Speaker 1 (00:00):
I first arrived inside this forest in November of nineteen
ninety two, and right away I had to know what
is the history of this lay of land, what happened
here and how did it happen? What was the foresight
of what was about to take place? The arrival of humans?
Four stories on ero dot net, Arroe dot net Enjoy
the Exploration. Hey, my name is Errow, host of the

(00:23):
weekly podcast pod Crashing, four hundred and twenty one episodes
that connect listeners to podcast specialists around the world. My
goals have always been to inform our community with subjects
that deal with everything and beyond, because isn't that what
podcasting is. Podcast hosts are open and always filled with
a spirit that spreads their skills as journalists, medical specialists,

(00:46):
true crime soldiers, gamblers, motivators, spiritualists, actors and their famous children.
I mean literally, there's a podcast for every subject. Podcrashing
has been around since March of twenty nineteen. The original
goal was to put focus on helping up and coming
podcasters to have the right information about hosting as well
as surviving in podcasting. That idea went fifty four episodes

(01:11):
before adopting a new plan. Hey, take the conversations directly
to the podcasters those that are living it. The purpose
of podcrashing one on one is to always help build
your own platform, promote it, and maybe earn some cash
on the side. This is Podcrashing one on one episode

(01:32):
number four hundred twenty one. With so many unique and
different podcast subjects shooting around on those platforms, what subjects
are least likely to gather listeners and or downloads. The
answers aren't mine, but rather this is gathered information released
on who's checking in and who's checking out of podcasts.

(01:52):
There are eight different ones. Number eight podcasts tied to
outdated or obscure fandoms. If the fandom is down, your
numbers are gonna frown. Number seven extremely long episodes that
aren't edited. I mean, listeners will drop off like you
wouldn't believe. There are way too many sounds in the

(02:13):
background and listeners are like WHOA, what's going on here again?
Number six fiction podcasts that aren't highly produced and the
acting pretty much sucks. Yikes. The podcast subjects that listeners
are tuning into or cranking out of Number five podcasts
that are very local, small town community news. It's amazing

(02:36):
to those who live in that village. But to the
rest of the world, I mean, nobody cares about what's
going on with your HOA meetings. Okay, let's recap that
one more time. The top eight podcast subjects that listeners
are jumping into or jumping out up number eight. Outdated
podcast subjects, Number seven, long episodes that aren't edited. Number six,
unproduced fiction podcasts with bad acting. Number five very local

(03:00):
to small town community. So what do you think are
in the top four? You might be spot on do
one hundred percent to personal experience or disappointments, because you
know what, you probably stepped right into it. Hey, thanks
for coming back to podcrashing one on one. The goal

(03:21):
is to make this a learning tool, not to judge.
The top eight subjects of podcasts that listeners are tapping
into or jumping out of. We've already covered the first
numbers eight to number five. Now let's do the top
four podcasts that are pretty much not gaining access to
listeners At number four, poorly disoriented talk shows, two friends

(03:43):
chatting about nothing, no real hook which means no real structure.
I gotta go number three on the podcast list of
where listeners are not checking into personal audio diaries, Oh,
guilty as charged. If they do get a listen, it's
usually from someone doing the same thing. Diary style subjects

(04:06):
that get a following are hosted by people who understand
that walk, but they're not seeking fame. Number two very
technical academics. If you're an expert, it's amazing what you
know and what you've experienced. The average Joe Blow wants
nothing to do with this kind of show, mainly because

(04:26):
it's too deep deep legal codes. There are different things
that doctors are saying, pronouncing words that we would never
learn how to spell. And now the number one podcast
subject that listeners rarely, if ever check into. And trust me,
there are three areas of this that I am very
guilty of. I didn't know, but let's unveil the number

(04:47):
one hyper niche hobby podcasts subjects like model trains or
a space shuttle disconnection. Obscure historical reenactments are silent movies
with no shows. Nobody's staying for any of it, and
that's the reason why it's at number one. Eight Podcasts
that turn people off? Are you just as guilty as

(05:11):
I am? I'm Meryl and that's podcrashing One on one
