(00:23):
And we are now in the spooky season, all right,
this is my favorite term of year. Yes, and of
course the city of Atlanta is ready for all of
the action. I've got an insider with me today. I've
got the wonderful Shane. I'll be with me. Hey, Shane, Hello,
glad to be here. Thank you so much for joining us, Shane.
(00:46):
Are some of the biggest and best parties that are
happening for Halloween weekend and beyond, and we're gonna jump
into this. We're just gonna We're just gonna just go
ahead and just claw at it. And I want to
talk about some of those specific costume contests that are
going to be happening at Midtown Halloween block Party and
(01:08):
also the Great Midtown Scare block Party. Tell us about that.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Well, our first event is actually the weekend before, which
is Saturday until the twenty fifth. That is the Midtown
Halloween block Party.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
We've been doing that for.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Quite some time and we've got like thirty five bars
in the restaurants and clubs in the Midtown area. And
we're doing the costume contest at Polson Row, which is
at Colony Square.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
I don't know if you've ever been there.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. They get this food haul and
then they got this outdoor.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Area with the stay and so that actually will be
our first event and our first Halloween costing contest, and
that we give away five hundred bucks up for that one.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Okay, So I just you know, people like that that
money saying, you know, I think people are going to
be showing up and showing out.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
So yeah, I mean we get some great outfits. I
mean I'm shocked at the time people put into something
Delphits because I like to talk to him.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
It's like we're gonna get the idea for that. I'll
take you to make that outfit.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
It's like, you know, home really go all out, like.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
There's actually professional.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Like I guess you would call them costume.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
I mean, yeah, you're saying it.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Now, what about you, Shane or do you have some
some costumes in mind that maybe we can you know,
we'll be looking out for to see if you're going
to be in this year.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Oh I'm I'm I'm boring.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
I'm like doctor boom.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Shot a doctor's Dolphine joy shot. That's lazy easy because.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Oh my gosh. So beyond beyond the different locations, you know,
what is the core difference in the atmosphere by you know,
Halloween in the high Lands compared to the Buckhead creepy
crawl scene.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Right, Well, the Highlands and the Buckhead tend to see
maybe a younger demo just because I don't know, you know,
post college kids kind of hang out there.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
In those two areas. Midtown is more of.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
An older crowd and more diverse. And I mean, which
is it's my favorite area of to do events because
it's we have so many different types of establishments, you know, bars, clubs,
restaurants and uh so that's the Midtown events are the
ones who we get you know, the largest turnout. So
(03:47):
but in plus, in Midtown we have so many more
establishments versus you know, the Highlands of Buckhead well maybe
have like ten plus bars and participating in the one
of Midtown's it's over thirty you know, padding in all
the food all.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah, wow, that is that is a lot. And as
we're going into those numbers, you guys always sell out,
So these events, this is going to absolutely sell out
as it does every single year. What are you looking so, yeah,
like you guys are going to sell out. Everything is
going to be just like so many people are going
(04:25):
to be in the city at that time. What are
the capacities that these venues can actually support, Like, do
you guys have like a set number? Is the you know,
the marsh are going to come through and shut down
stuff if it's too many people.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
We haven't had that happen yet.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
In the Virginia Highlands.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
We do cut it all from a certain.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Point because there's always so many bars in the Virginia Highlands.
But we actually have a big forty by forty ten
that we put in the parking lot at Neighbors Pub.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
In Virginia Highlands, so that wholes five six hundred people.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
And then you know, Bucket Place has got.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
A lot of patios and stuff, and then of course Midtown.
You know, there's so many establishments that we typically you know, okay,
the capacity issue but we you know, the high on
to one, we typically sell out first on that one
and then Buckhead tends to be okay, and Midtown it's
(05:26):
just you know, it'll can sell out like right before
the night of the event. Yeah, because we don't want
to oversell it because it just takes away from the
whole event and then experience and people.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
You know, we don't I don't want to upset people.
I want people to have a you know, a great
time and.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Have a fun time because you know, and the cool
thing about our event, you know, obviously we do the
costume conduct and you were asking me about about them,
you know on Halloween night.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
You know, we're doing three events and once a buck At,
once in the Virginia Highlands and then.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Another one in Midtown.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
And all three of those events have constant contest as well.
So we're doing five hundred for each of the parties
and the one actually.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Bucket it's seven hundred and fifty for the winner.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
And you guys heard it here first there's some big
money on the table, so we'll see us coming out
to show out and collect that pat Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Well, you know, there's funny thing is so for the contest,
what we do is when people check in, we give
them laminates for.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
All the great now things.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
And and like I said, there's really some incredible health
these people put together. But when we award the prizes,
you sometimes it's an individual, sometimes it's a group. I mean,
I've had the rememberhere the Avengers were big, you know,
when the second or third had a whole group like
eight them or just all their adventures they wanted one
(07:03):
year and then one year was I can't even remember
what movie was, you know, they'll dresses like the movie characters.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
I think it was Lily might have been like a
Lily Walker thing.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Oh wow.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
But so sometimes it's a group of wins.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
They're not just a single individual.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
But so we awarded prizes to whatever the.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Best outfits are.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Yeah. Now, what differences can people expect in the atmosphere music,
bar deco at the Atlanta Day of the Dead pub
crawl compared to a traditional Halloween themed event.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Right right?
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Well, Midtown, Like I said, Midtown events kind of be
more you know clubs. Uh so there are a lot
of them have DJs inside, whereas the Highlands and the
Buck had ones.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
The more bars, you know, and so they'll have.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
You know, they'll have the DJ maybe, but they're more bars.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
The Midtown has the clubs. And then our new event
that you mentioned, the Day of the.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Dad, which is on November first. It's kind of our
Latin event. We've never done that before, but we know
there's a huge you know population that was going to
come to that. You know, I've seen in the past
the people doing the outfits you know, light the day
of the day on Halloween. I'm like, wow, those are
some great outfit space painting and stuff, and uh so
(08:24):
we created that so that'll be more of a Latin
club Latin you know demo on that night.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Which is November first.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
But again, like I said, the Midtown ones tend to
be more night clubish and you know a lot of DJs,
whereas the other two areas are kind of more you know,
bar oriented, and but they're talking.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
For everyone and you know, you can pick whatever you're into.
You know, we've got it.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yes, definitely. Now, given that all the parties utilize a
registration location, how many participating bars and clubs are included
in their admission wristband ticket? You know, what do you
what do you get with a with a wristband with
a registration.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
So in Midtown, like I said, we've got like.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Over thirty five bars in restaurant participating. But typically on
each of the events, it's like four to five comp shot,
so they're at right there. It kind of almost covers
your ticket price. So you check in, you get a
comp shot, h and then we'll have three or four
other places you go to you'll get a cop shot.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
And then obviously we we do a.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Wristband like a ten tab risk band, so you tear
off the wristband tab and you repeem it for whatever
comp shot.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Drink special.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Respect the bars, but we also do the drink specialists.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
We call it five four to three. Some of the
places we've gone up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I mean when we originally did this, it was a
lot cheaper, but it's like a five dollars contail or
four dollars or a three dollars shot, So you tear
off a wristband tab and you can get one of those.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
So most places kind of do that.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Some of them might be a little bit higher, but
for the most part, you know, you get some pretty
good drink prices.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Gotcha, gotcha, And both the Buckhead Creepy Crawl and the
Great Midtown Scare block party take place on Friday, October
the thirty first. Well, we have.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Three three night We have the Highlands which is Halloween.
The Highlands, we have the Creepy Crawl Buckhead, and then
we have the Great Midtown Scare at Midtown were free
that night and.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
The buck End.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
The Highlands one is about ten plus bars and clubs.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
And we're still to the day of the event.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
We're still trying to you know, add on places and
that kind of nature. And then of course, like I said,
the Midtown one has you know, thirty if you throw
thirty plus if you throw in the food all establishments,
which is some really good food over there paulics grow.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Oh yeah, that's one of my favorites. I can have
to be found there on many a weekends.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Out there. Now where can people go, Shane if they
want to get some more information or they want to
go ahead and book those tickets for them and their crew.
They got the costumes ready and they need to get
those tickets.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
So for the events and Big Town until we're twenty fifth,
and then the two events on Halloween and Buckett and
Virginia Highlands, they just go to atlantapar tours dot com
and yeah, it's Atlanta Bar Tours dot com.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
We've been doing this for quite some time.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
And then the other events, which are two kind of
our new.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Events we kind of did under a new marketing program
USA Bar called USA Entertainment.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
It's the USA ENP dot com.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
But the company we had a while back and during
COVID we kind of tightened things up because a lot
of things were shut down. We didn't do anything for
about eighteen months, just kind of relaunched that this year
and started doing some other events under that brand.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Cool. So, Jane, I definitely want to say thank you
so much for coming through. We certainly appreciate you giving
all this exclusive insight all these amazing parties that are
going on this year, and I know that you guys
are going to be doing more stuff, so you got
to come back and share with us. We're just putting
it out there.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
I mean, we do Marti Grawl, we do.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Say Contracts Day. Those are kind of our two big.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
The next set of the events, you know, where we
kind of focus around the fun holiday time period, but
we'll be launching those like any day now kind of
for next year.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Sounds like the plan. Well, we'll be here for it,
so you guys can definitely count on us getting all
that insight and sharing with you guys so you can
be prepared and get your tickets and get all your
fixings and get all your friends together together in our
wonderful city of Atlanta. So I appreciate each and every
one of you, guys, Thank you so much for your
(13:06):
love and support. Keeping in mind. Anyone to tell you
that you can't do what you want to do, you
look them square in the face, you tell them, don't
believe me. Just watch watch what I do. Watch me
make it happen, Watch me make history. That's what we're
doing this for the history books. Social media is nice,
but real life is so much better. Until next time,
you guys,
