Speaker 1 (00:00):
When it's extremely difficult to make up your mind. You know,
having the power of choice can actually weaken a person's soul.
On this episode, we're going to explore why we keep
one leg in our past while trying to live in
what is called the present. Plus the choice to set
aside our old Bibles and take up a new version.
My name is Errol. Life is a series of choices.

(00:21):
Who decides when you're not making the right choice? Is
it a fear out of going wrong? The greatest lessons
in life are often lost inside hidden away attempts and concepts. Well,
it's time to reopen your heart. Having a choice is
your daily gift. On this highway, we must learn to
trust mirages. What is the choice? So why is it

(00:41):
that we keep one leg connected to our past? The
phrase is looked upon as being someone who has made
the choice to keep their past decisions and experiences in
the present. The mind becomes preoccupied on what's already happened.
There are several reasons why making a choice to stay
here in the now is a no show. Number one,

(01:01):
unresolved issues and trauma painful experiences are heavy on the heart.
It creates anger, sadness, and guilt as well as regret.
Number two fear of the unknown. Letting go of the
past is physically stepping into uncertainty. Number three. Cognitive biases

(01:22):
past experiences shape our beliefs and expectations. Number four. The
choice to let go is very difficult. Holding onto grudges
and closures is whoa This is powerful stuff. Number five.
Self sabotaging is very real behavior. It usually unfolds while

(01:43):
dwelling on your past. Nostalgia is a huge trigger when
it comes to living in the past. This is why
I don't listen to all these radio stations choosing new
rock over classic rock. The journey to living in the
present is not easy, but it's well worth the effort.
Hey coming up next, making the choice to change out bibles,

(02:08):
the old versus the new. Hey, thanks for coming back
to the choice. Making the choice to read from a
modern day Bible versus the old one that maybe your
grandparents had believe it or not. Religious leaders say it
offers a huge benefit to your presence in all things
right now. Modern day Bibles offer clarity mainly because the

(02:30):
readability is one hundred percent more digestible. One leader says,
the choice to pick up a New Big Book is
how they offer increased understandability. They use contemporary English vocabulary
and grammar. The new books also improve accuracy. They utilize
the strength of translation in hand. Study aids are shown

(02:51):
to bring more people toward the Word of God and
avenues of translation. Who would have ever thought paragraph divisions
and quotation would make it easier to study the Big Book?
There are new Bibles that offer translation notes, interpretation notes, commentary,
and cross references. Research shows the choice to tap into

(03:11):
a new Bible enhances reading, making it more accessible and
more understandable. Therefore, students of the Great Book become deeply engaged.
Let us all grow forward. I'm Maril, and that is
the daily mess
