Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is Arrow unplugged.
I'm that guy that's always asking questions. And the reason
why is because the fund begins when you start doing
the research for answers such as birds. They've got beaks,
but do they have a sense of smell? Plus? Can

(00:22):
people actually dance the night away? My name is Arrow.
I'm a daily writer, a silent wolf. That means I
stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen, study,
then activate. I call it the daily Mess, a chronological
walk through an everyday world. Yep, it's my morning pages.
As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we tend to
throw things to the side because we think we're going

(00:42):
to deal with it later. When a subject arrives inside
of me, I know it's time to dig in. It's
still keeping that journal, but by doing the research, the
picture becomes clearer. This is the daily Mass. Birds have
a beak, but do birds have a sense of smell?
The answer is yes, and they use it for several
different reasons. A bird uses their sense of smell to

(01:03):
locate food. For some, that includes locating earthworms. Birds you
smell as a way to locate their mates. It's how
they select the perfect place to create a nest, as
well as recognize members of their own bird family. I
know how much I smell everything, and my dog can
smell even more. How much can a bird actually smell?
A vulture can smell a dead animal a mile away?

(01:26):
Now the human has taken note of a bird's sense
of smell by creating chemicals to keep them away from
their crops. Modern day scientists are developing chemicals to help
break up avian born diseases. The bird flu is very real,
and it's said that we are one step away from
it affecting human beings, which makes you wonder how it
will change our relationship with birds if it becomes a pandemic.

(01:48):
Science is at work, Hey, coming up next? Can people
actually dance the night away? Hey? Welcome back to the
Daily Mess? Can people actually dance the entire name? Well?
They did. In fifteen eighteen, hundreds of people danced uncontrollably
for two months. It was called the Great Dancing Plague.
The place Strasbourg, France. It all began when a single

(02:12):
woman began dancing away in the center of the street.
It eventually led to a large crowd. Ill formed physicians
attributed the ailment to hot blood and suggested that people
danced until they no longer felt the urge. People fell
from exhaustion, and some even had fatal heart attacks. There
were those who felt it was a curse from Saint Vitas,
the patron saint of dance. This wasn't the first time

(02:34):
that this happened. The Roman Empire also went through the experience,
claiming it was caused by the fungus ergot, which is
found in bread. It causes convulsions which looks a lot
like dancing, just like those in fifteen eighteen. They were
dancing the night away. Now, my research did not say
anything about the dancing having music. I'm arrow and that's

(02:56):
the daily mess.
