Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged.
I'm constantly being asked about my daily writing discipline. How
do I do it? Why do I do it? And
where do I do it? And why have you done
it for so long? What is the investment that I've
(00:21):
made that keeps me in the game? I call it
stream thinking, learning how to trust what is in your
present place of right now. To get there requires practice.
One sheet of paper every day, just ten minutes, write
about whatever is moving through your presence of right now,
without any judgment. Stream thinking sharpens your skills as a listener,
as a communicator, and as an activator. It's learning how
(00:45):
to trust what is right now. This is stream thinking today.
We're reading from June twenty ninth, twenty twenty four. A
very interesting day, the day that I tore my rotator
cuff and it affected everything, including my thinking. When the
exposure to the real world has a way of introducing
(01:06):
you to the reality of what happens when you've been
pushed too hard or you wanted to craft your own path.
What works one day, maybe the bone breaker the next.
Even while watching the TV series The Bear on Hulu,
you get the feeling on not being alone when it
comes to being driven by reaching people. I love how
(01:27):
chef Carmei explains to a co creator, you're acting like
a three star restaurant. I totally got into that passion.
Then one day the path is underwater and you're forced
to rely on boat operators to get you to the
other side. That's exactly how I felt when I injured
(01:48):
my shoulder a tear in the rotator cuff. My world stopped.
Everything wouldn't move. It was the only thing that I
could think about, how, where, why, and what should I do?
I couldn't move. And I'm not the only one that
goes through this kind of thing. But just know in
(02:09):
your heart that when you do face something like this,
when something that is used every single day in your life,
such as your legs, your arms, your eyes, when something
interrupts their process of growing forward, you've got to keep
moving forward. And that's exactly what I did. Sure I
(02:29):
went and got medical help. Sure they told me there
was a terror, and sure we're going to have to
have surgery. And I said no. And in that moment
of saying no, I knew I had to do the work.
And I have done the work, a lot of exercising,
a lot, a lot of stretching, and we're winning so far.
(02:51):
But like it says in the story, everything is going
great until you start filling with water and then you
have to really on other boat people to get you
to the other side. I'm Marril, and that's stream thinking.
