Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged.
I'm always asking questions, and the reason why is because
the fund begins when you start researching for answers such
as why are people rediscovering old television shows like Jack Binny?

(00:21):
Plus why are there so many weight loss commercials on
the television set. I'm Marrow, a daily writer, a silent wolf.
I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen, study,
then activate. I happen to call it the daily mass,
a chronological walk through it everyday world. Yep, it's my
morning pages. As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we

(00:42):
as people tend to throw things to the side because
we think we're going to deal with it later. When
a subject arrives inside of me, I know it's time
to dig in. It's still keeping that daily journal, but
by doing the research, the picture becomes clearer. This is
the daily mess. Why are people read esssvering old television
shows like Jack Benny? My wife and I aren't alone

(01:04):
in this current age of antenna and MeTV. There are
several reasons why these old black and white shows are
becoming revitalized with modern day viewing, timeless humor, Jack Benny's
vain persona is spot on when it comes to comedy, timing,
and appeal. According to research, retro appeal plays an important

(01:24):
role here. Vintage television is really hot right now. Mental
health experts say it's because it's introduced viewers to simpler times.
Watching these old shows is looked upon as being educational
as well as historical. Someone like Jack Benny is often
studied because he truly knew how to connect with his
viewing audience. Believe it or not, shows like Jack Benny

(01:47):
and Johnny Carson have had a major impact on many
of today's podcasters in the way of how they host
their interviews and host a wide variety of subjects that
include the interest of those who have chose to listen. Hey,
coming up next? Why are there so many weight loss
commercials on the flat screen? Hey? Thanks for coming back

(02:09):
to the Daily Mess. Why are there so many weight
loss commercials on the flat screen TV? I should know
this because I've been in radio for forty six years.
But here's the real reason. It's obvious. The weight loss
industry is hugely profitable. Television offers a broad, targeted access
to potential customers. Research shows a significant portion of the

(02:29):
United States population wants to lose weight. Advertisers know this
and realize it's going to require buying a lot of ads.
Weight loss isn't a one time goal. It's a cycle
that we all go through through so many different diets
and programs. This creates an ongoing demand for new and
improved solutions, trends, and modern day miracles. Weight loss commercials

(02:51):
are designed to hit our emotions. It goes straight to
what controls our self esteem, body image, and health fears.
Television commerrhows that endlessly spread. Weight loss ideas are targeted.
You'll see them on daytime TV programs, reality shows, news
and entertainment shows. As one expert says, supplements and meal

(03:12):
plans create high profits, and advertisers are buying into that idea.
It's worth the while. I'm Meryl, and that's the daily mess.
