Speaker 2 (00:15):
The views and opinions expressed on this program do not
necessarily reflect the views and opinions of five ADWCHS it's
employees or WVRC Media.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Twenty two minutes past eight o'clock.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Very pleasant, good morning to you, Happy Friday to Charleston
in the Canall Valley. I'm del Cooper in the WCHS studio.
This is where we typically have asked the expert. We
do have an expert of sorts and studio with us
this morning, like the welcome end of the studio for
his semi regular adventures on the airwaves. Here it's Ron Hughes,
one of our account executives from the sales department. Are
(00:52):
you a senior account executive? I mean by title, yeah,
by title and by age. I was not going to
go there because everybody, because everybody was giving I wasn't
trying to go there. I just wanted to make sure
Ron's been here, one of our more senior sales representatives.
And I'm not here necessarily to sell you airtime this morning,
although if you have questions from more than welcome.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
To call about that. We're here to talk about WD bargains.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
If you've been a listener to this station for a
long time, this was something that actually started. It's gone
through different incarnations Turtle Bids that was previously called, but
this thing's been going on forever. And Ron, you told
me right before we went on the air, by the way,
good morning, thanks for the mid morning. You told me
before we went on the air that we're under an
anniversary on this one.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
But yeah, forty years ago, this summer nineteen eighty five,
Paul Howard hired a consultant to do something different and
unusual and never done before, and it was a radio
auction called Action Auction. And the premise then as now
as we went to businesses and look for merchandise that
(01:50):
maybe they had extra of or they just weren't moving
it as fast as they wanted, and we would take
it and put it on our auction and sell it
to our listeners as a kind of a promotion to
help them out and get a bargain. Hence we call
it now WV Bargains West Virginia. You know, it's like
(02:11):
WVRC Media and our Bargains, So WV Bargains on the
Internet gives you a chance to buy things at a
ridiculously low rate on a silent auction. Now, when I
first started, there were no computers in every home, and
not a whole lot of businesses had them. And in fact,
I think all four Beatles were still alive back then,
(02:31):
or at least when I started in radio. By the
time we did this forty years ago nineteen eighty five,
we still had to do it live like a call
in auction, so we had a real auctioneer. We would
tell people month in advance all the items we had
and where they were. The listeners would have to go
to the stores to look at these items, and then
(02:53):
on one magic Day, which was on a Saturday, all
day we took phone calls and auctioned these items off
off one at a time, hoping people remembered to go
look at the items, and they did. We had tons
of calls. We sold every item we had at that point,
so it just kind of took off, so it's evolved
over the years. We have a different consultant. We do
(03:16):
it online using a silent auction, so you can get
a bargain starting at sixty percent off on things you
might use at any one time, you know, throughout your
lifetime or every year, and get it at a really
good price.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Yeah, there's a few points to be made about the
process of this, and then we want to get into
some of the offerings are here. The interesting thing is
is that I think every one of these this is
a statewide thing because WRC Media is a statewide company,
so this ultimately is a state wee thing. Although you
can look by regions, so if you want to look
at and support Charleston businesses or whatever, you can do that.
But the important thing about this is that these are
all local businesses, so we're not contracting anything. And the
(03:53):
reason I bring that up, if you're on social media
at all anymore, I'm sure you probably are. You've probably
seen the same thing I am. Almost every or are
so many of the ads that you get anymore for
like things that are being drop shipped, and you may
not know what drop shipping as or know what it is,
but when you see the little gadget. There's like a
thirty second video of that's coming up in your social
media feeds, like, oh, look at this neat thing that
you can do when you fold it over and you're
running under the scenk and it does all these things.
(04:13):
It's like, wow, what that is is it's a company
that's paying for the advertisement.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
You're buying it.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
They're sending it what's called a drop ship company that
offers these products to anybody and they can brand it
however they want to. And then you're sending it off
to another country and they're sending it to your back here.
The product may or may not work. Who knows, you know,
it's not there the ad on Twitter or whatever you're
looking at as a pass through. These people have no
idea what it is that you're buying. It's a drop shipment.
It's a sterile kind of rolling the dice kind of
(04:39):
environment because you're getting something for a good value. Here,
you get something for a good value, and you're buying
completely local from people. You're not sending money across the world.
You're not getting it from another country, I mean at
least not from the product itself. These are all local
businesses that do business with our radio stations. So I
mean it's a huge difference from this stuff that you
see online the stage.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
This is a legitimate auction with legitimate local businesses that
have been you know, some of them are fairly new businesses.
Some of them have been around I don't know, sixty
seventy eighty years. Gravely tractor and lawn equipment, you know,
they started in Dunbar, I think over one hundred years ago.
And other businesses that have that have been around a
(05:19):
while that like running boards and more in spring Hill,
you know, fairly newer business you know. And of course
now we have tattoos and you know, stuff that didn't exist.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
And it's just a few couple of things that you've
talked about here. With regards of what your lifestyle is.
This isn't something you could go to and you're going
to search for something very specific, like you're looking for
a widget for your kitchen that you know, maybe it's
on here, but probably not for something highly specific, right,
but for things that are useful that you're looking for
from day to day lifestyle thing. Anything from like you
talked about a tattoos sleeve. There there's we always have
(05:52):
the the education for long haul trucking and council and
they're from doing County. I mean those are think of
how diverse those who things are, you know, I mean
those are two completely different ends of the spectrums. You're
talking about running boards. We have motorcycles, we have much stoves,
electric cars, wood stoves.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
There's memberships like to try County YMCA and tays Valley.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Think about how valuable.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
I mean, again, this is one of those things you're
likely to stumble across instead of coming across something that
you see that's need on social media. It's like, oh
maybe I could use that. This is more likely that
you're going to come across something saying oh that's something
that I could really use. Now, you know it's it's
it's kind of a subtle difference. But taking a look
at the when you go to the site, I want
to give you some basic constructions on how this thing
works and we can talk about the products. You go
(06:34):
to WV bargains dot com. That'll take you over to
the site. There's a nice little layout on all of
the different regions that we have, so you can take
a look at the regions. You can also look at
the broad categories and and and when you see the categories,
it's really worthwhile to look through those because you know
there's only so many categories, and so sometimes you have
to put things in the best place that they fit.
So just look through all of those. We have featured items,
(06:54):
and a lot of those featured items, those will be
rotating in and out up there, but we're going to
be really highlighting stuff that are for exceptional disc something
that's that's really standing out right now.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
And something may be a great too too.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
Something may be a great discount, but you might have
to drive to Beckley to get it. Yeah, right, right right,
exactly sixty percent off. I think I might drive to
Clarksburg or someplace like Morgantown.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
There's an electric motorcycle in here as one of our
featured auction items right now. That's a twenty twenty four
Kawasaki Z seven hybrid and that thing retails for about
twelve five twelve five right right now, the starting bid
is five to six six hundred dollars. If you're in
the market for a motorcycle, that is a really big deal.
(07:36):
That's that I mean, it's sixty percent off, but I
mean sixty percent off of twelve five hundred dollars is
a big chunk of money that you're getting off.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
Absolutely absolutely. Also, if you look at our featured items,
and you can look along with us if you want
to go to even you could even go use the
old name which everybody, a lot of people knew it
as Turtle Bids if you haven't done it lately, it's
now wb bargains dot com. But there's an electric coup
from nas and it looks like a smart car should
(08:05):
go for ninety nine hundred dollars, but you can get
it for like thirty nine to seventy.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
And it's a four thousand dollars car. You know.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Larry Dawson is on here every Wednesday. And one of
the things we've lamented over the years is the fact
that the affordable car is out the window, like the
the the gently used affordable car has been out the window. Well,
here's a brand new.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Car twenty twenty four for four grand, right, I mean
that's or less than four cars. It's got alloy wheels,
reverse camera, it's a thirty mile range. I mean it's
it's a little bigger than a golf car.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yeah, I mean it's small but it's covered and if
you're just looking for mallage around town, it's perfect for
something along those lines.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
It's absolutely perfect. But you can go and look at
Charleston items only if you really don't think you want
to buy something and then drive to go get it,
or you can look at the items by like like
Coop said, by category. You know, there's like home and
garden and so forth, automotive related entertainment. But I mean,
I think that sewing machine is is a pretty neat
(09:07):
deal there.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Yeah, yeah, I was going to say, you know, when
you again, you may not always think about like if
you're somebody that sews, or knows that somebody that sews,
it may not even be something that you think about
all the time. All I wonder if it's a bargain
on a sewing machine somewhere, you know, because it's not
something we think about all the time anymore. But when
you come here, there's a Brother sewing machine. It's a
it's a modern version of one. I can't really tell.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
It's all over brand.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Yeah, it's a Brother brand. It's a modern version computerized exactly.
Whatever that means. You probably have an app. Maybe it
does it for you who knows what it probably has.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
It has programs, I'm sure, like memory of stitches and
so forth.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Like I wonder if you could program in like patterns
and stuff. Anyway, you can figure that stuff out in yourself.
It's seven hundred dollars that retails for and it's two
hundred and eighty dollars right now at the starting bid.
Absolutely these things and something that kind of caught my
attention too, because again in uh, whenever you're looking for things,
I just bought a new vacuum a couple months ago,
and I was looking around at different things and different
(09:57):
reviews and stuff like that. And if you want to
get a real value and not just something that costs,
you know, eighty bucks at the department store that will
maybe last for a year or so, and maybe get
that dog hair and the corners and stuff like that.
You can get anything. But if you're one to invest
in something that's going to help with allergies and really
get up the dust and really get the places you
have to invest a little bit of money. There's a
simplicity allergy upright vacuum that's on here now. It's a
(10:18):
four hundred dollars retail value. You can get it for
more of the modest department store price of one hundred
and sixty bucks. That's more like a modest vacuum instead
of something that's that's elite.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
That's a better sale than you you get at any
department store when they put things on sale. Now, we're
kind of tantalizing you at this point, and I apologize,
but you can't start to bid on these things until June. Second,
that's right, So next, this is a preview a week
from this coming Tuesday, or this is coming Monday.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I'm sorry, a week from Monday, right right, you.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Can start bidding on that, but it doesn't hurt to
look and kind of get an idea of what you
want to take a look.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
At and if and if from the folks that we've
when we've talked in the past. One of the most
popular things, and this is the one that I've gotten
the most myself, that I've paid money for, and that's
Eddie Tires and Service. They offer a five hundred dollars
retail certificate that you can start off about getting at
two hundred dollars. You often get these great deals and
if you're somebody that needs new set of tires, get
(11:11):
your oil change, inspection, all those things that you can
get done once a year. You can because Eddie's Tires
always does this. You can buy your certificates through here,
get everything you need and taken over there at an
incredible discount. They do great they do great work. That's
where I get my new tires, the alignments that I
need and and my inspections and stuff. And usually it's
after I have body because that's the one thing does
it's such a great deal. I get these every year.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
Well, I hope we're not competing against each other because
I remember I've bought one in the past, the.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Guy that drives it up a little bit. There's a
lot of them.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
There's a bunch of them on here. You can go
back and and somebody started to bed on one. You
can go to another one and start.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
A bid exactly. But they're great, they're great deals. And
that's just one of the things that's like a convenience
thing that helps you out with that. And then I
almost got this from my wife last year. But there's
like even full car tents and my wife's huge on
car tens. Her car right now doesn't have one. And
I held off last year but I think I might
get it for this year and get it for her
birthday because that's a nice thing as well.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
This is professional tinting right here. I mean, it's one
hundred and fifty dollars value, and you could get it
for as little as what sixty dollars if you you know,
if you get there early. And there's a couple of
those two. But that is something that we've had for
years with this auction, and it does. It sells out
(12:27):
every time. It's from the tent guy in Nitro exactly. Yeah,
I mean, it's just something that we always have.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
It's something that we always have one here and they
are extraordinarily popular at all given times. By the way,
if you have any questions, or maybe you've bought something
in the past on turtle bids or WV bargains and
you want to talk about you're welcome to give as
a call this morning if you want three zero four,
three four five fifty eight fifty eight, or if you
have any questions about this. We're just kind of talking
about the different things that go along, different things you
can find. We were talking about the history of it
and sort of the process of how it works, and
(12:53):
I kind of laid out my lamentations against all of
these ads that we see anymore, for all this junk
that gets pushed into your social media, that are these
drop shift items from other countries that are just oftentimes
just junk items. Even if you get them for a
pretty decent price, you fall for the easy video and
you might be thinking, well, okay, you explain to us
what this thing is. But at sixty percent off, there
(13:14):
has to be a catch somewhere, And all I have
to tell you is, don't you worry about it.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
The catch is between us and the folks.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
Okay, yeah, I'll admit it. We're taking the loss on it. Yeah,
I mean we are taking the loss because it's a
valuable promotion. We want to engage with our listeners, We
want our business partners to engage with you, the listener,
and we want to make it fun. And any kind
of business promotion is going to cost us money. I mean,
that's just the nature.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
We're giving one of our more valuable things to a
client in exchange for these goods that we can then
turn around and offer at a bargain, and they can
offer it a bargain for our listeners, So we pay
for that premium, not you. And that's not a if
there's not a any hidden fees in there, that's just
the truth. We do this to put on the promotion
and we eat that cost basically to give you the
(13:58):
the the discount on it so you don't wait for
the other shoot to drop. You're not going to get
a twenty percent increase somewhere. You're not going to see
a processing fee for three hundred dollars. It's going to
make good on what the actual retail of the value
of the thing is going to be. None of that stuff.
This is legit.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
I think with some of the taxes involved on the vehicles.
Buying a car, you would expect.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
That the normal stuff is worth that goes.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
You know, that's something we can't avoid because of the government.
But I will let you know. There are some new
things that have never been in here before.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
What are they. I haven't looked at the entire site yet.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
From running boards and more they have running boards, obviously,
Tanno covers, bedliners. I have about twenty five thousand dollars
worth of stuff that are in that category of running boards,
factory style running boards for Silverado's for f one to
fifties for Rams. I've got Nerf bars for Ford Rangers
(14:48):
from Rams. You just can't believe the huge amount of stuff.
Twenty five thousand dollars worth of accessories for a truck.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Wow, there's about that.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
There's a lot of stuff. There are pages on pages stuff.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Now with girlfriends, wives out there. I don't want to
tell you what to do, but if you're thinking about
something for Father's Day or for Christmas, and you're well,
somebody likes to buy early, think about all the things
you could get your your loved one to trick out
or men who have women that love trucks. I mean,
it doesn't matter to me, but just think about all
of the things that you could get, the accessories that
maybe you couldn't get it to time for the deluxe package,
(15:22):
or things that you've seen your brother have on his
truck that you want to have. I mean, this is
your opportunity to really kind of trick out your your
your ride.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
If you're right.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
And some of these, you know, are eight hundred dollars
six hundred dollars a piece, you're getting them at sixty
percent off starting out, So.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
Just imagine being able to give that to your to
your truck lov and significant other if they're looking to
elevate their truck games just a little bit, because I
mean in this area everybody has their truck. You know,
there's a bit of a there's always useful things, not
only just decord of things, but useful things that you
can do to upgrade your upgrade your trucks and.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Things like that.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
Now swinging around one hundred and eighty degrees, there's jewelry
coming from again from a repeat participant, Pettit Jewelers up
in Jewelry up in South Hills. They have a two
hundred and fifty dollars gift certificate for any item in
the store. They also have a five hundred dollars gift
certificate for any item in the store that includes you know, rings, bracelets, necklaces,
(16:21):
diamonds and so forth. So I was going to say,
and we have a new participant, Thomas Jewelers over in
Kano City. That's oh yeah, McCormick Jewelers. Yeah, nighbers to you.
But they have a couple of pieces. They have a
diamond pendant and some diamond ear rings. So I think
the diamond pendant usually goes for a thousand, So you're
(16:44):
going to be able to get that at sixty percent off.
And same thing with the with the ear rings. I
think they're about five hundred, so you get those at
sixty starting at sixty percent off.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
So if we were talking to maybe the ladies a
few minutes ago and their men that love trucks men
or ladies that have men in their lives that love
diamond or however that situation works. You know, they tell
the guys that wear diamond nice rings or something, or
maybe they have that state championship ring they need that
needs to be resized now like maybe you know they
like telling stories down every Saturday night at at karaoke
(17:13):
and they need to have that state championship ring resized.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
You know, whatever you need to do there.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
But in all honesty, if you're looking to get a
a nice piece of jewelry for for your loved one,
and maybe you've you've had a little barriers. It's tough times,
you had a little bit of barriers, or maybe you're
saving up for that engagement ring. When we're talking about
getting gift certificates for for any item where you can
just get uh for wes, same as clash. If you've
been saving up and you're doing the thing like the
three months, maybe you just shave a month off that salary.
(17:38):
You know, if you can get it for sixty percent off,
you can you can pop the question a little earlier,
you know.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
Well with with Pettitt, it is a certificate to pick
your own thing now at Thomas Jewelers. That's these specific
These are specific pieces and they will be up. They
will be up. You can see them when they're ready.
I don't think they're up yet, but they are. I've
seen them. They're they're beautiful. So if you have a
mostly ladies, I think we by the pendent. You know,
so we have a lady that would like to have
(18:03):
a piece of jewelry that kind of makes you look
good for having bought it. You know, this might be right,
and nobody knows it has to know you got it
at such a such a wild discount.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah, you can tell.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
You can tell your closest friends that you got at
it for a while discount.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
But the people you want to brag exactly.
Speaker 5 (18:20):
But if you want to have other people that you
want to impress, like, hey, here's what I can do, right,
look off frugal iron. Now there's all as usual, there's
a lot of swimming items, you know. I think we
have the wave pool in here every year from down
in Tays Valley and Hurricane, and there's also City of
Saint Albans City Pool as season passes as well. So
(18:44):
if if you want to be fit, there are opportunities
here to be fit for for pools, for the y
M c A and Tays Valley, for gym memberships. But
there's also something we've never done before. I don't think
we've done it forever and forever. Maybe we did it
ten or twenty years ago, but we have dance classes
for kids or adults. But you know how dance classes
(19:06):
usually start in the fall, they go through the spring
and they have a recital. We have one like that
from Saint Alban's Studio of Dance. Never done one like
that before. It's a one year class for dance. Choose
from ballet, tap, jazz, modern lyrical. They have technique classes
adult tap. This is an award winning studio and if
(19:26):
you ever watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, this is
the one that's on TV every year from Saint Alban's.
They always go to Macy's Thanksgivings Day Parade. They're repeat
national champions. So you know, one of these classes, you know,
with all the activities that I mentioned, usually it's about
fifteen hundred dollars, you're going to be able to get
(19:46):
that class for your student or yourself for about sixty percent.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Off man every one of these.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
And I'm thinking, I have a young daughter and this
is something that we're looking to get her into as
far as dance for gymnational she has to choose. But again,
sometimes the cost is a barrier for these things. You know,
when you have an up, up and coming family, be
able to get something for significantly under discount, Yeah, exactly
is that's a huge difference. So it makes a huge
difference to moms and dad that are trying to get
stuff like this.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Done, right.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
I mean, it's it's one we've never done before. But
I know that's there's a lot of dance studios around town.
I noticed, you know, all their parking lots seems to
be full. That is something that people do a lot of,
you know, with with kids, and it gives them something
to do but also improves their you know, their hand
eye coordination, the fitness and so forth, and their and
their self confidence.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Yeah, that's absolutely very true.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
You're listening to Ask the Expert this morning, having a
special special show this morning giving you a preview of
WV Bargains, which is going to be going live a
week from Memorial Day, a week from Monday, so we're
still ten days or so away. This is a little
bit of a teaser show, but we're just trying to
give you an idea of what to expect on WV Bargains.
You have a week to make the bids once once
it goes live on on Monday the second, and is
(20:57):
that we have Monday the second, and then at Friday,
five o'clock of that week is when the bids will close.
And so you have that week to kind of keep
my eye on things. And when you sign up for
your account and make bids, I think you can choose
to be notified if somebody outbids you and stuff like that,
so you can go by and take a look at
it and see if you want to continue the bidding
on it. But that's something that it's going to go
live on the second. You can go and create an
account now, so if you wanted to, you can go
(21:18):
to WV turtle Bids dot com or I'm sorry WV
barheads dot com and you can go ahead and create
an account to get ready, so then when we go
live on the second, you'll be ready to bid and
set things up and take a look at everything we have.
I encourage you to go take a look at least
at the things that are over there right now, because
there's a lot of different things that you might want
to keep your eye on, either for yourself, you give

It is Friday here in the any of Charleston, in
the state of West Virginia and the country of the

(25:04):
ADWHS this morning. I'm del Cooper. Ron Hughes is in
studio with me this morning. Sales executive extraordinary here at
the radio station, and Ron's been out hustling, hitting the streets.
We've he's been helping to populate our WV Bargain site,
which is going to go live on the second, a
week from Monday, and we have tons and tons and
tons hundreds of great bargains on here from.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Throughout the state.
Speaker 4 (25:26):
We've been highlighting a little bit of some of our
Charleston clients and some of the great things that they'll
be giving away, anything from tattoo sleeves to car tents
to well, we didn't talk about some of the household
items that will be in there, but one of the
things that's in here that I think it's pretty interesting anyway,
is there's a wood stove. Now, I had somebody in
my family just a couple of years ago that was
in the market to get.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
A new wood stove.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
And it's not that it's difficult to shop for anything
like that, but it's one of those things, like anything,
until you start shopping, you don't know just how somewhat
complicated and nuanced all of the options and things along
those lines are, nor the price of these things. It's
a brand new wood stove. You could look in the
range of three to five thousand dollars for these things,
they're pretty expensive.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
Yeah, there are several price points with that. Wood stoves
and gas stoves, so what you've seen so far, and
we usually have stoves every time. But there's a Meridian
Platinum thirty six inch fireplace by Majestic which has a
top and rear direct vent. It's like forty eight hundred dollars,
so you're going to save several thousand. Find that on
(26:28):
the auction. There's also like simple gas log sets twenty
four inch gas or natural gas or propane. You know,
it's got an electronic ignition pilot, so it's yeah, it
warms and it's for show, but starts out at two thousand.
You can get it for sixty percent off.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Yeah, And when you think about something like that, if
you're remodeling a portion of your house, or if you're
replacing a stove or something like this, sometimes timing is everything,
you know. I mean, maybe this time three months ago
you weren't looking for a wood stove. Maybe in three
months from now, you're not looking for woodto but you're
redoing the part of your house that needs one now.
Man Providence sometimes plays King you know, I mean, this
is a great opportunity to maybe get that piece that
(27:08):
you need at a discount and save a little bit
off your budget for rebodel.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Absolutely, I mean, if you could get sixty percent off
a forty eight hundred dollars fireplace or Pacific Energy super
wood stove, that's attractive. Yeah, you're looking at that one
on the screen. You know it's pedestal with a black
door and it's got extended burn technology baffle system twenty
nine hundred and fifty eight dollars. So you're going to
(27:33):
get that for let's see three, you know, quite a
bit off. Sixty percent off I think would get it
for you for three six nine twelve hundred dollars. Yeah,
right around that three three thousand dollars stove for about
twelve hundred bucks.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Yeah, it's there are great deals that with any sort
of walk in your life, you can find things that
are in here. And I know that it's a little
bit scattershot. We're trying to give you ideas of all
the different things that are in here. Another thing I
just wanted because I just now and I want to
give them a shout out. My friends over at Elk
City at the auto detailing place. That's where I take mine.
Every single time I've had in my car detailed over there,
(28:10):
I think three times in the last three years. I've
taken one a year just and frankly, they do such
a good job. As long as you're not a slob,
that's really all you need. I take it in once
a year. I get a pristine as close to new
as possible. Then I take care of my car over
the next year, and my car always looks pretty nice. Frankly,
they do a great job, man. They get all the
little you know, they'll they'll loosen up your seats and
(28:30):
raise them up a little bit. If they need to
get underneath there. They make sure to get the roof,
you know. That's something that a lot of places miss,
is cleaning the top part of your lining. They make
sure to get that. If you need to put some
biochemical stuff in there to get rid of some dog
smell or smoke smell or something, they can help you.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
With that as well. They do just such a great
job over there.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
That's kind of place you take your car too when
you want the Q tip treatment, where they get you know,
if it's a tight spot that you still see dirt
in there.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
They'll take it literally, those little places like on your
console where you shift gears or something a little they
get the little area in there the perfect place to
take your vehicle. Frankly, if you're looking to resell it
to like you, if you're putting it on the market,
either you're on a trade it in or you're trying
to sell it for cash or something for for not
even at retail costs, it's not that big of an investment,
but at the cost that you can get it for
on WV bargains where you know this saying the deluxe
(29:17):
deal is is a few hundred dollars cost you can
get it for two hundred dollars. Invest that in your
car before you sell it, and then when somebody comes
to take a look at your car, or you take
it in for a trade in, it's going to look
at its most pristine level when you do that.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
And this he does a great, great job. I've known
him for several years. Something that a lot of people do.
I know with my grandkids, they have these inflatable party
rentals sometimes at their house, and you know the bounty
houses and you know the slides and things like that.
That are inflatable. Quantum Party Rentals has a five hundred
(29:51):
dollars gift certificate. I've seen my kids spend close to
that paying for full price for party rentals, So you
can get that for a little was two hundred dollars
in the auction. Now we don't have I have to
give you a caveat here. We don't have everything up
yet that you can preview. But by the end of
next week you will be able to see everything and
preview it.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
And again, I just I didn't even see this one
here before, but there's there's an I wave air ionization system.
I was looking at what this thing was because I
had suspicion, and indeed, this is one of those air
purification systems you put in your ducks. I've done shows
on this before with folks that did heating and cooling
and duct.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Working and stuff. So this is a inside the dust.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Yeah, So you put this ionization system in your ducks
as your air is being pushed throughout your home. This
actually helps remove particles from your air and really gives
you that ionization air, you know, the very clean air
from allergens and stuff. This thing's gonna sell right now.
I knew that this was like one thousand dollars upgrade
to your HVAC system. That thing at sixty percent off
is under four hundred dollars. I mean, that thing is
(30:52):
awesome for folks that suffers from allergies and stuff like that.
I've done shows on that before, so that just something
random that you run across on there. I got kind
of excited when I said, is that really one of
those things.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
That kind of takes some pressure off of your air
filter too exactly?
Speaker 4 (31:05):
And it helps and all those things that are you know,
our our air filters get down to a certain you know,
micrometer or whatever it is of the filterization that this
this picks up the other end of that. You know,
it uses the the ionization and I think it creates
a positive particles anyway. The way that it cleans the
air is pretty is pretty interesting. There's just so many
things on here for us to talk about. It's pretty
(31:26):
amazing when you can.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
I'm trying to highlight a few things we've never done before.
There's a fifteen hundred dollars certificate for for like custom
T shirts for like your team or for your company
or your church organization. Fifteen hundred dollars gift certificate to
Curry Creations in Saint Albans. You could do T shirts,
you could do polos, you do hoodies with you know,
(31:49):
with different designs on it, and they take care of it.
And this is like fifteen hundred dollars will get you
quite a few outfits. You know, if you if you're
a company and need uniforms for your for your employees,
or you need T shirts for your team this summer,
it's a perfect place to go.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
My wife's family used to have T shirts made on vacations,
so they would have like their family vacation T shirts
that they would take out. Anything along those lines would
certainly be useful for things like that, And you're right,
we've never had that before, but that that would be
extraordinarily useful for like a youth youth team or something
like that that needs to get some uniforms done or
something along those lines.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
That would be extraordinarily useful for them.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
And I see a lot of businesses have their own
their own polos with the this is a perfect opportunity to.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
As a matter of fact, do that as well.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
I think we do that also, something we usually have
and we will again as a generator, a generat portable
generator from Xpect Power in l Few. So this is
this is a nice piece. It is an ac rated
output of sixty five hundred watts. It's got some special
lubrication for it to automatically and automatically safeguards them engine
(33:00):
from damage. So it's got a low oil level shut down.
It's got an hour meter that tracks your maintenance intervals,
you know, when it needs maintained things you don't even
think about, you know, it kind of takes care of
it for you. It's also electric start. That one retails
at nine point forty you know, obviously you're going to
get it for a lot less than that sixty percent
(33:21):
off at least.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
The just incredible deals going all the way down through here.
There's also a vacations and getaway segment. Again these aren't
fully fully populated yet, but just looking in here one
of the great staycation things that we do here in
the state of West Virginia, especially during the spring and summer,
oh anytime during the year. But we like our outdoor sports,
we like going on water and things like that. And
there are some packages for cabins at Lake Stevens and
(33:44):
other places that you can go on. And again, now
we're talking about stuff that might cost a few hundred dollars,
that might make it a little bit of a barrier
to get through. But if you get it for much
less than that, and you're planning a family vacation or
a family reunion or anything along those lines, that really helps,
especially for in one of those situations were you split
it among family members or something like that. Suddenly if
you're splitting something that was six hundred dollars and everybody
(34:05):
needed to bring a couple hundred dollars, and suddenly you
get that down to much less than that. I mean,
you can find a good bargain on here. Again, you
got to check it out. Yeah, exactly on the water
last at Lake Stevens. That's what's when they're now I
have a feeling we're gonna have more of these packages that.
Speaker 5 (34:19):
We usually do, or you can check some of the
other cities for packages of vacations, because if you're going
to let's say somewhere in the northern part of the state,
you look at our Morgantown station items or maybe something
there that you're obviously going to go to. We also
have I think we might have mentioned it, but last
year was first time we've had tattoos. This year we
(34:40):
have two different sets of tattoos from two different vendors
on opposite ends of the valley. So you can kind
of pick your design. You got to you gotta credit.
You know, you're basically buying a certificate to pick your
design for a tattoo with those ones that Paraduncle's tattoo
in Marmette, the other ones and all the other end
of the county at Venompit Tattoo in Old Main Plaza,
(35:03):
Saint albans as a.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
This is a little bit out of area, but just
to give you an idea of the wide variety of
things that you might find on here. I have a
young daughter is who's homeschooled right now. However, I was
looking at one of the things that we have on here.
For education, the Greater Beckley Christian School was offering nine
month elementary tuition. This is at sixty percent off right now.
If you're someone looking to send your kid to private school,
(35:25):
or you do already, and maybe you can just give
yourself a month break or a year break on the
tuition when you pair a sixty percent discount with the
Hope Scholarship, you can really get that year tuition down
considerably and save you some money. I mean, preparing things
like that together logically really could make some sense for you.
Speaker 5 (35:42):
Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean I see one of
those tuitions is like fifty.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
Five hundred dollars. That if you get it for sixty
percent off, that's twenty two hundred dollars. You apply the
Hope Scholarship to that, and suddenly you're looking pretty good
to for a year at tuition.
Speaker 5 (35:54):
You almost had free school exactly. A couple of last things. Yeah,
thirty seconds left on new thing. We've add pest control
either General pest Control, termite baiting or mosquito services from
Spotlight Pest Control. Uh, they're out of Saint Albans. There's
also some mowers. These are models that never sold their
(36:15):
brand new as far as never nobody's ever owned them.
But there's there's mowers, a chipper, and a snowblower from
from Gravely Tractor.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
That's great, that's great, it's great information. We have to
wrap up the show. We have so much that we
can talk. Let's do this again in a couple of
weeks once again. Maybe during the auction. Yeah, we'll do
this again, then doing the auction. Maybe after next week,
we'll do this again. We'll let you folks notice what's
going on. WV bargains dot Com, w V bargains dot com. Ron,
