Speaker 1 (00:00):
When creating aero dot net, it was my goal to
tap into your life and style, not say this is
the way that it is followed by my rules. I mean,
I know your life is filled with sports, spiritual journeys
as well as your love for spine tingling mysteries from
amazing new authors. Aero dot net, aarre dot net. Everything
(00:22):
has its own channel. It's for you to explore. I'm
one of those people that always likes to ask questions.
It would drive my parents insane. And the reason why
I ask so many questions is because the fun begins
when you start researching for answers such as while on
the web, are we truly reading or feeding? Our need
(00:43):
to gather a lot of content to make the attempt
to digest Plus Alexa from Amazon. Her latest upgrade is
more human than before, is Alexa listening to every conversation
that we share. My name is Erro. I'm a daily writer,
a silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do
(01:04):
nothing but watch, listen, study, then activate. I happen to
call it the daily Mess, a chronological walk through an
everyday world. Yeah, it's my morning writing as a receiver
of thoughts and ideas. We as people tend to throw
things to the side because we think we're going to
deal with it later on. When a subject arrives inside
of me, I know it's time to dig in. It's
(01:26):
still keeping that daily journal, but by doing the research
the picture becomes clearer. This is the daily mess. While
on the web, are we truly reading or feeding a
need to endlessly get more information? You ready for the cold,
hard facts we are feeding that need. Very little of
(01:50):
it has anything to do with reading. So let's define that.
What is true reading? Well, it's when you step inside
a book, a well written journalist piece, or a book
a motivation where you've truly slowed everything down. You follow
the sustained line of thought, giving yourself permission to accept
(02:11):
new changes as well as challenges. The big tester is
remembering what you actually read. During most Internet surfing adventures,
we tend to draw that blank. Social media is designed
to stimulate, to validate, to have some sort of control
on the illusion of all of this being such incredible information,
(02:32):
when in fact it is weight that goes right into
your areas of uncertainty. Each time you start to read,
the first step should always be to ask yourself, is
there something specific that you're looking for in this particular
story or book, or did you open the story or
app because of boredom, restlessness, or you're just flat out
(02:55):
lonely even with surfing, we feel informed. It's mental snacking
while being very emotional. Now, that doesn't make it bad.
It just means that you shouldn't be confused with what
it is that you're trying to shove between your eyes.
Coming up next with the new Alexa download, and as
(03:16):
human as they're trying to make her, is she listening
to us all the time, which basically means every conversation
we have is it being recorded and saved? Hey, thanks
for coming back to the daily mess. With the new
Alexa update available to each and every one of us,
is Alexa listening closer to our personal conversations now? Without hesitation,
(03:42):
I have been reminded over and over again that Alexa
from Amazon is not secretly listening to everything that you do.
But but, but but the microphone is always on and
for your knowledge, the information you plant in inside Alexa
goes to the Amazon server to be processed. Now that
(04:05):
I didn't know. It's the physical act of passive listening
versus active listening. Alexa is listening, but won't react to
what you're saying until invited to join the conversation. Alexa
doesn't record or upload normal conversation. Its job is to
listen for triggers. When you wake up, Alexa is when
(04:27):
she begins to record. You can prevent this by going
to the app itself. All of those interactions have been
saved on Amazon's digital cloud. While Alexa isn't listening to
everything we do experience, there are accidental triggers. If freaked
out by Alexa, mute the microphone, go into Amazon's app
(04:48):
and just delete the saved recordings. By the way, Alexa
can help you with setting your privacy on that digital device.
Ooh la la, And they say she's not listening. Oh
wait a second, Yes she is, but she won't record
anything until she's triggered. Okay, that explains why she gets
upset with me when I judge what it is that
(05:08):
she's doing. Like she tells me a bad joke. I say, Alexa,
that sucks, and she goes, well, if you're a better comedian,
then find your stage. I also judged her on her
weather forecasting today. I said, that's a little bit too
technical for an average person waking up at four o'clock
in the morning, and she goes, I am only doing
what I was programmed to do. She's really becoming my sister.
(05:33):
Hi'm Mary, and that's the daily mess.
