Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's go ahead and turn it into a tool.
This is Arrow unplugged. I'm always asking questions and the
reason why is because it's fun to research for answers
such as why are we still dealing with daylight savings time? Plus,

(00:21):
there's a lot of mental escaping going on. How healthy
is it to mentally dart away? My name is Arrow.
I'm a daily writer, a silent wolf. That means I
stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen, study,
then activate. I call it the daily mess, a chronological
walk through an everyday world. Yep, it's my morning pages.
As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people

(00:43):
tend to throw things to the side because we think
we're gonna deal with it later. Well, when a subject
arrives inside of me, I know it's time to dig in.
It's still keeping that daily journal, but by doing the research,
the picture becomes clearer. This is the daily mess. Not
everybody does it, but here in the Carolina is we do,

(01:03):
and we do question why we have to move the
hands of time forward this weekend. Springing forward means losing
an hour of sleep. My body must have already known this,
because for the past couple of weeks it's been awake
really super early, which next week won't be seen as early.
It'll be normal. According to the official rules of the
Daylight Savings Time game, we are moving the clocks ahead

(01:26):
to allow more sunlight into the summer evenings. It's a
true calling for us to make better use of natural sunlight.
Daylight Savings Time was first put into play in nineteen
eighteen as a wartime measure to conserve energy. There's been
a lot of talk lately about ending Daylight Savings Time,
but it's just talk. It's going to take an Act
of Congress. They need that approval. If the law is changed,

(01:48):
the United States would situate itself in the realms of
standard time, meaning the sun would rise extremely early and
set not as late as we're accustomed to during those
summer months, which would and will have an effect on
our desire to play outside. Hey, coming up next, mentally escaping,
How safe is it? Hey? Thanks for coming back to

(02:09):
the daily mess. Being human, we are blessed to have
the ability to mentally escape how is it that we're
able to do this and has it changed in recent times?
Mental health experts believe mentally escaping has not changed, just
the tools that we use to get there. Have Our
free ticket to mentally ride is connected to technology. People

(02:30):
are turning to virtual environments and online activities to temporarily
disconnect from reality. This has experts worried. Excessive digital escapism
can be dangerous and it can be an addiction. It's
been written several times that digital technology has an impact
on our real life relationships and responsibilities. Now doctors are

(02:50):
not saying stop jumping into the digital world. Many times,
it's a positive and it's very healthy. It's when we
rely on it that it has the strength to contribute
to you high anxiety, depression, and a feeling of isolation.
Escapism isn't looked upon as being a form of depression now.
The reason why we lean in on mentally escaping is

(03:11):
connected to self expansion to gain access to a positive experience.
I'm Maril and that's the daily mess
