Speaker 3 (03:52):
Amen, Amen, Amen, Amen, Let's dig off in it this
because I want all of it now, you know, on
it all. Tell me everything, you know. So so my
first question is for you tonight, ladies and gentlemen. Again,
this is Lady Kate, you know, just you know, just
in case you don't know. Now she she from my
(04:13):
home state, now you know, you know, And so we're
right down the road from each other, you know, Praise
the Lord.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
But we had to come to Texas to meet. Yes,
what almighty God we served he is. But uh, but
Lady Kate, tell me just just give us a.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Brief you know, uh, you know, understanding about how you
got started in the ministry.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Oh, okay, I'm gonna make it a clip note because
it's at the age of three.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
My grandfather was a well well, he was a quartet singer.
He sung many many groups. So as a young girl,
he introduced me to my first mic and I did
my first solo at the age of five and acquire
a little wooden church in the country of Morning Sports, Louisiana.
(05:16):
And from that point on I grew in my ministry
from going from church to church in the North Kettle
area of the North Corner pocket of Louisiana. And it
expounded with me learning how to play the piano, learning
(05:39):
how to sing in a group. They traveled from the
top of Louisiana to the bottom Louisiana. It was called
North Kettle Community Choir, and then graduated from that playing
for my own church at the age of fourteen until
about maybe I would say, two thousand and seven team,
(06:00):
So I was playing for a pretty long time.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
I had thirty plus years.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
But I got started with my own group after my
son died, my youngest son. He died in two thousand
and seven, and God had already gave me a lot
of songs, and I was writing songs and actually playing
them in church, not copyreading.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
And I didn't know anything about copywriting then because I
was young.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
I was just excited that the Lord was using me
writing songs. And people would ask who who who wrote that?
Who sings that? That sounds good? And y'all forgive me?
I lied, I said, I don't know who wrote that,
but you know we're gonna keep on sing, you know,
not knowing that you know, copyright was very you know
(06:48):
sensitive back then.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Yeah, But in.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
Two thousand and eight, after my the death of my son,
I formed a group with my other family members called
Relatives and Unity, and we went out, traveled the East Coast,
won a couple awards with one of the famous songs
called right There.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
And at that time, my other family members.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
Couldn't travel like I could. You know, God had a
different road to travel, and so.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
I went out.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
I stepped out on faith, and I started doing Lady
Katrina and then went from Lady Katrina to.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Lady k and the rest is history.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
I've been traveling across seas and in different continents and countries,
singing the name Jesus all over the place, and I
elevated not only in ministry and music, but also in
evangelistic work.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
And yeah, it's big. It's more than I can handle. God.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
God is good like that.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
I guarantee you is like that.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
So now, how has the journey been?
Speaker 5 (08:01):
You know?
Speaker 3 (08:01):
I mean, because I understand you say that you had
to separate from your family and you had to kind
of do the solo.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Thing, you know, And I knew it gets a little lonely.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Out there sometime, you know, But tell us about that experience,
you know, because he separates us for himself. Oh yeah, yeah,
So tell me how that's been with you.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Being the only child. It put me back in a
place of being the only child again. I like family.
I love family, and God knows that. You know, I
love being around family. But when it came down to him,
I had to choose choose family or choose him. And
when I chose him, he put me in the pit.
(08:46):
And people don't understand the pit scenario. When it came
down to Joseph, they felt like the family dogged him
out of family, he did him wrong by putt him.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
In the pit.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
But that was God's design order for him to go
in the pit, because the pit was the place where
he he found his personal relationship with God. And so
by me being by myself traveling in these planes and
these trains and in these cars and boats by myself,
that gives me the opportunity to have that intimate relationship
(09:16):
with God. So I can hear him clearly on the
assignment that he has for me. People of God, we
need to realize that when God separates us from the person, place,
and things of life, that we definitely things we we
chime into, or we embed ourselves into the most God said,
(09:39):
I don't want you to make that higher than me.
I don't want you to, you know, put that in
the place of me. I need you to make sure
I'm first in your life. Seek ye first the Kingdom
of God, and.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Then everything else will be added.
Speaker 5 (09:54):
God said, I'll give you everything else you desire and
everything else you want, but first, put me first.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
First, love, Let me be the first thing on your mind.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Amen. So is that how the song I Choose You
come to be?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
You know, because you made the declaration of God and
I choose you over everything?
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Oh? Yeah, yeah, you know?
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Uh so so uh when when when? When God?
Speaker 2 (10:21):
When?
Speaker 3 (10:21):
When God wants us to he he wants us to himself.
He said, he's jealous, you know. And I don't look,
I don't mind him being jealous over me.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
You know. Hey, look because look he.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Got everything that we need when we needed, how we needed,
where we needed, you know, and so uh and all
we really need is is him, you know, That's all
we really need, you know. So so so now before
before we uh introduced the song uh to to the people,
(10:57):
what are you?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
What are your desires now for the ministry? Where you
look to go with the ministry?
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Now my future plans?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Well here, recently I was considered one of the stele nominemes.
So my goal, my future looks very bright right now
because if I'm considered for the sellers.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
That means next time I will be on the sellers.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
So my future is long as I keep God first,
long as I keep believing that God is the author
and the finisher of my faith. As long as I
keep believing that if I trust Him and never doubts
that everything that my heart desires, as long as God's
will is in the middle of the wheel, It'll happen.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yeah, so tell us about the song. I look to
you to tell us about how that song resonates. You know,
how was birthed.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Okay, so that's someone's birth back in twenty seventeen, and
what was going on in my life was that I
couldn't let go of some things that was causing me
to be depressed ten years out from my son's death.
A couple of other relatives that were very significant in
(12:23):
my life. They transitioned going through a bad, bad relationship into.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
A what became a death.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
From a from a husband, and so all of that
compiled on top of each other.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
You know, I was just I was I forget it.
I'm done, I'm done. God, I'm done with this.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
I'm done with that because every time I go through something,
it's just it just ends in failure. And God put
me on my back and I couldn't do anything but
looked to him. My mom had My mom had been.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Dead for since since nineteen ninety five. My father died
in nineteen ninety seven.
Speaker 5 (13:13):
My grandfather who was my dad, died in nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
My aunt who raised me died in two thousand and nine.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Best cousins, best friends like my sister died right behind that.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
So it was like death, depth, dep dep death, and
now I'm laying on my back and.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
They have given me the death sentence, and I'm like,
I can't die because I have a son that needs me.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
I can't die.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
But yet I've given God the death sentence out of
my life. And he's the one who created me.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Amen.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
And so when I was letting my back, I said, God,
I don't have no other person to look to but
to you, right, I know, I'm upset with you. And
he didn't say I couldn't get upset with him.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
He said, you can. You can throw a petport, you
can have a temper tantrum.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
I'm thinking, daddy.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
And after you get through power, and after you get
through crying, it's smarting and throwing toys up against the wall,
then you still have to come back to me. And
that's where that song was birth, because I had to
look to him. I looked around the world and saw
things were just in turmoil.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
My family had.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
Turned their back on me, friends had either gone or transition.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
I was by myself.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
I was back to where I was when my mom
had me.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
I was the lonely child, the only child, and now
a lonely child. And God said, okay, where are you
going to? Who are you going to run to now? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I want you to hear this song.
I want you to watch this video, you know, so
we'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
I look to you, h sho, why are.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
You not dressed?
Speaker 6 (15:23):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Come on, long time?
Speaker 4 (15:26):
See that's what I'm talking about right there? A family
days and y'all let him do it.
Speaker 7 (15:41):
Dear God, this world isn't.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
I look to you for protection, guidance, wisdom, and strength.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
This world sings dark, got cold, people don't care anybody.
Speaker 8 (16:12):
Family, love isn't the same. No one wants to change.
Speaker 6 (16:24):
Society's dark God, people don't laugh anybody.
Speaker 7 (16:34):
Family values an't the same? Tell me who do we blame?
Speaker 8 (16:49):

Speaker 2 (17:24):

Speaker 7 (17:30):
Child? You gave your life.
Speaker 8 (17:40):

Kingdom for my youngsters, and.

Yeah that's yeah, that was it. Yeah, those two songs
I can't I can't remember because I'm working on another
two more songs. That's getting them confused. But we do
are bringing out two more songs and the Men of
the Summer, and they are entitled Yes and the Holy Chant,
So stay tuned for that.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
We were actually going to have a live video of
the Holy Chant.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
Uh that's being recorded live this summer at a conference,
so stay tuned for that.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Now, where's the where's the conference gonna be?

The conference is actually going to be in Memphis, Tennessee,
under the direction of Bishop Bracy, Josh Bracy.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Okay, okay, yeah, well you all be looking out for
that now, you know. And now look, you know what
we do. I need y'all to do this. Do this
for me.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
You know.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Call that person that you haven't talked to for a
while and tell him say, look, you know, I'm thinking
about you, you know, and I just want to I
just want to tell you I love you and I
miss you.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
You know.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
Whatever it was that that got us off track, you know,
forgive me, you know where I was wrong, and I
promise I'll forgive you, you know. And we're gonna love
each other the heaven amen, you know, because that's what
God told us to do. He said, love you one
another as I have loved you, you know, And so
we want to be found guilty, you know, of loving
one another, because the thing is about it. Without love,
(24:05):
you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven. Without forgiveness,
you cannot be forgiven, you know. So you know, let's
just be mindful to follow you follow that word. You
say you're a Christian, Well, that means you.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Got to be like Christ, you know.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
And Christ was accing for forgiveness for us even on
the cross, right, So so so let's just be you know,
found guilty.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Of saying, you know, I forgive you, please forgive me.
I love you with the love of God, you know.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
And and let's learn to live, you know, because carrying
around that you know is not living that you know,
that's too close to death for me, because he said
the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Is eternal life. Amen. So call that person a man
and tell.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Him saying, look, I love you, I love you, and
I love you and it ain't nothing you can do
about it, but come on, love me back.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
It's all, you know, Lady lady, Okay, I.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Really appreciate you being here with us around God strong,
and I hope that we can get together. I'm gonna
ask God to let me get on stage, which is
because I like what you do.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
You know, yeah, you know.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
And like I said, since we both from the same
negative woods, we need to go down and lose in
and and and and kick a gumbo off or something.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
I would love that, you know.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
So. Uh So, Now.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
When when you are where you live in Dallas now
or where are you living on?
Speaker 4 (25:34):
I am actually in Birmingham.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Oh you're in the Bama all right.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
I'm in Birmingham.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
Yeah, doing some big things with my husband, Apostle Kevin on.
So I'm so excited about that. And he allows me
to travel the roads with my companions that travel with
me to minister in song and in word a lot
(26:03):
wherever the Lord has assigned us to go, he give
us his blessings and we go and come back and
do it all over again. So I'm excited for the
things that God has already aligned for us to do
in the next couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Actually, Amen, praise the Lord.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Well at this time, ladies and gentlemen, I'm gonna say
I thank you for being with us around God's throne,
and I hope to.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
See you next time.
Speaker 7 (26:29):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
