Speaker 1 (00:00):
We have here, Felipe Esparza, Filippe, thank you for being
here with me today.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
All having me and my fans. What's Upful?

Speaker 3 (00:06):
What's up Ful?

Speaker 1 (00:07):
So we're gonna start here in twenty ten you want
NBC's Last Comic Standing, and have since had four soon
to be five comedy specials on TV. You've been on
numerous TV shows like Superstar, The Eric Andre Show, HEM five,
one of my favorites, Victor and Valentino. And you've made
film appearances like Guesthouse with Polly Shore, seventh and New

(00:27):
Noon Union with Omar Chaparro, Daddy Daughter Trip with Rob Schneider,
You People with Eddie Murphy and Jonah Hill and the
Opening Act, and you have one of the top comedy
podcasts called What's up Full.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
I heard a little bit of the last one. It
was it was interesting. So Filippe, right now you're on tour.
Is this your first world tour?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
No, I've been on actually yeah, because I'm I traveled
the world this time. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah, You're like it was just.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
A national tour, but this was actually world tour because
I just got back from Ireland and England and after them,
I went Bird of Canada, and I went to Australia.
You know what a lot of comics. You know, like
they asked me, like what type of audience I have
when I go out of the country, and it's the
same audience that I have in a passo a Latinos.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Really in Ireland.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Melbourn Australia, I thought it was gonna be like like
people like from Cocadiut, Dundee or something there wass who
moved there in the eighties. Really a lot of a
lot of people from a Stavodor and South America live
in Melbourne. I had to ask, you know, how did
you make it out here? Because you don't just decide
to leave off Stavodor to go to Australia. But there

(01:40):
were there because there were refugees from the revolution in
the eighties. When her America took refugees from Nicaragaga, Mala,
they were being killed by communism, so they had a
choice to go to. When America said we have enough Starvadorians,
Canada opened up their doors to them and sor did Australia.

(02:01):
So they had a choice between Canada or Australia, and
a lot of all went to Australia too, so.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Did you feel like, you know, that's a good question.
I ever even thought about that. So when you're out
there like, Okay, I'm not gonna have a lot of
Hispanics or my regular audience, like I wouldn't, I'll pass
so out here, did you feel like you had to
maybe change your your bit a little bit for the audience.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Or I didn't change anything because I guess they already
know me. They already know my timing and my guest heures.
So only in England I changed a couple of words
because child support doesn't exist in England. It's called child maintenance.
And they automatically, like if you get divorced, the autom
the government automatically decides how much you owe after a divorce.

(02:43):
You don't need a lawyer for that.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Oh really, Yeah, And if you were to say the
word elevator in your in your bit, you'd have to
change it to lift no.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah left. And also garage is garage garage.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
So right now you are on.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Your at my Leisure World tour. You're gonna be here.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
In All Passo for two shows Friday, January thirty first
at the Plaza Theater.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Now I know you've been to all passle before. Have
you ever performed at the Plaza Theater.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I performed at the Plaza Theater the last time I
was there, and Selina's sister was doing a show next door,
and she came to my should during during intermission at
her show.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Oh nice, I know that, you know I'll passle. You
know you love all passle. What are some of your
favorite places to come when you're down your other you know,
when you're not doing your act.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I go to Jaguars and you know it shut down right? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Man, you gotta switch it to Bucks now.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
I go there at Prince Macabelly.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Okay, any places other than other than the Gentlemen's Club
that you like to.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Go, like outer time Prince Macabelly the daytime and it
was bad because like dad, like like the thirsttring dancers there,
and I had a girl that was kind of big.
I remember when I left. I call it Prince matching Bally's.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
You don't got to break the hundreds there, you got
to break the fives.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Was weird about the strip bars there, Like when I
was there a long time ago. I was there with
Paul Rodriguez and Gabor Iglesias and there's a Burrito Lady
that shows up at midnight, and I remember one of
the dancers asked me, would you like a dance? And
I said, I love to you very beautiful. But the

(04:16):
Burrito Lady's gonna be here ten minutes and she has
giesado with cheese right now.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
You want to get the burritos before they go cold.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
When she comes in with her little ice cooler. Yeah,
you guys are throwing money at her as a joke.
Well that's why.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Which one was this? That the Prince? The Prince matching Belly's.
I'm gonna put that up.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
And right now you have your fifth stand up special,
Raging Full. It premieres on Netflix February eleventh, So you've
obviously already finished filming for that one on the tour
that you're going on right now, are you filming for
a possible sixth special? Like, are you gonna be filming
here in a Passo or anywhere else?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
You know what? That could be something I can do
in the future, But right now, I gotta work on
a new act. So I'm working on the news. Yeah,
I'm working on my sixth special. So you're in a
pastor you probably would hear thirty minutes that's Neil and
the other thirty would be the regular special. But I
have new jokes. Like I said that I went through
a doctor for a health checkup. I'm getting older, he

(05:16):
said Filippe. I wanted a school sample, a blood sample,
urine sample, and a semen sample. Said luck, doctor, You're lucky.
I got all of them underwork.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
So I am on here in a pastle. You know,
I'm sure you're familiar with our sister station two Mike Deep.
Now I'm on the country station. I'm a ninety six
point three K Hey country. Are you Do you have
any interesting country music at all?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Yeah? Man, I like the old school country, like old
school man like, like we're talking old old, old grand
o opry stuff like yeah, serci oh uh that song,
the old song. Everyone considered him the coward of the

(06:00):
yeah man.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
So when I got you know, when I when I
got this gig, country was all new to me. I
knew maybe some nineties country, and so everything that ninety
six point three K country plays, for the most part,
it's all pass those new country. So every time I
ask people, you know, are you in the country, they
say yeah. But I like the older stuff. The eighties
and nineties and they start singing. I feel so bad
because I'm like, man, you know, I got to get
used to the older stuff too.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
So you're all about Cody Cody?

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Was it that Cody Cody Johnson?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Cody Huh Cody Johnson?

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Yeah, oh the country, the country artists? You like him?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yes? I never got to meet him. But during COVID,
I had to show it Oklahoma City and it was
like my first show during COVID, Like it was COVID
was still going on. But I had a show in
Oklahoma City and my show was limited to half audience
because the rules. Yeah, and they had the audience had
to wear a mask. They were checking temperatures. And Cody

(06:54):
Johnson he had a show next door, no masks, no temperatures,
sold that he had a tour bus, he had merched
and man they were partying at that place. Yeah, and
I was like, damn, man, I wish I had known name.
I would have went right.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
The rules are so different. So on the COVID Johnson
Tour COVID Johnson Tour. So, Filippe, is there anything else
that you would like to tell the listening audience?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yes, I have a Netflix special coming out February eleven. Also,
there's a new sitcom with Tim Allen and the woman
from Two Bro Girls called Shifting Gears on ABC. Gears, Man,
I'm in episode four.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Episode four. What can you tell us a little bit
about what that is? Shifting Gears.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Shifting Gears is Tim Allen's new show about a father
who he runs an auto body auto shop where they
remodel hot rods, like make them into nice cars, and
I play a mechanic. There was no lines.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
So have you heard of the show that was filmed
here in o'passo and across the border in Quanta's a
little further called tex Mex Motors. It's like a reality
show based you know, this is kind of the same prime.
They take classic cars from quadays, bring them back over
here and fix them up.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
What's in them? Right? With drugs in them? Right to
a pass?

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Well, they don't air that, but you know, I'm not
going to say I saw that show, not clost Quay.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I heard of that one. I haven't seen it, but well,
PHILIPPI thank you so much for being here with me today.

Speaker 1 (08:16):

but I just want to let everyone know he is
going to be here. It'll pass on Friday, January thirty.
First two shows the Plaza Theater. His new stand up special,
Raging Full, will premiere on Netflix February eleventh. And you
said you're going to be in that new show, Shifting
Gears episode four.

Speaker 3 (08:33):

so just stay on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah. And I'll have a podcast called What's a Full Podcast?
And I have a news podcast called History for Fools
if you want to learn about history.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
And last, oh, nice, History for Fools.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
I'm gonna have to look that one up because I
already have your other one on my on my playlist.

me today.
