Speaker 1 (00:00):
My name is Harrol, and this is missed opportunity. I
love sharing conversations. Now, hosting does require some show prep.
My podcasting platforms feature thousands of guests. What you don't
have access to are the missed opportunities. The show prep
was completed, the conversations didn't happen. I keep every single
note that I take because I believe that paths will
(00:21):
one day cross again. Let me explain missed opportunity. It's
my questions and statements without their answers. I'm leaving open
enough space at the end of each question hoping that
they'll find this, they'll download it and insert their answers.
Missed opportunity is a lost piece of history, like a
message in a bottle tossed out to see you hope
(00:41):
to locate a destination. This week, we're putting focus on
my missed Opportunity with actor and fellow podcaster Freddie Prinz
Junior and comedian Jeff Dye. Now, the thing with Freddie
is is that we were supposed to meet a couple
of times, once in twenty twenty two and then again
in twenty twenty three, and both times they didn't happen.
So we'll kick things off with January fifth, twenty twenty two.
(01:02):
That's when I received the first invitation to help promote
season two of his podcast about professional wrestling, and it
said that he had to have fifteen plus minutes in
this conversation, and I said, let's do it, Let's make
it happen. And then it didn't. And the reason being
is it was just like, Okay, it's going to be moved.
We'll get back to you. And that did not happen,
but it happened again in twenty twenty three. That invitation
(01:25):
came in on March twenty eighth, twenty twenty three, and
this time around it was going to be Freddy Prince
Junior and his comedian friend Jeff Die the podcast once
again about professional wrestling. What the podcast does is it
pulls back the curtain on the world a professional wrestling,
So it was giving a real person kind of a
vibe about what's going on. It really is a good
podcast if you're one who dives into professional wrestling. Now,
(01:47):
Jeff Die and I have been together several different times
only because when he's on his comedy circuit, he would
come through Charlotte and that's where we spent time together Freddie.
He's a hardcore wrestling fan. His number one goal was
to break down the current state of the AE, the WWE,
and other independent leagues now. On March twenty ninth, twenty
twenty three, I was given the word, yes, the interview
(02:08):
will take place. It'll be seven minutes and take place
at one twenty four pm on Zoom Confirm. I said yes,
the talk would be on April twelfth, twenty twenty three,
and it didn't happen. The zoom link will still sent,
but there was never a conversation. Hey, coming up next,
I've still got the questions and we'll leave enough space
(02:30):
where they can enter their answers. Freddie Prince Junior and
comedian Jeff Die. Hey, thanks for coming back to Missed
Opportunity talking with Freddie Prince Junior and Jeff Dye. The
Missed Opportunity took place in twenty twenty two and then
once again in twenty twenty three. The podcast we're talking
about is Wrestling with Freddy. I was supposed to meet
(02:51):
with Freddy on season two and then we were going
to jump into season number three. Some of the questions
dealing with the WWE and the UFC for them to
teaming up like they have. What is your reaction as
not only the fan, but now the storyteller on a
podcast such as this, Every generation has pro wrestling stories
(03:12):
and it comes with passion. With a podcast such as
Wrestling with Freddie, do you find yourself being a fan
of the sport or a reporter of the action that's
taking place? And does it bend the wrestling fans' habits
and or love for the game when you come and
give us this new insight to professional wrestling? Were you
(03:33):
shocked when the AEW appeared on the scene. I mean
they came from out of nowhere and their popularity was instant.
As a fan of professional wrestling, where you pulled away
from another group, people are still talking about WrestleMania number
thirty nine when it's this big right now, How do
you think people are going to react when they find
(03:54):
WrestleMania thirty nine ten or fifteen years from now pulling
the curtain back wrestling? Has there ever been such a
move to transport a sport? Because when you pull back
and you identify what's really going on behind the scenes,
it's like looking at the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz,
Will you both star in a movie about wrestling one day?
(04:17):
Because it seems like that's what's happening. There's a lot
of movies that have come out about wrestlers. Will you
guys star in a movie about one? Not gonna lie here.
I'm a huge fan of Brett Hart, but a lot
of people, ah, they don't like him, and I think
it's because I grew up with Brett Heart when he
was up in Canada and then all of a sudden
he started appearing on the WWE. Do you how do
(04:39):
you feel about Brett Hart? All right, there you have it.
My missed opportunity with Freddie Prince Junior and comedian Jeff Dye.
Missed opportunity. It's a lost piece of history. You know
the questions? Now? Can we locate their reactions? The door
is always open. You can reach out to me ARROWC
