Speaker 1 (00:00):
You see it all the time on the commercials. Go
to this side, go to that website. Hey, if you
go here, you'll get more and more, more and more
and more. But wait, there's even more. No, there's only
one place. When it comes to the podcast aro dot
net a R r oe dot net, seventeen different podcasts
to choose from. Thanks for being a part of the journey.
I like asking questions. The reason why is because the
(00:21):
fund begins when you start researching for answers such as
how important is prayer and meditation? Now, this is not
a religious piece, It's just a conversation. Plus, how can
we center ourselves better in the way of taking note
of what peace really is versus what we assume through
other people's content. My name is Arrow. I'm a daily writer,
(00:44):
a silent wolf. That means I stand on the sidelines
and do nothing but watch, listen, study, then activate. I
happen to call it the Daily Mess, a chronological walk
through an everyday world. Yeah, it's my morning Pages. I've
been a daily writer since July of nineteen ninety four.
That's just a couple of weeks, right, Yeah, about a
couple of weeks. Yeah, right. As a receiver, of thoughts
(01:06):
and ideas. We as people tend to throw things to
the side and deal with it later. Well, when a
subject arrives inside of me, I know it is time
to dig in. It's still keeping that daily journal, but
by doing the research, the picture becomes clearer. This is
the daily mess. Now. I openly admit that I pray
(01:28):
every day. I also meditate, but that does not mean
that everyone should be doing it. But the question has
always come up, how important is prayer or meditation in
this deeply divided world? Wow, the research that I found
on this shocked me. I expected to read the freedom
to do this, the freedom to do that. Fly your
(01:48):
solo flag, HI be seen, be heard. Prayer and meditation
in this modern state of choice and living, more than ever,
it's needed. Not my word, this is what research shows.
It's not that it magically fixes the problem, but prayer
and meditation help repair the person engaging in them. Now
(02:09):
here's the fun part. Repair to people shows up differently
in each and every one of us. Your recovery versus
my experiences not going to be the same. We can't
control the news cycle, politics, and other people's choices. We can, though,
manage our internal climate. Believe it or not, meditation will
(02:31):
slow down the mind, steady your breathing, and lower your reactivity.
That in itself can change the direction of how you
are moving. The question is are you growing with it?
Meditation can be extremely loud. I laugh at that only
(02:53):
because I'll ask people about meditation. I can't do it, man,
just too many sounds, too many voices. I get it,
I get it. But coming up next we're going to
talk about it. It's just a conversation. Hey, thanks for
coming back to the daily mess. Nobody said Prayer and
meditation are easy to start with. It's personal in a
(03:17):
world where other people they want to do it for you.
I mean, how many people go to church every single
Sunday expecting the preacher to pray for them? Really, there
are five places to land your focus, create inner stability
in an unstable environment. Most of the time, it's not
what you say that leads people to peace, it's how
(03:38):
you act and react. Number two, reconnect your purpose. Prayer
is about anchoring, whereas meditation is learning to listen. Let
me say that again. Prayer is about anchoring, whereas meditation
is about learning to listen. Number three, Soften those hard edges.
(04:03):
Oh my God, please sharpen your hard edges. I can
see them. Division grows when people are unheard, unseen as
well as threatened. Prayer is compassion, Meditation is awareness. Did
you know that prayer is compassion, meditation is awareness. You've
got to be seen the difference between the two. Number four,
(04:26):
never forget. Peace is something that you must daily practice.
It is not a gift. The nation and world didn't
divide by accident. The goal is to take peace from
an internal experience and move it outward. Number five prayer
and meditation repair with the world has pulled apart. The
(04:48):
center focus should be on patience, empathy, and hope. What
you need is space. It is required to respond rather
than react. Hi'm meril, and that's the daily mess.
