Wings of Steel, the rising stars of traditional heavy metal, unleash a powerful new single and music video Burning Sands. This electrifying track is the third and final single from their highly anticipated sophomore album, Winds of Time, and follows two critically acclaimed singles from the album released earlier this year; We Rise & Winds of Time. Burning Sands masterfully blends old-school metal with a contemporary twist, featuring driving heavy guitar riffs and scorching solos, top-tier soaring vocals, and a monumental, utterly face-melting middle section that offers a powerful display of the epic journey awaiting listeners with the full album.

The accompanying music video, filmed in the desolate expanse of Poland's Błędowska Desert, provides a striking visual metaphor for the song’s powerful message. The band comments on the track’s timely theme: “Burning Sands illustrates the dire consequences of geopolitical events that could lead to nuclear war and the annihilation of humanity. This aligns with a common underlying lyrical theme on the album, best encapsulated by Mark Twain's observation: 'History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.'”

Winds of Time is sure to be a landmark release for Wings of Steel, and is a testament to their unwavering dedication to the genre and their relentless pursuit of musical excellence. The album is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 17, 2025, and promises to deliver a combination of captivating narratives, hard-hitting tracks and memorable melodies.

Fans eager to secure their copy of Winds of Time can now pre-order the album in both CD and Vinyl formats. For those in the USA/Rest of World, pre-orders are available directly via the Band's official website: https://wingsofsteelband.com/  European fans can secure their copies through High Roller Records: WINGS OF STEEL

Not here, it's seventeen different podcasts. Ero dot Net A
r r o e dot Net. Enjoy the exploration. Hello,
hey man, how are you doing today?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Good?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
How are you absolutely fantastic and very fired up to
talk with you?

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Man?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, it's good to be good to be talking with
you here again.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Well man, I mean you, I mean, you guys are
just so spot on with where music is growing right now,
because I mean you take a listen to some of
these new classic rock radio stations or even new rock
radio stations, and it's like, my god, you guys deserve
to be right in there and making your own wave.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Oh thanks man.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
So, now to go into this project, First of all,
I want to talk about the song Wins of Time
because it also becomes the title track hit. The thing
is is that how are you able to bring this
together the way that you did, knowing that the marketability
that we have nowadays with album and CDs as well
as Spotify and iHeart and stuff. How are you pushing
that envelope because even the video itself, My god, the

(01:08):
instrumentation now it's like okay, now let's push it forward,
let's get it out there.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah, I mean really it was we we wrote that song.
It was the first song that we wrote when we
were doing the record, and we just kind of had
this idea to put that out as the first single
because it would be such a thing that you you know,
you you don't belts. Bands don't put out a single
that's you know, over over four or five minutes, let

(01:34):
alone over you know, that's almost eleven minutes there. But
we just felt that it really reflected what we were
about as a band, and we wanted to put that
front and center.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
And it seems to have worked out really well. You know,
people really dug it.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
And but we have other songs on the record too
that are not ten minutes, so.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, but it just it just seems to fit right in.
I don't know if it's because we all want that escape,
because when you when you happened to the song, it's like, okay,
just take me somewhere, but don't don't make it a
three and a half minute song, because that means I
have to go look for somewhere again in three and
a half minutes. So no, I do like the link
of that.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Yeah, totally, man, I mean it's a it's a journey
listening to that song. It really, it goes through a
bunch of different phases, but it's still it all kind
of wraps together, and yeah, it's a really cool thing
to be able to objectively listen to it. So, you know,
having something that we wrote on on our latest record,
it's something we're really proud of.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
You know, what was it like to put that together though?
Because I mean so you know, so many times listeners
will sit there and they just think that these things
just pop out. You know, I was done and you know,
ready to go in fifteen minutes. I'm not thinking this
one was that way.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Well, I don't think there's ever been any song we've
written though, was done in fifteen minutes.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
It's pretty insanely fast. But to be honest with you.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Mel Man, it is kind of written the same way
that any other song is written.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
You kind of.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
You'll have some ideas when you go into it that
you kind of have, like, Okay, I have this riff,
or I know I want to do this is kind
of a section here or whatever, and then it all
just kind of grows from that. So with that song,
it's kind of had the we had the beginning riff
and then you know, we did that, and then we said, okay,
let's go to a chorus, and we had a chorus

(03:17):
and then uh, then we let's go somewhere else. We
want to like this heavier section, and then it goes
completely the other thing, and it kind of just like
every part that we went to, Like the next thing
that we went to was like, okay, yeah, this is
where we should go. And then and then eventually, after
a long time, we're like, okay, yeah, now I think
we wrapped it up well. But but it it's really

(03:39):
written the same way that every other song is written.
And even though it's it's significantly longer, it's not, uh,
it doesn't take necessarily significantly longer to like write and
record it.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah. I was talking with somebody yesterday about about the vocals,
and of course you know he's sitting there saying, oh,
Robert Plants the best, the best, the best, and I said, no, no,
you need to listen to this band Wings of Steel. Dude,
you changed him I mean because because it's a great
rock voice. It's exactly what we want in great rock
music or great metal music.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
No, totally, man, I'm really I'm really stoked that.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
You know, me and Leo met however many several years ago,
and we've been we've been working together ever since because
you know his voice. There's not really a lot of
singers out there today that are younger in his age
range that are really singing like that.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
But the thing is too, is like he has a lot.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Of uh, there's a tremendous amount of control of his range.
It's not just up there all the time. You know,
he can do that, he can sustain it. But he's
also got all he's got a great law register, he's
got a lot of dynamics and expression and it uh yeah,
I mean it works really really well.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, But don't don't the guitars play a huge part
in that because I've always believed in fitting in between,
because when I was with the band and stuff like that,
it was always like, Okay, how am I going to
fit into their presentation? And it doesn't sound like it's
like vocals guitar, vocals guitar, You know what I mean
by that so it doesn't sound choppy. I mean, you
guys really blend all that together.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
No, absolutely, man, And that's kind of the that's just
kind of the way we always go about it. It's
always a blend of the guitar and the voice, and
they're always playing off.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Of each other. Yep. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
So before I even heard the song Burning Sands, right away,
I'm going, please tell me it's about the desert, the desert,
the desert. I go to the video and it's like,
now I have to ask the question as to take
it even further. Is it a desert or is it
a river bed? Because my heart is telling me it's
it's a riverbed.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
So this the song, I guess metaphorically or with the
lyrical content, I think a real proper desert would be
a fitting description. But quick, quick backstory in that video,
So we were, uh, this was last summer when we
filmed it, last July. We were we were doing a
European tour and so we didn't really have the ability

(05:51):
to go.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
You know, if you wanted to go to like a real,
real desert, we'd have.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
To fly to like Africa or something like that, and
it just wasn't logistically and timing wise, it was a possible.
But we were playing a couple of shows in Poland,
and it turns out in southern Poland they have you know,
they call it the biggest desert in Europe, you know,
and it's like a it's like a giant patch of sand,
you know, in between and it's like a break in
the forest.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
So it's kind of it's a strange anominally.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
But anyways, so we ended up saying, Okay, well, you know,
we can just drive over there. It's a few hours
from when we're playing, and we'll set up and shoot
the video.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
And that's what we did. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
But see, that's to me, that's what it's all about.
It's theater the mind. I mean, I thought that was
the reason why we all tapped into MTV was because
it really did take us into an area. It's like, wow,
now I've got a new interpretation of the beats.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Oh totally, man, totally.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Now, how do you take that to your twenty twenty
six tour then? I mean, because I mean, i mean,
once you're in the studio, that's one thing. Then you
go and you mess around with a video, now that's
another level. So how do you take that to a
live audience and does that fire you up? Knowing that,
oh my god, on the other end of these riffs,
there's gonna be somebody out there going god.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Well, I'll tell you man.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Like when we're in the studio, you know, it's one
thing to write and record it and you get a nice,
polished final product that's going to be out there and
cemented forever on the CDs and the recordings. That's that's
one side of the art form. But realistically, when you're
doing that, you we write these songs because they're designed
to be played live. So when you get the chance

(07:24):
to do that, and you know, when you get to
do the chance to do that on a large stage
in front of a lot of people, which is you know,
we have many of these opportunities next year with our
North American tour and then also where we're going in Europe.
It's it's it's a really cool thing, man, That's that's
what it's all about. So I think, you know, whether

(07:45):
whether we have a big production or a small production
or whatever, like, the most important thing is we're able
to go there and play these music, play this music
cranked up loud on a big stage, and I think
that's gonna be uh, that's.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Gonna be really really cool. So we're super excited.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
You're gonna be over there doing any of the festivals,
because I've always heard that the festivals over there are
much more powerful and much more moving than they are
here in the States.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yes, we were, I think right now. We actually just
announced one this morning. We're playing in Spain.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
There's a few and some really really big ones too,
like like hell Fests or Rock and Perium with some
really like Iron Meeting and Queen's Reich and Halloween, and
you know, we're playing with some really really big names
that you know that we're very much influenced by, that
we're huge fans of.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
So it's gonna be really cool.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Just just to be able to say we played on
the same stage as as bands is awesome.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Didn't that feel good to still be a kid though?
Like that? Because I mean, how many times did you
sit in a guitar or in a garage or in
your bedroom thinking that one day, one day, one day,
what if? What if? What if?

Speaker 3 (08:49):
It's pretty crazy, man, you know. I mean, we've really
our band has been acted for three years. I mean,
I say we've been doing it for five because that's
when Leo and I started right in everything. But it's
really unfolded, I guess in the in the grand scheme
of things, that's been very quick. So it's kind of
sometimes like I step back and I think, like, holy shit,

(09:10):
Like we're like while we're doing this and we're playing
with these guys here, and you know it is really cool.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Man, Please do not move. There's more with Wings of
Steel coming up next. The name of the new collection
of music is Wins of Change. We're checking back in
with Paul from Wings of Steel. Well, you did bring
up queens Reich, and of course in all the research
that I was doing, I realized that there are some
people that are comparing you guys to Queens Reich as
well as Judas Priest. How do you bind around that

(09:40):
or is it okay to say, okay, you can compare us,
but we are not We are who we are wings
of Steel.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Well, I think you just said it right there. I
mean Judas. I think Judas Priests more so than Queen's Reich.
I think Queen's Reich we get compared to you a lot,
but realistically they're not fraud I mean, they're a great band,
of course, but they're not as.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Big of an influence as people think.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
I actually think that we share more influences with Queens,
Aren't because we like all the seventies stuff that, you know,
the Rainbow and deep Purple Ed Zeppelin, which I know
I'm sure the Queens are people were checking out too,
So maybe maybe that's why we have a lot of
similarity with the sound Judas Priests. Yeah, we like Judas
Priests a lot, But at the end of the day,

(10:24):
you know that these the our band, isn't you know,
We're not trying to emulate anybody.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
We're just doing our thing.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
And I think ultimately, when you think about what these
great bands in history were doing back in the day,
they weren't trying to replicate some band from a prior decade.
They were just writing the music that was inspiring to
them and that's what they did. And you know, that's
exactly what Leon and I are doing today with Wings
of Steels. So I think as we continue to do

(10:53):
that more and more, and you know, grow our thing
and more people hear about it, I think I think
we will continue to stand.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Out in a league of our own.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
See My favorite thing to do with you guys is
I'll sit there and I'll ask Alexa to play your music. See,
I don't know what's coming up next. Only Alexa knows that.
And that's the thing that I love about it is
that every song, it doesn't matter fa how many times
I've heard it. When she plays it next, I'm going, damn, yeah,
that's it. That's the one I want to hear right now.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
That's nice.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Well, I'm glad that Alexa has good taste for picking
her songs.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
But yeah, I mean, I mean, too bad they don't
let the bands be in control of the programming though,
I mean all those analytic numbers and things like that.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Yeah, well, I mean there's there's a lot of that
stuff that like we can see. But I mean, yeah,
I think Alexa, that's that's personal. And the thing too,
is like we have we have a very wide range
of stuff in our catalog, and I think some people
gravitate towards other sides of it. Some people gravitate, but
some people, you know, they just love all of it.
And you know, for us, it's like, hey, whatever, whatever floats,

(11:53):
you're both we're glad that we wrote something that you
dig you know, I I.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Have a feeling that people are going to be gravitating
towards we rise, and it's because of the mindset and
the emotion that you put in there. Sure it's got
kind of a darky edge to it though, but my god,
if you really sit back and listen to those lyrics,
there's a story that's building up here the very second
things start happening.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Yeah, totally, man, I mean that that song actually, that
was one of the singles that came out from the
record before.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
The album came out.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
It came out I think in July, and so we
were on the road in Europe and we got to
play that song basically right after it came out of
the day it came out, and from the get go,
just playing live like people were singing along with it,
and you know, it had a really really great response
from day one. So you know, it's and it's I

(12:43):
mean C two like when we when we see the
numbers on the record and you know what songs are
getting attention, that one's done really really well across the board.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
So a lot of people do who's who's in control
then of what makes it to a live performance? Because
I guess my ego so damn big that I would
sit there and say, they're all going, they're all playing.
That's it, man, I'm not going to spend that much
time on an album or an EP and then sit
here and only play one or two songs off from it.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Well.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
The challenging thing is always when we get like these
these gigs where we don't have like a full headline set.
We did, we were able to play some headline shows
this year, and those we pretty much played every song
that we have.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
It's not all maybe with minus a few, but.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
So our cat you know, we're only two two records, yeah,
two records, an.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
EP and a live record.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
We're still able to fit most of that into you know,
ninety one hundred minute set.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
If we're we're doing which is really cool.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
You know, I'm not I can't well, now that we
have the second record out, I can't say that anymore.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Because now it's too much.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
But it's always a challenge when you do the when
you play the smaller you know, forty five minute spot
or whatever, so you just kind of have to, you know,
pick some. We always try to do ones like Okay,
we know a lot of people like this song. A
lot of people like this song like but then also like, yeah,
but this song is really cool live, Like we always

(14:12):
try to blend it. It's a it's not an easy
thing to do, but you know, I think at the
end of the day, we figured it out and it
works a good.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Are people freaky like me that when they get up
next to you on that on that stage, if wherever
they're sitting and they're watching your fingers because I'm a
finger person. Most people like to read lips and things
like that. But man, with you, you know, with everything
on that guitar, I've got to sit there and watch
what you're doing with those with those fingers.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Yeah, I've got some people staring, you know, especially see
when you played some of these smaller places where you know,
the fans can literally stand right up to the stage.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
But no, I you know, it's cool. I get it.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
I totally get that, because I mean, there used to
be a time when the only time that we ever
learned a guitar riff or a solo was that you
really slowed down the forty five or album and you
so this way, when we see you live, we can
sit there and just emulate you and sit there and
try to it'say like he did this, he did this,
he did this, and say, what the hell, how is
he even doing that? It's like a magic trick up there.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Yeah, you know, it's it's cool, especially if you're a
guitar player interested in that stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
This is watching them live, see it live. It gives
you some really cool insights.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
So what are you seeing in? Are you chasing radio?
Because I mean the thing about it is, like I
said the right right off the bat, is that the
rock stations are really going through an evolutional change right now.
And what was it? iHeart last week said we want
more one on one contact, we want more one on
one with people that know the bands, And I'm going
this is okay, this is the street I want to
belong on. If they're truly going after the next level,

(15:41):
then this is it.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, you know, I mean, we'll we'll see it.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
As the bottom line for us is, you know, we
want to just put out our music in front.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Of as many people who are going to enjoy seeing it.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
So if the radio is a great avenue for us
to do that, We're going to continue to who we
can to try and get our stuff out there.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
And yeah, I saw some Canadian numbers on there when
it came to your tour. What's that like traveling up
there into Canada, because it's because that come from Montana
and the Canadian music was always a little bit different.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yeah, you know, I mean, I there's a lot of
great Canadian bands out there, you know, I mean one
of one of that comes to mind is you and
I really like Triumph.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
You know. Yes, there's definitely you know, among many others, but.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
You know, so there's a great appreciation for heavy music
out there. And and yeah, I mean we know, we
already know we have a lot of fans, and it's
really cool for us. I mean, we get to do
the literally the full full content. We go from Nova
Scotia all the way over to Vancouver pretty much everything
in between. So you know, for us, have you never
played in Canada. That's gonna be really cool for us

(16:49):
to get out there and introduce our live sound.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
To all those crowds.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
So and and it's in April, which is you know,
probably won't be the warmest time of year, but at
least it's not uh, you know. The the tour starts
with in the US February through March, so at least,
you know, and it starts in Florida and February, so
at least weather wise, it'll be a little nicer there.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Then happen to go through a blizzard.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
But well, being out there on that road, you got
to have some merch. What do you what do you
got on that table?

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Well, I cannot, I cannot disclose the full full details yet,
but but we're gonna have we will have some exclusive
stuff that uh that has.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Not been seen anywhere else yet.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
So uh yeah, because there's there's a big kick going on,
especially here in Charlotte when it comes to ban merch
is that I'll sit there and I'll ask him about it,
and they'll sit there and say, well, it was something
that I that I got because I just like the
logo and I'm going, I'm going, there's got to be
more than that then. And so now so when I
seeing your guys, is you know the way that everything
is designed, I'm going, this is this is stuff can sell?

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Oh yeah, I mean you know I think the well
first first, some say the fans of hard rock and
heavy metal are some of the most supportive fans.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
They love shirts and they love merch. And God bless.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Them all for that, you know, because the bands, that's
that's where the bands make most of their money is
on merch or these by and large, but also too,
I think it's really cool. You know, you have your
merch that you sell online, but it's also if somebody
goes and sees you on a tour, if you have
like an exclusive item from that tour that you can't

(18:29):
really get anywhere else, and that's a really really cool
like momentum or sorry souvenir or token of seeing the
band on that tour.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
So being able to offer something like that is really cool. Dude.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
I still have my Ace Freely guitar pick, and I
also have part of the balloon from Jethro Tull back
in nineteen seventy seven. Of course that stuff is important
to people that are in that live audience.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Yeah. Wow, that's awesome, man.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
I mean, but that's what you guys do to your fans,
is that you give them that experience that they can
take with them, well beyond that moment inside that auditorium.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Absolutely, you know, the the experience, you know, even though
you go there and the band only plays for however long,
and it's it's over before you know it. That experience
resonates for a longer period of time, you know, even
if you don't buy anything, but of course if you
have something to show for it, it just it's immensed
it even further.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
See that's the reason why I got charged ship When
you said the live collection of music, I'm going really okay,
now you have my attention, because this right here is
tailgating material. When you got a live sound man, you
want to you want to really get jacked up before
you step.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
In, totally man, totally wow.

Speaker 1 (19:38):

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
