Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is Arrow unplugged.
When it's extremely difficult to make up your mind, I
mean seriously, having the power of choice can actually weaken
a person's soul. On this episode, we're going to explore
why we're leaning in on the term out of sight,

(00:21):
out of mind? Is it really becoming an issue? If so,
how can we get back on track? My name is Arrow.
Life is a series of choices. Who decides when you're
not making the right choice? Is it a fear of
going wrong? The greatest lessons in life are often lost
inside hidden away attempts and concepts. Well, it's time to
reopen your heart. Having a choice is your daily gift.

(00:45):
On this highway, we're going to learn how to trust mirages.
What is the choice living and out of sight out
of mind lifestyle? Making the physical choice to set an
event aside and not claim it to be true. This
is very real. A few of the key factors include
our brain's ability to process information, the influences of technology

(01:06):
and distractions, and how we prioritize our attention. So let's
break this down cognitive load and prioritization. Our brains have
limited capacity for attention and memory. We can only focus
on just a few things. It's very human to focus
on the things that are relevant and prominent to us.
If things are in immediate view, they will be easily forgotten.

(01:30):
Technology is a huge distraction. Our smartphones demand a lot
of attention. It leaves very little space for us to
think about things. Because of our constant need to check
into the news headlines or see what's going on with
an email or text messaging, we find it to be
less important to remember things, which proves out of sight
out of mind is more than just ghosting a person

(01:53):
or a project. He coming up next. Okay, so we've
addressed it. Out of sight, out of mind? Can we
get back on the path. Hey, thanks for coming back
to the choice. What are the social dynamics of out
of sight out of mind? Without a doubt, it's about
how we perceive relationships. I mean, it's too easy to
allow a friendship to fade when they aren't right there

(02:14):
in front of you every single day. The number one
cause is how we prioritize our time and attention on
things there are immediate relevance and digital accessibilities in front
of us at all times. This takes us toward object permanence,
the full understanding that objects continue to exist even when
we think they're invisible. This is something we develop at

(02:34):
the ages of two and three. A lot of people
struggle with this. Number one reason the difficulty to focus
on things that aren't in front of us right now.
Then we've got ADHD huge in the world of out
of sight, out of mind, the physical struggle with focus
and difficulty of maintaining a relationship due to separation anxiety.
Unless a person of experience is right there in front

(02:57):
of them, ADHD keeps a person dis stint from the
real expectation. Out of sight, out of mind deserves the
attention to be looked into. It is very, very real.
I'm Eryl, and that's what I was writing while the
sun was waking up on a brilliant new day.
