Polifacètic i innovador, entre les contribucions de Pere Bosch Gimpera hi trobem nombroses obres i la fundació del Servei d’Investigacions Arqueològiques de l’Institut d’Estudis Catalans. Aquesta institució es va convertir en un referent per a la investigació arqueològica a Catalunya. També va ser l’impulsor de la creació del MAC i el seu primer director.
