Speaker 1 (00:00):
Missed opportunity. I love sharing conversations. Hosting requires show prep.
My podcasting platforms feature thousands of guests. What you don't
have access to are the missed opportunities. The show prep
was completed, the conversation didn't happen. I keep all of
my notes because I believe that paths will one day

(00:21):
cross again. Let me explain missed opportunity. It's my questions
and statements without their answers. I'm going to leave enough
space open at the end of each question, hoping they'll
download the talk and insert their answers. Missed opportunity is
a lost piece of history. It's like a message in
a bottle tossed out to see I hope to locate

(00:44):
the destination. This week, we're putting focus on my missed
opportunity with Vivek Ramaswami. I first learned of the invitation
to have this conversation on September thirteenth, twenty twenty four.
He has a brand new book out. It's titled True
the Future of America. First New York Times bestselling author,

(01:04):
accomplished entrepreneur, and former presidential candidate. Vvk Ramaswami has a
plan to save America, and it begins with telling the truth.
Today's conservatives know what they're against. They're anti woke, anti globalist,
and big government. But what exactly do they stand for?
The fact that this is a hard question to answer
is a damning indictment of the modern Republican Party, which

(01:26):
has objectly failed to articulate an affirmative alternative to the
left's vision. Ramasami calls on the conservative movement to articulate
exactly what it stands for. The interview was to take
place on September twenty seventh between nine and eleven am,
fourteen days after I received the email. It said I
would have seven minutes beginning at ten twenty four am.

(01:47):
On Wednesday, September twenty fifth, ten twenty nine am, I
received an email due to a change in its travel schedule,
the vvak Ramaswami radio tour for Friday, September twenty seventh
is being postponed. We're trying to get a new date
for the tour. As soon as we have it, we'll
let you know missed opportunity. Here are my questions. Politicians

(02:08):
promising change is like a radio station trying to give
away ten thousand dollars does somebody really win? Makes me
wonder if during his journey he tried to win a
radio contest, maybe a free album, some concert tickets. Does
he even play the lottery? Your book is called Truths
the Future of America. First, there are so many levels

(02:29):
to this title because I believe that immigrants do believe
in America. Seriously, sit down and think about that. In fact,
ask people questions instead of judging them. Ask them questions.
But it would be really interesting to find out how
he would respond telling the truth in a clickbait generation?
Define what truth is? I laugh at this one, and

(02:53):
the reason why is because we've become that generation, the
conspiracy generation. Do you believe it? If you don't stick
around somewhere on the line year to go? Well? What
if we are the generation that reads a quote on
Google and takes a stand without doing any research. I
do wonder if he does his own research, or if
it's something that's dropped on his desk every day or

(03:15):
sent through an email. I mean seriously, I mean, if
you're reading it through a digital device, is it the
same as putting your nose in your own books? Learning
how to stop the lies people are ending? Lifelong relationships
because of politics. Guilty is charged, and guilty I'll always
be charged because Mom used to tell me all the time,

(03:36):
don't bring politics into any conversation. But there doesn't seem
to be that wall anymore. So I wonder if it
would be very difficult to talk with him about politics
because of the way that my mother brought me up.
Does honesty even exist? How do people facing seventeen hundred
dollars a month just in rent not feel that starvation
could be the next step in their generation. I'm serious

(03:57):
about this because I'm concerned about EBT. How something like
that actually exists? And I think this man would have
a better answer for me. You have set up a
stage with a brand new book. How do you keep
people activated? Now? The reason why I wanted to bring
that up is because activation doesn't always mean that you
have to agree and support. Activation is also bringing something
up that you could just break out in a conversation

(04:19):
with and activation is something that is very important, but
too many people are running away from it. He obviously
wants to be an activator. The word strive does it
still exist? I mean, we need real leadership. How do
you find peace in an anti woke world. Same is
true about an anti globalist world. This absolutely takes me

(04:40):
back to the research. Does the average person know exactly
what I just asked? And I would love to hear
somebody who is so close to it express their version
of the journey. Hey. Coming up next, my final three
questions for vivek Ramaswami. Hey, thanks for coming back to
Missed Opportunity with vivek Ramasami. My final three questions as

(05:06):
an independent voter. I realized I've voted more for Republicans
than Democrats, but I'm still an independent. Just because you
vote for a certain candidate doesn't mean that you have
to wear their jersey for the entire season. That's the
one thing that I love about being an independent. You
have the power of choice. I would like to know
how he feels about those of us that feel that way.
You aren't a politician, which is why I love what

(05:28):
you're doing with your voice. You put it out there
inside a book and on several different stages. Actually, my
deeper question is is that how are you being heard?
Why are you being heard? You see the opportunities out there.
You seem to be showing up on time and in
tune but what are you doing to stay fully activated?

(05:50):
And now the final question for vvek Ramaswami, America first
is a movement. I'm not sure people know what the
country is really all about. This totally comes from my
opportunity to be with people every day inside a grocery
store where I ask them about things that they're doing
in their life. And the number one answer that I
keep receiving from a lot of people I woke up today,

(06:13):
that's not the American dream. Where is the American dream?
It's more than being above ground, missed opportunity, a lost
piece of history. You know the questions, Let's locate the reactions.
