Speaker 2 (00:57):
I'm just hi and welcome to a round Godstrong. I'm
your host Ricky Paul. And today, ladies and gentlemen, we
want to just honor the fathers. You know, Father's Day
is coming up and we just want to you know,
give them, you know their due. Amen. So at this time,

(01:20):
blessed is the man that walks. Is not in the
council of the ungodly, nor standing in the way of
the sinners, nor sitting in the seat of his going
for but his delight is in the law of the Lord.
And then his law do he meditate day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers

(01:41):
of water that bring it forth his fruit and his season.
His leaves also shall not wither, and whatsoever he do
with shall prosper. God, I thank you for everything. I
just want to tell you that you've been an awesome
God to me. You have blessed me going out and

(02:03):
coming in. You bless me in the cities and in
the fields of God. Oh God, every way that I turn,
you bless me. You bless me with a wonderful father,
an awesome, beautiful mother. You bless me with brothers and
sisters that I love, dearly nieces and nephews, cousins, uncles

(02:26):
and aunties. God, I thank you. You have truly blessed
my life. You've opened doors that I didn't even see.
You've closed doors, Oh God, that was meant to harm me.
Oh God. When the enemy came up against me, they
stumbled and fell because of your love for me. God,

(02:48):
I thank you right now in Jesus' name. I thank
you for everything that you do for me.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Oh God.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I thank you for my lovely wife. I thank you
for thirty three years that you've given us to be together.
And Lord, I asked that you just continue to open
up the doors and open up the ways for us.
So that we can bring your word to the masses
and sown and scripture. However, you will have us deliver

(03:16):
your word. Oh God, we thank you in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen, Amen,
Well again, ladies and jonmen. I just like to say
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers. And a lot
of times we don't give Daddy what he's doing, you know,
but Daddy is the backbone of the house. You know,

(03:40):
he's the head of the house. You know, he's the
one that leads us to understand what life is really
about as men. You know, now we're not taking anything
away from month. We talk about Daddy right now. We
talk about the role that Daddy. He teaches his boys
the way of the Lord. He teaches us how, you know,

(04:03):
to deal with life, and he shows us by his example,
how to take care of a family. You know, how
to honor God, you know how to be respectful you know,
to people in the community. You know, I would like
to just take the time and just tell you about
my dad, because my dad was you know, in my eyes,

(04:24):
he was always a king. He was always awesome.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Man.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Now my dad wasn't but about five seven, but when
I was, when I was coming up. I. You know,
he looked like a giant to me, you know, and
the way that he handled things, the way that he
he did things in the community, how people looked up
to him, you know. But the thing is, he was
a man of honor and dignity, you know, and his

(04:52):
word was his bond. If he told you he was
going to do something, that's exactly what my daddy did.
You know. That taught me that that was the that
was the way to be, because you know, other men
in the city, you know, uh, in the countryside would
come to my father, you know, to uh get advice
from him because of the way he was, you know.

(05:15):
And so that's the mark of a good man. You know.
I just want to tell you, I I you know,
the Bible say that a good name is better than
choice gold. If you if your wordy ain't no good,
you know, you you in a bad You're in a
bad situation, you know. And uh uh you know, there
was some times in my life where you know, uh,

(05:37):
I didn't understand some of the things that my father was,
you know, was doing, you know. But but even in
in my not understanding, he was still planting seeds in
my life. He was planting seeds in my my brother's life,
you know, and he was teaching us how to be men,
even when we didn't understand that he was doing that. Now, now,
my father wasn't the only one, because we were raised

(05:59):
around other men that were that was that were family men,
you know, that believed in and and and and and
loving and chastising, and they believed in and honoring their
wives and you know. So so the thing is, we
just had to we just had to catch the vision,
you know. And uh, uh my, my, my, my father

(06:24):
he worked for uh for the railroad, and uh, all
my life he worked for the railroad, you know, all
my you know, young life, he worked for the railroad.
And and as a matter of fact, he retired from
the railroad. Uh but uh he it was a steady
it was a steady you know of work it was.

(06:45):
And he was always building, always building, you know, And
that in itself taught me something. You can't just be
like a grasshopper, jump from one thing to the next
and accept and expect to you know, be good at anything.
And you you have to tie something down in your life,
you know. And uh uh and I'm gonna tell you

(07:06):
something else about them. Man, you know my dad include
they went to church, they praised God, they prayed to God,
you know, and so even in that they were covering us,
you know, because the prayers of the righteous availeth munch,

(07:27):
you know. And uh, you know, I just have to say,
couldn't have had no better upbringing than to watch the
example of my father. You know, my father, you know,
when he got off work, you know, he made a
straight line, you know, to home, you know, because you know,

(07:47):
he taught us how to He taught us how to
scrap iron, He taught us how to plant gardens, He
taught us how to plant crops in the field so
that you know, to to to uh supplement the income
that he had come and in. You know, he taught
us how to do these things because he knew that
one day we may, you know, we might have to
do that for ourselves. And so, you know, I thank

(08:09):
my father for everything that he had poured into me,
you know. But the one thing I really really got
to say I appreciate my father for was the fact
that he took us to church. He didn't send us
to church. He took us to church, you know. And
you know, I hear people talk about you know, well,
you know, you know, I'm tired. I meant, you know,

(08:33):
I got I got three children, and I'm just woe out.
My father and mother raised seventeen children, and they kept
us in church. As a matter of fact, that's why
I got my That's why I got my footing, you know.
And music from was in church. You know, when you
don't take your children to church, you you doing them

(08:55):
a disservice, because that's what they learned about the Almighty God.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
You know.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Because let's be honest, when you're at home and you
got that remote in your hand, you ain't you ain't
think about God too much. You think about watching the
next TV program. You know. But but, but but you
ought to just take out some time and take your
children to church, you know, the way they did back
in the day, you know, because we needed that. We

(09:25):
needed that, you know. And uh, and I'm gonna tell
you something else. I just want to say this to you.
Love your daddy. You know. Now, he might not be perfect,
you know, you might think he's the worst jack joker
in the world. But love your dad. The Bible told
us to love one another. Ain't tell us the judge
one another he said, love you one another as I

(09:47):
have loved you. I'm gonna tell you right now, there's
a lot of days I wish I could sit and
talk with my dad. You know. I miss him a lot.
I miss him terribly, you know. And uh. And I've
always respected my father, you know, because he was my father,
you know. Uh, But there's sometimes I just like to

(10:10):
sit and run things by him. You know, what do
you think about this? And what do you think about that?
And how you think you know I should handle this?
So you know, what do you you know? Things like that?
I wish I could just go fishing with him, you know,
wish I could just sit and talk to him, just
you know, about nothing. You know. So love your father

(10:31):
while you have him here, you know, go buy him
a gift here and that. And if you ain't got
money enough to go buy him a gift, just go
and walk up to him and hug him and tell me, Dad,
you've done a good job. Man. I appreciate you, you know.
And if you know, because a lot of times that
means more to men than than than than present. We
don't ready care about presence, you know, but we do

(10:55):
want to know that you respect us. And love us
enough to you know, let us know, you know. But
but I I just be honest with you. I miss
my dad a great deal. And uh, as a matter
of fact, I wrote a song about missing my father,
you know, and so and the and the title of

(11:15):
the song is I miss my Daddy, and I'd like
for you to hear it, and I'd like for you
to watch the video if you if, if, if you
would like to and so at this time, you know,
I'm gonna let you check that video out and and uh,
and I'll be right back. And it's entitled I miss
my Daddy. I'll be right back. H h.

Speaker 3 (11:52):

You know.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
And uh, I think Dad is all over the world
should be honored, you know. I mean because a lot
of times you don't know the stress that they go through.
A lot of times you don't know, you don't know
the things they have to deal with out in life.
You know, all you see is daddy coming home, you know,
with his lunch pail under his arm. And you know,

(19:04):
well today they don't carry lunch pails. That was back
in the day. But uh uh we might come on
with a McDonald's bag these days. But praise the Lord,
uh we we we We still don't know the stress
that he went through to make that eight hours or
to make that twelve hour on that job, you know.
So so I just want to tell you to make

(19:25):
sure you love your love, your dad, you know, and
and give him, you know, all the love that you know,
all the love that you have in your heart, give
it to your daddy, okay. And at this time, I
just want to tell you, you know, call that person
that call that person, tell me that you love him,
whoever it is. And and uh and forgive them, you know,

(19:51):
forgive yourself, you know, learn to love one another, you know.
And because I guarantee you at the end of the day,
we all want to be able to tell God thank you. Amen.
I just want to tell him thank you about all
the things that he done, you know. I want to
thank you for every every thing my father told me

(20:11):
while he was here, you know. And so listen, that
looked I want you to hear this song this say.
