Doors well Welcome to agg Live, your Thursday night home
for everything Star Wars, star Wars news, star Wars interviews,
star Wars conversations, star Wars, made up stuff, whatever. I'm
one of your host, Pete fletzerm here with my co

(02:02):
host and good friend Nick Milky.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Nick, how is it going?

Speaker 7 (02:06):
We have to expand what the Star Wars offerings we're giving.
I mean, we're already doing game shows. We're doing stupid merchandise.
I don't know if it's hairstyles. I don't know if
it's you know, career advice we're gonna have to venture into.
If we're gonna go with Star Wars career advice, I'm
gonna go ahead and tell you upfront, don't become a stormtrooper.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
It's not gonna be good.

Speaker 7 (02:27):
That's that's your I'm your life coach.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Now. Congratulations.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
The guidance counselor who tells you to become a stormtrooper
doesn't care about you. It does not see a bright
future for you. They're just collecting a bayjeck. Yes, well,
we uh, we have been doing this now for oh
quite some time, and this is another wonderfully fun Thursday night.
You don't think interestingly, even with a new Star Wars

(02:52):
movie about a year away. Uh the hell, little Andrew, Andrew.
I think Andrew just became a patron. By the way, Andrew,
thank you so much. You are our latest patron and
we appreciate you so much for doing that. Thank you
for joining us. When you're saying good morning, where's he
calling you from? Where's he watching? It's amazing? But yeah,

(03:15):
what was I saying? Yeah, so with so much, you know,
the end of and door a long time until the
next wave of Star Wars comes out. This week, every
time I went on Twitter and social media, every time
you went online, Nick, it was another news story, another
news story, another news story. So tonight's show, when we
kick into full gear, is going to be just our

(03:36):
whole around the Galaxy in the style of Around the
Horn Show, the whole night, because there's so much to do,
so many points to compete for. And of course we
have a very special guest who should be joining us shortly,
mister John Roca, so he'll be here very soon. But
you know, Nick, it's not around the Galaxy and atg
live with that our two back end geniuses that people

(03:59):
keep us in and the people who know more about
Star Wars than we actually do. Let's start with mister Chris.
Ryan's Chris, How you doing, buddy good?

Speaker 3 (04:07):
That's a good one. Okay, Yes, I'm blind all right? Cool?
Well you're good. How where are you doing? All right? Doing?
All right? Sorry, everything was last minute me getting getting
here and whatnot.

Speaker 8 (04:19):
But you're here. I'm just happy to see happy, I'm here.
It's awesome Star Wars. Whenever you gents are ready.

Speaker 6 (04:27):
Yes, and of course we have our producer at large,
Kelsey Pucket. Kelsey, how are you.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I'm doing all right. I've missed you guys.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
Yeah, you know, I'm good. I mean not the same
with that. You know for a fact that last week's
show was a nightmare if you guys weren't here, that
you were both gone.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
And I'm so sorry.

Speaker 9 (04:48):
I'm so sorry about like literally the actual nightmares you
were having this week.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
That's true. I did.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
I literally had nightmares about the show this week that
I shared.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
With supposed to be funny guys.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Come on, Kaylee is in the house. Hi, Kaylee? How
are you? Uh so? Yeah, we have a lot of
fun coming up and a lot of uh what happened
this week? Did I miss something?

Speaker 7 (05:16):
Oh, it was probably slandering comic books.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
If yeah, we're sticking to the that's no.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
Last week it was just Nick and I and I
had to produce again, which I it was. If you
want to talk about miss cues, if you want to
talk about wrong layouts, if you want to talk wrong commercials.
It was just a nightmare. It was not well done,
but we had it was an interesting and fun show
because we had some normies on it. We had a
different perspective on on Star Wars and reminded ourselves that we, uh,

(05:46):
we should probably get out a little bit more off and.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Really we didn't.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
We probably didn't spend enough time focused on the fact
that of the four people that were on this show
last week, three of them live in Alabama ganging up
on the New Jersey guy and somehow us you still survive,
So I.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Mean you got attacked by the South and like survived.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
So I did. I absolutely.

Speaker 7 (06:10):
Here's here's what Matt's talking about. I said it was
better than Empire strikes Back.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah about that? That was that's that is certainly what
we would.

Speaker 9 (06:22):
Also, I just wanted to let you know, like the incompetence,
like it's kind of cute.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
We like it makes for uh, I don't know what
it makes for, but.

Speaker 9 (06:35):
Your brain for the show, Pete, Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 6 (06:40):
Well, yeah, so we But hopefully this week will be
a little bit better. We have a ton of Star
Wars stuff to talk about. But before we do that,
you know, we had mentioned we have we haven't talked
a lot about this too much.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
This year.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
We have had We have our are now nual baseball
bet with Nick has selected Braves once again.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Who they're winning.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
They're going to beat the Phills in this in the nightcap,
but it's still we took two out of three from them.
Kelsey took the Tigers, which it's final end of She
took the Tigers, which I just sort of chuckled at
when she said, and who would have thought they're having
there there at multiple times this season the number one

(07:28):
team in the league, and I took the pill So
if we were to cut now and I'm gonna give
the I'm gonna give the Braves the win tonight. So
based on based on that, I trailed the Tigers. The
Phillies trail the Tigers by half a game, and the
Braves trail by ten games, which means that, which means

(07:49):
that if this were to end today, I would owe
a dollar into the pot of the gift before Kelsey
and Nick, you would owe up to twenty dollars at
this moment. So what we should do is we should
have to buy it from bro Axiom. That way we
keep all four of us well better.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
Now we're talking can seem like a punishment, though, I'm like, I.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
Get that, not to me, so, but we're in. We're
we love to keep doing that and keep that out going. So,
but we also have to start with our toast before
we get to uh, mister Rocca and our around the
galaxy feature for the evening. So Nick, why don't you

(08:35):
give us the toast? And what are we toasting to
this evening from Mayllennium Falcon.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
You know it is the last toast for the month
of May and our Mayllennium Falcon. And I'll be perfectly honest,
I'm not sure what we're toasting to tonight.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
So we have we have our beer port up. She's back.
That's right, We're gon we're gonna toast. Actually, that's exact
what we're gonna do.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
We're gonna toast to Chris and Kelsey, because based on
our experiences last week, we can't do this really well
without the two of you. So here's to the producers
in all of our lives who help us get shit done,
who help us look good.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
And I'm going to say.

Speaker 7 (09:16):
Pete, you got the video ready, I got tears and
happy Millennium Falcon.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
She may not look like much, she's got it. Word counts, kid.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
That was the last Millennium Falcon of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 9 (09:37):
Oh, I feel like we need to make these shorter
because Nick is too good at chugging. It's insane.

Speaker 6 (09:46):
I think he's getting better as the year goes on,
and I think I don't know if we should be
excited for me about that either.

Speaker 9 (09:51):
Well, like, I really thought I was good at chugging
beers until I met you, and I was like, Nope,
this is embarrassing.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
This is not what I thought I I that I
thought I had.

Speaker 7 (10:02):
Yes, we're gonna we're gonna slow it down now with
some magic from across the pond.

Speaker 6 (10:10):
Okay, I you know I'm a beer fan, but I cannot.
I can't. I just can't spend an evening drinking again.
It's it's it's a little too much, so for me
any I'll take a bullet for you, my friend. I
appreciate that. Thank you, Thank you for doing that. Well,
we're gonna take a quick break when we come back
and talk to mister John Roka, the Outlaw, the Hot Mic,

(10:32):
the the Outlaw Nation, and then we're gonna hop into
what seems to be an overabundance of Star Wars news
for the week. So we're gonna take a quick break
and we'll be right back with more atg Live. Hey, guys,
we have a great show. We have a lot of
fun stuff coming up, and I am excited. I'm not

(10:52):
even gonna go through a bump or anything. I'm just
gonna pull him in because I was just watching him live,
so I know he's.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Ready to go. Here's John Roca, John, how are you hello? Everyone?

Speaker 10 (11:02):
How's it going, guys? Thank you so much for having me,
and good to see Nick. My man, I'm blown hard,
brother man. Please, I don't know what he's talking about.
You and I can knock back a whole six back again.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
This is one night I gots right anytime, anytime. Stoutser King, y'all,
stoutzer King's Manta.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
So so John, before we get into all the Star
Wars news and stuff. For the you know, point seven
percent of the people who watch us, who may not
know who you are, just give us. Let's get your
let's get your plugs. Let's tell everybody where they can
follow you, because after they watch you tonight, they're gonna
want to keep up with you, for sure.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
I hope. So yeah, yeah, definitely.

Speaker 10 (11:35):
I host I run an outlay called The Outlaw Nation
on YouTube uh and I host a number of shows
on there were The biggest one, of course, is the
Hot Mic with me and Jeff Snyder dropping scoops and
getting into a bunch of battles, debates, and on conversations
about everything going on in the world of entertainment.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
The Geek Buddies, which is a great podcast I host
as well.

Speaker 10 (11:54):
Show I host on the channel as well, Spill the Tequila,
The Jedi Away, which is the host show I have
with Kevin Spence and or Kelly where we talk all
things Star Wars. And of course some people know me
from years ago being in the Schmolla down being the Alloy.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
It seems like like dust on that memory.

Speaker 10 (12:08):
It's been so long while. But yeah, but That's what
I do in my life. And I also do voice
overs and I co host The Centophiles, which is a
podcast I do on film. So I'm constantly working, constantly busy.
But when when Pete calls, I answer. So thank you
Pete and Nick for having me on well, and I love.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Beard, Pete. The Beard is now. Yeah, I'm working it.
I'm trying to work it. You know, I've got to
do It's white. The rest of it's all. I just
gotta you know, you gotta do something with it.

Speaker 7 (12:35):
It's getting that captain Captain Rex cosplay ready, that's right,
it's right, balance skull.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
I'm gonna do one of the two. I gotta. I
gotta pull that one off.

Speaker 6 (12:44):
So, so before we get into you're familiar with Around
the Horn, I know, because you're a big sports guy,
all right, Yes, and our friend Cloniates, uh, you know,
in honor of him. We put the show together this
way and we did it with him a couple of
weeks ago, and we've been doing it ever since. We've
been having some fun with it. But before we get

(13:05):
to that, I got to get your opinion on and
or high level opinion. It's either where did you come
down on and or season two.

Speaker 10 (13:14):
I've seen the season twice now I will probably work
my way through it a third time in the next
couple of weeks. I have to say it is the
greatest piece of Star Wars entertainment that I personally have
ever watched, witnessed, or experienced. And it's no denigration to
Empire or a new Hope or people loving Revenge of
the Sith. But for me personally, it is the most

(13:37):
amazing piece of Star Wars content I've ever seen. And
I said this back in twenty fifteen when I stumbled
ass backwards into this career, but I was co hosting
Far Far Away with the great Tiffany Smith, that I
wanted a Star Wars that would be ground based and
gritty and have a commentary on what's going on in
our world and still retain the fantastical elements. And this

(14:00):
season absolutely did it. And so yeah, it's one of
the most ama I can't believe it got made, Like
still can't believe it got made.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
It's so incredible.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
Yeah, no, for sure, and it's it's we absolutely you
know here on the show we loved it as well,
and we were yeah, you're right, it's it's it's wild
to have such a current social commentary at the same
time as being wildly entertaining and not hitting you over

(14:30):
the head with it. I think there was you know,
I think it was it became prescient for people. We
saw it differently because of the world we're in. But
it wasn't you know, it wasn't labeling people, it wasn't
labeling the situation. It just happened and you were like,
this is important now. So yeah, so that was yeah,
that was what nature.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
It is amazing.

Speaker 10 (14:51):
Yeah, I mean it's kind of hard to miss when
you see stuff happening in the world and then you
see it mirrored, the fact that this shot was shot
two years ago. You're almost like all, hell, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Well I think that's that's where the good Star Wars
is rooted.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
It's rooted in both history and current events. And unfortunately
history we're seeing it happen again. Right, It's just it's
just it's a real shame. But but let's get out
of the darkness. Let's have some fun and I'm going
to uh, I'm gonna bring in our friends for around

(15:27):
the Galaxy.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Here we go. See. The thing is I never know
where people's faces are going to show up. But I

(15:48):
do this.

Speaker 6 (15:49):
I'm gonna move Kelsey over there. I'm gonna move us
over here, and I'm gonna do that there. And uh, Kelsey,
this is John John, this is Kelsey. Kelsey.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
All we're all.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Like, where where's your cowboy hat?

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Oh? It's up there in the closet.

Speaker 9 (16:13):
It should have been on tonight, Like I mean, like
we're going around the galaxy like you should have been
chipping that off.

Speaker 10 (16:21):
I should have got my board to be the woody,
the woody of this segment.

Speaker 9 (16:25):
You should have like I mean, like like just horribly
unprepared for this.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
I'm just like she's going to take points away from
me before, ye know, Like.

Speaker 9 (16:34):
I mean, like I duel at the points. So I'm like, already,
you're like starting.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Behind story of my life, the story.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
All right, well you want me to get.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yeah, let's let's dig into this. Let's let's have some fun.

Speaker 5 (16:53):
All right.

Speaker 9 (16:53):
Oh, So, like I mean, you guys already kind of
kicked off and or so after the final season of
and or is this the end.

Speaker 5 (17:01):
Of Star Wars Prestige TV. I'll go with you, John.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
First, that's a great question.

Speaker 10 (17:08):
I think as long as the current regime is in charge,
and yes, this happened under the current regime, but in
a way, it's almost like an else World's type of thing.
I think until the current regime is changed over, we
won't see anything like this again, anything remotely close to
prestige television like this again. I don't think this is
Feloni's instincts, and I don't think this is necessarily Kathleen

(17:29):
Kennedy's instincts, so I would be very surprised. So I
don't think we're going to see it until new management
comes in to run the franchise.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
What about you, Chris, I agree a little bit, but.

Speaker 8 (17:48):
It doesn't not everything has to be like and or
going forward, you know, but because we need the mystic
cool and the fantastical stuff too.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
But yeah, I mean, I.

Speaker 8 (18:00):
Think they're gonna they're gonna learn from this one, and
we're going to see something like this again. Just hopefully
not every project going forward is going to be in
this way, because I'm gonna be depressed watching Star Wars
all the time.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
That's how it's gonna be, and I'm gonna watch it.

Speaker 8 (18:20):
There was a baby at the end, Chris, There was
there was a baby way and I did smile.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Yeah, you know, I have to agree with John in
that I feel like this was sort of a once
in a what a rotation. I don't know, it's it's
not going to be a common way of doing things.
And I think one of the biggest challenges is watching
people put down other Star Wars as a result. Right,
I mean, Ahsoka had its own feel, Kenobi had its

(18:53):
own feel. Uh, you know, all the different shows have
their own look and feel, and the reality is it's
not all going to be like this. However, there was
something that was so rich and so tactile, and it
just felt so real. It just it was something that
I think we all loved and I would love to
see more of it. And I wonder if in Ahsoka

(19:17):
type of story, a Jedi type of story would work
in this vein. And I think the next time we're
going to see something this gritty is going to probably
be the Dawn of the Jedi movie. I just feel
like that's going to be in this sort of you know,
dark time, kind of really kind of not as shiny

(19:38):
and poppy as Star Wars can be. I think it's
going to be more in this vein, but I'm all
for it, so bring me more. But again recognizing if
you love and or, it doesn't mean that you can't
love Ahsoka and Grogu.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
So I think it's it's it's a fair point.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
Fair enough Nick, bring us home on this one.

Speaker 7 (20:00):
So while I do agree with what John said as
far as Filoni and Kennedy and this may not necessarily
you know, this could have been a little bit of
lightning in the bottle, I am going to say the
other half of that equation is there are some bean counters.
There are some people on the business side of this
who have looked at the success of this, and we've
seen it marketed differently than the Acolyte was. The Accolyte

(20:22):
had the potention to be somewhere in this neighborhood. There
were some editing issues, there are some other things. I
think they're willing to take another crack at it. I
don't think it's going to be Tony Gilroy because I
think this was his thing. But there's a Ryan Johnson
that's floating around out there with some connections and he's
done stuff like Poker Face. I think that they could say, hey,
maybe you don't do a trilogy of movie. Maybe there's

(20:43):
another prestige Star Wars something that Ryan Johnson does that
falls into a knives out or a poker face or
another realm similar to that. So I'm going to say
the analysts at Disney are going to take a look
at this and go, we got some good stuff out
of this. There's got to be another way to squeeze
this tomato again.

Speaker 9 (21:04):
Okay, So I'm gonna go uh in another direction. So,
despite being polarizing in the Galaxy Far far Away, Ryan
Johnson wants to return to Star Wars.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Nick, do you think he should?

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Of course I do.

Speaker 7 (21:19):
I mean my entire platform last week was that The
Last Jedi is the best Star Wars movie that exists.
The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars movie,
but the Last Jedi, to me.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Is Dug points right here.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Do what you have to.

Speaker 7 (21:42):
I think Ryan Johnson is a fantastic storyteller. I think
the way he does what he does, and you see
so much of it in the documentary that they did
that goes along with Last Jedi. I've rewatched that thing
so many times. He should be making Star Wars. He
loves Star Wars, he wants to make Star Wars and
and yes, give me all the Ryan Johnson Star Wars

(22:03):
we can get.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
I'll learn those points, all right, Pete, well.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Jeezu if it'll make the boss happy. I hate Ryan Johnson.
He's ruined Star Wars. No, I honestly, I do think
you know, I've said it before along with Nick. It's
my favorite Star Wars story, not my favorite Star Wars movie.
I think he's a great storyteller, and I like what

(22:37):
Nick was saying, maybe give him, give him a television,
but he's uh. I think he earned his way back
to Star Wars. But I think the biggest challenge is
how the fans will react, how the fan base will respond,
and whether we like it or not. We have to
take that into account because of the amount of noise,
the negativity that might come with the announcement of a

(23:00):
Brian Johnson movie. So I'd love to see him come back.
I think he deserves it. It's just a matter of
when the right time might be.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
All Right, what about you, Chris.

Speaker 8 (23:14):
When it comes to Ryan Johnson, you know, I look
at it like me trying to drive to a place
I don't want to go. Gave him all the green
lights for whatever he wants to do, and let him
do it. Last Jed, I to me, was brilliant, and
I'd love to see more of his style in any

(23:35):
kind of genre he wants to do within the Star
Wars galaxy.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Give it to him. I'd love to see what he yes.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Nice, All right, fair enough, John, take us home on
this topic.

Speaker 10 (23:55):
Yeah, this is where I go for what he is.
He should not go anywhere near Star Wars.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
He was the wrong director for Star Wars. The first
hour mom jokes? Are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (24:06):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Star Wars? Moms don't make noise in space? What are
you doing? Neildograt?

Speaker 10 (24:13):
I had to call you out after you wore a
terrible tie on television.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
This is nonsense to me.

Speaker 10 (24:18):
He should go anywhere near it. Unless he's going to
be a cinematographer. Then great, because you're right. The Last
Jedi is a beautiful looking movie. But I don't need
Mary Poppins Lea in my Star Wars for God's sakes.
Out of Nowhere, force Leya, what are you talking about?
I know that's empowering for some people, it was ridiculous
for the rest of us. No good, Poe, Damnren's going

(24:39):
what do I do? I forgot on a fly of ship.
Let me be the erratic udea who has to be
led to. But that being said, I do think there
are possibilities for Ryan Johnson, but I just don't think
he I think he realized he doesn't work well in
the Star Wars system, even though they signed tim to
a trilogy. But it would just be the worst thing

(24:59):
to bring him back, because I think Chris pointed out
or p pointed out, there's such he's just connected to divisiveness,
and it would cause this all over again. And every
time we put Star Wars back together again, something comes
along to shatter it into a million pieces again lately,
And the last thing you want to do is bring
Ryan but Johnson back.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
So I'm sorry, brew a boy, your trilogy is over
all right.

Speaker 9 (25:24):
We love to hear it, though, just for me, Like
I don't know, all right, So fans are clamoring for
like a Battlefront sequel, Pete, what are your thoughts and
getting a fall up to the first game.

Speaker 6 (25:39):
Well, I was really excited about the thoughts of Battlefront three.
Battlefront two really got a lot of draw over the
last couple of weeks. That was the name of the
guy who played woman Pack was even online saying yes,
we need Battlefront three. Here's what I say. If so
many people are playing Battlefront two, what do you need
battle three? So so go play it. It's still active

(26:04):
and online. I'm always gonna play whatever new Star Wars
video game comes out, but I'm not so I'm not
so attached to a title that has to be the
same one. I'd rather see, you know, maybe a new
uh first person shooter Star Wars kind of game, but
it doesn't have to be Battlefront. But again, I do
I do want to say kudos to the people who

(26:26):
are such fans of it that they they bound together
and and they made it the hottest thing on Steam
a week ago. So good for them, and I'd be
happy to see it. But I don't think we need it.
I think, uh, play Battlefront two, go stay in the
build your your communities there, and let's get something new.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
What do you think, Chris, Give me, give me and
don't stop.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Give me. Give me the things for Star Wars. I
will take them.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
And look, I did a playthrough on Battlefront two, maybe
like a month or two ago, you know, before it
was cool and I like I just I enjoyed it
so much, and I would love to see new one
because there's so many different characters who can throw in
here in different dynamics and things like that.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
You know, we need a Mando in there.

Speaker 8 (27:19):
We need to get dn Jarn in there, and and
grow Goo and and Ahsoka Ahsoka. You know, that'd be
so awesome to have them in there. So there's you know,
the character list for Star Wars grows and grows and
grows by the year, So it'd be cool to have
an updated think like, make this like the Madden but
a whole lot better of Star Wars video games. Yeah,
give me or don't and give me something else. It's

(27:41):
Star Wars. I'll take you.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
I love the excitement. What about you, Nick Well?

Speaker 7 (27:48):
In honor of this being a pseudo sports stolen show,
I'm gonna go ahead to say, my good my good
friend Pete is what my hero Tony Kornheiser calls loud wrong.
He's not wrong, he's wrong. Pete doesn't know what he's
talking about. This is something that we need. I will
say that a lot of I think the clamor for

(28:09):
it has come from the last three or four weeks
of the new Fortnite season, which has been all Star
Wars that has driven so many people to play to go,
oh yeah, there was a game that used to be
like this.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
It was Battlefront two, and.

Speaker 7 (28:21):
So people kind of remembered and woke back up to
oh yeah, that was that game. And Chris is right,
there are so many other characters. There's so many other worlds.
Game technology has improved so much. I think there is
a prime opportunity for a Battlefront three to come in,
give us new modes, give us you know, not have
and learn from the mistakes they made when Battlefront two
came out, all the micro transactions, all that other stuff

(28:41):
that caused a problem. There is the perfect opportunity to
bring out a game because guess what, the Fortnite Star
Wars season is going to end in another week and
a half, and the nerds like me are just going
to keep playing Fortnite with your Star Wars and the
ability to actually go to Camino and go to Jetta
and go to some of these other places and the
thing that we love to do, which is run around

(29:02):
and pretend like we're in Star Wars. So this is
something that is fantastic and I truly hope happens.

Speaker 9 (29:09):
I did dig you out of the negatives for that one.
That was yeah, like I mean Pete was so like
just far off bass sehn.

Speaker 10 (29:22):
Any thoughts, Well, I listen, I don't, I don't have't.
I only played the first Battlefront and not play the
second one. But if you need to have a resurgence
stay to actually increase its popularity, this starts to slide
into mobius territory and that makes me concerned.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
So I do.

Speaker 10 (29:40):
Want because as you guys have eloquently said, like we've
seen already some new characters pop through the last few years.
I think you're not gonna see it until we get
some of these new movies released and then we can
start reading in these characters. But of course, the ugly
side of Star Wars is what might pop up here
that we video game people coming after the actress, people

(30:03):
coming after the character. That's the thing about a Battlefront
three you have to be worried about. Well, if you
do bring the Soca wait youah, soaka are you going
to bring Ashley Exstein, Are you going to bring a
new voiceover actress to play or are you going to
bring Rosario Dawson In that's going to cause drama, So
you've got to figure out how you're going to navigate
all these little mind fields. Unfortunately, but yes, of course,
if people have this much of a demand for it,

(30:25):
now is the time to strike with Aaron hot is hot.
But don't be surprised if when By the Front three
rolls around, it's a mobious situation or mortbas whatever it was,
and people aren't necessarily one hundred percent on board with
it because it's not a rallying cry and it falls flat.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
So there's a very real possibility on that.

Speaker 9 (30:44):
Basically, Ryan Reynolds may have gotten his blank check movie
from Disney after it was a little success. Would you
give him an R rated like Star Wars project.

Speaker 10 (30:55):
I'll give him all rated something, all right, but it
won't be a Star Wars project. He has any business
being anywhere near Star Wars for an R rated project. Okay,
that's the specific specificity of your question.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
So yes, a PG thirteen a PG project. Bring in.

Speaker 10 (31:11):
That's sarcastic fool and do all his jokes and all
of that, even though I think it has no place
in Star Wars. Like I said, no, mama, you know
your mama jokes none of that stuff. It doesn't work.
The huck stuff with Snoke was ridiculous. I hate that
kind of Star Wars right, So I think Ryan would
make an entire movie that was like that, And Sean
Leevy's not going to put the barriers on on Ryan

(31:34):
doing that, so it would just be possibly a mess.
So I don't want him anywhere near an R rated
Star Wars situation. I would like to have someone with
a bit more seriousness, a bit more of a track
record of delivering some good R rated content that isn't
about pieces of the of the of the anatomy of
human beings.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
So that's the way I would look at it.

Speaker 9 (31:56):
What you're saying though, Like I'm kind of like thinking
about are you just as upset about like the Taikawa
Titi one, because I mean, he's less seriously about this.

Speaker 10 (32:08):
I think Tyke is not the right choice either. I
think these are they're trying to take advantage of names
that are currently hot, and I don't think I would
want to see a ty Did we miss Love and Thunder?

Speaker 3 (32:17):
I mean, what are we talking about here?

Speaker 10 (32:19):
I think there will be dangerous on so many levels
if you bring in people who have a comedic sensibility,
because look what happened with the reports on James Gunn.
The new reports are that they took out some of
the humor from Superman movie because it was leaning too
heavily into the humor, which is the instinct of a
lot of directors who come from that school, and that
could be dangerous of the franchise because you undercut the seriousness, right.

(32:40):
I mean, who came out of Deadpool and Wolverine was like, Wow,
that's a really great commentary on being on friendship.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
No, you came out of it.

Speaker 10 (32:47):
Going like, wow, it was great to see these abs
and these jokes and apparently use that to make fun
of the guy who was directing your wife in a movie.
So these are the dangers when you run into a
Ryan Reynolds situation. And I think I think the fifteen
minutes are up on his stick a little bit. So
we'll see though.

Speaker 9 (33:04):
Okay, Chris, how are you feeling about Ryan Reynolds in
a Star Wars project?

Speaker 8 (33:10):
What I heard was he was like, you know, I
don't have to be attached to it. It could be
somebody else and they could do their whole r raty thing,
blah blah, blah blah blah.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
I'm like this, no on all of it. I don't
want to. I don't want to see it at all. No,
al raty shit, get it out of my store.

Speaker 8 (33:26):
No, no, I don't want any R rated stuff to start,
and I hate I'm not like Pete Nick. You know,
I'm not like this line in the sand kind of
person when it comes to Star Wars. But no, no,
I don't want to R rated Star Wars.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
That you don't want Jedi Lightsaber, Dick ros you know
I didn't we already get that in Spaceball.

Speaker 8 (33:52):
I mean, no matter, I'll take I'll take R rated
Star Wars stuff when it comes to like when I'm
watching Jane Solid Bob strike Back, something like absolutely, Bong
Saber absolutely in Star Wars itself, like like just already
and you know that.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
No, that's just it's not no, all right, what about you?

Speaker 9 (34:13):
Nick?

Speaker 7 (34:15):
So as a as a rule, I am not against
the idea of an R rated Star Wars if it
makes sense. I think the problem is we spend a
lot of time going, oh, we wanted Boba Fett to
be a Quentin Tarantino movie, or we want it like.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
If there's gonna be an R rated Star Wars.

Speaker 7 (34:34):
It's going to be because of like language or you know,
the stakes of like Indoor, because it's something that's serious
and builds steaks and pressure. It doesn't have to be
fart jokes. It doesn't have to be you know, in
sync dance routines. I don't have any like this whole
Ryan Reynolds Baldoni situation.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
I don't need to be involved in that. I need
to stay out of that.

Speaker 7 (34:54):
I appreciate I appreciate Ryan Reynolds and Rob mcelhaney because
I have become a huge fan of Wrexham and I
love the documentary about Rexham and I followed them as
a soccer team and I wasn't a soccer guy before that.
It's an incredible story the things that they've done for
this town in Wales. So I'm all about Ryan. Keep
doing that. If you want to make some other Deadpools,

(35:14):
knock yourself out. I do say the one caveat to
that is if he wants to be involved with something
creatively but doesn't feel like he has to be on camera.
I don't necessarily have an issue with that because he
is clearly a creative guy.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
He has some juice.

Speaker 7 (35:27):
He can do some things, but it doesn't necessarily have
to be R rated Star Wars fair enough.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
What do you think, Pete, I don't.

Speaker 6 (35:37):
I can't think of a reason to make us Star
Wars that's rated are right, I know, and Or got
pretty close on it. They did a really they were
very effective in bringing us some of the darkest possible
things without showing it by letting you know how harsh

(35:57):
and evil the Empire is. Honestly, can't think of it.
I mean, because Star Wars is not going to use
Earth related curse words and things like that, other than shit,
which apparently is a commonplace in Andor. But you can
say that in movies, so that's fine. But I just

(36:18):
can't see anything, even from a violence perspective. And I
think if the violence was rated our violence, that would
not feel like Star Wars. In fact, you know, when
we were doing the Roads or Rebellion show, you know,
one of the comments I made was the Gorman massacre
was so well done, but it felt almost too much

(36:39):
for Star Wars. So and I look, I'm not a prude.
I love a good Garantino movie. I love a good
a movie that uses it's our rating for the right reasons,
but I'm hard pressed to find a reason to make
it a rated Star Wars movie. So so that's my perspective.

(37:00):
Esby says, what, I don't need my Star Wars to
grow up with me. But that's just me. That is
totally fair. Well, we are going to take a quick break.
We're going to hit a commercial. When we come back.
We have a handful more of these questions. We hope
you're having fun with us. We hope you're enjoying hanging out.
Make sure you share, like subscribe all the stuff you're
supposed to do when you are watching a YouTube show.

(37:23):
And if you're new to us, thank you for joining
us tonight and hit subscribe. And well, let's take a
real quick break and we'll be back with more ATG Live. Well,
welcome back to ATG live, your Thursday night home for
all things Star Wars. We just ran a Patreon commercial
and I want to welcome our brand new patron. Just
before we went on the air tonight, Andrew joined us.

(37:45):
So thank you so much, Andrew. We really appreciate you
becoming a part of the Patreon family. So we can't
thank you enough. Well, Kelse, we have a tight game
going into the second half here today we.

Speaker 9 (37:58):
Do we do, and like, I don't really want Nick
to win, and I'm just I'm gonna like be honest.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
I saw him win last name. I just felt sick
about it.

Speaker 9 (38:13):
Like, but like, I mean, if he's making good points,
I guess I have to like give him his props.

Speaker 5 (38:21):
So that's all right, that's all right.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
So let's.

Speaker 5 (38:28):
Yeah, it's all right, all right.

Speaker 9 (38:30):
So we're in the second half of our game, like
we're in the end game now, all right, Okay, So like, uh,
sag after like filed charges on the AI Darth Vader
despite James L. Jones releasing his likeness. Uh, so I'm gonna.

Speaker 5 (38:48):
Go, Pete.

Speaker 9 (38:49):
Do you have any issues with AI continuing to use
his legacy?

Speaker 6 (38:54):
You no, I I did not. I know he gave
permission to Lucasfilm.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
I just didn't love it.

Speaker 6 (39:03):
In Kenoby it felt like I could almost pick it
out the way they were using the process to do it.
And frankly, I think sag Aftra has made some really
great strides toward it. And John probably knows a lot
more about this than I do, but some great strides
in defending themselves from AI the video game industry. You know,

(39:28):
we have friends, like many many of our friends who
are in the video game voiceover world. It is so
easy to AI them out. It's scary. And so I
really hope that the Fortnite lawsuit goes against Fortnite because
I don't want to see AI going in and replacing

(39:48):
real people in acting or any sort of creative whatsoever.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
Fair enough, What do you think, Chris, if look.

Speaker 8 (39:58):
If the Jones Estate game Lucasfilm permission to use his
voice likeness cool anyone else? No, so if if Fortnite
did something like that, and like, like I don't know
that part I didn't even know about, but if that happened, yeah, yes,
so them, No, they shouldn't be doing that.

Speaker 5 (40:19):
Okayate, I go.

Speaker 7 (40:22):
So sure, this is one of those this Yeah, this
is one of those situations where.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
Yes, the Jones of State gave.

Speaker 7 (40:31):
Permission to continue to use this voice because it's such
an integral part of this character. That's something that he
wanted before he died. The problem is there's an active
strike going on in the video game industry, specifically targeted
towards epic games. And I love Fortnite. I play Fortnite
all the time. It's the way I mindlessly relax at
the end of the day when my kids go to
bed and run around. It's a fun game. It's something

(40:52):
that you can just check out and do. But they're
doing this in the face of a strike, in the
face of things that are actively going on, and the
issue is SAG after themselves said, we fully respect the
rights of actors and families in the States to be
able to bequeath you know, likenesses and images, but their
call and mission as a union is to protect replacing

(41:14):
actors who are working doing those other things. You've had
other voice actors who have done Darth Vader and Rebels
and in animation in these other places, and so that
strikes against taking work away from other people, especially in
the form of AI, which just came through a whole
big thing in the last strike.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
So I hate that it has to.

Speaker 7 (41:31):
Happen this way because it makes it a really murky
gray area. But at the end of the day, it
should have been handled differently, and I think Epic should
have handled it in a different way.

Speaker 5 (41:41):
Johnny, you have any thoughts.

Speaker 10 (41:43):
Yeah, I think this is a very interesting question. But
these are the questions that need to happen so that
we can figure out what the guardrails are right, And
I think it's very clear that the estate said, yes,
you can do this, But how much does the estate
know about what's going on with AI and with actors
and how impacting the industry. We don't know that stuff
is left out right, We're just left with something in

(42:05):
a vacuum. Well, they approved it, they should be allowed
to blah blah blah. Yeah, it's fine, but the world
doesn't exist in a vacuum. There are things that need
to happen as a result of this. There are precautions
that need to be taken. And if companies are going
to abuse these precautions, and look what happened with what
was it recently where their meta was accused of using
features that hook children to its platform. These companies are

(42:26):
not about doing things ethically and buy the book and
being really nice and holding your hand. No, they're about
trying to make as much money as possible by hooking
you into their stuff. James Earl Jones is the entry
point for some people who they love Star Wars so much.
But then if you start to use that and then
start to play with the rules and make them fuzzier
and fuzzier. Then it becomes a situation where a lot

(42:48):
of actors could get violated. So although I respect the
estate of James Old Jones for coming forward and saying
we want this, we've signed this over, they're cooler heads
need to prevail because he's not in a vacuum.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Affects all these other actors.

Speaker 10 (43:02):
And yeah, as you said Peter earlier, like your Loenthal
is one of my favorite people on the planet. We
co hosted a show for a year talking to voice
over actors, and we were aware of how important it
is and how abused sometimes they can be by these
companies who come in and want to use them and
use their voices and use their work and pay them
as little as possible.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
So it's just would open the door even more.

Speaker 10 (43:24):
So I'm glad there's a fight over this so we
can figure out what the guardrails are going forward.

Speaker 9 (43:29):
Yeah, yep, no, I definitely agree with you there. I'm
actually going to stick with you here because I feel
like we've had like a like similar question as someone
who's trained with like a broad sword for Game of Thrones,
Rum mc cann knows his way around a weapon, but

(43:49):
he recently spoke about his excitement about training with the lightsaber.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
How do you feel about Rory.

Speaker 9 (43:56):
Like being Bailn's skull and like as we're getting closer
to him filling the shoes of Ray Stevens in I.

Speaker 10 (44:04):
Think this is a fantastic casting choice, and I'll tell
you why, because you were never going to replace Ray Stevens.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
You just weren't.

Speaker 10 (44:10):
No matter all the people they were suggesting, none of
those really fit to take on the mantle of Byalen's
skull and where Ray left it at right, So you
bring in his friend Rory mccannon.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
You, of course, people.

Speaker 10 (44:21):
Watch Game of Thrones know him as the Hound and
love him as the Hound, but he doesn't have the
stage presence or the just the magnitude of an aura
that Ray Stevenson has. So you know you're going to
play the character a little bit more underplay throughout the
entire new season.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
He is not going to be as massive of the things.

Speaker 10 (44:41):
He's not going to have that same kind of connection
that we saw him have with oh God, what's the
character's name that he guided through season to have the
same kind of connection with shin Hati. But it's my
fourth hour going live, so unless I don't think Rory's
going to develop that, even though we had that with Aria,

(45:03):
which was great, But shinn Hati is in a completely
different place now by the time we go into season two,
so I think he's gonna be much more of a
subtler energy throughout the season. So I think he's an
excellent choice to come in and play that. He will
be strong when he needs to be, but he doesn't
need to be around like Ray Stevenson was, and I
think they're going to write to that, so he'll honor

(45:24):
it really well. He just won't be a Ray replacement,
which I think is a smart move.

Speaker 5 (45:29):
Great, fair enough.

Speaker 8 (45:29):
What do you think, Chris, I'm excited to see what
he does with this character. Yeah, it's it's definitely it's
going to be different. But I'm excited to see, you know,
what he does with this Balan Skull character. And I
agree with John, he's not going to be as the
gravitizer is going to be there like it was with
Ray Stevenson.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
But there is.

Speaker 8 (45:53):
Such like a like a like a subtle quiet intensity
to him that I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Speaker 5 (46:00):
What about you, Pete.

Speaker 9 (46:02):
H I.

Speaker 6 (46:03):
The Hound was actually one of my favorite characters on
Game of Thrones. I think I said it before there.
I tried to get my daughter uh to be uh
Aria and me go out as the Hound for Halloween
one year.

Speaker 3 (46:14):
She never saw Game of Thrones, of course.

Speaker 6 (46:16):
Because she was seven at the time and should not
watch shows like Game of Thrones, like a dud was like,
I showed her pictures. I was like, you see that guy,
and look, it's a cute little girl with the sword
that's on a murderous vengeance sort of thing. So but so,
I've always been a big fan of him. I love

(46:37):
the character, and I was really curious how they were
going to replace him and how they were going to
do it, because obviously we just based on the ending
of season one. It was it was set up to
figure out where Balen went next. And I think it's
a great choice. And you know, there were so many
as as John was referencing, there was so many fan

(46:58):
castings and someone and everyone one of them made sense.
But this one is one of those rare times where
you hear the actor that they select and you go, yeah, okay,
that's good, and you're happy with it immediately so I
was happy about it as well.

Speaker 5 (47:13):
What about Nick?

Speaker 7 (47:15):
All right, So for all of you who have missed
all the way back in your life when you had
to take the SATs, I'm going.

Speaker 3 (47:21):
To give you a couple of analogies. Real quick, real quick.

Speaker 7 (47:26):
Roy McCann is to Ray Stevenson as Alden Aren Reich
was to Harrison Ford. And here's my deal. Here's my deal.
You have to be the same. It doesn't have to
be an impersonation. He's not coming in here to try
and be exactly the same guy. He's gonna do it.
I think John's exactly right. It's not going to be
the same. It's going to have a different tone, it's

(47:47):
going to have a different feel. But that doesn't mean
it's not going to be good. We all came into
Alden and Solo and went, what do you mean, like
nobody can be Harson Ford.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
We know nobody can be Harrison Ford.

Speaker 7 (47:58):
Ray Stevenson was a revelation as Baylen Skull in that show.
Probably my favorite character from that entire show. I knew
Ray Stevenson a little bit, but this was somebody that
I went, holy crap, he's really good, and I think
the possibility for Rory McCann to come in and do
a different version of Baylen Skull that when you look
back on it, like somebody's in a complain. Everybody complains,

(48:19):
that's what people do. But at the end of the day,
you're going to look at it and go, you know what,
it totally works. So that's what I'm going.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
With, Nick.

Speaker 9 (48:27):
Before I award points, here, are you saying that, like, uh,
Solo is a good movie.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
Solo is an absolutely good movie. Solo's a banger, Solo
is a fantastic movie.

Speaker 5 (48:39):
Do I have to quit this podcast?

Speaker 3 (48:41):
You may take all you can take it. You can
take all my points the way if you want to. No, No,
I mean this.

Speaker 5 (48:47):
Harrison Ford's my guy.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
And that's okay, mine. I grew up with Indiana Jones.

Speaker 5 (48:53):
I can't right now.

Speaker 9 (48:54):
I just I'm learning this about you like life, and
I just I hate that movie so much.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
Don't know, take all my points away. I'll learn it.
It's a great movie.

Speaker 9 (49:10):
Ship okay, all right, well, well, okay, i's gonna move on.

Speaker 5 (49:18):
We're moving on.

Speaker 3 (49:21):
Alright. So you know, this is a great thing about
Star Wars.

Speaker 5 (49:28):
This is a great you guys.

Speaker 9 (49:29):
Right now, Like I just I can't with Solo.

Speaker 6 (49:32):
But this is the great thing about Star Wars. Everybody
can like what they like and not like what they
don't like it. And we don't know.

Speaker 5 (49:38):
But like Solo is is a really bad movie. Like
it's a really bad movie. I'm just I'm.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
So don't make Solo to happen. What so?

Speaker 4 (50:02):
Uh?

Speaker 9 (50:04):
Yeah, we're recently spoke on Mall questioning like what like
he built with City is so for his upcoming show,
do you buy like mal being a sympathetic character?

Speaker 6 (50:18):
Man, this is the biggest you know, last time we
talked about this, when when we first heard about the
Mall show, I actually said I don't know if we
need it, And that was weird, especially because I have
a Mall pad too. That said, Sam whitwere sort of
talking about how it's a show about bad guys and
bad guys and worse guys and that's kind of what

(50:41):
they tried to do with Acolyte and failed. So but
I have a lot of faith in Filoni, and I
have a lot of faith in the Mall character, and
I have a lot of faith in Whit. We're what
I want to see is and I've said this before,
I believe that Mall is the Joker of the Star
Wars universe in that he wants chaos. He lives for

(51:04):
trying to disrupt whatever's happening, and if you do that right,
you know, I loved the first The Joker movie, but with.

Speaker 3 (51:14):
What's his name? Phoenix?

Speaker 6 (51:17):
I love the first one. The second one is unwatchable.
But the first one was really cool because it was
a backstory that I didn't know. I don't think I
needed it, and I don't think it's the backstory that
I still live with in my head. But it was
a cool story about a character that was worthy of
understanding more about. And whitwere is a student of Star Wars,
So I have a lot of confidence in where that

(51:39):
show is going to go. So bring it on. I'm
ready for it.

Speaker 5 (51:42):
Man, what about you, Chris.

Speaker 8 (51:46):
Pete, I'm getting real tired of your acolyte slander. It's
going to stop in my presence. But we saw a
sympathetic side to a degree from Mall and rebels when
he was trying to get trying to get Ezra, like
you know, and then and then when Freddy Princy explains

(52:08):
how he's like Sissyphus, he's always rolling that boulder up
the hill and it keeps coming down, he keeps rolling
back up again. That's just you know, like that, that's
that's that's his role in the Star Wars universe. So
I'm I'm happy to see you know, more of this
and like where how he ends up on malakor how
he answered on malakor you know, how he gets booted
from a Crimson don or does he leave you know,

(52:30):
there's so many questions, but uh, yeah, I'm I'm yeah,
I'm real excited to see what the you know, what
to do with this character. And yeah, yeah, and he
he's evil to a degree, but he's he's not like
on that Vader insidious level. So uh, he's I don't
even know if I want to say anti hero, you know, uh,

(52:52):
but he's he's I don't know where you put him,
you know, But I'm I'm I'm happy to see.

Speaker 3 (53:01):
I'm really excited to see like what they're going to
do with this character going.

Speaker 5 (53:04):
For John, You have anthoughs.

Speaker 10 (53:08):
This is interesting, right, because great, we just talked about
we started off on this thing talking about Andrew at
the beginning when you asked me to come on, and like.

Speaker 3 (53:16):
We talked about Prestige TV. Right, This is what Prestige
TV does.

Speaker 10 (53:20):
Takes a character that makes you hate them or have
them do terrible things, and then slowly but surely, methodically
redeems them in a certain way so that you're asking
yourself questions, what would I do? And I forgive them
what mistakes have I made in the past that people
have forgiven me, for given me grace for And so
that makes it a fascinating watch when you're watching it.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Do I like this idea?

Speaker 6 (53:42):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (53:42):
I like this idea. Do I trust that they're going
to do it well in this format?

Speaker 8 (53:46):
No?

Speaker 3 (53:46):
I don't. So that's my concern when I look at
the situation.

Speaker 10 (53:49):
I love Mal is a You're right, I think Chris
uh so sorry, I think Chris said that. Yeah, Mal
has shown moments of vulnerability, mayanity in certain moments, and
certainly that episode with him and Kenobi to Sons. I mean,
that's maybe my favorite episode of almost any animated series

(54:11):
ever because of the care Kenobi shows Mal, and I
don't think he would have shown that if he didn't
have some respect or love for him, and so there
are moments where he has these The thing about Mal
is mall.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
Is clear in his principles.

Speaker 10 (54:24):
There is no fluctuating in his principles, right, So he
may be evil to a certain extent in your mind,
but he is clear about who he is and he's consistent,
and I think that's what makes him an interesting character
and a place to be able to turn him into
a times the hero of a story as it goes
up against more evil people, because he has shown that

(54:45):
proclivity to be clear about his principles and morals in
numerous pieces of media and Star Wars. So yeah, I
like the idea. I hope they get it right. I
don't know one hundred percent trust that they will. But Sam's
a great voice of director. He'll bring the emotion.

Speaker 6 (54:59):
And I think one of the things, and in line
with that, is some of the best stories and I
can't remember who said it on our Road Rebellion show,
but some of the best stories are when you really
get to know a bad guy who believes they're right. Yes,
it's so this this could really be a great story
for sure.

Speaker 8 (55:18):
Like if you look at the end of the Clone
Wars series, he was trying to do the right thing, yes,
but but in in a and not a good way, right,
You know, so yeah, like you know, this character is so,
this character is layered, and I'm, like I said, I'm

(55:39):
looking forward to seeing what they do with him.

Speaker 9 (55:41):
Yeah, I mean, I was going to give the floor
to Nick, but I feel like Chris like was really
passionate about this and I'm going to give him the
win on this one.

Speaker 5 (55:53):
So Chris, you want to take us home?

Speaker 3 (55:55):
Nice done? Chris? What just haend I.

Speaker 5 (56:02):
And then I just literally like just ignored Nick.

Speaker 7 (56:05):
And It's okay because I was gonna I was going
to spend my time not answering the question and simply
talking about the fact that once again Chris no that
Pete was once again wrong because he said Mal wants chaos.
Maul didn't want chaos. Mall wanted Kenobe single focus. He

(56:25):
got played by Palpatine. He figured it out, and everything
beyond that was revenge on Kenoby. And like Tommy says,
Mal is evil when he feels the situation calls for evil,
particularly when someone's between him and his goals, which are
getting to Kenoby. So Pete's wrong. He didn't want chaos,
he wanted Kenoby. Everything he did was driven by the
fact that he got played. He wasn't going to let

(56:47):
it happen again, and he sought that revenge. But Chris
Ryan's is our Winter tonight and Christy for six sixty
seconds of a platform of his choosing.

Speaker 8 (56:58):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
