Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged,
hates arow and this is vocal D frag. Vocal D
fragging is taking a walk through.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
This beautiful forest in South Charlotte, North Carolina, or it
could be on your beautiful street in whatever city world
or planet Earth. But it's an opportunity to escape the
four walls of your business and or home, to ask
yourself some questions and then question the answers. I'm not
talking about being a parental figure or somebody who's going
to be harsh and judgmental. I'm just saying, ask some
(00:35):
questions and then question the answers. We're always running to
other people to ask what if and what would you do?
And when they're wrong, what happens You put the guilt
trip on yourself is what you do. This is vocal
D frag. And as I walk through this forest this morning,
look at this a beautiful feather. This is a gift
(00:58):
from nature telling me that you're in the right place.
Because feathers give birds flight and in that flight, are
they running? We've heard that term. We've learned those lessons
when you're asking the questions and your question and the answers,
are you running toward the fire to help people out?
(01:21):
Or are you running away to protect your heart? This
is vocal d frag today. It's a challenge. The challenge
is do you think you could do it? That's a
big question. Do you think you could do it?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Do? What is the quick reply back?
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Do you think you could go through a twenty four
hour period without judging yourself, your friends, people, you don't know,
your dog, your cat. One twenty four hour period without judgment?
See so bad? My heart wants to say, Jude, you're
being a little bit rough. You said, don't be a
(01:56):
parental figure. I mean, being a judger is part of
our everyday world, keeping up with the Joneses. But I
don't think we're keeping up with the jones anymore. We're
fighting to keep up with ourselves because there's so much
readily available that we can't even keep up with our
own selves, our own expectations. So we judge ourselves and
we judge those around us. We point fingers, we make accusations,
(02:19):
We sit there and blame it on the cicadas.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
It's too noisy. I couldn't think straight. But could you
do it?
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Could you go at twenty four hour period without judging yourself?
Because when you're judging yourself and others, you're actually putting
yourself in a pair of shoes that you've not worn before. No,
you might be able to identify with it, but you've
not worn those shoes. And there are so many times
when I'm show prepping for all my podcasts that I
(02:47):
will question myself in the way of going. Do you
think you'll ever meet anybody that does what you do?
Speaker 3 (02:53):
I'm judging.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I'm judging not only myself, but I'm judging other people
who also have radio shows, television shows, documentaries, journalists on
CNN to Fox News. I'm judging, Why would I even
care if anybody else can do what it is that
I'm doing, as long as what I'm doing is getting
done on time and it's of quality. But could you
(03:17):
do it? Could you go twenty four hours without judging?
I'm not talking about a court case. I'm talking about
your case, your inner core, that one thing that seems
to be a trigger or a dark spot that you're
running away from. You don't want to face, but if
you do face, it is a judging. And can we
(03:39):
save that for another day? Could you do it? Could
you go twenty four hours without one moment of judging
a little bit of deprivation? Gonna be tough, because when
you walk into that grocery store and you're standing in
that line, look at all those magazine covers, all those
pretty people. They never put an ugly person up there.
(04:00):
But yet we feel like that ninety nine point nine
percent of the photos said we take as a selfie
just don't make the cut, nor would they make the
cut for a magazine cover, an album cover, or even
a billboard. But why don't you post an ugly shot
of yourself during that twenty four hours of not judging?
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Just put it up there. Let people see you.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Without makeup, without a fake smile, without something that says,
look at me, look at me, look at me, Oh,
look at my beautiful self me.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Could you do it just one twenty four hour period?
How far would you really go? An hour? Fifteen minutes,
ask the questions, question the answers. I call it vocal defragging.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I also do it in a journal which I started
in November of twenty seventeen. It's an opportunity to get
to know you, and, like me, you might be blessed
on your walk other Remember fright or flight, Make the choice.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
I'm Marrow and that's vocal. D Frek
