Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, you can find all of my podcasts in one location,
all seventeen of them. Sure. I love the platforms that
have been available all these years, but it's now time
to centralize it. Aero dot net, a r roe dot
net and thank you so much for your support for
all these years. Well, good morning. How are you doing today.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm doing great things. How are you? Thanks for having me?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Well, I'm fired up to talk about Canyon Spirit. The
reason why is because I am an all out nature freak.
I don't know if it's because I'm from Montana or
I live here in the Carolinas, where nature is just
so respected. But to see you out there in the Southwest,
you are introducing this to a lot of people who
have fallen in love with other areas of this nation.
But you're saying, but you give us something here that's like,
oh my god, I should not ignore the Southwest exactly.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
And to be honest, this was not really a part
of the country that I had seen before, especially not
not with my own eyes and certainly not by train.
And that's what was so special is that you get
this unprecedented exclusive access to parts of the country that
you just you can't even get to buy car. That's

(01:05):
what's so cool about it.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
I want to see this on an IMAX screen and
or VR goggles because you guys have put together something
here that is the total experience.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, well, you don't need the VR goggles when you're
there because it's just this unbelievable like panoramic views. Because
the trains so on Canaan spirit. The train cars have
actual domed windows that just give you the most insane
views you've ever seen. And if you're a nature freak,

(01:39):
I mean, let me tell you, this is just you're
immersed in nature. And what's so cool is that the
scenery just changes because you know you're starting in Denver,
you're ending up in Salt Lake City. Starting in twenty
twenty six, the route goes from Denver to Salt Lake
City or Salt Lake City to Denver and with overnight
stops in moab u Taw and Glenwood Springs, Colorado. But

(02:02):
along the way you're seeing the natural landscape change. Yeah,
you're starting in let's say Denver, and you're out in
the mountains and going along the Colorado River and then
all of a sudden that you start turning it into
red rocks. And then you're in Moab and it's just
so unbelievable. It's not like a typical train ride where
you could just you know, sit back and not pay attention.

(02:25):
You are constantly riveted looking out the windows.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Please do not move. There's more with Kelly Rizzo coming
up next. The name of the experience Canyon Spirit. Well,
you are back with Kelly Rizzo. I've seen Canyon's Spirit
in the way of going. There's nothing a human being
can do to create this kind of beauty that's placed
upon this planet.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Amen too. That and this is everything that you would
hope that that you know, train journey, that luxurious train
journey would be. And I got to see it just
parts of the country I'd never been to, but parts
of the country that you cannot get to from like
with the car. You have to take a train to

(03:09):
see a lot of these areas, and just going along
the Colorado River and just the mountain landscapes, and then
when you start getting into Utah and you start seeing
the red Rocks, and then you end up in Moab
and you're all you know, by these national parks like
arches and canyon lands. And that was a bucket list
item for me, and so to actually see it with

(03:29):
my own eyes, it was I couldn't I couldn't believe it.
And the fact that Canaan Spirit takes you right to
these destinations is just it's really special. It's very exclusive
to be able to get there.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Wow, and then and then to share the lunches and
the dinners and the romance of being on the train.
I can't imagine how many people are going to be
booking their trips out to the Southwest because of you. Kelly.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Well, that's well, thank you. But that's what's so interesting
is that you kind of, you know, always have this
romanticized view and idea of what a train journey could
be like. And then a lot of times you're kind
of disappointed because you know, if you're just using a
train for transportation, you don't really get that experience. And
this is that experience that you always dreamed it would be.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
And as you know, you.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Mentioned the food, the food is chef prepared. The chef
actually comes out and tells you about the dishes you're eating.
Everything is fresh, everything is local. You know, the food's incredible,
the cocktails are incredible, The service is just five star,
next level, and you know what's really cool though, is

(04:36):
there's these onboard hosts that tell you, I mean they're
like the best tour guides on the planet, and they
just kind of walk you through the entire journey, and
you know, they're explaining the history, they're explaining you know,
the nature, they're explaining the animals there. Everyone's like, oh,
look out the left window, you'll see and they'll know
exactly what animal you see, bald eagles. It was incredible.

(05:00):
It's really great for a couples too. I mean, it's
be really you know, romantic romantic charity.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Part of the magic of your storyline on this is
the fact that those that you have chosen to be
guests on the show, they all bring their own lives
to it, their own texture in life, and you just
make it an event that will change people's lives. You know.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
It's been really special to talk about, you know, grief
and moving forward and just life because life isn't always easy.
But when you can learn from somebody, when you can
share over a meal and really learn how to handle
the more difficult things in life, that's what's been really

(05:43):
special to me. But so many of my guests have
just every single one has brought something really special to
the table and it's been such a great learning experience.
And then next season. I'm coming back really really soon
with season two, and it's just going to be a
little less grief focused and a little bit more just
like hope, moving forward, life conversations, and it's going to

(06:04):
be really really great. So thank you for asking about it.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
You've got to come back to this show anytime in
the future, Kelly. I want to dig inside your imagination
because you're a Chicago girl that's in you know, going
out there and looking at the Southwest and it just
did you know, to go from that big city life
to something so wild is just mind blowing to me.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, to go from a city where you know, there's
also not a lot of exciting terrain in Chicago or
the Midwest where I grew up, and then to see,
you know, the mountains in Colorado and then the mountains
in Utah. It was just it was honestly surreal, I
think is the best word to describe it.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
I love it. Will you be brilliant today? Okay?

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Well, thank you, Erro you as well.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Thank you
