Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome to a special taster of our new
premium only story. We hope you like it. Hey yo, Hello,
(00:23):
I'm Josephine and this is the Animal Tales podcast, home
to over four hundred stories written just for you. Our
Friday story is especially for our Premium subscribers only. Connor
is a Premium member from Ontario in Canada, and he
would like a story with a German shepherd, two guinea pigs,
(00:43):
and a tar degrade. Don't forget to listen to the
animal facts after the story to learn more about these creatures.
For now, it's time to sit back and get comfy,
because it's time to begin Guinea Pig Big. There's one
golden rule about owning guinea pigs that they often forget
(01:05):
to tell you at the pet shop. That is, don't
leave your guinea pig alone near tools. This may seem
a little silly, after all, what is a guinea pig
going to do with a screwdriver and a hammer? Well,
you'd be surprised. Larry was a black guinea pig with
(01:26):
a patch of gold upon his head, while Butters was
white with an orange face and black neck. And right
now they were like two kids at Christmas. It's a
tool box, said Larry, rubbing his front paws together. Oh goody,
squealed Butters. How exciting. The open tool box was on
(01:51):
the floor of the kitchen, beside the washing machine that
was currently sitting in pieces. The repair woman, Grace, who
had been fixing it, had just left to go and
get a part that she needed, meaning that all her
equipment was laid out for the guinea pigs to see.
What shall we build? Yelled Larry as his head disappeared
(02:14):
into the toolbox. Oh there are some good tools in here.
Look at this one. Butters looked approvingly as Larry waved
around along handled something or other. I've no idea what
it is or what it does, but I look forward
to making something with it, cheered the guinea pig. And
(02:37):
we have all these washing machine parts to play with,
laughed Larry. This is going to be so much fun.
They weren't completely alone in the house, although the family
was out. Kira, a black German shepherd, was here, although
she had been staying out of the repair woman's way.
(02:58):
She'd been taking a snows in the other room. But
the tremendous clanking and banging coming from the kitchen had
woken her. What is Grace doing in there? She grumbled
to herself as she lifted a paw to cover her ears.
But even that wasn't enough to block out the racket.
It was no good. She was going to have to
(03:20):
go and see what all the fuss was about. You
can probably imagine her alarm at discovering not Grace but
the households two guinea pigs, busy putting the finishing touches
to well something. The object they'd built had been constructed
from parts of the washing machine, but also combined the microwave,
(03:43):
an electric can opener, and half the vacuum cleaner. What
have you two done, gasped the German shepherd. Tada screaked Larry,
isn't it great? What is it? Asked Kira, trying to
understand the monstrous shape. We're not sure, added Butters. Yet, Yeah,
(04:12):
added Larry, we've not turned it on. With that, he
plugged a cable into a socket, flicked the power switch,
and the machine thrumbed into life. Oh that sounds good,
giggled Butters. Isn't it dangerous? Asked the dog. Maybe you
(04:33):
shouldn't go turning it on if you don't know what
it does if we don't turn it on, said Larry,
waving a screwdriver about. We'll never know, will we. I'm
going to press this button, yelled Butters over the humming.
It looked like it was part of a toaster. There
(04:54):
was a loud frasap, a bright light, and the kitchen
got sudden smaller. No, not smaller, Larry, the black guinea
pig with the gold patch on his head had got
much much bigger. If you'd like to hear more, please
