Speaker 1 (00:00):
Missed opportunity. I love sharing conversations. Hosting them requires a
lot of show prep. My podcast platforms feature thousands of guests.
What you don't have access to are my missed opportunities.
That's the show prep that was completed, but the conversation
didn't happen. I keep all of my notes, and the
reason why is because I believe paths will cross again.
(00:21):
Let me explain missed opportunity. It's my questions and statements
that I've held on too without their answers. I'm leaving
open enough space at the end of every question, hoping
they'll download the talk and insert their answers. Missed opportunity
is seen as a lost piece of history, like a
message in a bottle. It's been tossed out to see
(00:42):
I hope to locate a destination. This week, we're putting
focus on my missed opportunity with Barbara Brockley, the longtime
producer of the James Bond movies. Okay, longtime producers of
James Bond films, Barbara Brockley and Michael Wilson. Was Michael
part of this as well? Yeah, my notes are here.
(01:03):
He was going to be part of Wow. Both of
them in one place. What a beautiful blessing. In September
twenty twenty two, they brought their gifts of storytelling together
to celebrate sixty years of James Bond landing. The role
of James Bond is seen as one of the biggest
acting roles on the planet, yet Barbara and Michael still
have to pitch perspective actors on the part. A new
(01:27):
James Bond documentary was set to be released on Amazon Prime.
The sound of double O seven is what it was
called when it comes to James Bond. It's not the
melody but the attitude. Who said that? John Barry said
that the sounds of double oh seven take fans and
viewers of an unforgettable six decades of making the journey

of Sean Connery and Daniel Craig Now. The invitation to
share a conversation with Barbara Brockli and Michael Wilson arrived
on September twenty first, twenty two, three years ago. The
talk would take place eight days later. My name as
host on the list. All systems were go. Six days
(02:11):
into the excitement, we got word that Barbara and Michael
were unable to commit to the interview tour. We hope
to reschedule with them. We'll let you know. Coming up
next the questions, the statements. My Missed Opportunity with Barbara
Brockley and Michael Wilson. Hey, thanks for coming back to
(02:33):
Missed Opportunity this week. It's My Missed Opportunity with Barbara
Brockley and Michael Wilson. I love this. It's not just
about casting an actor, it's about reinvention. We're talking about
the James Bond movies. Daniel Craig brought on an emotional
James Bond the sixtieth anniversary of Mister Bond. Part of
(02:58):
the romance of all of this is the fact that
we still get to see James Bond in action. Fans
of Bond have had their interpretations of who they think
James really is in fitting into the New World. Would
be that kind of a James we'd want. Will there
ever be a James Bond streaming series, something that will
(03:21):
appear on Hulu or Netflix? Idra Elba says he didn't
see Bond while looking in the mirror. I love how
James Bond believes they can pick the next actor to
be Bond and the final question that is still unanswered.
(03:42):
Did Bean James Bond ever lead to these actors being
type cast? And there you have it, another missed opportunity,
a lost piece of history. You now know my questions,
so let's locate the reactions. The door is always going
to be open. If you are or no Barbara Brockley
or Michael Wilson, please reach out to me at erroc
