your device. So again, appreciateeveryone for the support over the last really
ten weeks or so. The AFLregular season is over after this week,
so we're gonna go right into playoffsafter week ten. Now a lot has
changed from Week nine going into weekten, so there's only one game this
(01:00):
weekend. But first, before wego into that, let's look at the
week nine scores really quickly. First, you had the Orlando Predators beating the
Wetchity regu Later sixty three to eighteen. The Washington wolf Pack beat the Southwest
Kansas Storring forty seven to forty six. Of course, the Salion of Liberty
had the two to z four footwin over the now DEFUNCD West Texas Desert
Hawks and the Billings Outlaws beat theAlbany Firebirds thirty six to thirty five,
(01:26):
and that was a crazy finish tothe game. The Outlaws scored twelve points
in nine seconds. Let's quickly lookback at that game. So the Firebirds,
they committed multiple defensive penalties on thefinal on the final drive, really
within the last minute of the game, including a potential game sealing interception that
(01:47):
was called off. You know, the Firebirds did have a lot to say
about the officiating. We're not reallygoing to get into that what the Firebirds
said, the coach, head, coaching staff, and the general manager,
what they said about that. Sowe're not going to get into that.
But quarterback I lost quarterback Isaac Harker. He threw a touchdown pass to wide
receiver and defensive back Dwayne Brown. Then the offense they converted a four point
(02:09):
conversion, so they were able tocut the lead to thirty five to thirty
four. Then on the ensuing kickoff, kicker Bailey Giffen kick through the uprights
for aduce Here's the call the uprightsfrom the goal line. Here it is
the kick is up, it's sailing. It's I mean Outloud have pulled out
(02:34):
an unbelievable cover out. Owner ofthe Outlaws, Steven Titus said, quote,
I've been two hundreds of football gamesin my life, and I've never
had the adrenaline rush that I didin the last minute of that game.
Everything that the guys have worked sohard to do to prepare for this game
was executed perfectly. Titus goes onto say, quote, all of our
players and coaching staff, led byCedric Walker, did an amazing job.
(02:58):
They proved all the naysayers and inarena and indoor football that the Outlaws are
for real and have a sole questto win Arena Bowl thirty three. Now,
that was a crucial win for theOutlaws because it gave them the top
seed in the Arena Football League playoffs. Now, the Arena Football League they
(03:20):
announced that there will be a newtelevision deal. Now they haven't announced what
television network that is officially, butbecause of that deal, they expanded the
playoffs from five teams to six teams, though that allowed the sixth seed Nashville
Casts to be in the postseason. Now that news was announced live on the
(03:42):
Orlando Predators show, The Breakdown Live. The owner of the Predators. He
said, we'll be on TV twiceon July six for the first round,
twice again for the next round, and then the Arena Bowl. That was
later confirmed. This week, theArena Football League announced those playoffs and the
location for the Arena Bowls. Solet's quickly look at those postseason matchups.
(04:04):
So again, the Billings Outlaws andthe Albany Firebirds. They will finish one
in two as the top seeds, they will have a first round by now.
In the first round, it willbegin on July fifth, with the
number four seed Orlando Predators hosting thenumber six seed Nashville Cats. That game
will be at seven pm Eastern Time. Then on July six, to number
(04:27):
three seeds to Line of Liberty willhost the number five seeds Southwest Kansas Storm
at four pm Eastern Time. Now, the winners of those games will travel
either to the Outlaws or the Firebirds, depending on where they finished in those
games. Now, the Arena FootballLeague has picked New Jersey as its site
for the upcoming Arena Bowl. ArenaBowl thirty three now the game, according
(04:51):
to a league release on Thursday,June twenty seven, the championships will be
held at American Dream Entertainment in retailcenter, and that's in eastbrut the of
for New Jersey on July nineteenth. Now that'll be part of a three day
series of events, so that willbegin on July eighteenth and ending on July
(05:11):
twentieth. American Dream it's actually alarge mall. It's the second largest mall
in the United States. It's avenue for retail, dining, attractions,
and entertainment. But they are alsobranching into the sports world. They had
some hockey events and it look likethey had some wrestling events back in the
(05:31):
day. Parlom Globetrotters also just announcedthe residency there later this summer. So
now the Arena Football League is justexpanding. I guess they're going to be
part of that expansion for American Dream. They did announced tickets. You can
find that through the Arena Football League'swebsite. We also have a link on
our website Arena Insider dot com. Now, again, that game will be
(05:55):
held on July nineteenth, though,we'll see what happened within those games.
You can check out those stories andwe also have some pictures of what American
Tream, what it looks like andwhat we could assume the venue will look
like for that game. Now,I forgot to mention as I was breaking
down the playoff matchups, all ofthe six playoff teams will be on a
(06:17):
bye this weekend. There will onlybe one game and that's the Wichita Regulators
at the Washington wolf Pack. Bothof those teams are out of playoff contention,
so they will play this last gameand they will be the end of
the regular season and again the playoffswill start next week. Now, before
we wrap up this show, didwant to mention because since the last episode,
(06:42):
we never broke down Zach Bugg, the former owner of the West Texas
Desert Hawks, who have now seizedoperations, and they seized operations at an
interesting time because they were actually inthe mix. They likely would have made
the playoffs. But of course withthem season operations, it called to shift
in some of the standings and whichever. But Zach Buk shared a lot of
(07:03):
information about his departure, mostly regardingthe previous regime of the Arena Football League.
Here's a few clips from that falsepromises, false promises without a doubt
from saying, hey, we're goingto cover you know, one thousand dollars
a week per player for payroll. You know, you calculate that twenty one
(07:24):
players, hundred thousand, twenty onethousand a week times ten, two hundred
and ten thousand dollars came off thetop of our bottom line from false promises
of the AFL. And this isto go to show that you know,
it was a scam to begin with, and I honored that. I can
honestly say here in West Texas,we honored that. And every player knows
(07:44):
that that's ever signed with us.Now, because the Desert Hawks were going
to be in the mix for theplayoffs, it's interesting that they seized operations
right before now. Bug made noticethat he said he has some respect for
some of the individuals of G sixSports, but he didn't like that direction
that G six Sports was going whenit when it came to putting their money
(08:05):
into the playoffs and an the ArenaBowl. Here's what he had to say
about that. You know, theownership group of G six I do have
respect for certain individuals of G sixSports. There are deals in place,
you know, with their their mediadeals that they're paying money for also with
(08:28):
the Arena Bowl, and they're payingmoney for this arena bowl instead of giving
them money back to the owners thathave suffered. All of us owners have
suffered this entire time. But insteadof giving those dollars back to us owners,
they would rather put it in mediadeals to make themselves look good and
also an arena bil arena bowl tomake them look good so they can,
(08:50):
you know, potentially have the AFLnext year to save face. And honestly,
I don't stand for that. That'snot what I'm about. I'm about
the owners and all of us ownershave suffered and we deserve the and we
haven't gotten the best, so financially, it just doesn't make sense anymore.
And I'm not going to continue tomake the AFL look good whenever they're not
giving back in return. Instead they'refocused on signing deals to make themselves look
(09:11):
good versus making the teams and theowners look good. So a lot was
said during that Facebook live event, and you can read our full recap on
our website arenasider dot com. Wehave a lot of other stories from over
the last couple of days that havehappened across the Arena Football League, so
go ahead and check those stories out. Also follow us on our social media

the time that we have for thisshow. I'm Anthony Carter. Thank you
