'm not looking.
I mean, I don't mind the political discourse, but like,
I'm not looking, like I pointed out, because it's just
a standpoint of me. At one point, I was like,
I've been watching R two, D two and C three
po shop for an episode almost and although those are
charming characters and they have a place in Star Wars,
it contributed to my like, Okay, this is you know,
(24:50):
we're goenn't we get into the fights?
Speaker 2 (24:53):
No, are you watching any of this with your kids?
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Not the majority of this season? No, they they they
are yeared up for Skeleton Crew. And I know that
my my youngest two are currently through season two of
it again because they watch season one with me in
a little bit of season two, so they're trying to
catch it with me because they do want to watch
season four with me.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
I'm just curious if those ones are tracking well for them.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
Oh, I would imagine not. They want to they want
to the action.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Do I think some of the overly political stuff.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Has it has its place, Like like if I'm watching TikTok,
right and you just see like a compilation of Padme
saying all of her big lines and all of these episodes,
that it serves well and it builds her character, but
it's not. It's almost like the problem with the arc
style of doing these shows where I think we talked
(25:45):
about it in Mando, right, We're going through Mando and
then you cut away for that entire other episode where
you're going to Cursan, where if that would have been
sprinkled throughout the whole show, that could have been great.
So if we have all the action and then you're
cutting away to Padme doing some of this other stuff
or all of these other episodes and had a restructured
maybe it's less hot and cold. But yeah, you've just
(26:05):
kind of got to fight through some of those episodes.
And I hope there's people out here here who are
saying those action packed episodes you guys like are terrible,
and I love these these other ones.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
You know, hopefully there's something for everybody there.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
But yeah, yeah, I just think this season in particular
was a big Okay, well, we got a fill a season.
What can we do here? Oh, let's have this happen
to padme. This makes no sense, but we're gonna do
it anyway. Let's have this senator do the same thing
that happen in the Phantom Menace. Let's bring back these,
Let's bring back.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Chewbacca, Greedo, Tarkin, Greto. Yeah, Greedo is ridiculous. Grito is
the worst out of all. Yeah, Like, there's no reason
for Greedo to be there.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Like, I like the idea of Greedo being in Phantom Menace,
like in the if you've seen the deleted scenes there
where he's like the one beating up Anakin or whatever.
The kitt and his friend, right, I think there was
another one with Greedo, like a little kid Grito.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
What wasn't Greedo the supposed to be the Rodin that
was like the friend with wasn't wasn't supposed to be
the other one.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
I mean, all creatures look look.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Everyone, they all look alike. Uh No, I think this
goes very well with my three season show trope.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
Yeah right, good God, here we go.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Good right? Season two was wow, like this is we
got something here and kind of expanded and introduced a
couple of new characters. Okay, great, well can we have
a season three. Let's just bring in everybody from this
universe and let's just everyone's gonna show up, because this
is Star Wars now, just like it's it's my Aero trope.
This is Aero season three.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
It's not as perfect of a translation as Mando, but
it's that one.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
The other thing like not even people they brought back,
like carbon freeze. Yeah, and also that that that's like
antinuity breaking because now Vader knows what carbon free is
is and that it works, he doesn't need to test
it it. It makes sense in the Mandalorian because that's after
the fact, like yeah, yeah, well if walking around bracking everybody, yeah,
(28:13):
you just praise him with carbon and it's great.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
But yeah, this doesn't make any sense at all. They
just kind of they pulled it just to make the reference.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
I think one of the things I was like, SE's
do is great because there's no Chargia and then they
immediately bring back Jarge. I was like, all right, okay,
maybe you know the characters that I do see that
I like, I want to see Morissage ventures. Uh, quinnlan
vaugh you know you know, and I you know, I
got a saw spotital two characters obviously some I'm gonna
always want to see them. Why bring Grido in Tarkin?
I guess it's cool, It's fine, you know. Did I
(28:43):
really need to know that they had an established relationship before?
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Not really, there's a whole book about it now, but no,
it's it was early in the New Cannon.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Yeah, so like there's a whole book about them working
together on something Anakin's targets, So they have a relationship together.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
I like that notion that they would kind of tease
that they would know of each other and have like
that one that one.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Fits for me.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
That makes sense because he would need to be somewhere
right now to be as high up as he is
in a New Hope kind of like what you're talking
about Joey with uh how do people move up? And
they're like the same thing with you, Lauren. Yeah, it
makes sense that these would be the guys that would
be high up in the empire.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
They have an opportunity to introduce a lot of like
new characters, and they do that. But you know, we
got we got we got Savage o press uh Clone
ninety nine. You know, we got all these like, you know,
interesting character clone man you know, uh like they had
an opportunity for that, and it just seemed like some
(29:43):
of the some of the cameos just I don't know,
mayb maybe just a little old curmudget here. Some of
the cameos are like, oh, come on, guys, come.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
On, size noodles. That was another one that like.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Why oh wait till you get to bad Batch.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
I don't know if you know who you guys know
size stools right for the people.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
If anybody doesn't, then you should listening to the wrong show.
Get out of here if you don't.
Speaker 1 (30:05):
And it's the singer from Return of the Jedi, Yeah,
and its impression zero the Hut's girlfriend.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Oh man, yeah zero.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yeah. I never needed to see a hut and whatever
that creature is.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Uh yeah, yeah, I never Yeah you did. This is
a kid show.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Yeah, they're making out.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
Master, I'm gonna die.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I thought you mentioned jar Jar.
Speaker 1 (30:31):
I thought it was really funny when they say, oh,
the representative from Naboo can go and negotiate this, and
Belle or gud was like, why do I need to go?
Padme is a great negotiator, Like, no, not pad Me.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Yeah, is the season bad? No, you know, I think
some of the most memorable episodes of the show probably,
so yeah, it's not a bad season. It's just like
I don't know, man, I don't know. It just it
just it just felt like they were doing a little
too much. Less is more sometimes and every character doesn't
(31:05):
need to be connected some way because if you know,
I know, we always joke about small villains too, because
we all met through a small podcast. But like by
the end of the show, it was like his whole
world was like four people. Everyone knew everyone and everyone
did everything. You know, say, everyone knew everything, and it's
just like, yeah, Seatene, best friend of Padme, ex lover
of everyone, also h simpling to Sabine who you know.
(31:28):
It's like it's just everyone's starting to get connected and
know each other.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
You have done this, Mark if you would have done
something else where, Satin and pad made meet and this
is where they get a relationship because they cross paths
here and then later they could have kept touching.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Neandlor.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
That could have been any random planet that Ahsoka had
to intervene on.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Yeah, like they could have just met and because they
have similar ideals, hit it off. They'd have to like
be established as like, yeah, what's up. It's like, oh, okay,
so you get to be with your Jenni, but I
don't get the deal with mine? Got it? You know.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
It's like we've ragged on it a bit to start.
Let's talk about what our favorite arcs are. Joeyugle first,
what's your what's your favorite arc of the season?
Speaker 4 (32:09):
For me, it's got to be where Douku Venturous Savage
that I think how many episodes was that felt like
it was more than three.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
I could be right, it could be just.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
It was three episodes. It was Night Sisters, Monster and
Witches of the Mist.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Okay, I felt even longer. But it just that's one
of my favorites.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
That's I liked how Palpatine's just like your your apprentices
getting to your assassin's getting too strong, You're getting a
little too attached here, move on.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
Yeah, I like I like that one as a notion,
But I have questions about the execution. Yeah, like, okay,
so one, does Duku really think she's dead there? Or
does he just not care? Like is he saying I'm
done with her telling Palpatin no, she's dead? And then
not worrying about it because he's not going to be
training her anymore, and I could be using here. So
even if she's still out there, she doesn't really you
(32:57):
really thinks she's dead from that.
Speaker 4 (32:59):
Ship it up and it shows dukes like a crummy
syth too, like at some point you could have just
like lied to Palpatine like yeah, and told.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Her like you're going to be you know more and
secret and hiding.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
We're gonna like he doesn't seem like he actually like
wants to take Palpatine down one day.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
He's just you know, I think that that's what That's
a great establishing point of this episode of this uh,
the book Douku Lost, and then also how he ultimately
ends up in Revenge of the Sith. He has no
aspirations to be a true Sith lord. He's happy in
his position being the apprentice, being to number two.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
He's a political idealist, like he just.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
Cares about the like he cares about the political corruption
the the republic, what the republic should be, and the
dark Side is his avenue to achieving that, not necessarily
that he gives.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
The Sith.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
In that arc, uh, he is portrayed as an InCred
powerful sith though. Yeah, and it's really funny to see
that and then watch and just know his fate. Like
the fight that he dies in, it goes to.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Show you he he is very powerful. I mean, look
at he took end of attack of the Clones. Yeah,
he's very powerful, and he was help a team is
more powerful.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah, that's that's that.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
This this all as strong as Duku is and everything
he shows here with the force lightning and his ability
to you know, see what's going on and do what
he has to do. For as good as he is,
there's someone better.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Yep. I'm I'm I'm surprised, Joey, he said, because I
was certain it was going to be the Mortis arcs,
because I was gonna say this was mine.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
I thought he was gonna say the first arc the
Clone Cadet.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Oh, yeah, yeah, mine was. I I'm I'm into all
the witchy stuff in Star Wars. I love all the stuff.
I love the Witches of daf Mar, I love Douku.
How much I've read and learned about douk Wu was
more than I ever thought I would. But he's a
really interesting, kind of complex character. As you're kind of
getting into there Chris and his relationship with Massage and
(35:06):
his relationship to Palpatine and his reasons for why he
wants to be I guess a sith if he even
kind of calls himself bad, I guess I'm sure he does,
but like, yeah, he kind of just he thinks this
is what he has to do to get what he
wants done done. He's not like Palpatine who wants to
just kind of rule everything. But since Joey you went
with that one, I guess I go with the uh
(35:27):
with the Mortis arcs with with with the Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit and the daughter went back
to my chirst days there for a second. No super cool,
red lightning looks awesome. You know, we joke about Ahsoka
in THEHSOCA show. Dave Filoney has shoehorned his character into
the importance. And it's fine because she's a good character
and we like her. But man, if you were not
(35:47):
a fan of Ahsoka back then during this you probably
were livid because she.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Is, you'd be living now because essentially, if you're just
watching The Clonde Wars and see what happened, Okay, she
she dies and and gets to live again. Yeah, you
don't get the notion that she is the daughter now, right?
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Yeah? I only thought that now because of the Ahsoka show.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Because of the Aha show and where they're leading in
season two.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
Yeah, and so she's about to be the most important
in Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Yeah, Like you said this, this was good.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
I don't like when they do too much of it,
like the showing Anakin his whole future and then saying
that these guys are so powerful they they control the
balance of the entire galaxy. That kind of stuff kind
of turns me off a little bit. I think it's
too much. But but rewatching it again here, Like I
really bought into it a lot more now because of
the Ahsoka show and where it's going. So are we
(36:40):
to understand that moving forward because we're going to get
there Anakin is the father, Ahsoka is the daughter. And
then now who takes the place of the Sun Is
that Balen? I don't know, and they've already said there
are They're like asking for the mother Abala or whatever.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Yeah, scary, that's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
I'm very interested see where this Phsoka show goes. After
watching this mortars arky.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
End, maybe maybe they bring time traveling and race skywalkers
and bring balance.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Luke can come back from the dead and he'll be
the son and there we go. Ahsoka did Why can't Luke?
Speaker 1 (37:27):
Well, like it makes sense though in the in the
realm that you can't have Anakin be the father now
in Clone Wars and keep balanced by staying on Mortis. Yeah,
because then the whole story now that he is a
force ghost and the one with the Force, he can
take that. Yeah, he could take that role.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Oh yeah, that's how we're gonna get Hayden in see Okay,
I got you. No dude, Look man, we just saw
the war between worlds and time traveling, so that's all.
That's all fair game now. But just bring Luke back.
Speaker 2 (37:56):
Please please do time travel. Do not do more time.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Travel, not even all the time travel.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
I don't want time travel.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
That's just me.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
I don't want that in Star Wars only.
Speaker 2 (38:07):
I'm okay with.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
A Christmas story, that Christmas story, a Christmas Carol type
of time travel, like let's just go pop in and watch,
you know, let's just let's go.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
That's when you did that. It's like a vision. It's
like you're not actually traveling. There and affecting it.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Just imagine, just imagine Luke is sitting there on that rock,
getting ready to force project himself across the galaxy, and
then Ahsoka just appears and they know each other because
we've seen the meet now and she's like, hey, Luke,
don't do that. He's like, you're right, and then like
the whole series is different.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Now you're trying to fix a movie that you tell
us all the time is good and I love it.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Oh no, the Last Jedi is my last jam but
but yeah, no, I just want to see Luke Skywalker back.
Well yeah, no, Chris, what about you, man? I know,
we took to the two probably better ones, which one.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
I think I kind of show my hand already. But
I really like the Citadel, Yeah okay. I like the
planning that went into it where they had to go
into carbon freeze so that they wouldn't be detected as
having life forms on board.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
I like that.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
I like the idea that they reprogrammed battle droids to
be like R two D two's commandos. I thought that
was I just like the idea of it. I like
I like that kind of like siege undercover behind enemy
line stuff. I really wonder why did they bring clones
so that they I honestly think they brought clones so
that they could die off here and there. And I
(39:30):
also think the show doesn't do a very good job
of how many or who's there, because I think you
have like Cody and Rex are there, but at some
times you'll have like three or four left. Other times
it'll look like there's only one left in shots that
should be like the whole group towards the end, in
the later episodes, like in Countertack, Instand it All Rescue
like towards the end. I think they're just meant to
(39:50):
be like putties, like expendable.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
And here and there.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
But yeah, I know, I love that. I love that
that they break out, They break the Jedi out, Evan
Peel owned. They have to go find Tarkan because he
has the other half of the information they can escape,
so they have to get rescued, but the rescue can
only get to them at a certain point.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
It's I love the stakes of it. Yeah, I thought
I thought it was good overall. I have opinions on
the Tarkan do should we have this conversation now? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Oh my gosh, I and I've read the Tarkan book,
and it's so far away that I don't remember all
of the back background. I just want to know more
about is there a place where clones and non clones
can coexist in the Imperial Military at like certain like
I just want to know more.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
I my my guess would be is that clones can't
rise to leadership roles like they can command their own
platoons and empathetic, I would think they would not tar
here Captain Captain Rex, like is this different?
Speaker 2 (40:52):
It's I just I have so many questions.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
I don't understand I was under I was any impression
that after after the Clone Wars ended, they like decommissioned
the clones target.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
So that's why in bad Batch, Tarking kind of leads
the charge there.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
Yeah, and that's why like you see like homeless Clone
vets all over the place and stuff, because like like that,
I know, I know the term of a homeless vet
coming from a veteran doesn't sound like like I love
that detail. I don't like that they're homeless vets, but
I love the detail that, like the clones still live
lives and some of them become like become homeless after.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
The military knowing what we know about the Empire, I'm
shocked that they didn't just like suicide squad, flip the
switch and have the chip in their head explode and
then they'd be done. I'm surprised that they let them
like go on to be storms or other parts, just
like free citizens.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
Even stranger. I don't understand why the Empire would get
rid of clones in general.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
No, keep using them, right, Yeah, you control.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
Them because you want to buy in, you want you
want people sitting there saying, well, Johnny is off at
war protecting our empire.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Yeah, you want that guy. And I guess the clones
were technically the clones are technically a part of the
old Republic, like that was their guys, and if the
Empire probably doesn't wan anything to do with those guys
optically speaking, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
Yeah, Well, and he.
Speaker 3 (42:19):
Was like, you guys need to get away. We need
to recruit our own people, you know.
Speaker 4 (42:22):
And then you can already see kind of some of
the political turmoil that's causing because there are they are
treating the military in this as just an object and
something we can buy and more of you know, do
that where I think they wanted.
Speaker 3 (42:34):
To get that about Star Wars right now No Wars.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
And they wanted to add that more personal element.
Speaker 4 (42:43):
They want people hanging imperial flags like our buddy from
uh Kenobi.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
We want that guy.
Speaker 6 (42:51):
Need a little bit more order, yeah, you know, and
and having people that he goes down to the to
the cantina with, you know that that he's he's rooting for.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
Yeah, okay, yeah, you know Luke wanted to join the
Imperial military.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
Han Solo did, Yeah, yeah, Sol did, Han did, yeah
yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:13):
Just I did answer my own question about Tarkan though
he was in his own planets military met Palpatine. Palpatine
appointed him as governor of his own his own planet,
and then when the Clone Wars started, he pulls him
back in. I may have butchered that, so please correct
me if I get something wrong. But then Palpatine pulled
(43:35):
him back into the military because he's like I kind
of seeing thee what he wanted and just kind of
bringing somebody in that he aligned with.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
Well.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
Also, I love the I feel like Tarkian Invader have
that like Gordon and Batman relationship, like at the like,
do you know who I really am? I don't know.
Maybe who cares. None of us acknowledge it.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
We just move on, all right, So we can we
get to my random notes.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
Yes, yeah, I know what you got random notes. Let's
do it.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
All right, So I'll go chronologically. I like in the
Clone Cadets episode, how they kind of explain how some
of the clones have I guess defects or different personnelity
or different things like that. How they mentioned that they've
used Django Fat's DNA so much that they don't get
the same results as they did when they initially and
(44:27):
it also gave them reason why they wanted to keep
him around, so they continue getting like fresh DNA. So
I love that explanation. That's why you get like ninety
nine Yeah, or you get some of the bad badge
or et cetera. O. I like that explanation. Yeah, moving
on to the next one. So let's talk about what's
the name King Katunko from toy Daria.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
Yeah, I think that's exactly right.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
He's in the first ever episode of the show on
that that episode where Yoda has to prove that the
Republic can defend him to be part of the Republic.
Then he comes back earlier this season to debate whether
or not the Republic can use toy Daria as a
platform to give relief to Rylov because they want to
(45:13):
stay neutral. And then later on in The Witches of
the Mist, he's just randomly assassinated by Savajo Press. This dude.
They just keep bringing back this dude for like random stuff. Okay,
we have a storyline to feel, let's give it to
the King of toy Daria. He could do it.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
Yeah, seems like not anymore. But I'm just glad we
didn't use Watto as a random cameo.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
Not yet, right, I feel.
Speaker 4 (45:40):
Like Watto is one of those characters that I'm so
surprised we haven't gotten. I don't feel like he's appeared
anywhere outside of the two movies. I feel like any
other named character like that has had something where they
kind of like mention them.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
Again, was he in the Padme books?
Speaker 2 (45:55):
I don't think outside of his Oh maybe.
Speaker 1 (46:00):
When when Sabe was back on the planet trying to
free slaves.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
You know, Okay, I think I think you're right.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Then, I think that's not a show that's anyway in
the sphere of influence.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
Episode.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
I love the line that Padme says to Anakin. I
still can't believe that they let you teach, she said
to him.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
I thought that was funny.
Speaker 1 (46:21):
Assassin episode. So they all go to alder On. Padme
is giving a speech, Ahsoka is getting visions that someone's
gonna kill Padme. Padme has a line at some point
where she's like, I'm a friend to the Jedi. I'm
no stranger to taking risks, and I just want to
know are you. You're a friend to the Jedi and
in the ways that everybody is a friend of the Jedi.
(46:41):
You're a senator that works with them, and I know
you're secretly married to one, but.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
Yeah, that's more of that's more of you know who
my husband is.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Yeah, but also being a friend of the Jedi, what
does that mean you're into taking risks? Jedi don't take
risks on a whole. Yeah, they're uh, their books are cooked,
they have an edge, they know what they're doing, they
have powers. It's a little different.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
I just let she said that.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
And also in that episode, how come Zero the Hut
is like the only Hut that speaks basic.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Yeah, I don't know that that.
Speaker 1 (47:17):
The entire council speaks hutties. Java speaks at Why why
is zero out here?
Speaker 2 (47:23):
Just amokie eat English?
Speaker 3 (47:26):
I don't know, but zero?
Speaker 1 (47:31):
Oh god? Speaking of the Zero arc, how about the
idea that C three P and R two D two
are going to be tempted to not complete the task
that they've been assigned because they can go to a
droid SPA.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Yeah, dude, Like.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
They're not humans, They're they're assigned. I know they have
like personality quirks and stuff, like they're going to bars,
like oh my god, and like can they feel pain
because they're getting electrocuted and like, ah, like.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
I feel pain and and and if you did, and
if you programmed the droid to feel pain, why yeah,
to give them pain? Oh man?
Speaker 1 (48:24):
Uh the Pursuit of Peace episode where they have the
droid suicide bombing and stuff. Padme just I have a
note that Padme sucks. I'm gonna say it. Padme and
the Clone War show sucks. And she's one of my
favorite characters. I love Natalie Portman, I love Padme. This
this show just does her no no good. Yeah, like
(48:49):
to the point where like they're offing senators or beating
cenators up in the streets and she just decides to
take a walk off on her own under the danger,
the current present danger. There's no way that would happen.
Padme has never gone anywhere by herself. She has all
these handmaids that pretend to be her, she has royal security,
(49:10):
she has Jedi bodyguards. She never goes anywhere by herself.
But in this she just happens to walk down the
street by herself and get attacked. And I had a
note based on our last discussion, my skin award I
wanted to give to Masamta and his conversation with Palpatine
in this episode, totally in on it. It's confirmed he
knows what's going on. He's totally in on it. So
(49:31):
I just want to clear that up. Do we count
all of Savajo Press's attacks as monster attacks because they
keep calling him a monster? The answer is no, But
I just want to make them make the choke of it.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
That's good. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
I liked in the Mortis arc when in the in
the middle on the alter of Mortis, Obi Wan is
in just Jedi ropes. He's not wearing his general gear.
I thought that that was an interesting thing to put
him in when you're trying to be force specific.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
I didn't even notice.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
Yeah, yeah, I just.
Speaker 1 (50:05):
Happened to I just happen to catch out he doesn't
have his normal like general gear.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
He's wearing like ropes.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
And then less in the Ghosts of Mortis when the
son dies because the dad, the father dies, which takes
away the power from the sun. If the father dying
takes the power away from the sun, why did they
need Anakin to come there in the beginning to control
the two of them if him dying takes the power away.
Speaker 3 (50:32):
I don't know, actually, yeah, because he was calling him
because he was dying and he wanted someone to take
his place to.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
Keep balance over.
Speaker 3 (50:40):
Daughter in check.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
But then in the end, the way they defeat him
is the father dies and.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Then the son dies. Yeah, I don't know, I don't know.
Maybe maybe.
Speaker 1 (50:51):
And then my last note about all this is just
like the music of the season was good. I think,
like you mentioned, there's there's imperial undertones when Anakin and
Tarkian are together. The music in the clone episodes is
great just overall, and the way they weave it in
and out is Yeah.
Speaker 4 (51:07):
The music in this show is leaves a lot to
be desired and rebels where rebels, they're just like reusing
things all the time, but this one they actually did
scores for all of these seasons and episodes and things.
Speaker 1 (51:20):
Any other thoughts, gentlemen, or we should we consult the
Jedi Council for a ruling.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
No, man, let's rule and give us some awards.
Speaker 2 (51:28):
I must speak with the Jedi Council imediately.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
The situation has become much more complicated.
Speaker 2 (51:34):
All right, I'm at a restaurant and I'm still looking
at the menu. So I'll go last.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
I'll go first. I'm going to give an apprentice. I
don't think the sum of its parts is enough to
give a master rating. I think there are master points
in it, but overall, I'm gonna give the season an apprentice.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
Man, you know what I was gonna say, a master,
because I can't toubt how much I assage Menus and
Quinland Voss and did not give when I finally and
Delta Squad like like. The things that I liked, I
really liked, but things that I didn't care for, I
just really didn't care for. And uh, if I want
to have any integrity in my Disney shilling, I need
to go ahead and says it's an apprentice. So but
(52:16):
we all know. Joseph.
Speaker 2 (52:18):
Yeah, I think I'm I think I'm gonna go Master.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
Yeah, there we go. Thank you for fixing to.
Speaker 2 (52:25):
Take some time wiling energy.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
If I was going to show somebody one episode of
Clone Wars and say this show is awesome, there's like.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Five of those episodes in this season.
Speaker 4 (52:35):
Like, if you want to get the gist of what
Clone Wars is, there was a handful of episodes and
arcs that I could point to and say, this is
what the show is and it's awesome.
Speaker 1 (52:47):
I I don't disagree. I agree that there are some
episodes of this that are fantastic and exactly what you
think of.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
For the show.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
Yeah, all right, handing out some awards, so many awards,
as we've been doing for the Clone Wars. We're each
nominating someone for every season and then we will hand
out actual awards to all of the nominees when we
get there at the end. So for our MVP votes,
(53:18):
who are we nominating for m VP for the season.
Speaker 3 (53:22):
I'm gonna go Anakin, Okay, just his importance in the
arc and in the Motus arc and yeah, no, I
mean like just Anakin. Yeah, I'm just gonna go with
Anakin you got jo.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
I'm gonna go with Dooku.
Speaker 4 (53:39):
This show really builds him up and what his character is,
and I think this season shows a lot of that.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
And I'm gonna go with Soka. Okay, Yeah, I think
that we see a lot of her growth. I think
she shines in a lot of places. Where in the
past she tended to fail or be kind of like
the butt of the joke or the the yeah, like
the the lynchpin for whatever goes wrong in the episode,
the opposite is true for this season. She tends to
(54:06):
be the same and Grace. She tends to be the
one that that saves the day. And they ended the
whole season on Ahsoka centric two episode arc.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (54:16):
That establishes her as as confident and.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
It feels like this is becoming her show, right Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
I mean.
Speaker 1 (54:27):
All right, uh, there are a lot of opportunities for
this next one. But who are we going to give
the comeback Award to?
Speaker 4 (54:36):
I'm gonna go Sam, whitwere he had come can't breaking
out of the scene in the Force Unleashed video games?
Speaker 2 (54:45):
And then he was gone and then he comes back
as the character everybody now remembers him for in Star
Wars The Sun a second.
Speaker 1 (54:55):
I think it's funny because he's not only been the Sun,
he's been Mal, he's also been Palpatine.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (55:01):
But like I remember, I was sitting there building my
Clone turbo tank watching this season of Star Wars about
four years ago, and I was like, holy crap, what's
Sam Whitworre. That's so exciting that he's back at Star Wars.
How neat and I had no idea what was coming next.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
I can't voting about you.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
Well, we can't. We can't say Chewbacca because that was
his first time.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
I think you can't.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
Can we go with with with with Mal? Can we
go with Sam Witward's other character He hasn't.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
Come back yet though, Well we saw him your.
Speaker 3 (55:31):
Brother is alive and we saw him in the Little
Yeah that's solid.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
Yeah, and he's still eligible next season too.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
Yeah, he's a red shirt. He's a red shirt return
right now.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
You're eligible for awards as many times you want. Tally
board were a little more strict done. I'm gonna go
with Dooku. Okay, I know he's he's like a main
character in the show, but he he does It's like
pick and choose when he comes back. I think Grievous
and Venturous and even Palpatine are a lot more than
(56:01):
him around, and he like originally came from episode two
before the.
Speaker 2 (56:05):
Show, So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
I'm gonna give him. I think for the reasons you
wanted him to be m VP, i'd give him the comeback.
Who are the nominees for the Rookie of the Season award?
Speaker 3 (56:16):
Savage o Press? For me, yeah, I'm I thought you.
Speaker 1 (56:18):
Were gonna go Quinland, No man.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
I Quinlan did have. Seeing Quinland and cad Baine fight
was a treat for me because that's cool. But uh
no do Savage Press took out two jet like he
seems legit.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
I don't even want to argue because I think that well, no, no,
I'll go Night Sisters. This is our first entry in
canon for witches.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
Let's say you gotta get him those Jedi games man,
You'll be you'll you'll be sick of the Night Sisters,
and I'll go Tarkan. Oh yeah, that's a good one.
Speaker 1 (56:50):
Chewbaccaca returned, sure we can have it for like solo.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
Yeah, even though he said yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:02):
Okay, who are your weight Oar nominees ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (57:08):
I'm a gun die and I was gonna say ninety
nine too, but uh, you know, just just just just
for the means Jedi Master. I'm a Gundy, I'm a Gunda.
Speaker 1 (57:21):
I had him done to but I not. It's even
more now that I know what the name is. Yeah,
I'll say Evan Peel Master Jedi as.
Speaker 4 (57:31):
We just like talk about ninety nine for five seconds
because we missed that. Yeah, oh my gosh. No, I
was just I was crying on the on the StairMaster
at the gym.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
I was I'm not gonna life.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
So ninety nine was one of the he was a
mistake clone cadet, who nobody's a mistake. Well, he had
defects and he couldn't he couldn't pass the test or anything.
So he stayed around in the training facility as like
a janitor support and he a Domino squad. When they
were falling apart and about to fail, he kind of
inspired them to and he.
Speaker 2 (58:04):
Just was like no, and I was bred for battle,
and he just he just like walked right in. He
was he wanted it. You got what Lieutenant Dan wanted.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
Yeah, and then he ended up sacrificing himself later on
to save them.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Mhm, And it was said, yeah, pour one out.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
All right, skiing award for the season. Who is our
who do we hate?
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Slice Slice Noodles as I'm saying, gonna say her name right,
Sie Noodles, Sie Noodles, Sie Noodles, first of all for
making me watch a hut and her species kiss, and
second of all because she actually betrayed Zero.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
That's a lock for me. Man, that's enough.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
Well that was Joyce. You gotta pick somebody else.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
I was gonna say, Well, can't be Loucks because Lux
hasn't technically done.
Speaker 2 (58:48):
He's zero too.
Speaker 3 (58:50):
Yeah no, Zero, dude, Yeah, Zero deserves every award that
says he's not cool. Zero. The Huts very lame, Chris.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
I'm gonna go padme. Oh.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
I just disliked her character so much this season. And
it's such a stark contrast for me because I'm rooting
for everywhere else.
Speaker 3 (59:10):
It's like the reverse for like, like how like Clone
Wars made Anakin and Obi weent, Not that they were
like hate it in the prequels, but like how elevated
their characters so much. It's like they're kind of reversing
that with Padme a bit like Natalie Portman portrayed like
a very strong, level headed, like mature leader. She's not
that y.
Speaker 1 (59:27):
It's like they took the few negative things that are
gonna come and Revenge of the Sith for her and
just basically that's her whole.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
Well then, hey, I guess it's like I guess it's
on Park. Guess is Canon. It's like when you compare
Luke and Anakin in their first appearances, they're kind of very,
kind of whiny and similarly like, oh wait, maybe that
was a choice. Maybe he's just like his dad. A
little bunch.
Speaker 1 (59:48):
All right, to the tally board, we have uh plus
two for Canon Immigrants, the Delta squad that we were
talking about that came from the Republic Comando games. And
we have the a new buzz which are those like
dog monster like things on the Citadel planet that attack
(01:00:08):
and end up killing Evan Peel. Those are from the
older pulb games. Okay, yeah, so plus two brings us
to fifty two and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Okay, Ken Immigrants.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
Droid Saves we have plus two, so episode eight we
have one for Archwo D two. Yeah, he essentially saves
C three Po by turning himself in because he overhears
he got away essentially, then he overhears that they're gonna
fry C three po and get rid of him if
if they don't catch Art to D two, So he
lets himself get caught. So I'd say that's a droid safer.
Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
He saved a they're gonna wipe his memory in front
of his friends.
Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
Well yeah, they did that anyway, but like just for
that one day or half a day, that's a whole
other conversation. And then another plus one for Archi D
two and his clone can Mandos for uh saving them
in the Citadel episode R.
Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
Two D two and his clone Commando. This is a
funny thing to say.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
So so far for the Clone Wars, each season we've
had five plus five for I have a bad feeling
about this. This season we only get one.
Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
Oh really, what I went down? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Plus one for I have a bad feeling about this
one of the Mandalorian cadets.
Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
I was gonna I guess who said it?
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
I'm sorry cadet.
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
All right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
Plus one brings us to eighteen. I think this is
the one I forget about the most, so I apologize
them and say, anybody catch any lost limbs?
Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
No, all right, so may the Force be with you?
We have plus three. It's kind of narrow as to
who would say this. You can go ahead and guess that.
Who said may the Force be with you?
Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
Andakna to the to the Mandalorian cadets.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
No, obi Wan to Anakin, No, we got does Quinlandvoss somebody?
Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
We got it from shock t in the beginning.
Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Yeah, not that tract I'm a Gundy.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
Nope.
Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
We got it from plokun Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
In the.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Yeah he said it when they were going to do
the Citadel mission, gotcha, And also in that same arc,
we got it from Mace Windu.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
Okay, hey, Mace.
Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
Sin's a plus three, which brings us to thirty one.
Monster attacks We only had two all season. We had Narhuda.
When obi Wan and Quinlan are on the planet trying
to track zero the Hut, there's some random monster that
attacks obi Wan and Quinlan's like, come on, ob one,
hurry up, what are you doing? But literally getting attacked
by a monster that's good.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
And then the Anu buzz in.
Speaker 1 (01:02:51):
The Citadel episode that kill Evan Peel. Plus two brings
us to thirty four, a category that's been lacking for
a while. We got a plus two in the no category.
The Padawan says it when his Jedi master is brutally
murdered by Savajoh press on.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
That random planet.
Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
That'll do that, and Anakin says it when Ahsoka dies.
Yea plus two brings us to seven. We have a
plus three for no one's ever really gone and episode
seven or a Thing comes back. We thought her to
be dead. They even say they thought she was dead.
Episode fourteen we learned that Mall is still alive. We
(01:03:33):
thought he was dead. So plus one for that, and
episode sixteen for Ahsoka because she died and we thought
she was dead and then she came back. Yep, so
plus three equals nineteen. I have one pitfall that was
in episode twenty one where the Jedi youngling Khalifa. She
(01:03:54):
falls like from the top of a tree and now she's.
Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Still alive on Planet pollution.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
No on that that island planet where they're getting hunted on.
Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
Okay, okay, yeah, Now, every time every time he said Pallusia,
I thought of Belujjah, which is a compact veteran word
is scary.
Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
It was probably on purpose, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
Because because that was around of time that was that
that that offensive was happening.
Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
So yeah, yeah, I just think of playing that that
level on battle Front. That's one of the planets you
go a lot for the prequel.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
So that wraps up our Telly board.
Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
Nice is there? It just came.
Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
Is there a execute order sixty six anywhere?
Speaker 2 (01:04:42):
When Anakin sees his future? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
I don't think that's a great question, but I don't think.
Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
So he pulls his lightsaber up against the young Wing.
It counts.
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
Oh yeah, he did, he does. He does he.
Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
When he's having his vision, he sees youngling. He opened
his lightsaber turns on Execute Order sixteen six.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
That that is us seeing order sixty six.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Yeah. Episode seventeen, The Ghosts of.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
Mortis, Joey coming in from the bullpen with the say.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Hey, if Anakin's killing Younglings, I want to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
You heard that baseball reference coming one point to care
for a proper baseball reference. I'm learning there.
Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
You look at that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
So we have plus one for execute order sixty six,
which brings us to five. That's crazy and we have
not even got to order.
Speaker 3 (01:05:34):
Sixty six relat that's why it's funny. I guess it's
it's time for Star Wars joke.
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
Give it to us.
Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
My body is ready, Here.
Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
We go, Here we go, Anakin Skywalker. What was his
favorite game?
Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
Hid Racing?
Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
No, you would think so. It's actually The Floor's Lava.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Did you guys know that show like YouTube thing nowadays?
Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
Yeah, yeah, it's actually pretty cool. It's like a reality
contest show on Netflix.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
Lava.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Yeah, you gotta like as a team make your way across.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
My like my daycare, Like found this great thing.
Speaker 4 (01:06:16):
I thought it was the coolest thing I walked and though, yeah,
there's this new cartoon called The Floor's Lava, And I
had my first like back in my day, we just
like did that with our imaginations.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
We didn't need to show tell us the Lava.
Speaker 3 (01:06:27):
It's like the first time I saw professional Tag. Yeah,
and I remember thinking, you guys are way too talented
to be wasting it on this. You can do so
much else than play tag.
Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
Hey, but you know what, it's like that Olympian It's
like that flag football quarterback that says that Patrick Mahomes
can't do what he does.
Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Patrick Mahomes doesn't need to do what you do man.
So hopefully that's hopefully our Wars joke. Everybody would what
a nice little Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
All right, so we've gotten about what for through the
Clone Wars TV show.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Yeah, we're making progress.
Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
Unfortunately, it's time to take a break because Yeap Skeleton
Crew is coming out.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
I'm sure that's going to be a well received and
much loved television show.
Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
And Star Wars.
Speaker 4 (01:07:15):
I hope that the hate watchers, like the people who
are gonna like, just enjoy the holidays with your family.
Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
Man. Just like when the trailer came out, I went
to my oldest and I say, hey, Bud, it's a
dimmer favor. I was like, watch this trailer and just
let me know how it lands on you. And he
watched the trailer and he was like, oh, that's Star Wars.
I was like yeah. He's like, well, one, it doesn't
really remind me of Star Wars. He's like, but he's like,
but it doesn't like something that I would like to watch.
(01:07:42):
It was like a fun show, so I'm just like, Okay,
we'll see it. Felt like I think I joke on
the College of Guardians of the Guardians of the Star
Wars like it kind of feels like.
Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
Like mixed with stranger things.
Speaker 3 (01:07:55):
Yeah, you know, so we'll see how it goes. I
got a man rush on Jude Law, so you know
I'm down for that.
Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
So whatever, I was just fun, nonconsequential, like yeah, change
Star Wars what the apple was?
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Yes, just just be a fun story in Star Wars.
You don't need to change the lore or create characters
who are bring in characters that shouldn't have been brought
into a shift.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Tell a little story in suburban Star Wars. That's that's
what I need.
Speaker 3 (01:08:22):
Yeah, that's where i'd be at. I live in the
suburbs of Star Wars. Yeah, I live in the suburbs
in this country. Might live in suburbs star Wars.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
Well, I think that's it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:08:32):
So until then, May the forest be with you.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
