Speaker 1 (00:00):
In radio, they always tell us one thought per break.
So why would I put an NFL star with a
YA author or a movie star with a doctor who
says I've cured cancer aero dot net, a R R
O E dot net, seventeen different podcasts and subjects to
enhance your life. Thank you so much for being a
part of mine, Corbyn. I have experienced the belt Ham

(00:22):
I've got I want to talk about this, but I
do not want to spoil it. And I just I
just I'm still thinking about this movie and it's been
four days.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
But that's the kind of movie it is. It's uh,
you know, it's not a while. It does have plenty
of you know, jump out of your seat spooky moments,
which it does. I mean I've seen it several times
now it still does. It is a movie that it
gets into a little bit. You know, what is it about?
What is it about motherhood? Folklore? What is it about aging?
Which is really not talked about, but you know, uh,

(00:54):
you know the way we look back at things, and
uh yeah, it gets in here. Well it makes you
want to explore.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Speaking of looking back at things. That's the reason why
I've got to go back for a third time, because
I want all of my attention to be on you
and I don't want to spoil it. But some things
go down in this movie in the middle and the
end where I think that you're telling us what's going
on in this story way back at the beginning.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
You know, that's very observed in w And you know,
if you just look at the neutrality of my character, yep,
I will, which is hard to do because you want
to act right, you want to act, you want to
do something. And look how many times I just put
my hand on the shoulder, you know, and just and
settle the pace and just say here's where you're be

(01:43):
in this moment, and you'll figure it out. Yeah, you know,
you certainly. Look. I have so little to say in it,
which is great because they have to learn a lot
of lines at night. But that presence is is and
I didn't really had it until we got into it.
I didn't even know it. Reading the script. She knew
there was something in there, and then angela wonderful first

(02:06):
time director, pulled it out and and I think it is.
You go back and you could look through my character
and go, oh, I see what's coming.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, you had one of the toughest jobs ever in acting,
and that is facial expressions, body language. I mean if I,
if you didn't put your entire self into it, that
role wouldn't have worked. Because I felt you in this movie.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Well that's nice, man. I appreciate that because you know,
as an actor, I'm not a line counter. You know
how many lines do I have? Or if you really
look at there's something really interesting and see somebody don't
have to watch the movie to see this. There's a
lot of times where I'm in a scene and you
there's no close up with me, you see a part
of me, you know, you see a piece of me,
I hand on the shoulder, you see part of my

(02:51):
flannel shirt, and it was it was a you know,
I never thought of it as a you know, a
performance of facial expressions because I don't think about that
kind of stuff. Just what am I doing there at
that moment? And how does that help serve the larger story?
But yeah, you know, you've got to have a lot

(03:13):
going on inside your head if you don't have words
coming out of your mouth.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
But doesn't it also embrace family in the way of
that even though we are aging in life, we still
have a voice, and we need to be heard. And
yes we do go back and dream about younger days
and times, but then we have to have somebody there
to be the anchor. And I swear to God, you're
you're that anchor.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I am the anger. But here's well, I don't want
to get's so funny because I can say things you
don't want to give it away. Exactly do I exist,
you know, and if so, do what on what level?
And you know, it's funny. I've often played even though
even La Law, you know, I was considered a lead

(03:55):
actor or certainly major league, but really it was Tom
and Charlie, you know, they were coming out of Platoon.
And I've always been sort of a felt, even with
this show psych that I did more recently, I feel
more like Ringo, you know, the guy who's wasn't that
all the attention? He just keeps the beat, you know,
And if you listen to Ringo, if you really listen

(04:17):
to a Beatles song and you listen to Ringo, you
go like, oh, that's that's sort of the beat the
rhythm of the show of the thing, you know. And
I've sort of embraced becoming that character often.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Please do not move. There's more with Corbyn Burnson coming
up next the name of his latest movie, The beled Ham,
And you're gonna have to watch it two or three
different times because there's a lot going on and you're
going to learn something greater every time. We are back
with actor Corbyn Burnson. Let me ask you a question
about the birds that are featured inside the belt. And

(04:50):
it's become only because I'm such a bird fanatic. Are
they crows? Are they ravens? But I saw the white
around their neck and my heart said, no, these are magpie?
What are they?

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Ye? Beats me, man, I hate birds. Yeah, we say
crows a lot, you know. Uh, but that's a good question.
You'd have to ask Angela about that. I think they're crows,
but crows are all black. But so they ring around
the neck wood? Yeah yeah. Uh. Ravens, well, all those

(05:24):
birds are sort of horror movie birds, are they are? Yeah?
They are bagpies surely, crows and ravens, but you know
they I'll tell you whether they or not. Blue Jay's
are red robins for sure.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
So true, so true. So now one of the things
that I could really relate with when it comes to
this movie, and we can talk about this because I
don't think it spoils it the grave site out there
in the garden, because I'm here in the South. They
are everywhere, and if you find one, you're blessed. You've
you've been called to that place. So I mean, that's
what I really felt in watching this is that there
was such honor and and beauty and embracing that that

(05:58):
that you know, that gravestone in the ground.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Basically, yeah, because people don't realize. We didn't, you know,
we people and we say it in the film. You know,
people used to it was not uncommon to build to
bury a family member in your garden, right, you have
to go, you know, pay four hundred and seventy three
dollars at some memorial park. You stuck them in the
ground where they fell. Ye by the Wild West, you

(06:21):
actually stuck them in the ground where they fell. You know,
if you got lucky, you found a hilltop. But I
didn't know that. So you're blessed if you come across
the gravestone in your garden.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
I do believe that, Yeah, yeah, Because I mean there's
a lot of places here in Charlotte where the old
slave cemeteries are, and we're finding them as they continue
to escavate the land to put homes in. And then
you know what they do, they don't build there, or
what they do is they build an area where that
grave site is honored. Even though it's a brand new home,
that grave site is still honored. It's it really is
a love story.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Well that's great, that's that's really wonderful to hear. I
didn't know that. That's great. But yeah, I mean, you know,
there's a lot I live upstate New or and you
see a lot of homes here who have you know,
family plots like in there, you know, just outside them,
beyond their pool, if you will, And they're great there,
you know, ten little gravestones.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
You know, and uh, you know a lot of people look,
certain people will shy away from it, but uh, you know,
I think it's all about legacy and you know, and
I don't know for me personally.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
I guess I'd rather be put where my home is
than stuck in a memorial park on the side of
a freeway.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
So true, so true. Where can people go to find
out more about you? Corbyn? Because you are so actively
involved with so many different styles of music. In fact,
I'm hoping that you have another faith based movie coming out,
because you are brilliant in those as well.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Well you can.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
You know, I'm not really good with keeping up all
of my social platforms and all of that stuff. You
certainly google my name and probably find out what I've
been in. I'm in. I'm trying to get a little
bit better with the Instagram and all that. I said
something yesterday, it was my thirty seventh Anniverse Tree yesterday
to my wonderful wife Amanda, and I posted one thing

(08:07):
and like, oh, well, look at all these people responded.
I'm still I'm not like a social media guy. I
am working with one of my sons on a website
to you get everybody a little bit more present. But
I don't know. Just listen to find people like you,
and you'll see that. I'm in the bedlam and beld
him I said, bedam gosh, I always do that, and

(08:31):
it is.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Bedlam in the beldumuh And uh, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
You'll find me if I just keep your ear to
the ground and you'll find me. I find my way
to you. You don't have to find your way to me.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Absolutely well, please come back to this show. Anytime in
the future. The door is always going to be open
for you.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Thank you, sir.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Will you be brilliant today?

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Okay, I am on my way.
