Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction. Unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is Arrow unplugged.
When it's extremely difficult to make up your mind, you know,
having the power of choice can actually weaken a person's heart.
On this episode, we're going to explore why we make
the choice to attend large events with thousands of people
(00:22):
knowing we are sick, plus making the choice to spend
unheard of amounts of money on concert tickets. My name
is Arrow. Life is a series of choices. Who decides
when you're not making it the right choice? Is it
the fear of going wrong? The greatest lessons in life
are often lost inside hidden away attempts and concepts. Well,
(00:42):
it's time to reopen your heart. Having that choice is
your daily gift on this highway, It's time to learn
how to trust mirages? What is the choice? Shocking news
out of New Jersey a recent Shakira concert. Someone with
measles participated with the fun and now there's an outbreak
of the infectious disease. There were eighty two thousand people
(01:04):
in attendance. Why do people who know they are sick
still make the decision and or a choice to attend
such a crowded moment. Research clearly shows that people make
that choice for a variety of reasons, often a mix
of practical needs, social pressure, and sometimes a lack of
awareness or consideration. For others, lack of options is high
(01:25):
on the list work and finances. I actually work for
a grocery store chain that demands a doctor's note or
you're going to be written up. Other studies show people
make the choice to appear in public while sick to
avoid judgment plus a fear of isolation. It's a complex
decision and it's influenced by a combination of practical needs.
But I do wonder if what we're experiencing today is
(01:47):
really anything new. My mother's generation, though, didn't have such temptations. Hey,
coming up next, making the choice to spend a ton
of money on concert ticket. Hey, thanks for coming back
to the choice. Why do we make that choice to
fork out so much money on concert tickets only to
(02:08):
suffer in other areas of our life? First, why are
the tickets so expensive? The answer is high demand, increase
costs for performers and touring and our desired to get
into a unique experience. Some experts say making the choice
to spend way too much money on concert tickets is
all about social connection, because we love to be seen
on social media displaying our whereabouts. It still goes back
(02:32):
to high demand. The bigger named acts with huge fan
bases aren't just for local crowds anymore. People will travel
for miles to see their favorite performers, sometimes three and
four shows during the same tour. What many fans aren't
actively fighting are the various fees and surcharges which the
US Government Accountability Office is aware of but is doing
(02:52):
nothing about. But here's a really big thing to bite into.
Generation Z and millennials don't want to buy materialistic objects. No,
their choice is to gain access to the experience. I'm Errol,
and that's what I was writing while the sun was
waking up on a brilliant new day.
