Speaker 1 (00:00):
I like asking questions. The reason why is because the
fund begins when you start researching for answers such as
why does it feel like we're all set in our
own way? Plus, when people ask you where you work,
how many answers do you come up with? My name
is Arrow. I'm a daily writer, a silent wolf. I
stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen, study,

(00:20):
then activate. I call it the daily mess, a chronological
walk through an everyday world. Yeah, it's my morning pages.
As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people
tend to throw things to the side because we think
we're going to deal with it later. Well, when a
subject arrives inside of me, I know it's time to
dig in. It's still keeping that daily journal, but by

(00:41):
doing the research, the picture becomes clearer. This is the
daily mess. Why does it feel like we're all set
in our own way? It's an emotion that we'll all
deal with at different points of our life. Being stuck
in your own way is defined as having an internal resistance.
We create habit loops. If a habit isn't offering up

(01:05):
positive success, the brain still supports it because anything else
feels unsafe. It's the fear of the unknown. It's easier
to stay in a cycle. It helps us with self
doubt those moments we feel unable. We aren't strong or
ready enough to walk a different path. So why are
so many people stuck in their own way? Our comfort zones?

(01:26):
I mean, change means being uncomfortable. If we don't see
a clear reward, we're not going to make the investment. Listen,
we all have those moments where we're gonna have to
deal with unprocessed emotions, you know, old fear, guilt, and grief.
They constantly take quiet shape, which then poisons our dreams
of wanting to move forward. As one person said, it's

(01:49):
like having one foot on the gas and the other
foot on the Breakugh. Hey, coming up next. When people
ask you, so, where do you work at? How many
answers do you tell them? Hey, thanks for coming back
to the daily mess. When people once asked where do
you work at? Ninety nine percent of the time the

(02:11):
answers that we gave people a long time ago was
one business. Not so much today. Has it become the
new American dream to have several different jobs? Yes? Due
to economic pressures, rising rent to inflation and living costs.
A single income no longer supports our system of survival.

(02:33):
It's called a gig economy. Platforms such as Uber and
door dash have made it simple to pick up an
extra few bucks along the way. Job stability is a
thing of the past. Lifetime careers are practically gone. This
has led people toward diversifying their income to feel more
secure in their life. Having a portfolio career or living

(02:57):
a side hustle culture is less stigmatized and often seen
as being a smart decision and very entrepreneur. Research shows
one in ten people are holding down more than one job.
Leading the pack are the millennials in Generation Z. Freelance
work is their daily path. Gigwork is working for a

(03:19):
lot of people pushing their lives forward. I'm Meryl, and
that's the daily mess.
