Speaker 1 (00:00):
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Welcome to Always Hold on to Star Wars, because just
what the Internet needed for the podcast talking about Star Wars.
I'm on your ls keV and today I am only
joined by one of ours themed panel here, mister Chris,
how you doing. Hello there, Joey is taking some of
that great PTO family leave. You may know he did
drop a hint something was happening, a good thing happening

(01:00):
in one of the previous episodes. Everyone's doing great, and
just uh Joey will be back. He'll be back in
time for and or Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, no one's
missing and or so. But yeah, uh so we are back.
And unfortunately, I guess I need to say the reason
Joey's not here in this episode is actual kind of
my fault because this recording was supposed to happen a
few days ago, but tornadoes decided to ravage my neighborhood

(01:24):
so we could not record. And uh so, timing has
been a little whack. I appreciate you guys and patience,
but I'm in the new house now and I'm never
moving again.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I know that feeling. I've moved a lot in my life,
so like over the like the last over a ten
year period, I think I moved like five or six
times between a couple apartments, into a house, into another house,
and it's the same thing. I never want to move again.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I told the kids the next time I move, it's
gonna be to the afterlife or I'm gonna be too
old and they're gonna have to do it for me.
I'm never doing this again. But yeah, but enough about that.
Enough we had to talk about something that we have
been eagerly awaiting to speak about, Like, I don't think
we've ever been more excited for an episode.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
We did all the breakdown, all the matchups of our
marsh Madness competition. Yes, and between the three of us
including Joey, only one of us knows the results. Yes,
so you guys are anxious to find out and I'm
anxious to share it.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Yeah. But also before we start, I do I do
want to say something that because you know this, this
is the Star Wars pot and now we have visual
aid here. I went to Disneyland and I.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Did it the lightsaber.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
They didn't have Yellow Man, come on, got a lightsaber.
I finally got to do it genuinely one of the
most fun experiences of my life. It's not you know,
I mean, it's it's it's it's campy, but it's the
perfect camp for me. Shout out to all the work
you know, the employees there who made it a fun
experience because they really bought into it and stuff. So
build me a lightsaber? Went with nature what kind of

(03:00):
stuff they do.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I I'm I'm curious. I've seen like clips here and there,
but I've never actually gotten into the ceremony.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
They played this little scenario as if we're like, you know,
part of the Resistance and and we're secret Jedi that
are getting our lightsabers now. And they tell a story
about how the Resistance everywhere and you know, the actors
and stuff are always walking around the areas anyways, like
you know they're gonna be looking for your lightsabers now,
and uh, master Yoda comes, you know, he speaks to
us about how you know, we're like the greatest thing

(03:26):
ever and we got to build our light sabers. We
got to pick our colors, which was it was blue, green, purple,
and then red, and you had four options of how
to build your lightsabers. They let you the person next
to me build read and they mess with them for
a little bit, but it can be the red they
they said, it's like a fallen Uh, it's like like

(03:46):
a fallen Jedi who's come back, Like you have a
fallen Jedi's light taber. They basically had one that was
the old fashioned, you know, look like your your your
o G lightsaber. They had a older public looking lightsaber,
and then he had the one I pick, which was
like a nature wooden kind of bone looking thing. That's
really kind of my vibe. They didn't let me pick yellow.

(04:07):
I was kind of bummed, so I went with green.
Just want to point out not a single person in
my group of fifteen picked a purple lightsaber. Stock is
low on purple lightsabers. But but yeah, a lot of
blue and green, and got a cool little pin, had
a ceremony, wife took pictures. Uh yeah, childhood dream although
you know, building a lightsaber. So I'm happy I did it.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
The hill and that you shut up. Just like the
brief picture that I saw there, it looks kind of
like kind of like a sear agenda that you see
in Fallen Order.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah. Yeah, I was like one of the few people
that went with that one that everyone went with like
the New Republic, or they wanted like the metallic silver
and gold. I think mine looks pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah yeah, I think it fits me. But uh yeah,
so I got my lightsaber. I feel like a like
a like an actual Star Wars fan.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Now I think you were one before, but I get it.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah no, but yeah, but that's all I got. Man,
Let's get to the bracket because I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
So last episode we shared what the regions were YEP,
and we set the matchups between them, and then between episodes,
we individually went and ranked every entry on a basis
of four categories. We gave them a rating of one

(05:25):
to ten. We did half points and decimal points, and
we really got into it. We went deep. We ranked
them on for how that entry whether it was a
video game, book, movie, TV show. We rated it on
like story character, how we rate that for there? We
rated it on a scale of one to ten. For

(05:47):
like nostalgia, how it feels to us personally, what our
personal relationship with it? We rated it on rewatchability or
replayability or rereadability how often we revisit this in our
when we go back and revisit all the Star Wars
stuff that we do because we are Star Wars fans,
we do watch it over and over. And then the

(06:07):
last category was on how it impacts overall Star Wars
lower so like the world building, how it plays out
and overall. So we've rated everything a scale of one
to ten. So the highest possible score that an entry
could get is one hundred and twenty points. Because there
were three of us, we did four categories.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Sets up.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Based on the score, it goes head to head with
who it was going to head to head in the brackets.
So like our first our first matchup Air to the
Empire against Republic commandos, and based on their overarching score,
whoever the higher score wins. So now we are going
to go matchup by matchup all the way down till

(06:49):
we can name one winner. Off they always told them
to Star Wars March Madness, Yes, bracket. So what I'm
gonna do is I'm not going to reveal both scores
because if I do that, that'll kind of give it
away because you'll say, oh, this person got this thing,
got a whatever the highest one, yeah, and then you'll
know going down next time it comes up against something

(07:11):
you know, so we want to tease this out a
little bit. Yeah, but I will say if there's something
that has like a runaway yeah, so they beat something
by a lot, I'll get I'll give that to you.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
If the Rise of Skywalker beats anything, we need to
see the school.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Okay, listen, I'm gonna I'm gonna spoil that.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Oh no.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
The range of scores on things goes up to almost nothing.
Got a perfect score, yeah, but very close to it,
and then the lower ones ranged in like the sixty
seventy point range.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Yeah, Rise of Skywalker got a twenty six point five.
There is nothing even within like ten thirty points ten
to twenty thirty points of that. It got a twenty
six point five. So that matchup ahead of time. Sorry,
stick the window of the sails, but everything I.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Actually don't enjoy those, man o man okay, yeah, wow wow, yeah,
I suspected low. Not not not quite that low.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
All right? So yeah, first matchup, what is it? The
Legend Strong trilogy, Yeah against Republic Commando. And the winner
of that one was the original Throng trilogy.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah yeah, fair fair. Republic Commando's actually started playing it
again recently on the PlayStation. Yeah, but yeah, aired there,
I agree, no complaints.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Okay, So, uh we'll go down the line. Matchup number two,
the Original Battlefront against Knights of the Old Republic.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Oh man, what do you think? Uh? Judging by uh,
I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go O G Battlefront Overnight
to the Republic.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
You are correct, but it was a close one. It
was only it was less than five point difference between
the two.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah, it deserves it because all the two great, great games.
But yeah, I was like the vibe of the three
of us, like, yeah, we leave probably more towards OG
battle you know.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
I I love Knights of the Old Republic too. I
want to say I probably played that more than the
O G Battlefront. It might be blasphmous to say, because
the Battlefront had more and there, but I don't know, No,
I just need there both video games going against the
older video games. So it's kind of a good matchup. Yeah, yeah,

(09:42):
all right, and uh next matchup is the Force Unleashed,
so the Star Killer games.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Sam, Yeah, Sam, what we're yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Star Killer yeahe against the Nintendo sixty four Shadows of
the Empire game. Yeah, as expected, the Force and Leash
one that.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
One was gonna say, Yeah, my pick was yeah, Force
and Leash definitely.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
A bit of a runaway over over twenty five point
difference between the two. And then the last matchup of
the Legends region, we have the Darth Bane Trilogy against
Kyle Kataran.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Come on, Kyle Catarn, come on, Kyle, I got my
parlay on.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Kyle Guitar makes it to the next round.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yes, Kyle, you know, you know, you know what, you
know what I was. I was talking about Kyle catarr
And the other day because that one of my closest friends
is playing Jedi Survivor right now, and uh, he had
played Fallen Order and then he's night he played Following
over years ago. Not really huge Star Wars fan, but
he's like, hey, man, you know this is a really
interesting Star Wars story, and like I'm I really liketing
Kyle Custis And I was like, yeah, man, he's coming

(10:47):
on my favorite Jediz. He's like, yeah, he's kind of like, uh,
the New Generation's Kyle Gtarn And I was like, oh, no.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
No he is, but he kind of he kind of is.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
He's calling Kyle Guitar and I'm like, because coll Guitar
Never did you know, Like he was just the video
game character did everyone love and they wanted them interact
in the never showed up dang it. But I think
collcasters will be in live action sooner than later.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah. I really think that they'll want to wrap up
the video games because they're making another video game. It's
a trilogy of video games. So I think once that
story wraps up, maybe there might be room for them
to do something. Yeah, I mean if they're still continuing
stories in that area, because we got and or season
two coming up that's going to wrap up there, run

(11:33):
in there. I mean, maybe we might see like a
Tales of the Jedi type Yeah, yeah, I don't maybe,
I don't know. So that wraps up the first round
of the Legends region. Now we're moving into the prequels.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
This is gonna be fun.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
We have in the first matchup, Revenge of the Sith
against Attack of the Clones.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
I'm reveigionous Sith. It's it's it's possibly the best.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
It's it's that one seed that's you know, not gonna
lose this first matchup for sure. Yeah yeah, yeap. Revenge
of this Syth moves on very nice Next we have
the Quinland Vas Bowl. We have the Disney Plus show
Obi Wan Kenobi against the novel Dark.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Disciple, which which now you have read.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yes, I I was the odd man out here. I
had not read Dark Disciple, and you guys have hyped
this up to me so much over the so scared
I have. I have finished reading it. We will cover
it on the channel at some point, so I'll save
my thoughts. But uh, unfortunately it did not win this matchup.

(12:48):
It was just over a point difference.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
I'll take it. Great defeat, great effort, guys.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I think the nostalgia of Obi Wan won out for
like in Joey ratings for sure. Yeah, but you know what,
Dark Disciple is a strong Obi Wan Kenobi story.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm excited to get into with you because
I'm glad the more people that more people have read
it now so we can because like everyth I'm talking about,
it's That's why I'm surprised that Joey had read it.
I don't know how I came across Dark Disciple, but
it's it's it's like one of the like first memories
I have of really getting into a Star Wars book
outside of like you know outside of like the Throng
Children everything legends.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah yeah, yeah, well Obi Wan moves on by uh
just over a point difference.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
I'll take it. I'll accept that defeat graciously.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
Next matchup, we have the Siege of mandalor arc of
the Clone War series. Yeah versus What Light of the Jedi. Yeah, Republic.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
The All Souls of the Jedi. This is this is
uh to continue our sports references. This is like that
part of the bracket that's like Montana versus like New Mexico,
and like, I live in the southeastern part of the
United States, so I'd have no idea. I'm like, yeah,
I've seen some highlights, so I'm like, yeah, whoever wins,
I'm interested. So I have no idea who would win

(14:10):
this one?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
The higher seed prevailed Siege of Mandler, Yeah one in
a runaway. It was almost a thirty point difference.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Oh, I'm not getting any I haven't read that book,
so yeah, I couldn't.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
I couldn't. I tried to keep it in the middle.
I tried to. I'm not just gonna give Zeros because
I'm sure it was not worthy of Zeros.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
But yeah, that means to.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
The score a little bit.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
Yeah, surely, surely not the worst of the New Star
Wars injuries.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
And then lastly, for the prequel era, we have the
Phantom Menace against the.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
New thro You know what, I know, the Phantom Menace
is probably the higher seed. I'm still gonna say I
think the Phantom Menace is gonna win out just for nostalgia.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Well, have you read the New Throne books.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
I've read one of them because I don't want to
replace the Empire.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
No. I I aired The Empire was so good, and
I remember the first time I read that, I was yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Yeah, I felt like I was watching the sequels to
Star Wars.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Well, the Phantom Menace did did win this matchup?

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah? Good good?

Speaker 1 (15:25):
I mean, honestly, kind of as it should. I mean,
you would hope that one of the movies would beat
a book. But then again, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
You know. I my my my son Solomon, we watched
The Phantom Menace for his birthday. He wanted to watch.
Was like, pick a movie on to watch, buddy. He
picked a Phantom Menace. And every time I watch it
with my kids, they're like, like they always talk about
this movie within context. They're like it came out ninet
niney nine, Like yeah, like wow, the pod race thing,
just like the bat like they they don't have the
same like ire towards it as like everyone else does. Yeah,

(16:00):
it's a fine movie. Nothing's wrong with it.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
I mean it's one of my I really enjoy that movie.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I'm I'm softening up every time I watch it. I'm like,
this isn't that bad, maybe because like we I actually
understand all the political stuff now, you know. But it's like, yeah,
like it's not a horrible movie by by any stretch.
I mean, it's not right. The Skywalker not twenty six points.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
All right. We are moving across the board to the
age of the Rebellion, Age of the Empire region.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
I think sneakily the toughest bracket. This is just looking
at him, looks pretty hard.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Honestly, Outside of this first matchup, the rest of them
are all close.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Okay, yeah, nothing the Empire.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
This first matchup is a runway. It might be the
highest point differential between talking about it.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
I don't think you always had the pleasure of playing
Outlaws yet.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
That's probably why Empire strikes back versus the Outlaws video game,
which sneakly. I enjoyed there's a there's new there's new
downloadable content coming out this month for it. Okay, I
think it's a month. It's Spring twenty twenty five with
Hondo and Naka, so there's a there's a mission with Hondo.
There's already been a Lando mission that that got released,

(17:18):
like a download of mission stuff. I mean, I've already
beat the game twice. In the story of Belding.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Shut shout shout out to jests at Disneyland, she got
she was introduced to Honda when we did the we
did the mission with who is that? Yeah, we did awful.
We did not too great.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
What what position did you have? How did it play out?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I was just unfortunate. I was the guy that just
push the buttons that the harpoons.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Well that's four of the six positions. Were you engineer, gunner,
I was.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
An engineer, Lance got to be gunners, and me and
just got to be engineers, and these two other guys
that were just in line got to be the pilots.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
We were kind of okay, so you didn't even have
a full girl.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
No, we we we tried to get in line to
where h Jess and Lance, who because Jess had never
been on the right before and Lance never flown. We're like,
the first time I did it, I flew and hit everything,
not the pilot. You want, trust me, let me gun.
But I was like, okay, cool, I'll get to be
a gunner thing because I you know, last time I
flew and I want to shoot this stuff completely got
the line like missal Ligne, and they just put it

(18:21):
in our spots, I mean just about just smashing buttons
and the pilot. We had a good time, it was,
she said, which I was surprised her favorite ride at Disneyland.
Oh wow, that was her favorite ride. And I was like, okay,
that's cool.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yeah, that's it's definitely immersive, like you feel like you're
in the ship flying. That's pretty cool. Like it moves
around some cool things. They're coming out with a new
story for it. Did you hear that?

Speaker 2 (18:45):
No? I do know the Outlaws because I bought it
when it came out.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
You and we lost the smugglers.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Smugglers No, no.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Yeah, So right now the mission is it's uh what
sequel era Hondo is running like missions to go get
Kaxium and you're piloting the Millenium Falcon to Go gets on.
There's uh starting next year around the time that the
Mandalorian Grogu movie come out. There's gonna be a new
story for that for that ride that has the Mandalorian

(19:15):
and Grogu involved.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
That's cool. We gotta go back.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
This is this is me. I'm a I'm a Disney
World love all that stuff. They announced it like a
year ago and then just recently saying, oh, it's coming
May twenty twenty six, Like number one doesn't take that
long to program this game to do it, but I
you know they're trying to match up with when the
movie comes out to create that extra hype. All right. Anyways,
back to the matchup and Preser sharks Back against Outlaws

(19:42):
video game and Preer sharks Back runs away with it.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah, if you want to learn how to play Sabak, will.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
It's spent hours playing Sabakh. Yeah, but you know what
Sabaka has always been. It's been different in video games
that you play like Knights of the Old Republic to
play the Baca that, but it's way different from Sebak
and Ilaws. I love it with the different cheats.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
It took It took me a minute to get a
grasp of it. Once you do. Yeah, yeah, like you're
looking at a guy. I play Red There Diferent two
just to play Texas hold them mm hmm like I played.
I I don't even like do the missions anymore. I
just go to a bar and play poker. So like
now an Outlaws, I just go play the Baka.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Yeah, like I used to play Grand theftot or just
go play darts something. That kind of stuff is so cool.
What's nice about Sebak and Outlaws is it's kind of
customizable because you have to collect they call them, what
do they call them, like specialty uh, cards or tokens
that you can play. Yeah, so you have the game,
but you can also play these the You have three

(20:45):
that you can use every every round, and it's stuff
like add this to this person's hands, take one in there,
and then on top of that, as you as you progressed,
you have three cheats that you can collect. So one
you let Nix go look at everyone else's card so
you can see what everyone else has. Uh. There's another
one where it's like magnetic dice. You can control when

(21:06):
you roll the dice, you can control what it comes
out to be. And then there's a third one that
is my absolute favorite that you get later on in
the game is where you can by sleight of hand
draw two cards instead of one. Like the stuff is
just kind of cool, and it's you have to time
it right when you do the cheat, so it's not
even like you can just press the button and it works.

(21:27):
You got to do it or you get caught. I
don't know. It's it's hyping up outlaws here for a
number of different reasons, but I think.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
It's give.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
Honestly, I do see what all the hate that's going
against is because of like the glitchy gameplay, and there
were a few times where I've had to like just
restart a mission because it doesn't work. Glitches and some
of the graphics that go in and out. But like
that kind of stuff, to me, yeah, they should have
that fix. They with the amount of time they spend
on these games and how other other areas can do

(21:57):
it and do it really well without it being an issue,
it shouldn't be there. But to me, that doesn't. I'm
just happy.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
If you don't support it, we'll never get it again.
You gotta support it or we won't get it. And
I know, I know it's a dumb thing to do,
but like, yeah, it's an open world Star Wars game.
You to feel like you're actually it feels like Star Like.
That's that's the main thing. The game's jank. Yes, the story,
you know, it is what it is. But at the
end of the day, you're running around Star Wars and
it feels like it like it genuinely feels like you're
in Star Wars.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah. You can travel the different areas of different planets,
different areas of the planet. There's different forms of travel.
There's fast travel, which makes is great because if you
had to go across the desert every time you want
to do something, that would suck.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
That would suck.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
There's space, like you can fly in space and battle.
There's uh, like you said, you could play some back.
There's fighting, there's you fight storm troopers, you can you
can do jobs. It's just yeah, like you said, open world.
I love it anyway, but it lost.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
So you could you could join the Pikes and screw
everyone else.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Enough about outlaws. Because of lost, We're moving on. Okay,
matter number two. We have a rogue one against the
Jedi Fallen Order. Jedi Survivor Games.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Uh, oh, man, you know I'm gonna go Rogue one
because I I want to see Empire in Rogue one.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
You know, honestly, Rogue One's one. Man. I enjoyed that
movie a lot, but I really enjoyed those games too. Yeah,
Rogue one, Rogue one is the winner, and as it
should be. But it was a closer matchup than probably
would have expected.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Yeah, I mean, no, I'm I'm like you. I'm very
high on the following order Survivor Games.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Too, episode four, a New Hope yep up against rebels the.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Show I like, but I mean it it's yeah, no,
I mean it has to be a New Hope, right, Yes,
that'd be a crazy upset. That would be the next one.
I'm at. The next one is is is I'm interested in?
But yeah, no, I think I think a New Hope Yeah,
definite clear ribbles yep.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
A New Hope wins moves on to the next round.
And in our last matchup of this region, we have
and Or the Disney Plus TV show going up against
Return of the Jedi.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Oh, I'm I'm gonna pick upset and say Return of
the Jedi upsets and Org, I mean and or is
recency biased and it's really good, but it's turned to
the Jedi.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yep, it is. It was pretty cool. It was close.
I it wasn't like it was about a twelve point difference.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
You know, if if the actual it.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Was a nine point difference.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Sorry, if the actual bracket was this easy not easy,
but if it was just like obvious for me, I'd
probably went some money.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Yeah. I don't know, though, I think that when you
see the final results.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
You'll be I'm excited about it, all right.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
And then lastly, we have the sequel era of region yep,
so this is anything post Return of the Jedi. So
our first matchup is the Mandalorian against the Battlefront two
video game.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Ah, if I had to, if I had to take
a guess, I'm gonna go Mandalorian. Battlefront two had that
rocky start and it got better. But then they came
out with the og Battlefront and we're like, why even play?

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Yeah, it was the Mandalorian as it should be nice,
all right. Next we have the Force Awakens against the
Last Jedi. Oh man, uh, before you pick, I will
say this was a runaway.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Oh no, the Force Awakens blew out the Last Jedi.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
It did it by almost by almost thirty points.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
My little last Jedi flag just fell down, man out. Yeah,
well it was it was a good try, Last Jedi.
It was a good try.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Yeah, you had a great chance. You could have done
something great.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Now we're gonna get to the biggest blowout of of
the of the tournament, Ahsoka, the TV show versus The
Rise of Skywalker.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah, just just how how big of a blowout was this?

Speaker 1 (25:53):
You know what, I'm gonna get you the exact number.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Get a quick maps here.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
It was a sixty five point difference.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Yeah, sorry, Ras Skywalker. I mean, I can't say I
didn't do it for the memes. I can't say I
didn't do it for the blowout, you know. But hey,
here we are.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, Ahsoka moves on. Yeah all right. And then lastly,
the Skeleton Crew against the Book of Boba Fat.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
This was kind of confusing because we love Skelton.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Crew in a two point victory, Okay, all.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Right, so hang on. With that being said, we love
Skeleton Crew, but also Book of Boba Fet has one
of the best Luke Skywalker things ever in it, but
it's wrapped around book a Boba Fet does Luke have
that much power to eke out a two point win.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
I think the recency bias one out here, yeah, Skelton
cre I mean Crew moved on by by two points.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Guys, if you still haven't watched it, please do it.
It's it's great. Yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
It's not gonna blow your mind, but you're not gonna.
It's not gonna.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
It's not gonna be indor. But it's fun fun, especially
if you have little ones. It's a blast for sure.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
That is the first round. Movie. Onto the second round
and back up in the Legends region, we have the
Original Throng Trilogy against the original Battlefront game, and as expected,
the Original thron Trilogy wins out. Yeah yeah, okay, that
was that was about a had about a ten point difference. Okay,
it was a definite win. Not not too close, but

(27:19):
not a runaway either. Next round, we have the Force
Unleashed against Kyle Katarn oh no, and in a much
closer matchup a difference of only six points or five points, sorry,
five points, the Force Unleash moves on, so Star Killer
over Cay Katarn.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I mean that's how it would be it they actually
met too, so.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Fortunately I don't know.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yeah, no, Star Killer is super overpowered.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
You know what I wonder too, if it's because we
did cay katarn as a whole like category like revisibility,
or he probably and get as high in that as
the Force and Leash does because we can go back
and play the game. They're fun. Yeah, I don't know. That,
just speculation there. I'm not looking at the actual spores,
so all right. And then moving on to the prequel era,

(28:13):
we have Revenge of the Sith against Obi Wan Kenobi.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
Now we're going revenge.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah it was okay, good, twenty six point difference, revenge.
Revenge moves on, okay, And then we have the Siege
of mandalor Arc versus the Phantom Menace. Uh, and we
have an upset alert because the Phantom Menace wins out.

(28:44):
I'll take it more highly ranked, but they lost in
the second round.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Yeah, dude, Phantom Menace is agent like a fine wine. Relatability, Yeah, relatability.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Are right. Round two in the OT era, we have
the Empire strikes Back against Rogue one.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
All right, all right, okay, okay, give me wait it man.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
By less than three points. Yeah, Empire strikes back moves
on less than three points. It was. It was a
close matchup.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Yeah, those are last Jedi. You should have been the Empire. Okay, sorry,
never gonna get over the last Jedi what they did
to me.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
And then we have a New Hope against Return of
the Jedi. Oh oh, and I will say before you
decide the the winner won by point six points, not
even a full point win.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
I'm gonna say Return of the Jedi.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
You would be correct. Yeah, return I eked out a
New Hope by point six points.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Yeah, man, I uh yeah, too bad. I can't bet
on this. This is the best best guessing I've done
since high school.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Man, all right. And then last, our last region, the
sequel era, we have the Mandalorian against the Force Awakens.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, I'm gonna go Mando. I like the Force Awakens,
but Mando has been Yeah, the Mandalorian is the reason
people still watched Wars after the trilogy.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Apparently, Mando moves on. Mando moves on to the next round.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Mando moves on.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
And then lastly, we have a Soca against Skeleton Crew.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
I think this is a Soka.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Yeah, this is about a twelve point difference. So Soka
moved on.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Had too many great characters in it, too, many characters
we loved watching walk around, characters that we can't wait
to see again, you know.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
So yeah, next round? What do you what do you
call the round of eight? What's it called? Lee eight? Eight?

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (30:49):
All right, we have the original Throng trilogy against the
Force Unleashed. I keep wanting to say, the Force awakens?
Is the Force?

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Now? I still air? THEMPIA is right high.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Man Drown moves on by a point eight.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
D He's getting close.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
Good, yeah, very close. The good games. Yeah, we're getting
We're getting our money's worth here, all right. And then
we have Revenge of the Sith against the Phantom Menace.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
No, Revenge of the Sith.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Revenge of the Sith moves on eleven point victory. Yeah,
so both one seeds are still alive going into the
final four.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
Very nice, all right.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Moving over to the other side, we have the Empire
strikes back against Return of the Jedi.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Wow, that's.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
No again again a difference of point six.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
No. I was thinking to my god, I say, Empire strikes.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Back, and we have our first upset here of this.
This is this is big Return of the Jedi beat
out Empire strikes back again by point six. I want
to I want to preface beat out a New Hope
and Empire strikes back by the same difference, because a
New Hope and Empire strikes back for us at the
exact same score.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Oh well, there you go. Oh well, darn.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
And it was the only it was the only two
things out of this entire what do we have thirty
two entries. Yeah, it was the the only two that
came out with the exact same score. A New Hope
and Empire strikes back, and then they both lost to
Return of the Jedi, just in different rounds. All right,
so we have a five seed moving on to the

(32:35):
final four. Let's do it and okay, and then our
last round we have Mando the Mandalorian against Soca.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Oh man, this is kind of the same show. Uh,
Mandalorian has more, so you have you have more to
go off of. I I I would personally pick a Soca,
but I think Mandalorian won.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
This is this is a one seed versus two seeds. Listen,
this is a nice matchup by about an eighteen point difference.
Mandalorian one.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Yeah. Yeah, my heart stays Ahsoka, but my brain says Mandalorian.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
All right, we have our final four. The Original Throng
Trilogy is our Legends representation, Revenge of the Sith leads
the prequel era, Return of the Jedi leads the original
Trilogy era, and the Mandalorian takes over the sequels.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Fair you know what? That sounds pretty fair?

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yes? I think three of these are obvious. I'm Return
of the Jedi is the shaker. They're they're the one
that takes this tournament by a storm and up over
the empire. Yeah, I personally, I think over a new
hope to me, like, Return of the Jedi is great.
It's a happy ending, It's it brings everything together. We
get to see Luke Jet Luke be the Jedi that

(33:49):
we all know he should be. Yeah, all right, final four.
What are your predictions? Who do you think wins it all?

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Let's see, we got we got air, we got Revenge.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Air, Revenge Return.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
I'm gonna say that Revenge of the Sith. When's the
entire thing?

Speaker 1 (34:06):
All right?

Speaker 2 (34:07):
I think Revenge of the Sith when the tired thing.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Well, I will tell you in its first matchup against
the Old Legends Strong trilogy. Yes, Revenge of the Syth
moves on to the to the Championship. Okay, all right,
And then on the other side we have Return of
the Jedi against the Mandalorian.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
If the Return of the Jedi was able to beat
the OG trilogy, I'm gonna say it's gonna beat Mandalorian
as well.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Another upset. Return of the Jedi moves on.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Now we are doing Return to the Return of.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
The Jedi against Revenge of.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Ah. And you know what, I'm gonna stick to my
gut even though it all the upsets, I'm gonna say,
Revenge of the Sith.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
You know what's kind of cool is these are both
the end of the end of those trilogies. Yeah, like
the culmination of it all. One left us in dark
miss and one brought us back to the Light yep.
And so essentially you could say this is a battle
of good versus evil yep, the Light versus the Dark,
the Jedi versus the Sith. In the title itself, yes,

(35:15):
Turn of the Jedi versus Revenge of the Sith, and
I could tease us up no longer Return of the
Jedi one. Oh, okay, good by seven points? Yes, And
I'm shocked because I feel like Joey just would have
had Revenge of the Sith rad in like complete perfect score.
I don't know, I never check he loves that movie.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
I yeah, I'm I'm shocked. But it's the news that
we need to have right now. We need the Light win.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
Yes, the good guys need to try.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Return of the Jedi so much right now.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
I'm not gonna think about the you know, the sequel
ruining the end of this movie anyway. Yes, but return, Yeah,
Return of the Jedi is our winner. The winner of
the Always Hold On to Star Wars March Madness tournament
is Returning the Jedi.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
That that seems fair. It was, It was quite a like, yeah,
it was not my I did not expect Return of
the Jedi to win. I thought it would be. I
thought it would win some.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
I even expected to make it to the final four.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah. I thought it was gonna have a hard time
geting best and Or. But like, yeah, no, it and it.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Be and Or. It beat a New Hope, it beat
Empire strike Back, it beat the Mandalorian, and then finally
it took down Revenge of the Sith.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
My cat come to grab my my copy of it.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
You could see her over here, in the background. I
have the DHS, the gold plated Darth Vader. Oh you
have the book. Yeah, I'm pointing in the movie you
have the book.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Yeah, thank you Podfather for the gift. Yes, well man,
oh I surprised, but uh but not mad about it.
I'll take it.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yeah, yeah, definitely and like.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
It like like Kya Katarn won a whole thing or
anything like. So we're good.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Can you imagine if we just came to the end
said the Rise of Skywalker is the winner.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Oh yeah, no, le, we'll see if we wanted to get clicks.
That's how we do that. Out of our Star Wars
March Madness. It's a Rise of Skywalker, no Return of
the Jedi. It seems fitting. I'm glad. Uh very classic.
Uh finished. ESPN would have eaten up this this this
championship game. It would have been like, you know, I

(37:23):
don't know, you know, it's like you said, it's light
versus dark. It will set up perfectly by you. So
I'm glad that the Light wins. Hopefully that part of
Star Wars start reflecting life as well.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Yes, all right, that's it. That's uh. That was a
fun competition. I mean, we had a lot of fun
doing this. I mean I had a lot of fun
sitting here and rating these on all these levels and
thinking about how I felt about characters.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
And I'm just I'm just telling you this. If this,
if this podcast just becomes us doing different games with
Star Wars that you can think of, Chris, because you
think of great ideas of these things, and Joey, I
need to, I need to, I need to do something.
I need to step up the game here because I'm
having a blast doing this.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
Oh yeah, I think the next thing we get back
to is we have a new live show coming out
again that we're gonna need to talk about. And I'm
most excited for this then I've been for then. Then
I've been since Obiman was coming out, and like, yeah,
I was super excited because he's my favorite character and
I wanted to spend all that time with him. But
in Or season two is probably the most anticipated for

(38:24):
me of the Disney Plus shows.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, and uh and we'll
be here to cover it with three episodes at a time. Yeah,
we'll be here to cover it.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
All right, But you got to take us out with
a joke first.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Here's my star Wars joke to sin everybody else happy,
I'm ready. What do you call an elephant that you
mix with Darth Vader?

Speaker 1 (38:45):
An elephant? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
An elevator, elevator? Once again? Thank you, yeah, once again, guys,
thank you for my Star Wars joke. I never said
it would be good. I just said it will be
Star Wars jokes. You guys have a great time. I
hope you have a great week.
