Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow
unplugged stream thinking. It's learning how to trust what is
in your present place of right now. To get there
requires practice. Here's what I do one sheet of paper
every single day, just ten minutes, write about whatever is
(00:22):
moving through your presence of right now, with absolutely no judgment.
Stream thinking sharpens your skills as a listener, as a communicator,
and as an activator. It's learning how to trust your
right now. This is stream thinking today. We're reading from
July twenty seventh, twenty twenty four. How does one know
if they've evolved into a curmudgeon and is it negative?
(00:47):
Dictionary dot com defines it as a crusty, ill tempered
old man, a miser. Being fickle and stubborn is part
of the actions and reactions. Now here's the thing. Women
can also be the same way, but they're not called curmudgeons.
A mean spirited woman is known as a terminent. The
only reason why I even bring this up is because
(01:08):
of my daily writing, I must look like a curmudgeon.
Sitting in this writing place, always looking things up on
the web or going to dictionary dot com, but anger
and selfishness never come into play. Maybe the writing is
what keeps me from becoming a curmudgeon. What about you?
Your mood swings, your mindsets, anger, happy, up and down
(01:30):
another pill? Right, A lot of people do that. But
what's keeping you from becoming a curmudgeon? And if you are,
how are you handling it in public? And do you
reach that point where you go, I don't care. I'm
just gonna be me and they're going to have to
accept me or leave me. Ooh, that's not a good
feeling becoming a curmudgeon. My father was one, but he
(01:53):
grew away from it, and the way that he did
was because of his grandchildren. So is that what's missing
in your life? Something that gives you that opportunity? You know, like,
you can't teach an old dog nutricks, just go get
a puppy and let them feel young again. But let's
break this down, Okay, why do people become curmudgeons? Doctors
say it's loneliness, chronic pain, stress, and the decline of
(02:14):
social connections and physical abilities that can come with age.
Age and hormonal changes leads to being a curmudgeon. Physical
health issues, social isolation, a loss of independence, and personality changes.
Some people find it very difficult to adapt to that change,
and they may become resistant to new ideas and ways
(02:34):
of doing things and are you ready for this? Dementia
or other cognitive decline is part of being a curmudgeon.
In some cases, personality changes that lead to becoming a
curmudgeon can be a sign of dementia and other cognitive decline,
which should be evaluated by a professional doctor. Making the
(02:57):
choice to take the steps forward, answering that inner call,
you don't have to be a curmudgeon. I'm Eryl, and
that's stream thinking
