Rapid City Marshals to use replacement players, other top headlines ahead of Week 5

First with the latest breaking news outof Rapid City, South Dakota. So
the Rapid City Marshalls announced that itplans to play with replacement players ahead of
Thursday's game against the Washington wolf Pack. Now the stems from a week's long
dispute between the players, owners andthe Arena Football League. So on Wednesday

night, the Marshall state on socialmedia that only two of its players were
willing to travel to the game.The team said it had to work with
the wolf Pack's ownership group to recruitplayers to play for them. Now.
Back on May seventeenth, Andrew Lendof local station Kota reported that about ten
players left the Marshalls and only aboutten players remained on the roster, and
if you recall, on May eleventh, the Marshalls players took a stand and

forfeited its home game against the BillingsOutlaws as players refused to leave the locker
room. Co owner Wes Johnson sharedthe statement along with Wednesday's news, saying,
get part quote the challenges we havefaced beginning with the field commitments of
Lee Hutton and Arena Football Management LLC, have undoubtedly disrupted all of the plans
and ambitions Rebecca and I have forthis season. He went on to say,

quote, we understand the lack ofcommunication from us, but we have
also had limited confirmed information to communicateas of right now to Marshall's team is
working with other league owners in administrationon the remaining games of this season.
Now, speaking of the wolf Pack, the players are faced with a reduced

salary. So on May seventeenth,owners Kelly fi Hey, Miguel Morga and
Mike Thomas shared a letter with fansupdating them on the state of the team.
They claimed the league, under formercommission of Lee Hutt and the Third
agreed to pay players salaries and theteam's travel to away games, but they
say they did not receive any money. The owners then changed its financial model

and offered the players a reduced salarybecause of the lack of compensation and the
statement, the owners said, inpart quote, our ownership group decided to
pay our players in good faith andpressure d Arena Football League to honor its
obligations. Our current player roster hasbeen offered a revised compensation structure that we
feel is competitive with indoor football.Our players have been distressed by the withholding

of these league payments to its players. So the wolf Pack and the Marshalls
are scheduled to play on Thursday nightto kick off week five. Now,
just some other quick league updates.The Billings Outlaws will be on a bye
for a week five. They werescheduled to play the south West Kansas Storm,
but the Oregon Black Bears will insteadtravel to play the Storm for them
this weekend. So while there's noofficial reason behind the change, it is

important to note that there are eleventeams, which means every week a team
will have to be on a buyso this announcement could be a result of
that, so just want to makethat clear and the Black Bears. Speaking
of the Black Bears reached an agreementwith the league to continue playing the rest
of this season, so the teamwas initially going to shut down along with
