Meet James E. Hutton former assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of VA

Former Presidential appointee serving as Assistant Secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs, Department of Veterans Affairs. Previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary, Executive Director, Public Affairs, Deputy Assistant Secretary (Acting) and Director, Media Relations for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Served as Chief Communication Officer, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, an Arlington, Virginia-based not-for-profit. Career Army officer, with more than 26 years service culminating as Deputy Chief of Army Public Affairs, conceptualizing, designing and executing Army communication strategies. Recognized as a leader, writer, spokesman and planner with more than 27 years of specialized focus in public relations including strategic and crisis communication. Led communications planning for major combat operations including international media coverage of the “Surge” 2007-2009. James Hutton started writing about U.S. operations surrounding the evacuation of U.S. forces in Afghanistan in the summer of 2021. Writing about it naturally evolved to writing about Ukraine and China and later Iran. I consider all of those subjects intertwined. It will expand soon to crime in the U.S. with the upcoming 2024 elections soon to be held. James Hutton continues to be on the front line of hot topics like China, taking down of our military, and Israel an US military.
