Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm always asking questions. The fun begins when you start
researching for answers such as is it right to say
God calls you to do something? So many admit to
saying I've been called Is that right to say that? Plus?
Is it getting tougher to learn new digital things? If so?
Why my name is Errol. I'm a daily writer, a
silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines and do nothing
(00:22):
but watch, listen, study, then activate. I call it the
daily mass, a chronological walk through an everyday world. Yep,
it's my morning writing as a receiver of thoughts and ideas.
We as people tend to throw things to the side
and ah, maybe we'll deal with it later. But when
a subject hits me, I dig in. It's still keeping
that daily journal. But by doing the research the picture
(00:44):
becomes clearer. This is the daily mass. Is there such
a thing as doing something and instantly saying, well, God's
called me to do this? Really? There are a lot
of studies written about this very subject. One author calls
it Christian jargon, claiming that it's wrong because when they're
saying they're being called to something by a higher power,
(01:05):
it doesn't include newcomers and onlookers. I'm sure I'm very
guilty of creating what this author calls a nuanced method
of quirky speaking. What I find interesting are the number
of people who feel it's unhealthy to use the word
called calling or God's call as a way to describe
what they're bringing into each and every day. It's said
(01:26):
because it's looked upon as being a great honor. There
are seven reasons why we should remain careful. Bible words
should have Bible meanings. The New Testament never uses the
word calling. We are to be calling on God, not
God calling on us. One person says, declaring a calling
(01:47):
justifies our desires. How we speak has ways of confusing
other people. We make it look like we have a
very special relationship more than other people. How wise are
we when we say, Hey, I've been called to do this.
It's not wrong to say it. Just be aware of
how you're using it. Hey, Coming up next, these brand
(02:09):
new digital devices, are they getting tougher to use? Hey?
Thanks for coming back to the daily mess. In this
age of nearly everything digital, why is it still incredibly
difficult to set things up and properly use them? Number
one reason a lack of being familiar with technology and
its complex interfaces. Age related cognitive and physical limitations is
(02:33):
a huge issue. The older we get, the less interest
we have in learning new technology. Every generation bumps into
a few problems when dealing with new digital equipment. My
ocular goggles did not come with a set of rules,
nor do the apps that I use to play those
games inside the system. It's truly the school of hard knocks.
(02:54):
Rapid technology is a huge part of why so many
people are challenged to the point of showcasing some man.
The constant updates makes users feel outdated. Why did there
have to be changes? It was working just fine. In
the end, we disengage and become less interested in why
we even have the digital product. We recently purchased a
(03:15):
brand new ge kitchen stove. It's got Wi Fi capability.
Why yet, I love my thermostat on the wall and
on my smartphone. I can change the TIMP from anywhere
in the world. How cool is that? I'm Eryl and
that's the daily mess
