Speaker 1 (00:00):
How are you doing today, sir?
Speaker 3 (00:03):
I'm doing good today. What about you?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Absolutely fantastic, dude. I represent a lot of people from
the Kroger Harris Teter family that are so jealous of
me having this opportunity to share a conversation with you.
We are on your team one thousand percent.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yes, sir, thank you.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Just how you pull this from you at the age
you are. I mean, I'm just so blown away. I
really feel like that we are living music history.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
How are you able to bring this out of your soul?
Do you owe it to the church? Because I owe
everything to God myself?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yes, sir, I feel like I do owe it to God,
and that's why I try to give him my highest
praise any chance I can, which is every day on
my life.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Absolutely. You know when you're in this moment of now
and you're able to share it with the world because
it's chaotic out here in the world right now. But
when you sing, we leave, in other words, we sit
there and we take it all in. You give us
that opportunity to find calm and peace. How is it that?
What are you feeling on your side of the stage.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
There's nothing that moment and make sure that everyone feels calm.
I have to make sure that I know what I'm singing.
I have to make sure that I know the story
behind the song and what it really means. And the
song that I did from my knockout was God Only Knows,
and I really could connect to that because I do
feel like God he does know everything, and he sees
us when we're hurting, and he knows everything that we've
(01:31):
struggled with and been through. So I feel like if
I just know what I'm singing and make it my testimony, also,
I feel like it can be someone else's testimony and
they can testify to that song because or any song
that I'm spiritual phone that I'm singing, I feel like
they can connect to it because I mean, God really knows.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, well, that was a song for my daughter for
the Father Daughter dance, And so when you went into
that song, I was like, going, this guy is not
going to understand how many lives he's going to touch
with just bringing God only Knows.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Forward, Yes, sir, yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
So, Now, with the way that the worship bands are
changing inside churches these days, do you feel like that
you want to be a part of that as well,
because I come from Elevation Church and our Elevation Worship
band is just it's dominating the music scene. Do you
want to be a part of something like that, Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Sir, I would like to be a part of something
like that. And one day it was my dream to
be a worship leader. I would like to lead people,
and I feel like I probably would be a good
leader in the Christian industry because some people in the
Christian industry are hard and kind of mean a little bit.
(02:42):
But I feel like if I could just step in
and just help the team out and tell them what
we really need to work with and how we can
just get better as a church, and to help our
church out and lead them into worship.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Well, that means that you have compassion for other people.
Because even though the man or the woman sitting in
front of you when you're bringing God's Word to them
they've got their arms crossed, does not mean they're shutting
themselves off. I mean, you've got to be able to
have that vision of I'm still going to get in
there with the word. You can try to keep me out,
but I'm going to get in there.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yes, sir, I have to make sure that I have.
Maybe once I start leading and getting everybody into worship,
maybe one day some people will sit with their arms
up in the airs of a cross.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
See I understand that because we put our hands in
the air in elevation. Oh, I feel it. And sir,
so do you have a favorite story in the Bible?
Mine is when Jesus meets the Woman at the well.
What's one of your favorite stories?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is I
really like them all, but I like the one about
the Ram and the bush because I feel like a
lot of times there have been a ram in the
bush for me. Because God can just pop out of nowhere.
And I mean, He's always been good everything that you
need him to do. As long as it's not nothing
too crazy, He's got you back.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
So interesting that you say that, because during the lockdown
in my daily writing, I kept going, God, where are you?
Speaker 1 (04:09):
God, where are you?
Speaker 2 (04:09):
I don't understand this COVID nineteen And really inside my
heart I heard I'm here, where are you?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
And so that changed everything.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Their Yes, sir, sometimes we do feel like we're going
down the hill, but we just have to trust in
God and understand that He is there. But he's not
going to do everything on our time. And because he's
in our time and his timing and our timing is
very different. So we have to learn that he isn't
going to do everything when we want him to do,
no matter how bad we want it. We have to
(04:38):
make sure that we just trusting his word and don't
doubt God.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, that's one thing that a lot of people have
a hard time dealing with God's time because we do.
You know, we get Amazon. We're okay with waiting two
days to get that package. But with God's time, we
want it now. Lord please help us.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Now, Lord is there.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Sometimes on these other websites you have to wait a week.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
That's your patient.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
So we have to be the same way with.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
How do you like being down there in Georgia? I
mean there there's some because I'm here in Charlotte and
so I'm just up the road from you. But there's
something about the South, man, I just I love the
spirit of the South.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yes, sir, it's just it is something about the South.
It's a great place to be. But if you haven't
been here your whole life, you wouldn't understand why we
love to be here. But it's just always so calm.
If something crime wise happens is like the end of
the world for us because we're not used to it.
And like every everywhere else is like just an ordinary day.
(05:38):
But there's something happens here, it's just like, oh Lord,
everybody will lock in and go dow on lockdown. But
it's just great being in the South and doing country
folk thing and folk things and just getting to be
getting to be free.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Do you get to go out there?
Speaker 2 (05:56):
And because I believe in the lay of the land,
in other words, I believe that God put his spirit
inside the soil, and the more we walk through a
forest in a parking stuff, that God is speaking to
us to our feet, you know, like footprints in the sand.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Oh, yes, sir. I love to go out in my
backyard and go in the woods sometimes and go down
to my creek and just look at God's creation and
all that He's done.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
So you've earned the nickname Little music Man right away.
When I heard that, I went, oh, my God, because
it was little steady wonder. So therefore I mean, you, man, dude,
I've got nothing but visions for you.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yes, sir, I got the name Little music Man. A
long time ago. When I first started singing, I was
seventy years old, singing in churches and different churches and
different events. Well, different churches first, and then I started
regressing into different events like weddings and the festivals and.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Just different.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Places that we can do live music at. I just
got the name of the book because I was little,
very little. I got the name of the Little Music Man,
because not many people my age like to sing, and
especially not say for the Lord.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yes, absolutely, I'm a wedding DJ. So you're a wedding singer.
I mean, I'm sure you go through the same experiences there.
I mean, it is a very special day for that couple.
But man, when you get to bring your passion for
music to people on their wedding day, man, that's the
first step of a brand new beginning.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Sir. Yes, sir, it's a whole nother story right there.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Where can people go to find out more about you?
Because I want them to be in love with you
as much as we are in love with you.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
To find out more about me, you can follow me
on all social media platforms. All you have to do
is go to your little search bar and type Jaquim fortsun.
That is ja a uk e e M again j
a U k e e m M. And you can
search that on any social media platform and you'll see
(07:55):
my little face.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
We're sitting here at eleven o'clock in the morning. Why
aren't you in school or are you?
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I am in school, but I was excused to come
do this because again, I live in the small town
of Georgia, and everybody knows everybody, and they know that
I'm doing something good.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Oh God loves you.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
You know that, right, Yes, sir, oh I love it.
If you ever make it up to Charlotte, please let's
get together. I would love to invite you to Elevation
Church and we'll go sit and we'll take on the
experience together.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Oh yes, sir, We've been planning to come to Elevation Church.
So maybe if we come, we'll see you there.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
I hope. So you'd be brilliant today, okay, sir, Yes, sir,
you too.
